My happy place, and, quite honestly, the place that has changed my life in a way I never, ever thought possible.

I joined CrossFit Exe in September 2016, with nothing but a year long on again/off again relationship with running, and a lifetime of insecurity about my capability, strength, and what I could acheive. I made a very awkward and unsure entrance to the box on my first Foundations session (the first of 4 one on one induction sessions), but was immiediately put at ease by the friendly, down-to-earth welcome by head coach/owner, Jaime. His patience, passion, skill and attention to detail in taking me through the basics of this alien world made me think; maybe I can do this after all.

And some 6 months on - I am doing it, and frankly nothing could stop me. With the help of a truly amazing team of coaches, I'm stronger than I've ever been, seeing the changes in strength, technique, stamina, and physique developing rapidly.

At every turn on my introduction to CrossFit Exe, I have been met with overwhelming encouragement, positivity, dedication, and - above all - friendship.

Whether you've only just stepped into your first session, or you've been training and competing for years, the moment you arrive, everyone is welcoming, supportive, encouraging; together. Every coach and every athlete at the box is just an absolute powerhouse of goodness. It's this atmosphere that plays a huge part in coming back, week in, week out, especially through my own personal struggles and some physical setbacks.

I never thought I could, and some days I still doubt it; but this place tells me I can.
