Just got home yesterday from a 4 night stay at Crowne Plaza. I think this is a great hotel. It was easy to get to from Ottawa, as the bridge is up the street a bit and a right turn. We asked for a room with a view of the river, and the person at the front desk was happy to oblige. Great staff. The pool was comfortable, the room was clean. Close to the War Museum, so we got to walk there. It got a bit noisy each morning with the traffic at the front of the building, as it is a busy street used by working commuters (large government buildings close by). Bike trails were just across the street. The only complaint I have is the $17 parking fee each day. It think this was way too much while staying at this hotel. I think I would consider staying here again, but I would first check other hotels to find out if the parking fee was similar. The best part about staying in Gatineau, were the people. We were so pleasantly surprised that EVERYONE was able to speak English and did not mind switching to English when they realized we didn't speak French.

Stayed here for a friends wedding last year and the venue was absolutely beautiful. The hall was a little small, but did the trick. The rooms were a little outdated, but overall I enjoyed my experience.

Was there for a national tournament. The breakfast buffet was 20 bucks and it looked like it was left overs from the morning prior. Pool closes early. Restaurant attached to hotel was very decent. There isn't much to do in the area within walking distance. Your should probably stay in Ottawa instead. Never going back.

Great staff and the room. Was amazing. We mentioned we were on our honeymoon and when we got back from visiting family that night we found 2coupons for a free breakfast waiting for us. Room was clean and fresh.

Great rooms, great staff. The only is thing is that, there was no room service menu in my room, so I called downstairs to order one and they brought it to me buy no wine menu. So I ate in the restaurant (with the same paper menu). I think there should more cooperation between the hotel and the restaurant.

The Hotel and staff are very nice. The rooms are great and clean.

The restaurant is providing customized buffets, which is very gracious and appreciated, but the tone and attitude are frustrating to deal with. Most of these people have lost their home and belongings and they are exhausted as they are working and traveling to their homes every evening. Therefore, they should not be avoiding the restaurant that the Red-Cross is paying to feed them.

Not all staff at the restaurant are this way, but being treated or segregated from the regular customers does not feel very welcoming. There are no options to order food from a menu or to your room or prepare for work lunches. When a gentleman working the night shift asked for supper food he was given a takeout container and directed to the soup and salad bar. The other hotels let you order food and charge it to the room, reconciling the bill at the end of your stay.

Good service, we had quick access to a nice room. On the other hand, we asked that the sofa bed be made and the evening when returning it was not the case! Not even a pillow. 20 minutes later, we came to give two pillows to my door. Still an amazing hotel I was just unlucky.

Almost an hour of waiting at the counter for the keys. At 4.15pm the rooms were not ready despite a "check in" at 3pm. Indications not clear in the parking lot; additionally paying. Deficient ventilation at the swimming pool. The smell of chlorine is hardly bearable. I only give points because the rooms are very clean.

Guys please be very carefull awith payments at this hotel. Last weekend we booked 3 rooms for our family and we came only in 1 suv. And we asked for only 1 parking and they issued only 1 parking ticket. But later on in my statement i saw charge for 3 parkings. And when i called account department they said we automatically assumed that you have 3 rooms and you will need 3 parkings

So i told lady how can you charge for 3 parkings when you issue only 1 parking ticket. And then she reimbursed me by money for 2 parkings.

Thank God i checked i statement, otherwise i would never knew about how they charge you extra.

BE VERY CAREFULL

Nice hotel, good central location

Nice hotel, good central location
Rooms are nicely done, bigger then average hotel room, some furniture are bit dated, but overall they are nice, and it looks like the hotel was renovated not that long ago.
Checking/checkout was quick and easy.
Underground garage has a VERY low ceiling, and some spaces are extremely narrow, but some are over-sized (very strange).
Breakfast (included for free for adults ONLY) was really good, with standard sausages, bacon and eggs, but also with some cheese and ham, fruits, and pastries.
Hotel is located on the Quebec side with super easy access to Ottawa. I left my car in the garage and walked everywhere. War Museum is only 15 min walk, Parliament Hill about 20.

Great place, great location near water and parliament and has good food and coffee. Excellent service. Caution taxi service especially early morning challenging, expect up to 30min wait time due to congestion.

Location was good, with easy access to public transit. I was there for a conference. However, the breakfast provided by the hotel for the conference was poor - all carbs and sweet pastries. Both mornings I was there, I ended up going to the restaurant attached to the hotel to get a continental breakfast instead - something hot with protein in it. I also wish it had been easier to find water in between conference sessions.

If this was a motel where I park in front of my room it would still get only 3 stars however this is a hotel trying to be high end and failing! The room I had was not clean, the shower curtain was brown and frayed, hair all over and a mysterious glob in the shower... The couch in my room also stained... They are charging food and drink rates at their restaurant that out prices their guests... $17 for breakfast?! Over $8 for a bottle of Budweiser? Insane! Suffice to say that I will be suggesting my company never to book here again!
Edit: due to a recent stay at a Travelodge I have bumped this up to two stars... The Travelodge was that bad...

It s the food at the restaurant that s worthy of this review. I was just hungry and needed something easy and then was totally surprised (expecting yet another hotel
restaurant) that the buffet had the most incredible bbq chicken. So I went back the next night too and both the salmon and the stew were fabulous. It wasn t restaurant food way better...home cooked. Somebody really cares about how this food tastes. The service matched friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend.

Check in took 45 minutes. Day of arrival, bar was understaff and beer was not cold. Literally. Fridge problem we were told. Waitress was cold and beer was hot my friend mentionned. Same evening, on a Friday night mind you, restaurant was also understaffed and the same waitress from the bar was now in the restaurant and she decided we were going to wait because we didn't have a reservation. She gave us her rookie waiter and it took 1h45 hours to get our meals. 40 minutes just to get bread! Also, when we reserved for the stay, we were told we were going to have until noon of a certain day to cancel the last night and parking was going to be included in the price. Well this was no longer the case. I could go on and on. I will never go back.

As soon as you walk in the ambiance is captivating, inviting you to explore every corner. The staff is friendly and eager to assist with whatever you need. We we're not guests of the hotel but wouldn't hesitate to stay here if the opportunity arises.

The venue itself was beautiful - been to a few weddings and events at this location. But in terms of coordinating an event with their event coordinator - it was a nightmare. I could barely get a hold of the staff and get my questions answered. If you can get a hold of them - I suggest trying it out because their prices are decent compared to other venues I have considered.

Very reasonably priced to be in that close proximity of Parliament......friendly front desk............clean rooms.......was going out to eat and saw the food people were eating at the bar......friendly Barkeep...recommended a few things. I ordered and it was plentiful and delicious-with dessert it cost around $20 delivered to my room taxes in. I'll be back.

The decor was older and felt really dated compared to the Ottawa Delta we just stayed at. The ceiling was popcorn and office tile and the wood paneling was all the rage in the '90s. It was clean and air conditioned so it met our minimum requirements. It was also dark though because of the colour scheme.

Stayed here yesterday, uncleanly and unhelpful. Bed linen made the both of us have a reaction. Talked to the desk looking for a new room or new sheets. Then we didn t hear from them at all. For all we know it could have been bed bugs with the welts we were left with. Then after speaking to them again they told us they d cover the parking and to call again and follow up afterward. Simple problem with a simple solution. Wasn t handled well at all.

Nice hotel with a big carpet in the room, but well maintained with a comfortable mattress, microwave, coffee maker and fridge. Clean and spacious bathroom, good pressure in the shower. Paid parking ($ 18) for the night, good luck to find a place if you have a big car. The staff was struggling to provide for the morning buffet, which would have been fine otherwise. Pleasant welcome by courteous staff.

Family hotel with a view of the Ottawa River. Comfortable bed, pillows. The swimming pool and the included breakfast are a plus.
The -: Lack of staff in the breakfast room (tables cluttered with dirty dishes, very slow coffee service, lack of clean dishes and cutlery available)
