One of the best property management companies that I have worked with. Alex Flynn answered all my questions about the apartment and really worked with me on scheduling a time to come check it out. Colin Reinhart was also a huge help. Sadly I had to leave my apartment earlier than planned. He helped walk me through the process and made sure I knew exactly what to expect.

The maintenance guy for my building (Economist) is currently out of commission with a blown out knee, so Daniel (maintenance manager for a completely separate portfolio) offered to help him out and attended to my work orders! He was super pleasant, did a great job, and deserves a little credit. Thanks Daniel
So far, so good! I've had maintenance come twice to my unit in the month I've been here. The first time I wasn't here, but they had the problem resolved by the next day. Today I called about my refrigerator not working and Ray promptly came over. He was extremely helpful. Came to inspect the problem, left to get the part needed, returned and fixed the issue. No questions asked and no concerns to be had. Thanks again, Ray! Jake Smith, my Portfolio Manager (Landlord), has also been very helpful with the many questions I have bombarded him with. Such an improvement from my last apartment (300 E 17th). I'm looking forward to my time with Cornerstone :)
I signed a one year lease on 9/23/2010. My rent is $925.00 per month.
On 8/15/2011 I received a letter saying that in order to stay in my apartment, I would have to pay $100.00 more per month for a month-to-month lease, $75.00 more per month on a 6 month lease, and $50.00 more per month for a year lease.
On 8/16, I called the apartment manager, JG and voiced my concern that the flyers in the box in front of the complex state that $925.00 is what 1 bedrooms go for, and asked him specifically why I would have to pay more to stay if a new tenant could step in and take my apartment for the same price. His response was "Those are old flyers. The prices have gone up and we need to replace those."
I have checked the box repeatedly, and as recently as 9/13/11, and the flyers still say that the one bedrooms are $925.
On 8/24, I notified JG via email the following: "Just wanted to let you know I won't be renewing my lease and will move out by the 23rd of September. I would certainly stay month to month at my current rent, but can't justify the extra rent of $100 a month."
On 9/12, I checked the Cornerstone Apartments website and an apartment identical to mine was listed for $925.00. It didn't say which unit, and I can't assume it was mine, but the pictures showed an identical unit.
On 9/12 I first called the Cornerstone office to voice my displeasure, and was told to call JG directly. I called JG, left him a message letting him know I saw the apartment being advertised for the same price, and asked for him to call me back. He didn't respond and on 9/13 the listing had been removed from the website. This is not a coincidence.
Rather than keep a good tenant in good standing, which I am, at my current rent, they rip people off by charging more to stay. Then they advertise the apartment for what I was paying. They should not be able to get away with this.
I was lied to and told to pay more instead of being taken care of.
Cornerstone is Shady I lived in a Cornerstone property for two years. During our stay my roommate and I were phenomenal tenants. We paid on time every single month, we had zero complaints, we did zero damage the property, and we had very few maintenance requests. At the end of our second lease we moved out; right on time just like we were supposed too. In preparation of the move we gathered all our belongings from the property and cleaned it to its original state. Leaving only the house keys, the mail keys, and the garage remotes behind. The place was absolutely spotless. However, days later our property managers (Tom Lorenzen, Charlie Hogan) informed us that we would not be getting our $1,500 security deposit back because we did not give 30 days written notice of vacating. I was baffled. We left the exact day the lease ended, dream tenants. There was no warning from Cornerstone, they sent zero emails, made no phone calls, and it was NOT written in the lease. But they insisted it was standard policy. They took complete advantage of us and threw the entire relationship away over a few bucks. I didn t feel like taking them to small claims court over a lousy $1500 but I m sure I would win. I told them I would be giving poor reviews and they didn t care. So true to my word here you go; if you are considering moving into a cornerstone property, DON T. They will screw you anyway they can. Thee end.
Have lived with cornerstone for nearly 3 years and love it! Both of the buildings I have lived in have had great remodels. The maintnace crew has always responded and fixed any minor issue by the day after I report, many times the day of. My property managers have always been responsive and helpful. Really love it here.
Had some toilet drain issues shortly after moving in, which turned out to go deeper than our unit's toilet. Cornerstone sent out Michael Creech, who fixed the issue quickly and effectively. He even cleaned up the mess made in the process. Definitely 5 star service from a housing management company, couldn't have asked for anything more.
UPDATED: 2 Stars because we had our storage locker broken into which means someone got through the building electronic lock, the storage room electronic lock and then broke the latch off our storage locker using a crowbar. We should have a safe and secure place to keep bikes and other things because parts get stolen if bikes are left outside. Just disappointing to try and protect your property behind 3 locks and still have it stolen and property management seems to not be encouraging people to keep the building more secure. The latches on the storage lockers are also still the same, so they can still easily be broken off, though management did add wood so you can't see into the storage lockers anymore.
Updated: 1 star, someone who isn't from the building was seen using a key from the lock box outside the building to enter the building storage rooms, police were called and they left but this is continued theft and lack of security in the building after we have notified management of the theft from our locker and now others are still getting their stuff taken. More lockers have been getting their latches pried off whole management has done nothing to keep unwanted people from getting into the storage rooms evidently. others in the building have been complaning to thefts from their lockers as well and yet it continues.
Updated: Mail was stolen from inside the front entrance way past the locked building door, either someone in the building is stealing from their neighbors or people are still letting outsiders in, the only solution seems to be finding new housing with new management hat will actually take steps to secure their facility like encouraging the residents to keep doors closed or not let in strangers with flyers. Multiple friends of mine have been let into the building eventhough they did not have a key and do not live here. The management should be encouraging people not to let anyone in without a key at this point. Will not be living here again as there is no security and management is not making it better Original plumbing service was still 5 stars but not worth lack of security.
Noah ROCKS! 5 Stars!! Since I'm working from the apartment a lot more, I'm noticing little things that need fixing. Less than 4-hours after sending in the fix-it ticket, Noah fixed all of them!! ...and showed me a few tricks to maintain them. Could not be more impressed!!
Michael is great! Anytime I've had anything that needs fixing in these older apartments he is so kind and friendly! He is efficient, knowledgeable, and resourceful. If Michael is the face of cornerstone then there is no friendlier face to encounter! Justin is also wonderful. Anytime I have concerns or questions he is quick to reply and solve the situation. I appreciate a company that is responsive to tenant concerns.
Best maintenance staff and super quick with work orders! Daniel was very accommodating when my dishwasher broke... He fixed it in a timely manner and even gave me a few helpful tips to avoid the problem happening again!
My building (the Sylvia Mae) has been without heat for 3+ days and my building manager Justin has been unresponsive. Same for his manager Jake. Absolutely terrible support from "property management". I've been living in a heatless unit and the team at Cornerstone has done nothing to help.
I've been with Cornerstone for 5 months, Noah has helped with a few minor plumbing issues and the communication with the property management has been prompt. Very happy with the service!
We've been living with Cornerstone for the past year and half and have been really impressed. They have always been really responsive when we have any minor issues - this morning our drains were clogged and I filed a work request that was completed by the time I got home from work!
Very professional and trustworthy. They took over Vallejo units after Acute Property and handled my end of lease with a positive note, even though we had a disagreement about the terms of my contract with the previous company. I also admire the upgrades they made to the grounds and units (although I ended my lease to find a home with a yard for my dog).
My experience with Cornerstone has not been the best. There is no security for my building and I have had to call the police on numerous occasions for a scary neighbor. Management seems eager to help sometimes and sometimes not so much. There are often broken locks on the door leading to the alley entrance to the building. There are cracks in the walls and they are incredibly thin (I can hear the neighbor sneeze).
While I have lived here the recycling has been removed from the building. The "free" wifi has never worked at a functioning level. My rent was significantly raised upon lease renewal. It took the manager over a year to get my name in the call box. I've come home to water running down the wall from the upstairs neighbor. And last, the heat system that has been described to me by Cornerstone maintenance as "really really old" is unreliable. There temperature is rarely at a comfortable level and I have no thermostat.
Been living at E Evans Apartments for many years, even before cornerstone bought the property. Since cornerstone took over everything has gone downhill. It seems like every other week we get a warning about a new buyer that will be coming by to see the building & our units or that managenment will be coming in units for measurements for the 100th time always very short notice. Mailboxes broken, mold, and run down building. When you put in a service request management will reply to say it was completed but they actually never even set foot in unit & management will give you the runaround even after you let them know you were home all day and no one came. If you get mad at the management incompetance or make any mistakes they threaten you saying you are violating your lease and treat you like a kid. Unless you complain with a smile they will say you are being hostile toward managemnt which is against lease contract and they will evict you w/o returning any deposits!!! The one and only time I ever made a one day late rent payment to cornerstone I made sure to fix the problem ASAP. I apologized and dropped off my check at the management office & paid all the late fees. TWO DAYS LATER after all payments already made, management left eviction notice on my front door for all to see saying I would be evicted if I did not make a rent payment. Cornerstone does not care about residents or building. Very unorganized and not professional
Cornerstone is amazing - I have lived in the same apartment for 5+ years and have been taken care of in every way, shape and form. Matt Melander is the best manager and is always so kind and willing to help, and Mario just painted my apartment and did a phenomenal job!! I would recommend Cornerstone to anyone in Denver :)
Super grateful to have a maintenance man like Noah taking care of our building! In addition to being kind and friendly (I've lived here for three years and am so happy when I bump into him and get to catch up), Noah is really great at his job. He's thorough about all of his work and keeps our place in excellent condition.
Shout out to amazing service and a huge thanks to Lucas! After a fall through with an apartment (company shall not be named), I contacted Cornerstone to search for an apartment immediately. Lucas was so helpful on both providing me a list of my preferences for potential locations and setting up viewings within an hour! (Side note, I had moved to Denver from Chicago and had a uHaul full of stuff that I couldn't move anywhere and time was of the essence). As soon as I saw the apartments and how well they were kept, they had me! Alex was the person who took time to show me the apartments and was straight forward and communicative.
Again, so helpful! I couldn't be happier with the service, the apartment, and ease of move-in!
Great staff and service, any time we have had a issue it has been fixed by the next day. Jarrod does a great job and has always gone above and beyond the call of duty. Would highly recommend!
Even before my move to Red Owl, maintenance man, Maged, was kind enough to offer to install my drapery rods & curtains, and secured them well. He went out of his way to meet me on a Sunday afternoon to do the work. I really appreciate it, and can't wait to move in.
We have leased with Cornerstone for about 6 months now. In that period of time, the repairs our place has needed have been small but important. A couple days ago I had dropped an important piece of jewelry down the sink drain by accident. Not certain of what could be done, I requested service to retrieve my necklace. Today, I received a voicemail from our service technician, Ray. He had run out of service tags but took the time to reach out and let me know he had gotten the necklace, put everything back together and even went out of his way to put the necklace in a cup of warm water because it had gotten dirty in the drain. This level of care and professionalism goes far beyond what I have experienced from any other repair/management service. I can t say how much I appreciated the extra step, and this is only one instance of kind, professional service providers we have encountered through Cornerstone. 5 stars every time.
Shout out to Daniel the service tech for the Eaton Apartments. He is very reliable and always follows through. It s a great feeling having a service tech you can trust!
Shout out to Mark from the wonderful Cornerstone maint crew! Passing along kudos to Mark is way overdue! Every time we see him around our building (Mark III), he's always friendly and makes us feel at home. He just swung by today checking out the fire/carbon dioxide detectors, and if we have any issues, he's always been on top of it. Maybe it's just nice to see a friendly face stop by these days! :) Thanks Mark!
Wonderful and quick servicing and management so far. It is quite refreshing to have a legitimate and competent management company come in and fix everything that FourStar Realty neglected for over and over again. Jarrod is the best maintenance man around! Quick on call, and always helpful. I used to not trust the random contracted maintenance crews that the FourStar Realty group would send into our unit (without notice); however, I feel like very safe with Jarrod and the rest of Cornerstone's group of maintenance workers coming into our apartment while I'm not at home. Shout out to Jarrod, he's the man!
I've been in Cornerstone for 8 month now and I would like to give special thanks to Michael Melamed for the perfect management and to Ryan Hagaman for an excellent customer service.
My experience with Cornerstone was great. I lived there for almost 5 years before deciding to move back to the East Coast. The apartment was great, and the few times I needed to call about a repair, it was taken care of immediately. Also, I just wanted to say a few words about Rob, one of the repairmen here as Toscana. Rob is great. He is hard working and has a great attitude. He was an absolute pleasure to deal with.
Michael Creech went above and beyond in finding a handle for my older dishwasher. He explored options, found the part, and texted me the next day for install. He came right by, fixed the handle, and had the dishwasher up and running within minutes. Great work and great personality!
I've been a tenant in one Cornerstone's buildings for a few years and have had exclusively positive experiences with their team. Justin, my property manager is friendly and easy to work with and has gone above and beyond multiple times. Michael, the maintenance tech is amazingly efficient, skilled, and friendly.
Heat in my unit went out, within a few hours they brought me space heaters and the next morning Michael was in my unit and obviously was very experienced with the heating system. He had it fixed quickly and was friendly and interesting to talk to. Have had nothing but good experiences with these folks.
awesome customer service. Dylan Star (office manager) was super helpful, friendly and solution-oriented. Overall, its clear this company cares about the satisfaction and happiness of it's tenants (which is RARE for realty companies) and you see it reflected in how they treat their customers. keep up the good work, guys!
Recently had my first experience with maintenance. My request was resolved within 24hrs and the service rendered by Daniel was prompt and courteous. Very well organized property management.
I just moved into B Street LoHi and I love it. The building is awesome and the maintenance crew is outstanding. Jarrod specifically came to fix several of my appliances that were acting up and went above and beyond to address all of the issues. He was quick, efficient and very pleasant to be around!
Noah does a fantastic job! He goes above and beyond to help the tenants who live in cornerstone properties. Cornerstone apartments could absolutely use some upgrades (and better washers and dryers), but overall we enjoy living here.
Just moved to Denver a couple of weeks ago, but Cornerstone has been wonderful thus far. Had our first interaction with the handyperson, Noah M., today; he was kind and did a fantastic job replacing the weatherstripping on our front door and fixing a couple of other things, too. He even noticed an issue with the lock that we missed and resolved that on the spot.
This review was written to primarily reflect the unprofessionalism of Arek Chucovich. Throughout our experience with Arek, he never answered his emails or returned his phone calls; all supporting my conclusion that he is merely a weak property manager with poor communication skills. Maybe a sign the cornerstone needs to reevaluate his performance going forward. I am glad that our building is under new management and ownership.
Jake Haffey is a professional maintenance man from Cornerstone who came in & fixed my problem! He was polite about the noise & took care of all my concerns! You guys are a pleasure to work with! I highly recommend your company to anyone who asks!
Steven Woolen came by to fix our toilet today, didn't have the part he needed in the truck, so he went to ace to pick one up. Very speedy service, and on a weekend too! Thanks Steven!
Wow, what a great company! I thought finding a place to live here would be really tough. Alex was amazing and showed me a place that I absolutely love. Shauna and Ted are also both really fantastic and great to work with. Everyone has been efficient, friendly, professional, and reasonable. This was my first time moving across country and they all made it very easy. I'm so grateful. Thanks guys!
A year later and I can say they are an absolutely wonderful company to deal with. So effiicient, friendly, and reasonably priced. Love them. Would definitely recommend them to all.
I've lived in various apartments all around the country and have dealt with a lot of property management companies. Cornerstone is by far the best. Maintenance issues are resolved promptly, portfolio managers are kind and attentive, and properties are looked after and kept clean. Maggie, Colin, and Shauna have all been great to work with.
I recently had an issue with my fridge and Cornerstone quickly arranged for a new one to be installed, no questions asked. Daniel C. from the maintenance team was really awesome - he even carefully moved all of my food and condiments from the old fridge into the new one. He did such a good job putting everything back where it was that it didn't even look like the fridge had been switched out! Needless to say I highly recommend Cornerstone if you're looking for a place to live.
I had a few maintenance issues that got resolved quickly and professionally by Daniel Carraso. He was really nice and was in and out in a jiffy! We even had a great conversation about basketball!
Cornerstone picked up my property from a AFC realty and turned the beat down place into a little gem. From the get go they were on top of any little maintenance need I had (I had a laundry list simply bc the building is old an not well cared for). The maintenance person Daniel helped me out of a couple of emergency situations quickly including my power being out, flooded kitchen sink (due to nearby construction) and losing my mailbox key. So far so good. No complaints. RFL
Renting was easy and convenient. I rented an apartment at Greenwood apartments in Lakewood, Co. I had NO bugs!!!!!! I called once about the trash service and it was resolved right away. Neighbors were quite and respectful. I received 95% of my deposit back and was charged for painting touch ups only which was fair. Great experience for me
Ray has always been an excellent maintenance tech. Very polite, and always solves my issues rapidly and precisely. He has always explained my problem as to where I understand what is going on and what he is doing to solve it!
The staff at Cornerstone has been exceptional and very easy to work with. I want to give a special shout out to Cara Young and Lucas Murdock for their responsiveness, thoroughness, and overall willingness to go above and beyond to help residents.
Thanks for all you do and I sincerely appreciate it!
I ve been renting from Cornerstone for a little under a year at this point and they have been nothing but great from the start! I spent a lot of time searching for good property managers to rent from and Cornerstone really stood out from the rest and helped make my decision a little easier.
I was reluctant to post a review until I had been renting for an extended period of time and I m happy to say I ve been nothing but satisfied. Great leasing process, very accurate depictions of the properties they rent, and quick communications!
I ve needed a few maintenance requests since moving in and each one has been addressed very professionally! Most recently Michael Creech helped me fix an electrical issue much sooner than I expected it to be resolved and most importantly he handled my cat with great care. I love my little buddy and I know he can be a bit of handful for anyone who needs to do maintenance on the apartment, but Michael kept all my notes in mind and kept my cat safe while he worked, which I am really grateful for!
I ve been very happy with my renting experience and look forward to staying with Cornerstone for the future.
We've been renting at the Red Owl property for about a year and have had lots of stolen packages and mice in our apartment with virtually no assistance for either issue. Nothing in the complex is made to last - just made on the cheap - Dryer barely works, Garage door breaks down every month resulting in stolen property (in cars, packages, robbers have full access to building once they get into the garage), walls are paper thin so you hear everything in the complex. Once we shut the door our patio and we couldnt get back into the apartment - the door locked on the INSIDE. Faulty locks that they tried to get us to pay for. Problem after problem - it doesn't matter how cheap the property is - not worth it.
Thank you Noah, for always providing such fast and friendly maintenance requests! I truly appreciate the scheduling of an appointment and you have always been right on time, very friendly, and you quickly repair the issues!
Cornerstone is great! I have lived in their building for over three years now and love it. They keep the properties clean and up to date. Whenever, I need something looked at or fixed, they are there the next day and it is taken care.
Cornerstone is a great apartment management company. They take good care of their buildings and are amazingly responsive to any issues. Maintenance is there the next day if not same day for any issue and the property managers are very helpful timely in their responses as well. I would definitely recommend renting through Cornerstone in Denver!
I've had a great experience with Cornerstone apartments. It is well managed, communication from management is excellent. The apartment was clean when we moved in and our year stay here has been hassle-free. Any maintenance requests (all minor repairs) were responded to quickly and efficiently.
Property is well kept and quiet. Nice to have parking and internet included and I feel like price is amazing! I have been here a year and will be renewing my lease. Very happy with this company.
They won't do anything to address storage locker break ins or mail theft at my OR my boyfriend's building. They own half o f denver so they can afford the bare minimum but they won't take our concerns seriously, as you can see in their replies to other reviews where they try to blame the residents.
I rented from a small local company in Capitol Hill and loved it. My building was bought by Cornerstone after a year. I was very concerned that the place would fall apart and rent would jump up. I was pleasantly surprised. Cornerstone left my rent at the same rate for a whole 12 months (and I was on month-to-month! They could have raised it any time.) AND they kept the place as nice (if not nicer) than it had been previously. Ted Behrand was fantastic to work with, and when I eventually did move out, it was a breeze.
If you value your life do not move into a cornerstone apartment. In the under three months that I ve lived at 1250 Sherman we have had a black metallic substance regurgitating from our bathtub, an arson, and my ceiling collapsed from a old water pipe. The manager Jaret refused to test for lead in the tub and mold from the leak despite clear evidence of both because as he states they are not required . Furthermore, after the arson which took place at 3 am, not a single employee from cornerstone showed up until 11am the next morning. Broken glass everywhere and the whole complex smelled like smoke/fire. A few days later their was a notice from the fire department on the front door of our building because they had failed to get their alarms inspected. I am not one to leave Reviews but I have a three-year-old daughter and am truly concerned about the extreme negligence of this company and want to make sure any potential renter knows the type of company they are working with. I have photos and emails of all the aforementioned and plan to submit everything to the city housing inspectors and better business bureau.
Look at the reviews and you will see a common theme of low reviews with a lot of likes. Every person has their different story but it comes down to this with cornerstone you are 100% a number to them. I had my fair share of issues from a lower neighbor how slammed things around his apartment regularly to one of my other neighbors apartment being broken into which got "resolved" by adding a gate without a lock to the apartment and telling us to deal with it. I was put of town for the summer due to illness that resulted in death in the family over the summer during which time my account ran below the amount required to pay rent on the first. When they contacted me they did not state any urgency to pay and noted that I had had the conversation and would pay the rent as well as the fact that I was planning to move out. Tom called me a week later to inform me I was being charged with a 250 dollar attorney fee and that I couldn't move out since I didn't give notice. Then when I explained I had told it to the other employee he agreed to move my move put date forward to the 30th of August. I just got an email today demanding that I pay septembers rent and an attorney fee for an apartment I haven't been in for almost a half month now. The explanation if it happens to you will be exactly the same "That I did not give you a reminder is a mistake concerning customer service, but ultimately, the lease agreement is the determining factor." -tom lorenzen. Do not pay for other peoples mistakes and do not rent cornerstone.
Almost perfect time living at the two Cornerstone properties I was at. Leasing, renewal, and rent payment were all a breeze. Very friendly portfolio managers that were responsive and courteous. Maintenance for the most part was professional and fast.
Taking off one star for an issue with the laundry at our last property. The washers broke and took an unacceptably long time to replace. On top of that, the price for a load of laundry on the new units went up quite a bit for no real reason that we could see.
Cornerstone has been an incredibly wonderful company to work with. Every person I have interacted with at Cornerstone has been extremely professional and caring towards myself and my roommates. Any concerns that we have brought to them has been promptly resolved in a friendly manner - they provide an easy breezy renting experience. Big shout out to Maggie, one of the account managers, she is incredibly kind and offers helpful communication. Another shout out to the techs that have worked with us, Amy, Daniel and Mark as they have all been incredibly skilled and respectful when working in our unit. If you are looking for somewhere to rent in Denver, keep Cornerstone on the top of your list!
Noa is absolutely great! He came to fix the door of my oven within a day despite a winter storm and heavy snow conditions. He fixed it in less than 5 minutes. Highly recommend.
Cornerstone purchased my building early this year. They have since had several ongoing projects with little to no respect for privacy and/or tenant convenience. In addition, they are raising my rent almost 60% with little over months notice to vacate or pay this absurd rent. This is a low ethics, money hungry company. I'd suggest looking elsewhere.
I put in a work order on a Saturday for broken gas stove and garbage disposal. Daniel fixed both on Monday, sooner than I expected! He also sent me an email letting me know, which was a nice touch. It was great coming home to working appliances.
Colin, the manager for my building, has also been timely and helpful when things come up.
Seriously - Arek and Kristin who manage my building are nothing short of Gods. I've been known to be a bit much..and my dad says I would make a great witness because I notice EVERYTHING.. so of course.. I've never hesitated to alert them to issues I notice .. ( im sure they regret giving me their email addresses:) but seriously though, my concerns are always heard and handled in a timely fashion, the maintenance team at Cornerstone is hands down one of the best I've dealt with in all my years of renting apartments.. and I've done so all over the country and the world. - they respond quickly and they keep you in the loop if they can't finish it themselves. I especially appreciate the fact they leave a note if you're not home and they've been inside..even when I grant authorization it''s a good detail that for me shows consistency with what they do. I love love my building and Im really grateful that Cornerstone has hired professional, personable people who take their jobs seriously who also understand the nuances of dealing with residents. Thanks!
Had a great experience with cornerstone's maintenance team. Daniel Carrasco had to cut a hole in the ceiling of my unit to fix a broken pipe that was causing a big leak. After the pipe was replaced he patched and sanded were the hole was and had John the painter come in and paint over the patch. If you look at the ceiling now you couldn't tell it was ever cut open. Great work and both very friendly guys.
We ve lived at Vitruvius almost 4 years now and love it, great sense of community and the management pays attention to the needs. Wanted to especially thank James and Ethen, who we always see keeping our neighborhood beautiful and are happy to lend a hand with odd stuff. Thanks guys, and cornerstone!
Horrible management company. They took over the apartments where my grandmother lived for 25 years at Sakura Square. I grew up going to visit Sakura square to visit my grandma. It was always well maintained. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Since cornerstone took over it's terrible. They never take care of the building. The halls are always dirty and the elevator reeked of animal urine. My grandmother's apartment air conditioning never worked. They would "fix it"and then it would continue not to work. My grandmother became ill and the vultures were trying to make it hard as possible for her to resign her lease. My grandma succumbed to her illness and passed away peacefully in her apartment surrounded my her family. Jake Smith, the horrible manager of Cornerstone for the building, had the gull to come take measurements of her apartment less than an an hour after she passed away. I've never been so disgusted by a management company. I will never rent with them. To see how they treated my grandma who rented there for so long was sickening.
Maintenance is A++, which can really make or break an apartment! Dusko has been standout. Any time I submit a request, he reaches out within minutes and has had anything fixed within the hour, even offering to fix my own treadmill that I hadn't been able to get fixed elsewhere for months (incredible!!).
I've been with Cornerstone for almost 10 months now and I cannot stress enough how professional and responsive they are. They really take care of us. Cara Young is our property manager and has been patient and attentive, any problem I have is addressed almost immediately.
I lived in one of Cornerstone Property's, off of Lincoln and Center, for three years. While it's not one of their more extravagant properties, their attention to upkeep, tenant satisfaction, and communication from property manager (Matt M) are what kept me a faithful tenant. The only reason I'm not still with them is because I chose to live in a part of town that they don't currently have properties. The reverence of property management-tenant relationship is hard to come by in Denver- thank you Cornerstone!
I had some maintenance work I needed done, and Cornerstone sent the right guy for the job. Daniel Carrasco was awesome! Polite, prompt, and very helpful. Definitely appreciate the maintenance support from Conerstone, and specifically from Daniel!
Noah is always super prompt and efficient, anytime we ever have a maintenance issue, Michael and Keith are great how available and responsive they are every time we reach out to their office.
I had an issue with my shower handle and hot water after hours. A Gentleman name Wyatt came out promptly and knocked the issue out quickly. He did an amazing job, kept me informed, was very courteous and cleaned up after he was complete. I have never had such a good experience with a company and a maintenance issue! Thank you Wyatt!
Whatever you do, do not live at a Cornerstone apartments. This is the worst apartment and management company I have ever dealt with. I recently moved out and could not be happier about this. See below for a list of problems I had at Clarkson Commons, a Cornerstone property: 1. The walls are paper thin. I could hear everything my neighbors did. On top of that, the building itself creeks and makes noises at all times. If you are light sleeper, LOOK ELSEWHERE. It was impossible to fall asleep many times because of all the noise. 2. The apartment wifi is awful. When I first moved in I attempted to get Century Link service but never established connectivity, so I had to resort to using the building wifi. (This was both Cornerstone and Century Link's fault). I worked from home a couple of times but constantly had connectivity issues which kept me from getting anything done. Wifi was not good enough for my laptop, apple tv, or my phone. There was even a full month where the wifi was completely down. I expect better. 3. Pretty sure they do not fully clean the apartment between moves. There were many things around the apartment that were not up to par when I moved in. 4. Temperature regulation is a joke. My apartment was constantly a swamp despite my best efforts. 5. Management is uncooperative. I asked about subleasing my apartment but was told outright that I could not do so with absolutely no explanation. I was forced to pay a lease break fee.
My apartment looked nice moving in.....( the Harvey Allen 206 S Grant) there is no way to controll the heat which is so loud it will keep you up all night every night. Packages are always stolen from the front. The laundary is always filled with pet hair and other things you do not want. Homeless hangout in the back in the summer smoking drugs they leave behind and it isnt weed. The building next door is a womens metal health facility, which is the least of the problems. The back door does not close and after putting in a work order to fix it, well they put up a paper note on the door stating that tenants need to make sure the door is closed. The building manager, Cara, rewards bad behavior by paying for rugs for tenants that obviously make EXCESSIVE noise with their pets. (After audio evidense has been presented numerous times over and over to Cornserstone). If you want to pay full price for an old apartment that allows neighbors to play with thier large dogs and their friends dogs ( that are not allowed by the lease ) indoors at all hours on the third floor with wooden floors.....This is the apartment for you! Please do not rent this place ! I have resorted to not spending any time at my apartment because no one will do anything! I do not feel comfortable living or spending any time at my apartment that I alone pay full price for and I feel that I have no one to voice my legit concerns to. Renter please please beware!!!! I would NEVER live here again and am counting down the days until I can leave!
My apartment became under Cornerstone management last year and portfolio manager Justin Ulfig has been great. He is very professional and helpful. I am in the process of moving to a different apartment within Cornerstone and Justin has been instrumental and his assistance is appreciated!
We ve had really good maintenance service w/ Daniel Carrasco, our buildings maintenance person. He is always super timely and gets things done within a day or two. He s also a friendly person and I felt comfortable having him in our apartment. Thanks Daniel!
Also - Colin, our building manager, has been very helpful and quick to respond to any questions/concerns.
Judd did a great job of quickly finding and fixing a leaking drain pipe behind our wall that was causing water to drip from the bathroom ceiling. He had to cut out part of the wall and ceiling to fix it. When he was done it looked as good as new.
Overall I have had a good experience with this company. Management has generally been very available and problems taken care of quickly. Had one issue where it took them a little while to fix that resulted in some loss of property, but they subtracted the value of my losses from my rent which was appreciated. Would recommend to others.
Do not rent from Cornerstone!!!!! Make sure to look over your lease. They will not cover property damage or personal injury from fire, smoke, rain, flood, mold, WATER and PIPE LEAKS, hail, ice, snow, lightening, etc. My apartment roof suffered damage from the hail storm on Monday. The roof developed a leak which flooded through the 2nd story ceiling into my bedroom and then continued to leak into the first floor, damaging my personal property. Cornerstone is not covering the cost of ANY of my personal items and will not pay the $500 deductible for my renters insurance to cover my things. My bedroom is not livable and my bed is completely ruined. They are not taking any responsibility for their faulty roof and unkempt maintenance. BE CAREFUL!
They bribe the staff to fish for 5 star reviews. Don't trust them. Especially if the reviews mention someone by name, which is.....oh yeah, ALL OF THEM!
I've lived in a Cornerstone property for almost 6 months. I pay my rent on time; never late, I have no issues with my neighbors, and I've been pretty proactive with questions or concerns if I have them.
I live on the first floor, street level. I completely understood the fact that there would be foot traffic, however there is a gate to the driveway that has been CROWBARRED open so it can't ever be shut, trash flies all over the driveway from the dumpsters (that have cockroaches all over them) - trash flies around and hits my windows, homeless people peer into me and my neighbor's windows and yell at us, and nothing has been done about it -- after many attempts to have the issues resolved. Several residents have commented on the very unsafe and unsanitary conditions, but nothing has been done about it...
The washing machines are the same story. One of them doesn't even drain the water from the machine, after they "repaired it" ... (there are only 2 machines for all 3 floors).
There have been cockroaches in my kitchen, bathroom, living room... after switching the dates and not providing me with prep material until the day before, when they showed up they couldn t do anything .
There is no security at all. I was told that Denver Police patrols the property.... I'm an officer myself. I have never once seen patrol around the complex.
I contacted my "property manager" about these issues almost immediately after moving in, and was assured they would resolve these issues. My neighbor did the same, one if the newer tenants as well. Of course, NOTHING was done.
Finally, after getting yelled at for probably the six hundredth time by a homeless individual - very clearly on drugs -- threatening me and kicking my windows, I realized how incredibly unsafe and miserable I am living here.
I cannot stand to live like this, so I decided I would move.
I walked into the office, and advised the secretary of all of the issues of the apartment. She was incredibly kind and told me she would forward the information to my property manager, and if she were the property manager, she would waive my lease breaking fee. NOPE. They don't care if you're unsafe, they don't care if you've been a perfect tenant; they just want your money.
My property manager contacted me days after I walked into the office, and I was told I should have told him about the issues earlier. I had been.... my neighbors had been. They didn't care then, and they certainly don't care now.
Today, 12-08-18, I called the police after witnessing a man shooting up right outside of my window. Gates getting fixed though? Sure, we ve been hearing that for months. They give no mind to the safety of their residents. They want your money and that s all they care about.
Don't rent from these people. Biggest renting mistake I've ever made.
Cornerstone Mgmt. pulls through strong yet again with the maintenance team. Donald came and fulfilled a work order for a mirror falling off my wall within 2 hours of placing it. He was using protective gear (which is considerate given the circumstances) and was extremely kind and helpful throughout the whole interaction. This whole team consistently provides the positive resident relationship renters look for. I am so very grateful for this company. <3
We've filed a number of maintenance requests in the 3 years we've lived on Cornerstone properties, and they always get completed extremely quickly. Whether it's a garbage disposal or a light bulb, Daryl is professional, fast, friendly, and gets everything working like new.
