When you are instantly offered the most extraordinarily amount of genuine confident-boosting-encouragement to progress your raw fitness in a way that you have desired for such a long time THIS the place to come. All abilities and ages totally in awe of each other. Five months in, three session a week, I m in for the long haul. I ve never known a more dynamic cross section of folk. There is everything to be gained coming here - fitness, competitiveness at any levels, (be it with yourself or in a wider arena), body confidence, social - it s a take as much as you want or leave it attitude. So relaxed and that s exudes from the incredible coaches I ve had the pleasure to work with Jaime, Sophia, Rhiannon, Laura, Steph and Rob to name a few. Thank you, thank you, thank you

I moved to Exeter two years ago hardly knowing anyone. I now have the best social life I have ever had. I have met the most amazing people and inspiring individuals, all from one gym! I have never stuck at anything for so long and attend the classes most days (5 days a week) Even when its been a long day at work and I'm tired I know going will cheer me up and make me feel better! Full of awesomeness, thanks Crossfit Exe!

I Joined CrossFit Exe about three months ago having no experience and been on and off bored out of my brain in regular gyms for many years. Sounds cheesy but since joining CrossFit i honestly haven't looked back since and for the first time in a long while i actually look forward to exercising! The instructors and are amazing and i've learnt so many new exercises and techniques already and everyone is really supportive and approachable. Been new to Exeter i joined also for the social side aspect and that hasn't disappointed either, with tonnes of social events always going on its also a lot of fun and a great community. I still have a long way to go but i couldn't recommend CrossFit Exe enough!

I have now been a member of Crossfit Exe for almost 2 years and I haven t looked back since walking through the doors in May 2015. The friendly people and atmosphere in the gym is amazing, the coaches are brilliant (they taught the runner how to squat!) and on top of all of that I have made great friends! I've learnt so many new exercises and techniques and can t wait to continue to learn and improve over the next 2 years!

I am also a member of a running club and whilst I love the running events I do find it hard to commit to the training, where as I train at Crossfit Exe 5-6 days a week and haven t once got bored! The programming is brilliant and always varied and I look forward to every morning. Joining the 7.30am class is a great way to start my day! Crossfit keeps me fit enough to continue my running events but prevents me getting injured like I did when I used to just pound the pavements!

There is a great range of abilities at the gym and Crossfit Exe caters for them all, so don t ever think you are not good enough to come and give it a try you will soon realise all of the amazing things you body is capable of and you won t look back!

Another great thing about Crossfit Exe is the teamwork. When I stopped playing hockey I thought I would miss being part of a team but at this gym you are part of the best team ever!

I have just got back from competing in my third Crossfit team event and loved every minute, did things I never thought I could do and bought more beautiful gym kit! That is the only negative I can find you may get addicted to buying way too many snazzy workout clothes if you join this gym as training with these amazing people will be one of the highlights of your day!

I moved to Exeter 4 months ago but I have been doing Crossfit since 2014, so it was important for me to contunue and find a good gym. After attending two CrossFit gyms in the Exeter area for 'taster' sessions, there was no question that CrossFit Exe was the place I wanted to train. Everyone was very welcoming during my first session - I even got a tour from one of the members who was enthuastic enough to show me around! I was sad to leave my previous gym in the North East, but after a few weeks at Exe I had no regrets. I highly recommend Jaime and the team.

A truly great place!

A truly great place!
Really lovely, friendly instructors who push you to do the best that YOU can do; no expectations or criticisms, just good old encouragement and the vision to see what s possible for you, regardless of age, size, shape, gender or ability.
It s a personal journey where results are down to how much or how little you put into it.
It is also a little bit addictive!
Best of all, it works!
If you re considering CrossFit then I can highly recommend CrossFit Exe, they will help you achieve whatever goal you have set yourself and will give sincere and genuine encouragement with every little milestone you pass.
It s hard but so very rewarding!

I have been to a few Crossfit gyms around the world, and this one trumps the lot! This is down to a mixture of fantastic, dedicated, encouraging coaches who know how to help you as an individual reach your potential, to an environment of fellow athletes, who are wonderful, down to earth gracious people - with no chips on shoulders or attitudes.
The best hour of my day is always the one spent at Crossfit Exe, and the fitness, friendships and fun you gain make the whole of your life so much fuller.

Jaime Webb was my neighbor and when he returned from travelling abroad he told me he was opening a gym in Exeter - Why ??? There were loads of gyms in Exeter - it will never work thinks me. After my first session I almost puked in the car park !!! Two and a half years later I am attending 4-5 times a week. It is just an amazing place to be and I still get excited for every session - except when running`s involved !!!! Who would have thought I would be snatching, clean and jerking and deadlifting weights at my age !!! My kids go now and are catching me up with the weights as well- Crossfit EXE best gym in the south west and all thanks to a Ginger Welshman.

Friendliest, most encouraging gym I've ever been to! I was a bit nervous to try Crossfit for the first time but everybody is so welcoming, no matter your age or ability. I've been coming for about 6 months now and love it! Thanks to all the fun and supportive coaches that teach the '7:30 massive', Del, Sophia, Rhiannon and Jaime, you make classes super fun and always entertaining, even if it is a new challenge each time! x

Crossfit exe is my family, my friends and my suport network. Me and my husband moved to Exeter from the US 2 years ago. If it was not for crossfit exe we would be totally alone. Our whole friends network is from crossfit exe. They are the most friendly individuals there is. The best hour (s) of my day is when I get to see my friends and get a good workout in. Every workout, everyday is challenging and super rewarding. I would be lost without crossfit exe.

Jamie and all his coaches and members are always super friendly, helpful, welcoming and supportive. CrossFit Exe is a true representation of the CrossFit community and ethos at its finest. I always love training here when I am in Devon and the welcome that I receive here encourages me to visit and spend more time here more often.

I joined Crossfit Exe 3 and a half years ago after various attempts to keep fit never really stuck, I'd often get bored training on my own and really didn't enjoy huge group classes trying to stay in time to the music! Crossfit is completely different with smaller class sizes, constantly varied movements and new skills being learnt every week.

The other thing that is entirely different to other gyms is the people, I know everyone's name and they know mine, the community is amazing and some of my best friends I've met at Crossfit Exe.

I couldn't be without it now, it's my favourite hour of everyday.

In 1978, (I know, a long time ago) as a boy of 16 ...

In 1978, (I know, a long time ago) as a boy of 16 I joined the British Army and was introduced unceremoniously into the world of physical training. I hated every session because it mostly consisted of hard work and people shouting at you. The end result was that I got fit but there was no pleasure. Since that time I have been to many gyms and embarked on some pretty tough events but suffered lack of proper prep and was constantly battling injury.
I spent many years looking for something that produced military standard fitness without the drama.
A little over a year ago, some 38 years later, I was introduced to Crossfit Exe by a friend of mine and went down to take a look. Having attended my very first session I was totally hooked. The training/coaching team are the most fantastic group of dedicated people. The classes are small and a watchful eye is always on you. Not to criticise or ball you out but to correct a technique and encourage you to push further. I never feel that I have to go heavy or attempt the extreme. The members are a great gang of all abilities and backgrounds and always make you feel like one of the family.
I attend 4 to 6 classes a week as a result of which I have improved my fitness level massively but it's not just that, the training is so well balanced and challenging that I have developed a much stronger foundation. Not just concentrating on the mirror muscles but all the parts that hold you together.
All this without being shouted at or made to peel potatoes.
On one occasion I was training in an early class on a Friday and one of the girls tweaked a back muscle, she sat on the floor and started to sob. When I asked if the pain was bad she explained that it was not bad at all but she was crying because she thought it would prevent her from attending a competition over the weekend.
I knew there and then that I was in the right place.
So, if you want to come meet the family and enjoy a whole new fitness experience with some challenging workouts and get the very best of coaching and have great fun at the same time then come on down to see us. It will be the very best fitness decision you've ever made.

I have been with CrossFit Exeter for 5 months, and I think that is the best gym I have never seen... Coaches are amazing, they make you LOVE this sport!
When I started to join the gym, I was alone and I didn't know anyone, but after a few weeks, I meet new friends!

Concerning the coach:
Sofia is really kind and she is also good at explaining exercises, especially if you are not a native speaker and you have some problems with the language.
Dell is really able to push you to do more, he is an amazing coach.
Jaime is really really good too.
Cerye and Rhiannon are more than super, I really liked. They are so cute and they really care about people that are in the gym.

It has been an AMAZING experience.
If you have never tried CrossFit before, you have to join the gym.

I joined Crossfit Exe about 5 months ago after moving to Exeter from Yeovil and I've never looked back. I'm addicted. It's always scary moving to a new city but joining this gym helped me settle! Everyone was so friendly & for the first time, I truly felt apart of a gym community! The coaches are always helpful and supportive and the programming is always challenging! This gym ticks all the boxes.

My happy place, and, quite honestly, the place tha...

My happy place, and, quite honestly, the place that has changed my life in a way I never, ever thought possible.

I joined CrossFit Exe in September 2016, with nothing but a year long on again/off again relationship with running, and a lifetime of insecurity about my capability, strength, and what I could acheive. I made a very awkward and unsure entrance to the box on my first Foundations session (the first of 4 one on one induction sessions), but was immiediately put at ease by the friendly, down-to-earth welcome by head coach/owner, Jaime. His patience, passion, skill and attention to detail in taking me through the basics of this alien world made me think; maybe I can do this after all.

And some 6 months on - I am doing it, and frankly nothing could stop me. With the help of a truly amazing team of coaches, I'm stronger than I've ever been, seeing the changes in strength, technique, stamina, and physique developing rapidly.

At every turn on my introduction to CrossFit Exe, I have been met with overwhelming encouragement, positivity, dedication, and - above all - friendship.

Whether you've only just stepped into your first session, or you've been training and competing for years, the moment you arrive, everyone is welcoming, supportive, encouraging; together. Every coach and every athlete at the box is just an absolute powerhouse of goodness. It's this atmosphere that plays a huge part in coming back, week in, week out, especially through my own personal struggles and some physical setbacks.

I never thought I could, and some days I still doubt it; but this place tells me I can.

This gym looks a bit daunting at first - warehouse feel, Olympic lifts going on everywhere and powerhouse athletes throwing up weight you'd dream of, on your first visit. But you should take the chance to take a step in and meet some of the most down to earth individuals I've had the pleasure of working with.

Those people throwing up the weights are the same individuals who will professionally teach you to reach goals and push yourself. Not to mention make you feel like you're at home within the first hour and inviting you to so many social events you won't be able to support any other additions to the calendar.

Definitely worth the investment for the expertise and community and so glad I stopped in.

I had preconceived ideas about CrossFit, based on ...

I had preconceived ideas about CrossFit, based on absolutely no knowledge at all and plenty of assumptions! I had spoken to a couple of guys at work who had tried CrossFit and convinced me it was for the elite athlete, and not a numpty like me!!
I had reached a really low stage in my life both professionally and personally. I felt pretty worthless to be honest, but knew it was up to me to make some significant changes, the most important of which was to bring exercise into my life on a much more consistent basis than I had in the past.
I had joined other gyms and liked to join classes but I felt so alone in them and bored with the repetitive nature of them. I didn't really connect with anyone because the nature of those kind of gyms was that you worked alone and I hated that.
Fortunately a female friend of mine suggested I come along to a ladies only CrossFit session at Exe. This was perfect for me as I had zero confidence and the last thing I wanted was to feel intimidated by a bunch of fit guys!!
I can still remember that first session now and how it made me feel! I was buzzing! I had fun, I was training with other ladies of varying abilities but didn't feel out of place. Sophia who trained us was really lovely and made me feel so welcome. She was encouraging and believed in me when I didn't believe in myself.
I eventually plucked up the confidence to join the mixed CrossFit classes and have loved every minute ever since.
What I want to make clear is that CrossFit is for everyone, no matter your ability. Everyone is welcome, everything can be scaled. I love the variety of sessions available and how every day is something different, something challenging. I love that I have a list of personal targets to reach, new skills to learn and that I am getting fitter and stronger every day.
The coaches and members of Exe make everyone feel so welcome. Success is shared and celebrated. It is such a positive environment to be in and that has improved my mental and physical health no end. I have a new group of lovely friends who love the same things I do.
I now cannot imagine a life without CrossFit and Exe in it!

I have always wanted to try Crossfit but where I used to live there was not a gym. So when I moved to Devon I was excited to come to Crossfit Exe and it did not disappoint. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly and I loved it right from the first workout and could not wait to come back again. Now it's 18 months later and I am the fittest and strongest I have ever been and look forward to more.
The coaching team are awesome and constantly helping me improve my technique, push my limits and progress.
I now train 5 days a week at 6:30am and would do more if my wife let me!!
Don't be daunted when you first walk in and see that it doesn't look like a "usual gym", the atmosphere is awesome and the people are friendly and encouraging. Give it a go and you will want to come back!!
I wish I would have found it sooner.

Crossfit exe is the place to be if you want support, friends, a family, with an arse kicking workout thrown in for good measure!
The coaches are supportive, intuitive, and encouraging. The people are awesome, the workouts are crazy, and if you're looking for a well run, happy place to go, then crossfit exe is where you need to be!
You can make the workouts as hard or as easy as you need them to be...and even though your first visit may be a scary and daunting experience...I guarantee you you will be left wanting more of everything this brilliant box has to offer! Don't make excuses like I did not to go....just get there and enjoy!!

Crossfit Exe has changed my life. No question.

Crossfit Exe has changed my life. No question.

It sounds unrealistic but it's totally genuine. I started at Crossfit Exe in February 2015 after a long history as a member of one gym or another in Exeter, most of which I spent in an on-off relationship with working out and with no real direction. Any little hump such as illness or increased workload would spell a weeks-long drop of in my attendance and I'd be back to where I started.

I attended a taster session and (after an hour or so of recovery) I was hooked. The blend of skill, technique, weightlifting and high intensity training, all under the watchful eye of a team of gifted and enthusiastic coaches is both effective and addictive. Add to this the whole new friendship group, smiling faces and social life and you've got a winning combination.

I wake up every day keen to know what the day has in store and any day I'm not there is spent planning how to make up what I missed!

In real terms, I started because I had tried everything and my weight and waistline were only going in the wrong direction. Six months (and a good deal of sweat) later and I had lost two and a half stone and increased in strength. A year and a half further down the line and my whole body shape, ability, strength and, importantly, self-confidence and body-image have continued to improve.
I'm more capable, stronger, fitter, healthier, ill less often and better more quickly and happier in my own skin. I can't think of anything else that a gym should give me and hadn't imagined in a million years that the transformation would be so significant but I'm very glad that it is!

Thank you Crossfit Exe and I look forward to what the next two years has to bring!

Crossfit Exe well what can I say! The only form of exercise I actually think I've felt addicted too!
The best team of coaches you could ask for, encouraging and enthusiastic.
And a great bunch of people that go, it's like a proper little family!
It's help me grow from a person who couldn't even hardly lift a bar or squat, to someone who has the confidence to enter a competition.
Love the place

Who would of thought an old warehouse in the middle of Exeter could be a place where dreams are made?! Well not made, but they can certainly come true if you work hard enough! I first joined Crossfit Exe in January 2014, forced into it by husband who was already a crossfit convert, I rocked up to my first session a quivering wreck- everything frightened me. The gym, the coaches, the barbells, the huge stack of weights even the smell! But after an hour of moaning, and arguing with the coach that I couldn't do, the love affair began! Crossfit Exe is not just a gym, its a place to meet new people- Awesome people who are always dreaming and pushing and working hard for the next PB. People who become amazing friends <3 Head coach Jaime along with coaches Soph, Shaun, Ida, Lou, Ellie, Rob Jenna, and Connor have created something special- No other place Id rather be part of.

I cannot recommend this gym highly enough. From the get go I have been supported by a fantastic, knowledgeable and enthusiastic team of coaches led by head coach Jaime. The excellent programming has helped me achieve strength and conditioning goals I never could have achieved on my own. Amazing gym, the loveliest people and a whole lotta' fun! Why would anyone go to a normal gym?!

Before joining I was pretty dubious about Crossfit but now I'm part of this incredible gym I wish I had joined sooner! I've only been coming for 4 months but I haven't looked back! Every session is different and the coaches are super supportive - I can't help but come (at least) 5 times a week!

I'd never have thought myself capable of doing handstands or putting a heavy bar above my head but I'm bloody well doing it and it's all thanks to Crossfit Exe. Thank you so much, you guys are awesome!

There are so many gyms and fitness businesses around now and believe me, I have used and experienced most of them. I absolutely promise you CrossFit is the real deal. Just 4 months into my journey with CrossFit Exe and I have not just changed shape for the better, I have gained large amounts of strength and mobility. In fact I was pretty proud of the fact I could do 30 press ups when I started, now that would be a warm up at most :-)
But the best thing is the amazing bunch of friends I have made. The community that Jaime, Sophia, Shaun, Lou, Connor, Jamie M, Cerys et al have made is amazing and if you are ever down or demotivated, a smile or a kick from this crew will bring sunshine and real strength into your life.
