Very comfortable bed, spacious bathroom, love the views. Room service was efficient and always turned up in a timely manner. We watched fight club while enjoying dinner in the lawn tonight and it was such an unique experience! Food in general was also fantastic. Only lament the location which was slightly out of the way but otherwise it was a very wonderful stay. Also appreciated the private beach at the front of the property. Pool is also spacious enough for everyone to have their own space.

Hotel is in a good place, quiet and Patong center is very close.

I think it is the best resort in Patong. Food and staff friendly. Room status and so on.
However, since the lunch menu of the pool bar is burger-oriented, the selection is small.

A very nice hotel, a pity that the staff is obsessed to serve the Chinese and serve the Europeans so badly.
Do not be confused during this season when the Chinese are so numerous and filthy. The staff has service only for them

Everything is great except the breakfast.
Got a warm welcome once you step into the lobby, welcome drink is cold local beer or herbal tea.
I Got the beautiful room facing the sea with spacious balcony, room has got NO mosquitos problem and very clean!
There are many free activities to do in the resort, I was totally amazed by the butterfly garden, very well done and see many butterflies during my visit.
The breakfast was terrible, taste below average and boring food to me, also not enough staff to clean up the table, have to wait very long for the coffee.

The service was immaculate. The atmosphere as a resort was great with one of the best service from the resort staff.
We received an upgrade to a beach view room which was really great.
The pool was tranquil and was a bit disappointed that we could not go snorkelling as the waves were not gentle.
The gym is open 24x7 so for any gym freak you can have the gym to yourself if you like.
The buffet breakfast was also good enough.
The only thing that would be a down side is that the resort is a little far from the hustle and bustle of Patong, but have compensated for this by having complimentary bus rides in the morning to Patong with complimentary return trips back to the resort at set times. You do have to pay to go out in the after but is only 100baht per person.
For a great relaxing holiday and time with your family I would recommend this resort.

Apart from the stoney beach at low tide the rest of the experience was unforgettable. Clean rooms and always friendly and helpful staff...thanks Pang. The location, for us, was perfect. Not too close or too far out from Patong and transport not an issue.

Stayed the the merlin beach resort 3 times . The best hotel we have been in , lovely staff and great service . Throughly recommend for anyone looking for a nice place

Very nice hotel, located a bit far from Patong on foot but easy to get around by taxi even if it is a bit expensive. But a magnificent private beach hotel. Very good memory and stay.

The hotel is very very excellent for families, especially if you have children from 3 years old to 13 years old, and it has activities for them
The hotel is old but refurbished, very large and clean
Not suitable for young people, especially since everything at 10 o'clock in the hotel gets drunk
A defect after him from Downtown costs approximately 40 riyals
The hotel has a bus but it goes from the hotel to the market 5 times a day
The beach is not suitable for swimming due to the large number of coral rocks

Very nice resort. The bit far from town. I have to hire a private taxi do you get to town. Excellent staff and food. Food is the same price as in the US Which is quite expensive and thai standards. I has a very nice private beach in Laguna.

Pools are beautiful lively and fun, breakfast spread its spectacular but the beach is Rocky and unswimable

We had a day pass in this hotel, that provided a room access, one meal for a whole family, ice cream for kids and a lot of recreational activities. All those were for affordable price. Clean and renovated room, nice two swimming pools, gym, nice beach and free kayaking. Definitely
Will return on the weekend.

The hotel and resort are more than brilliant, the service is excellent, the friendly staff, the view of the high class and close to the business movement in Patong Beach

The resort has its own private beach which is very clean. The Patong Beach near the city, by contrast, is filthy and crowded. However the resort beach is very rocky and not ideal for swimming, especially when it's low tide. The resort also runs a shuttle 4 times a day to the Patong area that needs to be booked in advance, and only the morning shuttles are free. The hotel has a good breakfast buffet with a lot of variety and swimming pool is big, though the water is not the most clean. The room is big and spacious, equipped with a small balcony. However the facilities are starting to show signs of ageing. Our ceiling was leaking on our second night and they switched us to a new room. A bit of a hassle. The new room also did not have a stocked mini bar, toiletries weren't fully stocked either. It also took several hours, and multiple calls for housekeeping to bring the rollaway bed over. Overall, I enjoyed my stay.

It is a beautiful hotel and the facilities are very well has an infinity pool with spectacular sea views. The restaurants that it has (2) serve very good food but take advantage of that there is nothing around and abuse the prices. The beach in front of the hotel is not worth it, from the towel until it covers you you have to take a bus ...

Good clean hotel, small private beach but the waiters in the restaurants are very clueless, sometimes you finish breakfast and they haven't brought you coffee yet, and they should show them how to make a good espresso, coffee with milk because you can find a Aguadillo and at the price of a good cafeteria

Resort was nice. Enjoyed the private beach, spa, and beach grill was superb. A lot of coral in ocean but that is par for the area. Would definitely go back and stay there.

Great expereince at the resort, friendly staff. A special mention to Shakir at the gift shop who was very helpful, he was full of knowledge in regards to the hand-made elephants in his shop. Would highly recommend you visit his shop when at the Marriott at Merlin beach.

The beach front is rocky, but you can walk. Soft white sandy beach, beautiful atmosphere, various activities in the hotel Can last all day The rooms are asleep by 5 star standards. Will go back.

Great place, very clean, friendly service and very environmentally conscious. My only complaint is that it s quite a distance from the popular bars, restaurants and shopping areas. Taxi is required (~300-500 THB) to get to any of the popular places.

Otherwise, it s a great place to relax with a private beach.

Nice hotel with a very friendly staff, the complex is integrated in a bay and has a beach which is only suitable for swimming at high tide. In principle I this hotel complex a bit away from the hustle and bustle of the Patong Beach my personal here is still too busy

Well located on patong beach we had two rooms that were connected . Which is nice for family or groups. Few nice restaurants in the hotel ( hard rock cafe ) walking distance to all the popular spots

The hotel is very old. Needs major renovation. Pools are dirty and smelly. Toilets smell like pee. I have been here 2 days and not once have i seen someone cleaning the toilets outside the rooms or the pool. People seem to like only because its not expensive but honestly if you are used to clean 5 star hotels you will hate it like i did. Service is also very bad. The spa is awful and the employees there know nothing about good service. They are rude and ignorant. I expected more of Marriott.. Shame.

The sea water is beautiful, there are a lot of corals, the price is beautiful during the epidemic, but the breakfast can be more abundant

My family and I have been there 3 times. It's the best hotel we've stayed at!
What a day can look like in the hotel.
07. 00 yoga starts and other activity by the water. 8.00 the pools open then you take a swim and leave your towels where you want to sit. After that you go to breakfast. There is always plenty of food and there is never a queue. If you are allergic, the chef knows perfect English. Otherwise there are notes with g or l on. After breakfast you go up to a newly cleaned room. You always tell them when you meet the cleaners in the corridor that you want your room cleaned earlier. Very nice rooms with pool views! There is a large gym you can go to. But after breakfast you can go and play table tennis or tennis if you want. Or if you know you want to go into town, go to the lobby and pick up your ticket for a free bus. Now at 11 the water gym starts. Perfect for you who feel that you want to train. During the day there are ball games and lots for the kids. There is a playground and a playroom and children's pools. For those who do not want children nearby, there is a remote pool that you must be very quiet in. Another with a bar in the pool and wonderful pool. If you do not want to be in the hotel, there is a beach outside the hotel with clear blue water with a 10 min walk there and you are almost alone. The prices for the food at the hotel are quite expensive, so I recommend that you go down to town. Or eat at the buffet. Or why not go to the beach and walk up to the tiger restaurant? There is wifi in the rooms but make sure to get more logins if you are more who should have wifi. TV in the room has usb. Perfect for those who want to bring movies or music. Which I recommend. There is a safe box that you can lock in
It's 99 safe. Now love will go there. The beach is a coral reef. Wonderful to snorkel in. Bring slippers. The beach can be very painful for children as there are corals. Perfect hotel for relaxation.

Perfect getaway! My wife, son and I had a wonderful time here. The resort is bit secluded, which is exactly what we were looking for. Soft-sand beach, three different pools, and a lot of great food. We had a bit of a hiccup at the start, with me expecting a shuttle at the airport, but the hotel staff responded very nicely.

Note - the resort is about an hour from the airport. You can reserve a car with the hotel or take a taxi. The taxi is a bit cheaper, but it s going to stop along the way at an office where they ll try to sell you excursions. Our stop was about 5 mins, not really a big deal. We just said no thanks.

My only complaint about the resort was the gift shop. Not know the area, I paid 650 THB for a little bottle of sun screen (that s about $20usd). Brutal! And then I discovered a convenience store a block to the right. Go there for snacks, beer, etc. Much better prices.

All in all amazing location. We ll be returning!

Amazing resort. Everyone is wonderful and very helpful. Needs are comfortable. The resort has its own reef. Daniel at Sea Bees dive shop gives amazing VIP treatment. I recommend this place to everyone.

The people, the pools - just a fantastic place to relax all day long with cocktails.

Regular activities for young kids up to pre-teen keeps most of the family away from screens for most of the day. Full buffet breakfast included was a great way to start the day as well.

Swim up bar, 3 pools, water slide and small kids water playground were the wet highlights...

Oh, and there is a dedicated beach in a small cove that only the resort can access with snorkelling, scuba and kayaking among beach activities

I have nothing but great comments about our stay at this resort. One thing I will especially be thankful of them is for allowing us to have an early check in as we traveled all the way from Miami. After a 24 hour journey, all I wanted was a shower and a nap. The flight times arrived either too early or too late and I was willing to wait couple hours, but Marriott Merlin Beach accommodated us and I want to thank them very very much for this gesture. I know its not common practice and I'm sure they have to have rooms available and perhaps at least be an Elite member for them to grant such request. Not to say it will always happen. The resort itself is very well kept, gorgeous views, the AC in the room worked phenomenal and never failed (AC is extremely important anywhere in Thailand as its usually scorching outside). They have many pools and we had the pool access room which was great since we opened the door and had steps in to one of their main pools. These rooms with the pool access are away from the main resort pool which faces their private beach and has a bar inside. Merchant Cafe just behind the main pool of the resort offers a fantastic buffet breakfast! Not your standard eggs, bacon etc. No, this is pretty much breakfast lunch and dinner all in one! Room service was great too. The private beach itself is a beautiful setting, but its not your average type of beach. Its all coral and reefs. In the morning when the tide recedes, it exposes all the coral and in the afternoon it looks like a beach again. Do be careful walking inside the beach. Its more for snorkeling in my opinion but again, gorgeous. The Spa was amazing. Very clean. Had a great massage. Patong Beach sadly isn't walking distance to this resort. You do need to go on a cab. The hotel does offer transportation I believe 4 times a day. The taxi situation in Phuket is a bit chaotic (too many scams and they love to stop at tourist offices to sell you endless tours). Uber doesn't exist here, but their version of it is a website called "grab". That should take care of any transportation issues. For those who want to explore Phuket, the resort sells a 5 hour tour that takes you to all the main attractions in southern Phuket including the Big Buddah. Highly recommend this tour, it was great. Also note the resort is 1.5 to 2 hours away from Phuket Int'l Airport. Make time to get to the airport when you depart back home. I would stay here again. Thank you again!

Lovely hotel. Friendly helpful staff. Struggled with trying to convey coeliac ie gluten free due to language barrier. Some staff understand a little. Very nice extensive breakfast. The lovely private beach is unfortunately full of plastic pollution. Very sad to see. The resort is using paper straws which is great. How about a water filter and less plastic bottles. Lovely swimming pools. Nice evening music. Very tranquil.

Rooms are good, spacious. Swimming area are good. The only point and most importantl was breakfast section. Repeated menu, very very few repeated menu on breakfast. We planned our holiday for 5day stay at the resort. We being vegetarian, we really felt short on options and had to depend on breads from day 3.

We have just arrived home from our second stay at the Mariott at Merlin beach and it was absolutely fabulous. We can t wait to book our third trip! The pools are great, the staff fantastic and the food sensational . Thanks for a Fabulous holiday fr our family, Rocco

Really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Staff are super friendly, pools are great, breakfast buffet is the best. The hotel is old you can tell by walking around the grounds but seems recently upgraded. Only improvements I would say is,
The sports bar is very average and has a really bad mould smell.
Water slide is not great could be heaps better really only for toddlers
And the limited Thai food at the pool and dinner option could be improved. Someone cooking up pad Thai noodles, spring rolls etc near the pool in the afternoon and evening would be great.

Fair level, facilities. Good location. There are 3 types of pools (waterfalls, bars, players). The place is wide but feels uncomfortable because of the large number of buildings and rooms. So many people followed Inside the clean room, decorated with fairness. Landscape should be better. There is a private beach. Breakfast is good. But don't forget to eat breakfast in front of the beach. Very little food. Most of the tourists are foreigners. Very little information labels. Most employees provide good service. Except the staff at the Pool bar pool is terrible, not smiling enough. Still pulling on the face of the customer again (Other customers)

Fabulous hotel with a private beach. Very kid friendly with 3 pools, kids club and other sporting activities. Food at the restaurants was good and priced reasonably too. Only down side was the kids club was not fully operational as it was housed in a makeshift room.

A beautiful hotel, everything on the plus side, great breakfasts, the only cons are hotel lobbies and the price-quality ratio compared to other hotels.
