Unclean and poorly maintained. The sink and towels littered with hair, faucet horribly stained and the desk still had crumbs. The hotel itself is old, along with everything inside it. Light fixtures with holes, bathtub from 1965 and electrical outlets sinking into the wall when you attempt to power up. And that s just the room. Parking garage was in disrepair and the elevators make you want to push the butttons with your foot. Restaurant was so nonfunctional I had to eat down the street. Very disappointed.

Convenient location, nice view of the river, friendly front desk. Won't recommend the restaurant on the ground floor at all! Go get some junk food from a grocery store would do you better.

We booked it through hotels.ca on 30th June for 2 nights. We reached in the evening around 7 ish pm. 1st thing, we couldn't get in the driveway cuz 2 people parked on either side of the driveway such that others can't get inside. 10 mins of honking dint made any difference. As soon i went in to the reception, i saw someone run out to clear the way. Not hotels problem - i don't think so, when i went in i could hear my husband honk so they all heard it too. Any hoo, after checking in, when we saw the room, it's not river view which we paid extra for. Called the reception, they said it's not mentioned on the booking, then called hotels.ca care, they put us on hold for 15 mins and finally said it's done so they changed our room. It had half city/road and half river view but the problem was sofa bed. We have 2 children and the sofa was tiny, only fit for 1 person but we were so tired we didn't confront them about this. The sofa in 1st room was perfect for both children. Again, kiddos were tired and it was kinda frustrating to go through that wait again. Then at 11 pm when we went to bed, there were no sheets for sofabed. Kids wanted to sleep but it took them 15 minutes to provide what should have been in the room in the first place. Finally we slept. But first thing everyone complained in the morning was neck and body pain. Mattresses on the bed and sofa were so bad that even kids had painful night. Dining options in the lobby restaurant are limited for vegetarians. Only good thing going for this is proximity to museum (almost walkable) and parliament hill. Overall, we are disappointed with both, this hotel AND hotels.ca

Not too bad overall.

Not too bad overall.
- coffee machine, like most hotels. But nothing to stir with...
- small piece of coloured string left on carpet under bedside table. No big deal.
- All interactions with staff seem like they want to finish talking with you as soon as possible. Over the phone, one was so quick to want to dismiss me that he said "thank you, bye" when I still had another question. It was 915 pm, so likely not so busy at the desk... I've felt more welcomed at a McDonald's

Update: Called from room around 9 pm. Asked front desk if I could book another night. Person checked system then said yes, all good, but come pick up new key card in am. Woke up a bit late so rushed out to work, figured I'd get cards upon return.
Go to desk after work, attendant says I'm no longer checked in to any rooms. Asks if my stuff is still in room (of course).
Luckily, room was not booked so she books me in. Goes to see manager to confirm rate. Comes back with excuse "we have new staff, sometimes they don't know how to work the system".
Seriously? Only by luck was my room not taken. There is a manager on duty...i presume to help new staff.
Grow up people. And learn some professionalism.
Also, the front desk staff could really use some lessons in HOSPITALITY.

The venue needs updating. Food was great but we were dying of heat and could not enjoy it. Air does NOT work well here and made it difficult to stay indoors. This is the 2nd wedding reception we have been to in a year and nothing has changed. Thank God for their terrasse. Service is excellent though!

Decent place, not fancy. Cable wasn't working, just got a message on the TV saying "weak or non-existent signal." Perhaps could've used a quick vacuuming and the cleaners left the previous guest's towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door. Not a disaster, but a bit gross. Otherwise clean, bed comfortable, very quiet, roomy, nice view.

We are still here. The staff is excellent. Communication and updates are awesome. The power was down in the day for a bit, I totally understand things get old, and needs updates. The gave us plenty of notice regarding this. Pool great, staff great. Restaurant is great.. Very resonable priced as well. Very large portions.
Thanks to all...

Absolutely the worst breakfast service I've ever experienced. The manager literally tried to usher everyone through and cleaned my table after I stood up to get a 2nd plate. The only reason for the 2nd plate was there weren't any food, not bowls, no juice, everything was sparse so it was pretty useless. Don't bother getting the buffet breakfast, it's a joke. In fact I wouldn't even recommend getting the breakfast specials with the hotel. I've bought 5 breakfast here and it's going to go to water since I'm not coming back after 2 days of horror. Nobody should have to experience this type of atrocious service. I'll be going to a local eatery for breakfast tomorrow. As for the hotel room, it's dated and the floors are gross. I've been to Crown Plaza all over the world and I have no idea how this passed the inspection. My room smells like it was heavily smoked in despite being a smoke free room. Worst hotel experience ever so do yourselves a favor and book elsewhere. This place does not come close to a 2 star rated hotel.

Well maintain and conveniently located hotel. The bed and the pillows are amazing and staff really helpful. The downside are you need to pay for parking and the rooms are not the best soundproof.

Rooms and hotel are in poor repair. Not even all the elevator buttons work.

Anything good is about a 30 minute walk.

No laundry facilities for guests except drycleaners.

Cleaning staff do not always vacuum. They also ignore the do not disturb signs and will enter your room anyway. Cleaning staff will get maintenance to open your door while you are in the room if you try to lock it with the do not disturb sign up.

Parking costs are crazy.

Only good thing was the bed.

Unimpressed and not recommended.

The building was in mediocre condition. The food was okay...little on the bland side. Not an amazing experience there, but not bad. I went there for a work party. I didn't actually stay overnight at the hotel.

I go to this hotel on a regular basis
I feel very secure, my executive room is always impeccable,
I am greeted by my name.
The business room is very well equipped for our needs
The gym is never overcrowded and the heated pool is great
I appreciate this place even though I am far from my family.

This place has bed bugs. We found two in our room and showed them to managers who agreed that's what they were. They eventually moved us to another room where we got more bites. No other offers of compensation. They are spreading these things and should be classified as a public health offender. Luckily since we saw them we were able to treat all our belongings before taking them into the house.

The room was nice, the staff was horrible we called front desk 3 times for simple things like soap that wasn't in our room when we got there, extra towels and sheets and blankets for the pullout bed and had to wait over 40 minutes each time. We went swimming and there were no towels there and had to wait over 20 minutes for someone to bring towels there but they had hand towels for us to use. Like I said the room was nice, just wish the staff cared.

I have been here several times and I find the quality of service declining. The building appears understaffed and over worked. Their stress is visible and indicative of management challenges. I do not believe the kitchen is well managed either. Many of the same issues there too. Particularly strange is the relationship between the restaurant and the hotel. They are separate entities and this is apparent in the lack of teamwork. Sadly I believe this is the last time I will stay here. One thing I need to add: I was pleasantly surprised by the lunch buffet! I stand by my overall review, but man, that was tasty! The server worked her ass off too, super polite and the most responsive I have seen this week.

The room was large and our tenth floor room had an amazing view. The kitchenette was great. The location is a cheap cab ride/quick drive to the Hill. But that was the best of it. The rest: Not a Crowne Plaza standard. The bathtub was disgusting and old. The room furniture was standard of any normal hotel. The staff was efficient - not nice nor did they go the extra mile to be welcoming - but certainly did their job and were not rude. When I seek a Crowne Plaza I expect that 4-5 star hotel. None of this experience measured in that direction. A lesser name on the hotel and it would have lived up to that expectation well. Would recommend if the price is right.
