Crowne Plaza Ottawa Review

Very clean and great service. I wish there was a closer place or even at the hotel to get food at any hour.

Rooms are spacious and clean. Can control the thermostat easily and a beautiful lobby.

Good facilities, excellent location as all Gatineau lines pass through here.

Got a free upgrade to a suite corner room with a view! Clean and well maintained

Rooms are well decorated and furnished. Disappointed that all restaurants are closed due to a multi-month indefinite labor dispute. Common issues like TV remote battery tip weak to use , in room coffee supplies not fully stocked etc. Parking is on property but 3rd party company and expensive. Garage is under renovation. Front desk staff are bilingual enough.

The stay was welcoming at arrival were told parking wasnt included which we knew from the reservation ph calls the receptionist was friendly butttt we asked about breakfast times double checked if we need vouchers upon reservation we were More

Hotel rooms were nice and clean. Very modern. Hotel staff were organized and there were no problems with the stay at the hotel.

very nice hotel. Right at the entrance, we see a beauty with several pools and waterfall. We arrived around 10pm and were made to feel very welcome. Very good service, but ... we wanted to have a coffee one morning, and we could not, the coffee maker was not even clean. Slow internet connection, to be improved.

paid parking, expensive, moreover it's really hard to navigate ... Even in the parking lot nothing is clear, it does not say what floor we are, we even had a warning because we was not parked in the right place.

What's good about this place, you ask? Nothing! This place shouldn't exist, period. I walk into my room and one side of the bed had sunk in. I called the concierge, who sent someone to look at it. He reeked of smoke and made my pillows and the bed stink. He asked me to help him with the bed since he didn't have three hands, he said, he should have brought someone with him. The tub collected water, not sure if there is anyone who likes to stand in dirty water while taking a shower. My towel had hair on it and the sink had hair as well. No apologies received from the staff for the bed.

Did not stay overnight, but attended an event. The hotel was exceptionally nice and staff were friendly and helpful.

On Saturday, after a disappointing experience with booking through Expedia who wanted to rob us of our funds, after cancelling our booking less than five minutes after finding out that they were charging us in US funds, when we are actually Canadians. We wanted absolutely nothing to do with this hotel, but in the end we got back our money and decided to still stay at the hotel, we booked directly with them. I am thankful that we did. The hotel entrance was absolutely stunning and best of all, the rooms were amazing. We go to our room and didn't want to leave..LOL. The rooms were spacious, the bathrooms were amazing and the best part of it all is that we could close the doors to our room. We do plan on making this our spot whenever we visit our friends in Ottawa, We just wont ever make the mistake of booking through another third party. Will always go straight to the source. The beautiful hotel. Thanks for making our stay a wonderful one.

We had to switch rooms three times due to either a cigarette smoke or vomit smell. Nice entrance, great elevators but good luck getting your truck in the parking garage. I do not recommend staying here.

The reception desk was friendly and helpful. room was near and orderly when I arrived. The WiFi speeds were more than adequate to get my work done. I ordered room service for dinner and it arrived in less than 15 minutes and the food was excellent. Overall a good experience.

Great location, great staff, clean and great price. Really can't ask for anything more than that in a hotel.

Hotel very good. The view is really beautiful on the river and the city. The rooms are clean and well equipped with a microwave. The bed is separated from a door to isolate noise and increase privacy. The mattresses are REALLY comfortable. The service at the reception is courteous.

Last night was the worst check in i had ever experienced staying here. The room we were put in had not been cleaned, hair in the bathtub, opened coffee and sugar, broken lights and drain plugs. Thankfully we were moved to another room. Staying here before, I knew the Beef Brisket gnocchi was good but there has clearly been a huge turn over in staff here. The food was bland and dry, I asked for bread and was given greyed out charcoal bread. My boyfriend and I both ended up sick. The wine tasted like cheap expired white grape juice.
Last night was not what we expected at all and we will doubtfully return after this. It's only been 2 months since The Last stay but this hotel has taken a full drop in standards and service. If I could get a refund for this overpriced and disappointing night out, I would.

Extreme upgrade ftom the previous Holiday Inn

Nice hotel. Good rooms with large beds, ideal for large people. Good buffet for breakfast.

Limited to channels, high speed wifi has good signal and speed

I attended a work Christmas Party in salon B. It was beautiful, the space was well organized and the food and catering staff were fantastic.

North American Crown Plaza feel differs from Europe brand, in general the staff were helpful and the hotel was good and rooms clean, but there is something missing still! It feels too empty and lacks energy

Hotel is aging poorly. The shower plug was rusted and disconnected. Service and staff are good.

Large suite, nice rooms. Hotel is a little old and needs renovations.. underground parking is very sketchy and creepy. The parking spots are very small as well. Its a decent place to stay when downtown Ottawa is fully booked, it's closed to the war museum and nice parks.

Definitely not as nice as I expect a Crowne Plaza to be. Photos online we're deceiving for how nice it was. Pool was a little dirty and definitely not as nice as I thought from the pictures. Good location for access to parks, but not as convenient to cafes/restaurants. Probably will try a different hotel next time.

Clean rooms with very good water pressure from the shower #1!
The iron in the room didn't work very well, maybe warm at the best,
ironing board would not stay in the up position so you had to use the in room desk..to low! Beds were good with 4 large pillows.
Front desk staff said that no one really uses the iron, they have a one day turn around time for your dress shirts etc! not the answer I was looking for.
The F&B are contracted out, to an outside company. You would never know this from all the fresh food for breakfast with may hot and cold items. I was looking around for a take out coffee cup, when one of the servers noticed and went to find me a to go cup.
You would think that you were in a 5 star plus Hotel from the food without the 5 star pricing.
