Courtyard by Marriott Patong Beach Review

This was the best hotel stay we ever had. We went to celebrate parents 50th anniversary. Special shout out to Camille Ramon - Director of Rooms for looking after us and taking a personal interest in decorating the room for parent's anniversary party. Excellent service by all staff. Extremely courteous & genuinely friendly!!

Merchant Kitchen is worth the price ..but crab is not available for serve, still need to ask!

Excellent location for leasure and families.
- outstanding position of the hotel, out of town dirt, nice private beach.
- just 1.5 km from Paradise beach walk or taxi, 5 minutes from Freedom beach by boat,Tri Trang beach you can walk, but not needed, hotel beach is perfect...just not be surprized on Phuket low/high tide is 1,5 m so once on the beach just rocks, in few hours nice snorkeling, lot to see under water,
- amazing pools, loved by children, clean, islands with palm trees, realy nice, better than I expected,
- very good staff, lot of them speaking well english, maximal hospitality and help to guests,any problem, I appreciate, better than Europe,
- several restaurants and 3 min from hotel Little Tiger Restaurant,
- if Patong life or shopping needed, taxi available approx 400 Baht,
- beautiful garden, see view, greens and lot of nice trees...

Great location with private beach. Far from any civilization, everything needs taxi, no shuttle available, family friendly

The best resort in Phuket, so much activities not just for adults but for children's and families, 4-5 restaurants, gym and lounge with the best breakfast buffets. Will.be coming back again for sure :)

Had an amazing 2week all inclusive holidays. I just loved staying here. The food was amazing, we got to to have a la carte in one of the two restaurants for lunch and then for dinner we would usually have buffet, that included all you could think of (for example oysters) or we would go to one of specialised restaurants for a la carte.
Drinks. Good drinks. For free. Delivered to whenever you might be sitting. I mean near the beach, pool or restaurants.
Staff. That was the best part of our stay! I was amazed by the helpfulness and thoughtfulness of the staff and super nice treatment we got. I mean really nice treatment and not the fake smiles or nods, just because their manager told them to smile ..Great job with the staff, keep them motivated with those big smiles :)
Activities. The hotel have it's own REEF that is really good!! You can snorkel or scuba dive without leaving the hotel. That was so so cool.
Moreover they have complimentary kayaks and SUPs you could borrow from hotel.
The sea would raise and go down each day. When water is up, you can swim in this amazing BEACH in right corner, where a sandy part is. Honestly the beach near hotel is mainly used by hotels guest and very few random ppl. I found myself liking it much more than paid or free touristy crowded beaches we visited.
Our room with Sea view had ridiculously large and comfortable bed and balcony with Sea view. It had everything we need. The walls did not had sound proofing, so we did heard our neighbors a lot. I am deep sleeper, so that was no problem for me, but more sensitively sleeping ppl might think that was a problem.
The hotel have 3 enormous pools. And pool bar and so much more..

This hotel is in a quiet location away from the town.
Because there is a pool and a private beach
We can spend at hotel slowly without going out.
There were few Japanese people and most were Westerners.

Located just off the party area and with its own private beach, the Marriott is a top hotel here. A shuttle drives the gesture to patong beach, the party area here. In the Marriott you can not feel it. The breakfast is very American but very good. The restaurants are also great, although I only ate Thai. Also citizens and pizza abound. Very extensive area, the beach is right next to it. There are 3 pools and a pool bar in the pool. The rooms are top and the staff is incredibly accommodating and helpful. Perfect hotel for those who want to be quiet outside the party area. However, I was not in high season here and therefore unfortunately I do not know how it will be there.

It has its own private beach. Med is getting hot. isteyenlw for a pleasant and carefree holiday, the best place to find at this price.

The advantages of this hotel is Private beach, but honestly this beach is not the most beautiful private beach in phuket.

There was pool to surround hotel and was like water palace. The restaurant was plentiful and we were able to spend a comfortable vacation.

It's a nice place! Beautiful for a wedding(That's why we were there!)

With my wife I was in the Marriott from 13.10.2019 to 28.10.2019, we were very satisfied,
The hotel has generous, clean and clean rooms. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, the food, whether buffet or ala carte, is highly recommended by the large selection. The pools are in perfect condition, the hotel's own beach offers at low tide an interesting change and invites you to swim at high tide. Due to its privileged location, the Marriott (drinks, food) is a little more expensive than in about 3 km from Patente, the five stars the hotel was right.

The customers services are not providing an accurate information and failed to give a 5-stars services like you have been awarded, because of your misleading information I missed the promotion that I should have get and have to pay extra money now and you are not able to do anything or provide any compensation!

We came to this hotel on our delayed honeymoon and it met or exceeded all our expectations... Great resort with a lot to do in its walls and convenient access to patong and cabs all over the island. Great private beach far from the craziness and cruise ship crowds in patong but still close enough to enjoy the night markets and massages. The Reef is a cool feature but nothing to write home about but definitely gives the beach a more unique feel. Free kayaks make for great leisure days between excursions. This hotel also has hands down the best and most diverse breakfast buffet of any hotel/resort though it is pricey if not included in your room rate. All in all a great resort and I feel lucky to have found it for our phuket vacation!

Upgraded to a beach access room with the benefits of Marriott Titanium Elite!

There are plenty of activities, including snorkeling and kayaking.
On a shallow beach, there are fish everywhere.
And if there is no wave and wind, it is so beautiful that you do not need to go on a tour of the remote island.

The pool is also large, and adults can enjoy a 2 meter deep place and a bar counter.

There are two venues for breakfast, but there are many types near the lobby, and the contents are slightly changed by rotation on the 2nd.

There was a daily dinner buffet event and we used it at the Italian timing. You can enjoy a rich buffet for about 1000 baht every day (excluding drinks). It's quite popular, so it's best to make a reservation.

The spa is affordable for the hotel. Hospitality was also normal ...

The Thai mojito served at a Thai restaurant open only for dinner was exquisite.
I received it as a mocktail, but I want it to always be provided as a signature.

It seems that there are more European and American families than group guests, and they are often used at weddings.
The rooms are beautiful and the staff is great.

The only drawback is that the training room was small. It's not enough for those who have a regular workout.

I think that it is the best hotel in Phuket because there is also a private beach, close to Patong Beach, and you can also enjoy a basket stay.

Simply the best resort in phuket as i stayed at some other international brand resorts aswell and did not feel the top service and as a resort should be.... But merlin beach marriott was superb n top excellent. The best service in town staff all over was kind n nice.
I must mention to be honest the only minus was the staff at the spa.
They had a bad day i guess but was not friendly and lack of English-speaking n understanding.
The management have been informed and i hope they have improved.
Else marriott merlin beach is no 1 in patong area phuket.

We had a good time here. The breakfast buffet was good, nice pool and beach was good. They offer kayaking and snorkeling on their awesome beach. At night you can catch hermit crabs.

The staff were amazing and the hotel was fantastic. Had a great time. Id was the best staff member he helped us every day

We had a lovely stay. Rooms were great, best service, friendly staff & beautiful place. Would come back again. Highly recommended. Child friendly, lots of children activities.

It's really nicely positioned on a quiet side of Patong, great snorkelling off the beach one side (in resort) and a short walk to Tri Trang. Staff very attentive towards small issues we encountered. Pools are fab and plenty of loungers to tan on. A good mix of corporate luxury but accessible for real Thai experience should you want it. No regrets

The Food is totally fine for a Resort, but don t expect fine dining.

Hotel is in very bad shape , the pictures are totally deceptive . It is not even a category 2-3 hotel .

Been to this hotel about 18 times and it just gets better and better. Love this place.

It is good to take a family and travel family. There is no time to relax while enjoying resort-provided programs. The shuttle to the city is good, but when there are many guests, reservations are necessary in advance because it may be short. Make sure that the recipient of the booking is well written down!

Best beach cove that you can swim I've seen so far in Phuket, the downside is a 300baht taxi ride to a decent restaurant. On the resort side rooms are small for a family of 4 and decor is dated. Breakfast buffet has a good variety of international foods.

Step out to..the beach pipe line sending milky water here ...disgraceful. ..for a big resort no one picking up rubbish on this beach ...swim in waste if you like

The public in this corner of the island is more oriented towards nightlife. There is a large pool that runs through the complex. At the time of the visit there was some renovation work.

The reception is friendly as usual.

The adjoining beach is definitely very appealing in the main season.

Restaurant staff is not very friendly.
Bathroom has dated fixtures

Everything is possible and wonderful snorkeling directly from the hotel.

Brilliant place to stay, lots of activities for kids and excellent food and rooms.

The room is good, the hotel is very big, next to merlin beach, which is quite a private beach of the hotel. This beach is a coral conservation area, able to dive but cannot dive every day, have to ask the hotel which day to be able to dive, there is a paddle board, kayak for paddle, but need to ask the staff Inside the hotel may not be very new but when going to stay impressed with everything from booking, Call Center staff, receptionist Suitable for a real vacation.

Relaxing holiday where everything just worked thanks to facilities and personnel.

I was shocked when experiencing this resort first hand, because my feelings were not close to all the glowing reviews I read before reserving my stay.

Pros:
- rooms are good size and clean
- facilities in general are beautiful and well maintained
- staff are overall friendly
- though at capacity, does not feel crowded

Cons:
- the food is mediocre at best, which is very disappointing considering the cost is very high. I stay in Marriott's that have free lounge food that is better than the $$$ food at this resort. Some food was so horrible I could not eat and just went to bed hungry
- service in the restaurants is slow, painfully, so don't arrive hungry
- booking tours through concierge is very expensive, I was told because it was high quality, but they are not, they did not put us on a smaller tour group like promised and the tour skipped many activities
-shuttle does not always leave in time, so you can end up waiting 10 mins in hot shuttle
- Check In is cumbersome, they do not provide you with towels and refreshments until after you pay (all other resorts give this to you as you first enter and greet you)

Other comments:
- Some restaurants have free water and others do not, but they do not tell you this, you only find out after paying for water
- there's not any better treatment for being Marriott Platinum, other than small discount at restaurants
- shuttle does not run frequently enough and to and from trips must be booked hours in advanced, so you'll end up getting a taxi several times

Overall, I would not suggest booking this hotel. Even if you save money booking with points, you'll blow all your money on the bad food and nickel and diming they do to you.

It is the earthly paradise, a lovely place, to spend a family holiday, and relax

The beautiful place has a private beach with three pools. One pool will be a children's pool because there will be many toys to play. The second pool is an adult pool because the pool has a bar to serve cocktails for you. The third pool is a private pool that needs peace. Most of them are elderly. To go to sleep, read books Went to listen to the sound of the waterfall Get a good atmosphere

It is a very pleasant hotel to stay. All employees are cute, friendly, very well taken care of, clean rooms, lots of activities, there are 3 swimming pools. But during this period the coral fragments are a little too much

Sensational the swimming pool.

The welcome is as beautiful as the continuation is bad. From November 18th they hosted an event in the structure warning with a sheet on the table. The hotel was full of armed policemen, which is very unpleasant, I don't like paying a Resort for its tranquility to be surrounded by armed personnel. The part near the beach in the afternoon was often not very accessible and not at all quiet due to the presence of workers who assembled structures for this event. If they had warned earlier I would have looked for another hotel.
Last but not least, on the last evening I return to my room and I find myself in the mirror painted with the words "happy honeymoon" ... which is in bad taste.

Horrific! My family and I didn't even get to go, so we called the hotel and spoke to the reservations desk. They were very nice and cancelled our reservation promptly and sent me a confirmation email. Then, they came back on the line and said due to the type of reservation, they could not cancel it and refused to provide a refund. This resort has been the WORST experience EVER! Their customer service and commitment to service has trashed Marriott's good name. They refuse to honor THEIR reservations desk cancellation confirmation. If you wanting to stay at this hotel, BEWARE if you have to cancel! I have been fighting with the hotel for almost a year now. They say they will let my family come stay another time, but with COVID-19 happening, we can't go. The hotel doesn't care about our situation or what the world pandemic has done to families. This hotel has been my family's worst nightmare!!!

Very good hotel, very large, good breakfast. A little away from the center but very quiet. The services are expensive. It has Spa, shopping and all services.

Big tick here. Well priced, with great location. Regular shuttle service to Patong, very friendly and helpful staff. Awesome restaurants if you never want to leave the resort. Swim up bar to charge direct to your room, nothing like eating lunch at the pool bar. Reasonably priced food with good variety. Quality resort services especially the resident day spa. Perfect price and afternoon with the partner.

We had a wonderful stay. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. It was neat and clean. The hotel has a great pool and we spent a considerable amount of time there. The bar snacks are limited but the cocktails are very good
There was a huge spread for the bfast and the Asian segement was my favourite.
We even had lunch one of the days and the food was very good. Comparable.to any speciality restaurants
The only issue was I couldn't get the nights on my membership as we had booked.through 3 party.

Fantastic hotel, even better with all inclusive deal, hopefully get a similar deal in November 2020.

Great place BUT with a major issue.
Location is great as it has its own private beach, with a nice coral reef for snorkeling. Service is good (especially the western staff) and the facilities are very good with enough pools and restaurants to enjoy. HOWEVER, they have a massive issue with the smell I. The rooms as during the day there is a very disgusting smell coming out of the bathroom, and I mean really disgusting. The hotel is aware but all they do is to spray some air freshener that of course is not enough to to cover the smell.
It is really a shame the management hasn't done anything about it.
I was staying in room 1311 just for reference, as I'm not sure the smell issue is a common thing of all room blocks.

Building work happening at the hotel. Was not advertised on their website.
There was also a large conference at the hotel which clearly took priority over other guests. Staff tried their best to make up for the managements poor decisions not to advertise the building and conference

bad experience with breakfast buffet. ordered simple coffee for breakfast because their coffee maker self service one is out of order and took them an hour to serve it. needed to follow up just to get it. bad experience for a 5star property.

A very beautiful place, however the level of English of the staff is terrible, the elevators are in a single point (there should be more in other places, especially those that leave us on the top floor) and finally the hotel is retired having 2 buses to approach the center free in the morning and the rest is paid
