Mike and Orlando arrived on time even with bad weather. They were so friendly and polite. They immediately put on floor protectors and got to work. They obviously knew what they were doing and Mike really knows his stuff. He talked to me about the system and had a great suggestion. I m glad I m a Cranney member .
The two technicians Nick and Peter are knowledgeable and professional. They explained the water heater system in detail and provided practical options for repair/replacement. They were considerate to call 30 minutes prior to their arrival and wore masks and gloves.
Want to thank Nick from Cranney Home Services for the thorough inspection he made of our plumbing system. He and his helper Andrew were on time and completed the inspection promptly with helpful advice that has already been put to use. Good to know that everything is in working order.

Keith and Mike came to us the day after we arrived back from vacation in LA on Wednesday night, October 8th, to a drain blockage. Not the best way to arrive back home with laundry to do, etc. We own a three-family home so we are always concerned about our tenants being inconvenienced. The guys were wonderful. Very prompt, professional and friendly. It was a difficult job because of the way the main trap was situated, and they worked on the problem all afternoon on Thursday and thought it was cleared. Unfortunately, on Friday when I ran a wash, the drain was backing up again. My husband called Cranney and Keith and Mike came back and worked on it until it was fully cleared. They ran all the faucets to make sure it was completely clear. We were very happy with the service and grateful for their excellent work.

Cranney delivers each and every time we need them...and this past weekend was no exception to this 5star classification. Our basement had flooded; turns out BOTH sump pumps had failed. We called Cranney, the service reps are so nice and helpful - which helped end the panic I was initially feeling. Once the plumber arrived, the problem was identified, we were informed of what the issue(s) seemed to be, then presented with a fair and reasonable quote for parts and labor. Work was then commenced and completed within one hour!! We recommend purchasing the yearly subscription too as the value is worth the savings we see each time we need an electrician, plumber or ANY type of helper!

Last year we sign a maintenance plan with Cranney Home service. Yesterday received a call to see if we wanted to schedule our maintenance appt. There was an opening today so I took it. I received a call to let me know that they would be arriving within 30 minutes. Mike C arrived in 20 minutes. He called from outside to see if I wanted him to come thru the front door or the back entrance. He was so professional. He wore booties and a mask while in the house. He explained exactly what he was doing. He had one small recommendation which he showed us and explained why he made the suggestion. I've had nothing but positive experience with all the technicians from this company but cannot say ENOUGH good things about John Pettengil, their drain specialist!. He is not only very expert in this area, he has been excel-tionally patient in working with me in a very difficult half-house (two owners) situation where opinions differed regarding the level of work needed. His articulateness and obvious knowledge of his subject matter helped resolve a very frustrating situation. Would recommend him (and this company) without reservation.

Justin fixed the pipes under our kitchen sink today. Efficient, professional, and knowledgeable, he was so nice to the kiddos - they even made him bracelets! As usual my experience with Cranney was top notch.

Nick and his apprentice Peter spent 3 days at our home repairing the plumbing main stack. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about them!!
They arrived each day on time, with smiles, and did an outstanding job. They were friendly, polite, and amazingly patient and kind to my two very inquisitive and overly-friendly toddlers. Each part of the process was well-explained, from initial overview and estimate, the work days, and through inspection. And they did a great job cleaning up! Andrea in the office was extremely helpful and informative as well.
I've used Cranney Home Services in the past, and had excellent experiences, and this one exceeded expectations. I highly recommend this company, and Nick I. as well!! My kids are going to miss seeing the "plumber guys" each morning, although mom is happy to see them finished!!

Frank, the master plumber, and Patrick, the apprentice, arrived promptly and quickly diagnosed the problem. They then patiently explained to me and my wife why water was leaking from our upstairs shower onto the ceiling of our downstairs bathroom. Detail by detail they explained what happened, why it happened, and what they needed to do to repair it. Before proceeding with opening the ceiling and removing and replacing the waste overflow and trap my wife and I knew the cost of the work and the timeline to complete. We were extremely satisfied with the results.

I was very satisfied with the service I received from Cranney Home Svcs. They came in and checked the pipes on my heater and told me I did not need to get them fixed yet and so I had a free visit. I am a member and so they are supposed to check my heater once a year free anyway.
I initially contacted this company to quickly remedy a new toilet install (after a full bathroom renovation, including new floor and subfloor). Time was of the essence to prevent damage to new floor. Cranney sent someone right away to install a new toilet since I wasn't going to deal with problems from the original one. (I had already purchased the the new Toto). I next called Cranney to come and look at my ancient H B Smith boiler and I have been impressed with their customer service and also them calling to give me updates on when the technician (Frank) woud be arriving. Frank was very knowledgeable and l would have no problem dealing with him again. He seemed to take an aggressive approach to the boiler and I'm hoping it will buy me more time (another winter) before we have to make a decision to replace it. I worked right by his side so I could learn what and how things worked. I appreciate a servicemen allowing that. I don't know how I'd feel with someone over my shoulder watching my every move. We've had Cranney address some electrical needs and everyone is very professional. The only negative comment I have concerning Cranney (not Frank) is that they are EXPENSIVE. The estimate, to change out the dimmer in the dining room while he was there doing other things was unbelievable. I can do some electrical, but figured, "hey, he might as well do it since he's here." Well, I said forget it. But back to Frank T, I'm not sure if what we were charged by Frank's services is too much or not. Obviously if we bought more time on the boiler then it was well worth it.Lastly I'll mention that I had Cranney give us some estimates on a new boiler system and they gave us three scenarios. All extremely high in comparison to other estimates I've received for some of the same equipment. If money was no object, I would gladly do business with them on a regular basis as they all seem very trustworthy. But money is a factor when remodeling a newly purchased home.
Conclusion: A great company, if you can afford them, go for it. If you have boiler/furnace issues, ask for "Frank T". The nice thing here is that he (they) knows the business, while some of the competitors may not so much. Will we be doing business with Cranney in the future? Yes, when the wallet dictates that we can.
Ultimately, if you are in an emergency situation, Cranney will come through. There is something to be said about promptness, customer service and expertise. I guess one could put a price tag on that yet I don't want to bash the smaller guy who still believes in honest work and customer service.

Cranney was the local provider for my Costco mini-split AC installation. They came out for the initial appointment quickly and were able to come back to do the job a few days later. They were quick, clean, and friendly - completing the job faster than the initial estimate with great attention to detail.
Arrived at stated time. Very polite with introductions. Stated what this plumbing assessment was and approximate time involved.
They went about checking all the faucets and drains and tightened my loose kitchen faucet. I expressed a concern that I may have a slow leak in the wall of the garage where the hose spigot was. This gentleman didn t stop until he figured out the problem was with the faucet and not inside the wall. I am so happy to finally have knowledgeable service people and not get the run around. I will stick with Cranney Service and recommend them to others.
Ron was very professional. I loved that he wore coverings over his shoes when he came into my house. I think that s being very considerate. I just recently had new furniture delivered and I asked them to wear coverings and they looked at me like I was crazy. Anyways he was here when he said he d be here. We hired Cranney Home Services for exchanging and upgrading two air conditioning units and two HVAC systems in our home and we are very happy with the whole experience. The entire process from deciding to upgrade the systems, to consulting, getting a quote, negotiating the quote, and finally installing the units took a total of 6 days! On the day of the installation, two teams arrived early in the morning (each working on a set of units) and they completed the work in the afternoon. The workers were very respectful of the property and us - the floors were covered and protected and the house was left clean and organized as it was before! I am not a specialist on the technology, but I believe that we got good products, a fair price, and excellent work! We have been Cranney members for a couple of years now and we had great experience with various jobs (plumbing, small repairs, electricity), so far.
Once again Cranney Home Services did wonderful job for me. I've called on them several times for various needs and their technicians (in this case Nick & Dan) are always professional, straightforward, informative & courteous. Frank and Aiden saved us! Our heat went out on a Sunday night in December and they came to fix our boiler. They were professional and kept us in the loop every step of the way. We would definitely hire them again.
Despite a few miscues with regards to a significant part and an electrician, the installation was handled by professionally by the team that came and did the installation .When it was clear that they couldn't get the heating system ready by the evening, with a scor storm on the way, they made sure we had good electric heaters to get us through the night comfortably.

I cannot express how positive my experience with CHS has been. I have had them replace my HVAC & fix a lingering plumbing issue. My experience with them has been exceptional. They're professionalism was first rate, every install tech, electrician, and plumber that came to my house treated my home like they would have treated their own home.

I found Cranney Home Services on Angies List. Justin Thompson and his assistant Jason helped me with my gas burner, and Justin returned to help repair the faucets on my tub. They did a great job at a reasonable fee, while respecting me as a customer and respecting my home. They inspired my confidence, it was so refreshing. I signed up for their home maintenance program and will definitely be using them in the future.
A snap of severe cold weather left me without heat or water on my first floor. I had called two other local plumbing companies and they were swamped and couldn't schedule someone to come out for several days. I didn't wish to risk waiting so I called Cranney and they had someone out that same day. Jason came out first informed me someone else had to come out as he felt I had a broken water pipe. Thawing it more would risk water damage. The next day (Saturday) Frank came out and isolated and completely replaced the split pipe and determined the cause was the work I had done this summer to replace wood rot outside the house in the same area. The company removed all insulation and never replaced it. Frank did an excellent job in insulating the area from inside the house He communicated what needed to be done both now, and later. He was extremely helpful, especially knowing I am on my own for any maintenance for the house. I would recommend and refer (Cranney) him to anyone I know. Kudos to Frank for a job very well done!!!!
Every time I've had to call Cranney they've sent the most professional, kind, and friendly people. Sometimes their prices can be a bit higher, but they always do their best to work with you and get your problem fixed in a timely manner and without breaking your bank. I also appreciate that they don't talk down to me when I don't know something, and they take the time to teach me about the item being repaired. I definitely recommend them to everyone.

Cranny Home Services in Danvers, MA removed a 20 year old high velocity central AC system and installed a new standard central AC system.
The salesman was precise and provided a detailed estimate which we reviewed several times.
The installers arrived on time today and were very polite, professional and efficient. They reviewed several installation options and explained what they were going to do. Altogether this has been a very pleasurable experience compared to some of the other contractors I have dealt with. on other home improvement projects.

When the company has the nerve to show their vans being cleaned in a video you re probably doing business with the wrong people. They took my call said they would return it but never did. They installed my furnace but when it stopped working they said it would be like a week before they could send someone out. They then said my furnace was out of warranty. They have a reputation for being overpriced perhaps the money is being used to wash their vans. I will never do business with them again.

We woke up this morning to our condo at 61 degrees (we have it set to 68)...and it's about 24 degrees outside right now. When we went down to the basement to investigate the situation, we heard our boiler making weird noises and decided to call the number listed on the boiler. A few hours later, two men arrived. They inspected the boiler and ran some tests, all the while explaining the possible issues to me in plain language. They quickly resolved the problem by flushing out the old water and installing a new part, and now the heat is back on in the condo in full force. Very capable and professional young man ; a tribute to your company
They typically do a good job. If you are on there VIP plan ($23) monthly they will come and fix your heat even if it breaks down in the middle of the night on a weekend. One call and they are there within the hour. And their guys are good and smart. They can 'McGyver' anything if that's what it takes to get heat working for your family on a freezing cold weekend in winter. (Oh, and their guys are super nice and friendly too.)
My only negative is that their prices to do repairs are always WAY higher than expected. Much higher than I think other plumbers, HVAC or electricians would charge. Prepare for sticker shock everytime you call them.
The other thing is that they are apparently trained to make every service call into a sales call. They always try to upsell or find other things wrong. (You know you should really replace this ... fill in the blank.)
But they have your back when you need them see so ...

Cranney Home Services is terrific. Our A/C broke. i have recently had lung surgery and the heat in my home was unbearable making it difficult for me to breathe. Upon hearing this, Cranney sent technicians down within a half hour after our phone call to them. The technicians were professional and knowledgeable. We needed a new part which was delivered within one day. The technicians were prompt, neat and courteous. Used Cranney for almost all there services. Replaced our Fyrnance through them, had electrical fixed and had plumbing, electrical and HVAC inspections. They diagnosed a heatinf system failure that could have caused a major fire. Can't thank them enough for the work theyve done.
The technician, Steven, came on time, was very thorough and very professional. He gave us a written estimate of some electrical work we wanted done in our home.
