As a Wedding planner we have done a indian wedding there.. There service is good. They support very well. And specially need to thanks to Supun who helped us in many ways for the success of that wedding. Only thing needs to improve is taste of the food and for the breakfast needs to change the menu daily..

We really enjoyed our stay here, but there are a few points to complain about. + Great view from the rooms + Great location + Clean rooms and a very well-kept hotel + Friendly and courteous staff + Great pool + Clean and beautiful beach - contrary to what many have written, water is suitable for swimmers for swimming. Of course it is not advisable to let children bathe unsupervised and of course the Indian Ocean cannot be compared to the Mediterranean. Of course there are currents (oceans have that kind of thing) but people who can swim won't have any problems here. (The red flag almost always flies. However, this usually has the background that the beach, like almost every other beach in Sri Lanka, is not guarded by lifeguards.
- Annoying vendors and self-appointed tour guides on the beach. - The room was poorly soundproofed (a railway line passed the hotel in the immediate vicinity). - Buffet food little international and not very culinary. The national food was very tasty but there was little choice (no steak or pork chop, rarely noodles, no fries, no burgers or pizza) - there was never seafood at the buffet. You could only have it prepared for a lot of money on top (small seafood plate without lobster $ 30 to plates for $ 100) - Daily arrival and departure of large Japanese tour groups - All inclusive does not mean all inclusive (services at extra costs: food in the a la carte restaurant, cocktails except for 5 (very boring) selected ones with hardly any alcohol, romm service, minibar, snacks between meals, pool bar food).
The hotel is an attractive location and has a friendly hotel staff. The rooms are also very clean and Looking at the beach from the room is mind soothing.
One of the worst hotels I've ever visited for a day trip. The lunch buffet was over booked and it was a mess at the area.. no place to sit and food wasn't satisfying at all. Would never visit this place ever again. Really poor service and management
Very friendly staff, Their service also very good. Stayed in a Delux room It was large enough and fully equipped with essentials but the food selection is not that much good.
Place is nice and specious. Went there for lunch. Sad to say the food variation is poor. Refilling of food was very slow or never happens. If you are going there go early so that you will be able to get the monies worth.
Visited the hotel for the corporate annual day out and here is my verdict.
Pros: Spacious - Nice photo location with chill ambience. Vast space for extra activities. (Cricket, volleyball, etc.) Pool area - Enjoyed a good swim. Prompt attention of the staff even at the busy times.
Cons: Average menu when it comes to the food and beverages. Nothing extraordinary. Guess they were playing it safe.
Overall, would have been good for an overnight stay.
Citrus Waskaduwa located Beach side. It's very beautiful, comfortable hotel. Friendly staff here. Everything arrange quickly. Rooms are comfortable. Various delicious Food. Pool also good. Cultural photo location here. Color theme is super. Have a beautiful garden. I have to say, I will be back again.
Beautiful place to enjoy your weekend with your family and friends.Located infront sea area. There is a large Swimming pool and there is a lot of different type food. Taste of the food is the only matter of fact sometimes. Rooms are comfortable. They have good house keeping service. If you are select to sped ground floor rooms you can access both side entrance. There is a pool bar and also normal bar facility.
One of the best of its kind in Sri Lanka to enjoy the sunny beautiful beaches. Clean tasty food served by polite friendly staff. Welcoming calm and free environment. Excellent facilities in rooms. All in all marvellous. Love to go their again. Stayed as a couple July 2016
Here i visited to an event of Gypsis koththu night. Very good and luxury hotel. There view is best. restaurant, bar outdoor decoration are well maintain. Price range also expensive .. There have lot of parking. Swimming pool is very large and there have better deep to swim well. For reach this hotel you have to use private transport because this hotel have some far from town. Good place Hope to visit again.
I was having high hopes for this place based on the reviews and so on and after all it is said to be a five star hotel.
We went on a day out with 10 of my friends today and it was not a 5 star experience at all and I am quite sure of it.
Reasons are as follows. But let's look at the bright side first. The hotel itself is a really nicely constructed place in a quite accessible location. Facilities are good and has a good potential. Ample parking space. Many nice rooms and a nice backyard with green buffalo grass.
The bad side is the staff seemed a bit grumpy and not welcoming at all. From the welcoming reception lady to the room service boy they seemed very tired and preoccupied with some other agenda.
They seemed to treat the day outing people in a don't care mode as if they are hosting us for free. In a time like this they should be grateful to the local community coming to enjoy and spend time in their hotel as the number of tourists were a bare minimal.
They provided us with a room with with some hesitation ( that may be due to the number of people was not adequately accepted by the hotel policy to provide a room). At least they could have pleasantly explained it and given us the available options.
Rooms were very hastily cleaned and do not care attitude was depicted from everyone and everything we encountered.
The buffet was overcrowded and they didn't have enough chairs and tables to occupy our team and asked us to come there some time later.
The pool was also teaming with a lots of people. The pool is good for kids because it is not a pool with a deep end and it is small comparing with the hotel. There are abrupt steps inside he pool and you can suddenly slip while you are walking inside the pool.
The three stars I gave is just for the building and it's potential and not at all for the staff and the service.
I may have received a bad service on a bad day perhaps. Anyway just be aware of these facts before you go there and have the chance of getting disappointed.
I hope things turn out to be good in the future...
Had great time during my stay and the view from the rooms are to die for. Loved the hospitality and the selection of food at the buffet was great. Worth every penny and minute spent at the hotel
We travelled with a large number of people on a corporate trip. What I like the most is this hotel.is very large and connected to each other, the garden , the dining area and pools. So parents can eatch their kids play while they dine or sip a coffee . Area for large crowds to gather.
The food was good. Was not exceptional but nothing to complaint about. They had a variety of dishes including action stations.
The rooms were great. Very comfortable spacious and has large windows with a great view of the sea. All amenties were available in the bathrooms .
Service was great very very helpfull. We hadto leave early morning and they gave us the.breakfast packs to take away .
The spa was great too. It was worth for the money spent had staff from Indonesia. Great ambience , clean and relaxing . Advice to take the buggy from the entrance to the spa because there.is a long way to walk.
Dinner Buffet was not good at all, no varities, We watched the India SL match in the room , tv signal was very poor & had to switch off the TV , We made the booking Fullboard & decided to leave after breakfast, made a request to reception to make our booking halfboard since we have to leave little early without lunch but reception never turned up & we paid full charge & left the hotel without lunch , We are not recommending Citrus hotels to any one , they simply want to earn money without quality service to guest.
The place was absolutely amazing, beautiful view and superb service. Restaurants, rooms and the pool is so nice. However the food was not upto the expectation as our visit was during the New Year holidays, we were told the best chefs have taken leave. Quite understandable. Staff is genuinely helpful, recommend the services of Ms Abirami, ablsolute delight!
Frankly, the hotel is beautiful .. great view of the Indian Ocean, swimming pool, good buffet restaurant, spacious rooms with a beautiful view of the Indian Ocean, gym, billiards, markets and much more ..
One of my favourite places.. their rates are good (check their offers on FB).. great staff and service.. good buffet spread.. the suite is amazing with jacuzzi and it's large.. car park is bit far, but they have valet parking.. pool, sea view, bar all are great.. spa is ok.. but bit expensive.. cheers!!
reception and reception service zero, extra imaginary, noise pollution, dangerous odor nuisance, (products dangerous to health scattered around the pool when the bathers are present without any warning), repetitive cooking, very limited cleanliness in the commons (use of disgusting mops without cleaning), we horrible with open to locals -50% and people not correct (jostling without excuses, waste, bathing dressed) everything is overpriced (bottle of water 50cl 1.20 extra) for massages same price as in France!), Very noisy air conditioning to sleep, you have to turn it off ... but very humid and very hot place ... so we don't sleep!) Ok the rooms are large but the bathroom is not soundproofed and due to a semi-glass which gives on a common patio with other rooms !! we hear all the noises (wc and company !!) ditto for the rooms with communicating door to the next room! not very nice especially when people knock on the door for fun and we are simply told "oh they're leaving tomorrow so be patient!" otherwise nothing to do around the establishment
Nice hotel and its design explained. The staff is lovely and helpful. Its price is acceptable. The beach is clean and quiet. The garden and pool are fantastic. The restaurant is lovely and the breakfasts are delicious. Its location between Bentota and Colombo is almost half an hour away from both. They provided a free room for our own driver. The rooms are spacious, their cleanliness is good and their view of the sea is beautiful.
Lovely hotel on a quiet beach with good swimming. Ended up staying an extra night we liked it so much. Buffet breakfast offered decent options with local and European food.
Very bad and disappointed, Visted on 21-Jul-2019, the room was under repair and technical team was replacing the glass while guest were in the room. Food had variety but in terms of flavour had nothing, observed its mass scale cooking rather serving a reasonable decent lunch to guest.
The beach was really good. The pool was good. The covered pool for kids was excellent..the staff were always with a smile. The buffet was adequate. The food in general was just adequate. Did I mention that the staff always had a smile. The room (R144) was nice...but dark.. the washroom was in black tile and really dark..could not tell if it was really clean or not.
Rated as excellent. Great place, with wonderful ambience and beautiful sea view from my room. Every staff in the hotel is very courteous, helping, smiling and ready to help and assist. Good food. Will definitely revisit.
Room was well spacious with private balcony and separate sofa inside the room. Wash room was really huge with modern touch. Hotel in overall is with modern look with remarkable interior designs. Food was tasty with vast variety to select from. Owns a long beach area and all rooms have a good sea view.
