Overall Pleasant experience.

Rooms were relatively small, however had balconies overlooking the beautiful ocean and a huge swimming pool.

The hotel had a good band and arranged lovely cultural programmes depicting varied cultural art forms of SriLanka.

Menu was repititive however quite pleasant.

The Xmas party was very well organized for such a huge crowd. Menu was amazing and had a variety of dishes for all.

DJ belted out some amazing music nos - keeping all of us on our toes. Santa Claus was a nice surprize for all the kids present including our child.

The tour guide arranged by the hotel was excellent and we saw wonderful parts of SriLanka that blew us away....

Would visit again provided the hotel arranges for a dedicated kids play area or activities...

Rested in November 2018, in principle, the hotel is not bad. The atmosphere is calm, the staff adequately relates to the requests. The territory is well-groomed, add to the beach, but take out the sun loungers. The food is normal. But it doesn't pull five stars. It is quite adequate for your money. There is a wonderful (Russian-speaking) guide Lashan nearby, if you are interested, write the coordinates. It will provide any excursion, very decent and tactful. There is also a good hotel near Tanjerin, you can also try, it has a test area. Actually, this year we are in Sri Lanka for the second time, if you have any questions, please answer with pleasure.

I lived once or twice. The first floor room was damp. The hair dryer was always in poor contact. The buffet was not very good. The individual restaurant staff were not very friendly. The only beautiful one was the car.

Problems : We stayed with two infants. The rooms we got are the farthest to the restaurant and the reception. It would be better if Citrus can allocate close by rooms when they see infants in booking request.

We arrived at Citrus late at night on 16/12/18 and checked in but no welcome drink was provided. At that time there was a girl at the counter and her name goes by Keshuka. She didn t smile neither did she welcome us whatsoever that night. That night they informed us about the dressing for breakfast and other meals however they hadn t informed the tour guide about the dress code which was - smart casual. It s a dense policy for a beach resort especially. It s a beach resort and most people come there to be able to relax and enjoy the beach as well as go for their meals which was exactly what we did but we weren t allowed to enter the breakfast hall as my uncle was wearing sleeveless tshirt. When we looked around there were other people wearing sleeveless shirts and shorts that were above their knees. If there s a policy it should be applied to all and not selected ones. Once we were banned from going into the area we insisted on sitting outside. The manager then told us that the tables were reserved for AI s and some of them were reserved the night before. When asked what AI s are, they don t give us a proper respond or ignore the question asked. Does AI stand for artificial intelligence? Or does it stand for AMERICANS AND INTERNATIONALS? If they can t give us a proper respond regarding our query, complex thoughts like this pops up. Just because we re somewhat the same colour doesn t mean we have to be classified from the country itself. This shows their ill-minded mentality. IM SORRY IF THIS OFFENDED ANYONE HOWEVER WE SPOKE WHAT OUR EYES TOLD US. If there s anyone to be blamed it has to be the hotel as they didn t give us a proper respond and caused our minds to wonder. It s unfair to the others when tables are booked the night before. People come down in the morning expecting a hassle free meal. If we weren t allowed to sit inside we had no other choice to sit outside but we weren t allowed to sit there either. So where do they expect us to sit? Can I bring my plate to the beach side or is that not allowed as well? In the room, the toilet was leaking and when we called to ask for maintenance it takes them forever to arrive by which time the bathroom would ve been flooded. When asked for face towels they tell us that they don t provide any. Whereas the other room was provided with face towel. This is not a 5 star standard for a hotel even a 3 star could provide more. We insisted on checking out immediately. We were treated with inequality and disrespect and had no more tolerance to stay there any longer. We had spoken to our tour agent and she had spoken to the sales manager of the hotel to allow us to checkout. We packed up as quickly as possible and ATTEMPTED to leave however we were stopped by the desk manager at the hotel lobby and he was being extremely rude to us, his customers. He HELD US HOSTAGE for 45 over minutes as they were not informed of us leaving by the sales manager, it isn t our fault that communication isn t efficient within the business as well top the cake with a cherry they have insisted on full payment but we ve already paid the tour agent the full amount and we weren t involved in this quarrel between the agent and them. If they want their full payment they should ask the tour agent about it. We have already paid the full amount for this so called 5 star hotel. We were held hostage for quite a bit of time, gates were forced to be closed and our travel van was forced to stop each time we wanted to leave and drive off. By doing so, it s against the laws of the country as well as showing the customer a so called 5 star mentality, attitude and personality. In a nutshell, our stay there lasted less than a day due to utter disrespect and we didn t enjoy our stay there at all. I don t understand how its called a 5 star resort when they have an attitude of a less than 3 star resort.

The hotel is just super! I liked everything, the staff is kind, smiling, always ready to help! The rooms are cleaned twice a day, they change the bed, towel, wet cleaning, bring some water ... every whim))) I liked the food, you can choose according to your taste and color !!! minus one, on weekends the local residents rest in the hotel, for them there are their own rules, they want, they are doing !!! there are a lot of them here)))))) in general, I liked everything!

Extremely friendly staff,very helpful.. and food is very tasty and authentic... lovely atmosphere... unusual appetizer selection and that's so tasty too.. rooms are good and comfortable..
