Crowne Plaza Ottawa Reviews

I was at the Crowne-Plaza for an event/exposition. The staff I encountered were very friendly and the hotel seemed very clean.

Bathroom wasn't clean, sheets weren't clean. Room was ok, no room service for the first two days. they gave us some points to compensate but that's like giving you $1 !! there were dirty dishes everywhere in the hall between the rooms. disgusting!!! The breakfast was $16 for nothing!! cup of coffee is $4 for nothing, tastes awful. Don't buy anything inside the hotel, better go outside and enjoy your meal with a view and you'll pay less!! It's below average!!

I can tell you one thing that the staff is a terrific team, I have not done another motel but here we feel at the same level as them thank you for welcoming me here and I am still here I feel very very good not let go of a whole team

Room was nice and so was the staff. Sheets were a little scratchy, but overall a good experience.

Everyone we came in contact with at this hotel were amazing! Checkin was quick but thorough. Checkout was simple. The parking does cost, which is unfortunate but normal for this type of hotel.

Building is in good repair. Food services are sub-standard. Staff appear confused and disorganized. Food quality is poor. Menu is limited.

Was attending a conference at the hotel. Meeting rooms were a bit noisy. Lunch was provided and was very good with gluten free and vegetarian options.

Nice place, excellent friendly staff. Dining room had very limited choice. Getting a bit shabby, but good value for money.

The hotel is clean, modern, and nicely situated. The grounds are lovely and include a patio/garden area outside. The room is larger than I thought it would be but otherwise just as expected. It is nicely furnished and provides all promised amenities. The service is bilingual, helpful, and accommodating although some staff members seem to struggle slightly with questions asked in English. My gluten-free sandwiches were delicious.

Parking is managed by Indigo and is not friendly at all. We were stuck at the exit after we checked out

The venue was beautiful, with the room we had access to having plenty of space. Sounds system in the room was atrocious, but I'm not going to blame the venue for that. All in all, it is a gorgeous place that I wish I got to see more of!

4 * hotel without more, we specified during the reservation that it was a romantic stay. In the end our room had a connecting door, so little soundproofing with a family with several children unbearable. 2 complaints at the reception for just a "sorry" not at all convincing.
Do not have lunch: very little choice and not good (frozen)

Good enough. Traffic is killer to get in and out when its traffic hours. Usually 6 to 8am and 4 to 6pm. Other than that its good. Close to Parliament and other tourist traps.

I only stayed here for one night but it did what it needed to do. Nice hotel with friendly staff. Most of the fun stuff in Ottawa is a little far for walking which could be a deal breaker.

We stayed here one night with our two young children. Nothing to complain about. I felt it was a bit expensive for one night though.

The renovations are excellent - the hotel is much nicer, and all around a very comfortable, pleasant stay! If you were there before the renovations, give it another try - you won't be disappointed!

Only issue - as a Platinum Elite member, when the frond desk said they were giving me an upgrade, I was surprised to find out that my upgraded room was the same as my non-member colleague who had booked the exact same initial room-type as I had.

Room was nice, view was pretty.. lamp was broken and safe was too..

It's a nice hotel.

The receptionist was kind and friendly. They were helpful. The reception is lovely with a water feature.

The elevators are fast.

The room was spacious and furniture was recent.

The bed was VERY firm.

We were on the 9th floor and had a beautiful view of the Ottawa river.

The bathroom amenities were on the minimalist side. The shower head was fantastic and the shower stall was large in the leaning bath.

The pool was nice. It's very warm. The sauna, jacuzzi and gym are reserved to the over 16 clients which is nice if you don't have kids. There is a lifeguard on duty and towels.

The parking underground is expensive at $18 a night.

There is room service available. The menu s available on the television.

Thermostat for the room is digital and easy to adjust.

I would stay there again.

Stayd here for my wedding,everything was great,lots of fun but the air conditioning would not keep up last Saturday. I nkw it was terribly hot andhate to complain.thanks!

Very clean and great service. Spoke both english and french so it was very convenient. The pool and hot tub were great especially after a hard work out in the work room.

Nice welcoming lobby with a beautiful fountain/garden display. Took very long to check in as there was only one desk worker. Beds were more on the firm side which is alright, I slept pretty well and that's the most important part to me. The beds seemed a bit old and we're very squeaky, just getting in and out of them sounded comical. Overall not too bad.

Had upgraded double bed x 2. Was impressed by cleanliness and quality of mattress. Attended wedding reception and was very good. Service was also very good except for the English-French miscommunication.

Excellent check in and other front counter service. Room was large and well equipped, bed was comfortable.

They didnt clean room salad on the mirror bed nachos uner the bed.. Weird powder all over bathroom counters sink every where.. All this green paint chips in the bathtub shower curtain was left on bed had to put it in. Coffie stuff left all over they defiantly gave us a room that was not cleaned. Not worth what i paid for could of got better at days in for less money. Plus pool closes to early.

there are a lot of trouble during our vacation in this hotel. Wrong room ticket, wrong parking ticket coupon 2 times, wrong room ticket valid, forget to clean our room.... we live here total in a mess

I think it is the best hotel in Canada so far. Bedroom Toilet is clean, temperature control is good, and above all, the scenery overlooking river and city center is good. It is good to be able to have a cup of hops until late at about 10 minutes.

The staff at the crowne plaza hotel particularly the head manager is very in competent in regards to hotel hospitality and respect for his clients. When addressed to problems that are occurring with the hotel and their clients he is quick to break down the lines of communication. The Crowne plaza hotel does not like to correct their financial errors in a prompt and respectful manner towards their clients. There are many more hotels to stay at in the area which are very respectful to their clients and know how to conduct business in a professional manner. I strongly suggest not to stay at the crowne plaza unless you like to stay at a hotel who do not practice what they preach as far business goes. Do not stay at this less than satisfactory hotel. You will be extremely disappointed.

Big hotel ! Bed are not comfortable. Locate just outside downtown Ottawa. Pretty expensive for what it is and the location

Clean, good staff. Rooms are comfortable. The location is not the best for tourists. But it is reasonably close to the strip where you can find good restaurants and a short cab or uber to Ottawa. There is a restaurant downstairs and a fitness centre.

Amazing, but wish it had free parking. Was clean and seemed like it had a theme. Would recommend

This hotel is too expensive for what you get. We called the hotel before booking and they said that kids under 11 eat for free, when we arrived that wasn't the case. Also parking cost 18 dollars a day which is ridiculous. There was suppose to be a mini bar in the room there wasn't.... the rooms don't look like anything special . Place is a RIP off. You can get the same quality of room for much cheaper.

I absolutely did not enjoy my stay here. I was supposed to stay for two nights and ended up checking out a night early because of how poor my experience was.
The room I booked (one room with two double beds) was not the room I was given.Bathrooms were disgusting. The tub was stained, the toilets did not flush properly, and the sink took over 30 minutes to drain after just washing my hands.
The staff seemed clueless, always giving different answers to questions asked, hesitating when asked about places to visit in the area/things to do. When we asked where the nearest grocery store was, the gentleman at the front desk said he didn't know then just walked away from us... I thought it was part of the job to know what is close to the hotel to recommend to guests!
The hotel as well has double charged me on my hotel deposit and the parking... ridiculous!! They claim it will be refunded but after seeing some reviews, I am skeptical and now worried I will have to refute the extra charges with my CC company. Such a hassle. Much better off staying at a different hotel.

Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. The hotels main lobby was decorated very nicely with a waterfall and pretty lights, our room was very clean and the decor was very nice. The decor flowed throughout the hotel, with the same color schemes (this included within the main lobby, the hallways as well as the room). Parking wasn't included with our hotel stay and was an additional $18 Cdn. We learned that we could park on the street for free on the weekends so that helped during our stay.
Room was clean and staff was helpful. Location was close to everything we wanted to see (as we had a car) - 15 min drive to the Parliament buildings/downtown.

The hotel is more than adequate for a quick stop in Ottawa. What impressed me the most was the customer service. If you want to feel like people care, stay here. After a tough night with noisy neighbours, I recieved a call from the hotel manager asking me if we'd like another room as the same scenario was likely to occur again. I was floored! Had a wonderful sleep that night and will go back to the hotel when I am in Ottawa next!

It's a very old hotel, the carpets had stains and the side tables were stained also. The pen in the room was all chewed and the remote didn't work. The bed was nice and comfy, that was the best part of it all.

Not recommended. One of the worst IHG hotels - I've been quite a few IHG's in both Canada and US, BUT this should be in the worst three. I entered a room with un-organized bedding (attached), then the staff changed and upgraded a PH room. However, it is not a good one either: Though it is a "clean" room, the Air Condition is noisy; bathroom facilities are aged; bedding stuff is not comfortable - comparing to other IHG's I've been. You have to pay for the parking - the IHg website is saying $18, but it is actually 19.xx plus tax - it is not a big difference but it is not accurate for such a big brand. Worst thing is breakfast, I stayed in Jan. 1 to Jan. 2 2020, but the staff told me in the morning there is no breakfast during Holidays, I don't know why they thought Jan. 2 2020, Thursday is a Holiday? Overall - NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL. I should stay in the Holiday Inn across the bridge.

Locations great. A lot of tourist destinations in Ottawa are within walking distance (30mins to parliament hill)

Great hotel in Gatinuea Quebec with close proximity to downtown Ottawa. Hotel is fairly old but rooms are not that bad. Only downside is the restraunt is pretty much never open. Lol friendly staff though
