Great gift shops, amazing views of the bay and trees if you take one of the glass elevators up to the top. Restaurant on 16th floor has 360 degree view.

Really nice place, has a lot to offer for entertainment for the entire family. The location is beautiful, as well as convenient as its located near the beach and has plenty of good stores around the area.
Overall I have a good experience at Grand Traverse Resort every time I stay here. While the experience is good, I would not consider it great. Improvements could be made in delighting customers, and there are areas of the hotel that need to be updated.
Don't stay at hotel. Paper thin walls, noisy, we had a bad breakfast at Sweetwater. Tower and shops nice. Pay up for stay but bad food clincher
The grounds are beautiful. The food was amazing. And the staff was friendly and helpful. Loved our dinner there!
Attended the iceman bike race expo. The facilities were will maintained and clean. It's a large event and there was still plenty of parking.
Room in the tower was advertised as newly renovated. Clearly renovations were performed several years ago. Furniture has damage. Hair on tile as you enter shower. Mirrors had what appeared to be boogers and streaks. Entire room was dusty. Bathroom floors were very dirty. Crumbs in drawers. Carpets fraying. Painting was poorly done, splatters on tile, trim light fixtures. Heaven forbid someone should need to use the facilities! No exhaust fan in the bathroom so all room occupants are forced to smell the last person's business! Heating duct cover falling out of wall. Windows were so dirty it was almost impossible to take pictures out of.
Favorite resort in area but years have taken toll. Some areas unsightly like carpet pulling up and bathrooms need renovating and overall cleanliness could improve. My husband even saw a mouse in the lobby on Saturday morning! Not enough done to keep in paying visitors out of pools and such.
Excellent customer service and the room was very neat and clean. I've stayed here 4 times in the last 15 months. I enjoyed every time.
I stayed at the resort for a conference. I did expect with price and fees ($193...148 + taxes and resort fee) that I would have a relaxing evening. I expect some noise. The walls and doors in the tower are not very well constructed. I could here the screaming and crying next door well until 1am. I heard every person walking by chatting. The neighbors next door pulled down the rolling blinds and I thought they were in my room. The bed was comfortable. The room very clean. Mini fridge, sink, nicely decorated, but none of that matters if the walls are so thin you cant get a good night's rest. Also had issues with check in and a purchase in the toy shop with computer malfunctions. I guess I expect more for a resort in TC.
Nice, updated and modern room with a view. Love the shower. Cute shops and food in the lobby area. Service is good, even though our room wasn't ready when we arrived, it has been a good stay.
So we decided to stay here for a night or 2 the front desk was very friendly the rooms are clean very basic i would not recommend staying in the tower for an extra 100.00 the rooms in the tower have been renovated so basically they are the rooms you should get for the same price as the other rooms the only difference is a mini fridge which the other rooms should come with to but don't the standard room was clean everything worked fine bathroom seemed to be clean shower/bath was ok had hot water my room was very quiet had alot of different food and the 2 pools one inside and one out side looked very nice and clean we did a 80 min spa treatment ive definitely staying in nicer hotel rooms dont think id pay more then 200 for a night definitely not 300.00 a night definitely not a Marriott but still nice.
Celebrated our 30th Anniversary.
Great atmosphere, food, service and views.
Will go there again.
Very helpful staff. Our room was very comfortable and what a view.
Had a gift card for the spa, did the turquoise sage scrub & lotion. It was awesome!
I think the hotel is nice. They go bit far to force people to eat at their restaurant (charge $15 a night to have a microwave in your room).
Great place for a convention/conference but bring a sweater (especially in the summer!). The air conditioner is definitely on and the meeting rooms are pretty cold.
The food is great (if sometimes over priced).
The staff is great. They were very helpful and kind.
Five stars for sure everything is awesome! I wish I lived closer I'd go there more often
Neighboring room was two nights of excessively noisy people. Worst was continusely crying baby. ALL NIGHT!
We haven't stayed in the towers yet but the rooms are older but comfortable. I was a little disappointed we don't have at least a mini fridge but overall, the beds are comfortable and the showers have good water pressure. The Spa is a completely different story... it's by far the REASON we come (or at least for me)...the staff is super friendly and in all the massages I've had over several years, every time we have one at Grand Traverse, it is by far one of the most relaxing. The facilities are great and extremely family friendly.
The worst nights sleep I have had in the past year. (And I have stayed over 200 nights in 70 hotels since January). Up until 10pm everything was ok. At this point in time the paper thin walls of our 3rd floor room became all too transparent. A couple ladies cackled wildly over something being watched in their drunken stupor in the other side of a door that could join the two rooms was challenged for it s loudness by what sound like a coed teen fight in the room on the other side of us. Hallway noise of people running and holding other conversations in the hallway would occasionally interrupt the noise of the other 2 symphonies of chaos. Not impressed and most likely will not return.
Only complaint is pool is far from majority of rooms
The room was beautiful and clean, the staff were professional and the food was phenomenal. Too bad it was a professional conference instead of a family vacation!
Please save your money, its out dated and the ac is loud and makes it hard to sleep. Most disappointed in the fact they mandate the mask, but they are not cleaning points of contact, ice machines and elevator buttons. I would stay again if it were half the price, there are much nicer hotels on the main drag with better veiws for less.
Amazing!! Everyone there is always super nice and friendly.
I like the stores and location and views but the windows were dirty and beds were not comfortable.
Room was very clean and modern. Restaurants had good food and a large variety of items. Shuttle to the casino every 30 minutes.
Our family loves going here. They also have a small indoor water park that's good for kids up to like 10 or 11.
High quality accommodations but a little sleepy in comparison to other hotels.
Grand Traverse Resort has a 72 hour cancellation policy which is "nickel and dimming" customers. I cancelled 48 hours before my stay and got charged 173.00.
RIDICULOUS!!
Went there for a business meeting. Staff was helpful in locating the people I was there to see.
Rooms weren't the cleanest and just wasn't very impressed
So Awesome! We had a tower room for our honeymoon and the service was amazing for the entire weekend!
Great and accomodating staff with luxurious rooms and condos.
Entire experience was top notch. Fantastic rooms and Aerie has the best food and service. Highly recommended staying here. Overwhelming sense of luxury.
The facilities were nice, but the staff were all extremely pleasant!
We ve stayed here several times over the years; have alway had a good experience. This was the first time we d been there since 2007, and it wasn t so great. The front desk people were a bit less than courteous. After they finally found our reservation, they put us in rooms that were not adjoining; so we had to move. We booked rooms in the tower; they gave us rooms on the first floor - next to the pool. Everything was clean; but there was no safe, no refrigerator, the bathroom sinks were at our knees - although not because they were handicap accessible. The toilet leaked all over the floor from the tank. The water in the shower went back and forth from hot to cold, and the water pressure was terrible. The beds and pillows were the worst we ve ever seen in a hotel. Overall, the rooms were that of a 2 star hotel - not the four star you re paying for at the Grand. As always, Jacks bar, and Katie, were the highlight of our stay; we won t pay to stay here again though.
First class, beautiful hotel, restaurants and shops.
I went to a camber of commerce show there. The "resort" is a big glass tower that looks out of place on the landscape. Rooms are expensive and you have all the recreation and services under one roof so you never need to leave and go out to explore the great up north and what it has to offer. The best thing I can say about is that it dosen't have a casino. Great for business commotion with a view.
Nice, clean accommodations. Large pool. 3 hot tubs!
My husband and I had such a wonderful stay to celebrate my 40th birthday. We stayed in the Tower. The room was nice, staff was friendly, food and service was great, and everything looked clean and festive. Big shout out to Troy at the lobby lounge who kept our glasses full and constant laughs (Troy, I m still waiting for my bottle of Butter Chardonnay ). The only suggestion we have is for a minor all over renovation for little things like missing ceiling tiles, hanging fire alarms, and peeling paint. Nothing major that we noticed, just little things that could help the overall ambiance.
Great food, clean rooms, and amazing view of the Bay!!!
If anyone is searching for deals for hotel rooms go over to . reserved a hotel room on there and these guys had the best prices worldwide!
Spa was excellent. Very professional and covid contious. Rooms are nice, great views from the tower.
Nice, clean hotel. Recently remodeled room, but could use some updating in the common areas (lobby, restaurants, pool, etc). Best and only real resort in the area.
Facility is gorgeous with several unique shops. Food at my seminar wasn't to my liking and the seminar room was too cold, but otherwise very comfortable. I would prefer the conference rooms to have clocks.
Took the kids to Dylan's candy shop. What a fun little place. I think I had more fun then our kids.
I love this place. So much to do there. A little pricey but Awsome place to go.
Rooms were clean and nice. Staff is very friendly. Overall a fine experience.
Service extremely slow and did not know what they were doing at the only restaurant that was open. Most parts were closed most of the time. Very poor value for money.
We were visiting a friend and used the pool. The outdoor hot tub is amazing!
Stayed two nights for a conference. Room and corridors appear old and tired. Cleanliness of room was iffy. Coffee maker in room was disgusting, hair dryer quit halfway through my hair. Person at front desk said "I'll be sure to let them know that" On the flip side, waitress in the Bistro was awesome and the server who brought coffee in the morning was a ray of sunshine!
We had a couples massage it was overall pretty nice. Wish there were more signs or a better tour of the way the spa/pool was laid. My fiance said there was no towels in the men's locker room, however the woman's had plenty.
Fantastic Easter Brunch at Aerie. Our tradition lives on. 5th yr now and this one was best. Great service and fantastic food!
We have our work PDD day there at least once a year. So I don't have much to say. BUT I will say the bathrooms are usually pretty clean on our breaks we have.
Overall the hotel was okay. The rooms are dated and the bathroom was very small, which was inconvenient for a family of 4. The pool was the best part. Our kids (age 7 and 9) loved it. Unfortunately, we had a bad experience at the resturant (Jacks) with very slow service and no acknowledgement or apologies from the staff. I'm not sure I would recommend this hotel to a friend if they were looking for accommodations in the area.
Wonderful Birthday weekend with delicious meals at the restaurants and the spa services were so relaxing.
I wish I could say it was a great first time birthday weekend experience..but they need to upgrade the hotel..beds we're NOT comfortable at all! Check in was rough and overall hotel needs some serious upgrades!! The best was Aeries reaturant!!
Tge condos were not as nice as I'd expect the bed was miserable. Great amenities and friendly staff. You will not be bored. Incredible scenery.
Rooms where very clean food was decent but nothing to brag about. The pool and gold course where amazing and rooms had stunning views. Great attractions all around and 15 mins away from travercitys.
We golfed at The Wolverine to celebrate my wife's bday. The course had beautiful views, and we enjoyed the open course. The staff was very friendly, and the drink cart was prompt all day.
We walked in to the counter and Ashley, checked us in. She was literally so rude, unwelcoming and cold, that alone made me want to cancel and go home because it's too late to find another place. Then when we asked if we could split the payment between us three girls, she said as "long as one of you has 759 to hold it til you check out" never said have a good stay or even pointed us to the elevators.
Just to walk to room 304 to have it be look like it was worned down. All in all to celebrate a first cherry festival. Not the best. Will never come back. Save your money
Great service, the restaurants had really good food but the whole resort could use an update including the rooms. For that kind of money they charge, the rooms and bathrooms better be a few years old. Currently you could find someone's lost fanny pack from 1992 in any of the rooms.
Even with the COVID-19 regulation and fear, this hotel was very accommodating. Money well spent. Hope to visit again and remember my clubs this time.
The room was beautiful, but unfortunately the resort was overrun by young soccer players, who appeared to be completely unchaperoned. The noise level was unbelievable, and the pool was a madhouse. Rather unacceptable for an expensive resort.
We did have one other complaint....they were rather stingy with toiletries. We were given one bar of soap, and it was about the size of my thumb, lol.
The tower rooms are all re-done. The view is spectacular and the people are friendly. The pools are great but disappointed that they took out all the jaccuzzi rooms plus 1 jacuzzi by each pool. The psrking can be a problem if there are events going on.
