I go to Children's for both my spine and my hip. I have scoliosis and hip dysplasia, and would not go anywhere else. The physicians, physician assistants, nurses, assistants, volunteers and everyone else, in my experience, has been fantastic. I have had innumerable visits and tests done, as well as one major surgery, and I would never go anywhere else. This is a world class facility, and I feel very lucky to have access to it.

If you have to got to this hospital for an appointment you better get there 30 minutes early. They have incompetent admins that will delay you and you possibly will lose your appointment because they don't process you quick enough. We have to wait extra 40 minutes because this gal in admin couldn't scan an ID and insurance card.
Great place my nephew had to have surgery on his knee and every Dr and nurse that was helping him was so nice and so caring made sure he was comfortable at all times love this place
Edit I wrote an earlier review on how long we have been waiting it has now been 11 and a half hours waiting for my son to be taken to his facility we got here at 1030 am and it is now 945 pm! My son was brave enough to tell us he needed help so we brought him in the emergency department for mental health he was happy to be getting some treatment now that we are nearly 12 hours in to just sitting and sitting he is discouraged he said he thought it would be different he thought he would get help not just be left to sit in a room for 12 hours! I feel like going forward if my son ever feels like he needs help again he wont tell us because of the horrible experience he has had today! Something needs to be done about this process children who are feeling suicidal deserve more then being left to sit in a tiny room for 12 hours before they get help!!!
Ive been sitting in the psychiatry unit for 8 hours waiting for them to transfer my son to a in patient facility and they still cant tell me how much longer it will be! This is a horrible experience to be sitting in a small windowless room for hours and hours and my son is going crazy he would just like to get to were hes going to be so he can sleep!
Children's is great since all they do is working with kids, they really cater to any fears they may have vs. a traditional hospital. The complex is big so allow extra time if it's a scheduled visit for parking and finding your way. There is valet but in my experience, the wait was too long. I prefer to self park in general.
Terrible. Just terrible. I'm sure the main Children's Hospital is excellent, but let's hope it's NOTHING like the C.A.M.P Clinic located there. I've had nothing but bad experiences while being a patient of the Young Mother's Maternity Program. I've only been a patient there for the last four months of my pregnancy, and never ever would I EVER recommend it to someone looking for an OB. I am beyond frustrated. The disorganization and incompetency of your staff even made it impossible for me to transfer to another hospital, because no one could transfer my medical records. I kept getting transferred between two departments that clearly had NO communication with each other. Very unprofessional. I will never deal with this hospital ever again.
The first bad experience I had with several years ago when my son was transferred to the emergency room from Urology and completely forgotten about for over an hour. Has care after surgery is not improving my opinion of Children's Hospital at all
Had a major surgery here. They took very good care of me for over a month. Also if at UCH next door, it's worth walking over for the better food options.
The level of care, compassion, and professionalism we experienced here was above and beyond what we expected out of a hospital. They truly cared about us and our daughter as if we were family. I'm so glad we were able to experience such a trying time for our family at such a comforting place.
My baby had outpt surgery and for any parent going thru something with their child it can be stressful of the unknown. Working in the medical field I know what to look for and expect but it's still different being on the other end. Children's definitely exceeded my expectations. From start to finish everything was clock work and done accordingly to keep my mind at ease. My baby was loved on and cared for just like I would expect. I loved the atmosphere and all the staff we interacted with.
I'm not satisfied at all. They sent me a bill for $1950 for a simple visit that took just 40 minutes and the doctor just asked us a couple of questions about the problem of my son , that's it. 1950$ !!!!!!!!! It doesn't add up this amount for a simple visit. I just want to know isn't any supervising on the bills.?
If I could leave less than a star I would we waited for just about 45 mins in the ER while my daughter had a temp of 103 and then we get back to a room all the nurses tell us its strep they do a throat swab and and take a urine sample they didnt do anything with the urine sample it sat in the room the whole time they come back and say the UA and throat swab came back negative for strep really yall didnt even test the urine but ok if it's not strep what is it? Well its Viral and sent us home horrible awful experience we would have been better of at St Anthony's
This place was HORRIBLE, if you really want to help your child dont take them here, The staff were encredibly rude and if you made a friend they would put you on a five feet rule, I came out worse then i did going in there
My5 year old son got a rash on his backside in early October 2015. We initially thought it might be ring worm and we used tinactin. It didn't cure it. Then we had his Children's doctor look at and she prescribed an anti fungal. We used that for a couple of weeks - nothing. The rash remained and even got worse. Then they prescribed a stronger anti fungal. A couple of weeks later, the rash had even gotten worse. Then we went to the dermatology clinic at Childrens. They prescribed a fairly strong steroid. That made this child very moody and unhappy. When we told the Dr at the dermatology clinic that using that all over his backside had a very dramatic effect on his behavior, we were poo pooed and told that it would not be absorbed systemicly. Then when I looked it up on the web, there were specific notes in the literature about how using it over a large are on children could affect their behavior. Hmmmm. And, after a couple of weeks using this, it didn;t work. So then they prescribed two weeks of antibiotics. It just didn't go away. This is almost March 2016 and his backside is red, rashy, itchy and burns from all the scratching. Not real happy with their lack of knowledge, or lack of care about this. It hurts this kiddo every day.
they are good sometimes sometimes you have to wait hours to be seated and the doctors said i didn't need any blood draws cause i hate blood draws and i got my blood drawn so they lied .
This is not even worth 1 start but ok. We scheduled an appointment for a 2 year old to get his age required vaccines. The appointment was made two weeks ago but they still managed to mess up. We were informed that the appointment time was changed and we agreed to it. However when we called right before we went to the hospital they told us that it was canceled on Saturday. God knows how its possible because none of the parents attempted such a thing. It wont be this big of a deal if it was a regular check up, but its a known fact that vaccines are pretty important especially at a age like this.
I just had throat surgery and could barely talk when neighbor needed help with very fussy uncomfortable 3 day old baby boy. My neighbor couldn't speak English so I tried to help. The lady who answered phoneanswered phone said she couldn't hear me and I apologized explsinly just had
Been here since October 5th and my daughter has been moved three times. I ve been doing all the training I m supposed to and they still are making me continue training even after repeatedly telling all of them that I know what I m doin and I m ready. Everyone besides one nurse makes me feel like a child. Like I don t know how to take care of my own kid. If you want to feel like you re in a prison or in school than this isn t the place for you. To most of them it s only about a paycheck. They say they want to get you home but keep you here for stuff that you ve done for 4 months.
Stress inducing total lack of communication between staff. My nephew is currently there for his second stay and both times the communication skills between the nurses have been severely lacking to the point that it is ridiculous. My sister is beyond frustrated because one time they will be told that some specific thing is being or has been done yet when a different nurse comes in they tell something completely different. It s like a messed up game of telephone . Night nurses started treatments that have not been done in 2 days because the doctor never added it to the chart. When you ask for something you either don t get it when they say you will, or they take so long that you have to figure something else out and by the time they come back with it it s too late. They were told they would be given a cot since two of them are there, after waiting several hours and asking about it again, the nurses then changed their minds claiming it would be a fire hazard and instead my sister slept on the floor. These are some of the minor communication issues. The nurses just don t care about their patients or the family. When your child is sick or injured the last thing you want to be dealing with is more stress and nurses who have no clue what they are doing. So much for being the best children s care place in Colorado.
Please read: We literally walked out with my daughter . We seemed to be the only ones and they took still took so long. When we first walked in the officer was too busy chatting with the nurses to notice us and he needed to ask us a few questions and hand us a sticker before allowing us to enter . Once we entered the nurses were busy looking at apartments online in their computer. The creen right in front of our noses. The front desk girl that checks us in was polite and normal. They took my daughters weight and temperature and vitals .
It made me really sad and disappointed. We went to the children's hospital for their name . When we could've gone to a closer hospital, a closer urgent care, to our home. but no we came here because of their name . What better place to be attended at than a place exclusively for children. Surely they'd be more caring and attentive. Filled with people who put children first . But no. It's very sad to me . The only person to check up on us was the girl form front desk , asking us for our peperwork with insurance and social security numbers on it . Of course they're quick to take that ....... sad. Hopefully they don't charge us for that awful and disappointing experience , because literally all we did was walk in. I will be very angry if they do . Oh and I have to mention: our phone numbers were in that paperwork. We hoped they'd at least call us once they noticed we walked out without anyone caring for our daughter . Nope. Not one call . I'm angry at myself for even wasting my time thinking I could leave my child's health at their hands. Not going back there and certainly recommending no one else go .
Our daughter had to go in to Children's Hospital for ablation in her heart. It was an emergency scheduled surgery and this hospital was absolutely fabulous. Unfortunately our family has spent a lot of time in hospitals and I've never had an experience like this one. If I have a choice, I will not take my daughter anywhere else. It was a great hospital to be at and with an "at home" setting. The lengths the staff went to every moment during our stay was great. Thank you for giving me my daughter back!
Scheduling for the Children's hospital is horrible. Two separate appointments were all screwed up. The first one in Broomfield was scheduled and the Dr was never scheduled in, then in Aurora our appointment was canceled with out notice. We drive out of town to these facilities and get screwed. The day of the Aurora appointment was at 2pm and the director squeezed us in til a 345pm after I was making complaints and told them I wasn' leaving til we were seen for the test that was originally scheduled. This is the far worse scheduling issue this Children's Hospital has. If there was a different Children's Hospital I would switch in a heartbeat, but unfortunately we are stuck with Phucktards.
Where do I start.... If you have ample time on your hands, by all means, go to this ED. If it's a REAL emergency, like say, the middle of the night and your 3yo can't breath, go anywhere else! Never venturing thru the ED doors again unless we have no choice. This isn't even our first horrendously long experience there. Please, get your timing, priorities & staffing in order!
Incredible experience, I truly appreciate the care and effort the staff gives! My sons incredible nurse Mayra & Tre made our stay very comfortable! Thank you, for making us feel safe, secure & welcome. From the XRay room to the cool fish tanks & Lego Hospital Replica to the outside garden, it made our situation better.
I can't say enough good things about the team's knowledge, kindness and attentiveness. What they do is truly miracles, and they do it with such caring. After a harrowing stint in ICU, and then also on a regular floor, all things considering - they made it the best experience possible, and took care of my little girl as if she was their own. I am eternally grateful to everyone there.
The nurses and doctors and professional medical staff at Children s hospital were excellent, and sympathetic to our needs. They are very well trained, know what they are doing and made us feel confident about our child s care. The rest of the staff like the secretaries, receptionists, financial, billing, and insurance department staff are horrible and don t have a clue to what they are doing. I have been hung up on 4 times while trying to reach certain departments and they could not answer my simple questions. They also directed us to the wrong department while my child was there for brain surgery. We called and e-mailed them several times asking about our insurance and wanted to make sure it was in network. They said yes they are in network on 3 different occasions and they also had blue cross blue shield on their website. The surgeon was also on our blue cross blue shield website as being "in network". After my Child's major brain surgery I get a letter stating that they are not in our network of providers. The staff needs a lot more training! This is very upsetting and not something we want to deal with at this time, or ever.
Single biggest Rip-off in healthcare. While the service is adequate, their billing is a rip-off scam. 2 x-rays of a leg cost $555 just for the facility fee. Then you get to add doctors charges etc. To see a doctor and have a cast put on a kid's leg for a simple fracture = $2,841!!!! Insane!!
Do not go here unless you absolutely cannot find the service somewhere else.
They have higher billings rates to see doctors than going to an Emergency Room. It is insane and is the prime example of what is wrong with healthcare in America
Do not use Children's Hospital Colorado, they are destroying Healthcare in America.
Doctors who work hard to correctly diagnose and explain everything thoroughly to the parents, nurses who are kind and helpful, and plenty of toys for the sick little ones. I also felt heard as a parent. I highly recommend this hospital.
I would make black out curtains and sound machines standard issue for the rooms. These kids need their sleep and a bright, noisy room is not conducive. Until then, bring your own (In our room there were hooks for a curtain but they are up on the very high ceiling).
Went to give a urine sample at the host get called 1 week later saying that "they lost it" . I end up going to lab core in Parker and they were supposed to fax my lab order over. They never did, they can't get anything right. Horrible hospital would never recommend.
One of the best hospital experience I have had. My 6-yr old son with a ruptured appendix came in from a 5-hr ambulance ride in blizzard conditions at 5 in the morning on Feb 22, 2017 and we were made welcome by our nurse Amy of 6W. She had the bed ready for my son, even had the guest bed in the room set up. Made my son comfortable, very attentive and efficient. Dr. Bealer, our Pediatric Surgeon was very informative and explained everything to us. Very important to parents of a tiny 6-yr old and who hadn't have any history of hospitalization nor surgery. The quality of care of the nurses that we came in contact with from my son's room to recovery was the best. The staff nurses namely - Amy, Jessica, Heather, Liz and Lindsey and para-nursing in 6W were courteous, efficient, very helpful and mindful of my son and our feelings. We had been so lucky that we encountered such wonderful and caring individuals during our stay. With regards to the facility, they have almost everything imaginable to help make your stay a little easier. There were a lot of gracious volunteers to help you from babysitting your other kids, providing cheer and encouragement to your hospitalized child. Their cafeteria isn't bad either.
We were feeling beyond stressed that we need to take our child to Children's for surgery. From the moment we walked in the staff was amazing. My favorite part is when the nurse came in with a book and explained to our daughter what would take place and how the process was going to be. For our daughter, who is very logical, it meant the world to her and us. We couldn't be happier with the attention and services she received.
We had to have my daughter brought in by an ambulance, the two paramedics GREAT personality, uplifting and communicative. The responding fireman were top notch explained in detail and asked detailed questions and joked around with us and kept the situation calm and uplifting. Children s Hospital staff from security to nurses, doctors and techs JOVIAL, they explained in such detail we really didn t have questions- LOVED them all . I had plans on going to food truck festival and I ended up never getting my tacos! . They just made the time pass quickly and we in a discomfort time had fun! Thank you all so so much
Medical care might be adequate but customer service is terrible! I have been dealing with financial services since March. Never get answers and how they are threatening collections. On the phone with someone who sends me to someone else who sends me to someone else...never even get called back when they say they will look into the situation.
We had to take our daughter here for several surgeries after she was born. We loved our surgeon and all the staff but our medical bills were crazy! The billing department will not work with you. They wanted us to pay a very high monthly payment that we just couldn't do. We offered to pay about half of that amount a month but they wouldn't work with us. So now the account sits in collections. Makes no sense, it might have taken a while to get their money but at least they would have been paid instead of selling it to a collection agency for pennies on the dollar.
I went there when I was 18 months for a respiratory disease and I've been in remission for 16 years. Now I go to the neurologists for epilepsy and they take amazing care of you!
Considering the circumstances our daughters stay at this hospital was wonderful. She received excellent care and the staff was very kind and attentive. You would have thought she was the only patient on the floor. By far the best hospital experience I have ever had.
Worst first experience to the emergency with my 1 year old son! Waited 3 hours to keep getting pushed back because the staff thought every other kid with a cough was more important than my son covered in hives and very uncomfortable. Left without ever being seen! Unacceptable!
Had to wait over two hours to be seen by a Dr. Incredible dirty in waiting area. Don't think anyone picks up at all this was between 830pm-12 am and it was dirty when we arrived. Yes we didn't leave till after midnight. Don't go here unless you want to wait and possible get sick from God knows what else because they can't pick up. No one came to inform us how long it would be. Worst experience ever.
I brought my boys for a endocrinologist doctors visit. The doctor did not listen to our concerns or take into consideration that we have already been through this with our older boy and knew what worked for him. Instead she insisted my youngest see a nutritionist (of which I let them know he had seen one on several occassions in the past), they both had a simple hand xray that was read by the doctor not a radiologist and seen the doctor. No further treatment was offered other than to come back in 6 months. After I had paid the co-pay insurance was billed and our bill was still almost $800 and the billing for the doctor will come separately. No my deductible was not met BUT this was a regular doctor visit that typically would have cost us ONLY our $40 co-pay even without the deductible being met. Hell, we have had urgent care visits with xrays and casts and only had a $120 bill. The nutritionist alone was $265 for not even 30 minutes AND I had told them we didn't think it was necessary but it was insisted upon. I contacted the billing office and was given a 15% discount. Also spoke with patient relations rep. She "researched" the visit and we were pretty much told the 15% off was good enough to take care of our concerns. I further voiced concerns that were answered with "uh huh" and "I understand" again did not feel as if I was being listened to. We won't be back! The outpatient billing procedures that are taking place for a Dr. Appointment is asinine! Especially when the office is part of a hospital that is NON-PROFIT! Someone is getting a huge bonus at the end of the year!!
Horrible service now!! They only care about money and not the well being of the kids. They used to be amazing. Sad to see where they have gone !! Not helpful at all!!
Son broke his arm - 3:30pm Sunday 7/2. We rush him to the Castle Rock Adventist Hospital ER - arrive 3:45pm Sunday. Because the break was unusual it was determined to transfer to Children's Hospital Anshutz - 7:05pm Sunday. We speak with Dr. Ellis and he says no ambulance needed for transfer and to arrive promptly at 6am 7/3 - no food or drink for my son. We arrive at 6am 7/3. We're told, "There is no record of a transfer and we've never heard of Dr. Ellis." Then, we hear that a surgery was scheduled for 11:30am, then 2pm or even later. Radiology reception was asked to "squeeze Maverick in." Raquita refuses. 10:40am CT scan after shift change that took less than 10 minutes. Bottom line...both the transfer process and interdepartmental teamwork requires attention and improvement.
Horrible experience here! They will not allow more than one child to go back but I have 4 kids and two need care. I don t have anyone else to watch my kids but I need these two to go in for bloodwork and I can t take their siblings in!! I was offered to put them in their daycare there, because Covid is only an issue in a private room I guess but once my children enter a daycare area they can t get or spread Covid?! They assured me that they would make sure my kids social distance in the daycare but you can t really do social distancing with toddlers someone would have to get near them! It s impossible to get care for kids with these ridiculous rules!!
My child sees about every specialist In this hospital. I'm not impressed with many. I think I like two of them. One specialist from cardiology didn't even tell us about the enlarged aortic root. Didn't find out until I went for a second opinion on something else and the doc said they saw it at CHC, but I wasn't informed then. Anyways. I'm here to post because my child was inpatient and overdosed by them. It landed us in PICU with critical issues. Thank god PICU fixed things. They came to us and told us of the error and now that's it been brought further, they're now denying even with me having written proof and names etc! Cannot understand how that's even possible. But I guess it is. Just shows how shady they are unfortunately. Very unprofessional. All I want is honesty at the very least. I don't want any response to this or scripted apology. Just the word out there. That way people can be aware of the issues.
I've been to children's hospital a lot, I am a scoliosis patient. I have been there for more things other than scoliosis, but all of my good experiences have been with Dr. Miller and the whole orthopedics area. I had a spinal fusion in October 2014 and there have been no complications, Dr. Miller is great. Nurses are great and caring, everyone was really friendly to me. Now, my less positive experiences have all been in the ER. I have been to the children's hospital ER twice in the past year or so; once in June and once last night, actually. Each time I've been there it has been rushed and unorganized. It seems like the doctors don't care how long you're there, I was there from 8:30 pm to 6 am just for an EKG and blood labs. My mom and I spent 3 hours in the waiting room, 2 hours for the doctor once we got into the room, and 4 more hours for the things I needed done. I don't believe an EKG and blood labs take 4 hours. I understand the doctors are busy, but it almost seemed like they forgot about us or like we didn't matter and a lot of the nurses I met coped an attitude and made it seem like it wasn't important that I was there. Children's hospital has always been great to me and my family, but the ER is a different story.
3rd time at this ER....this time we waited 8 hours so far and my child has neither been neither admitted nor discharged. Too may people use the ER like a primary care physician's office. The surrounding community is in dire need of education, this facility is being used incorrectly which seems to result in longer wait times. Psychiatric Emergency services are abhorrent, after 8 hours we still haven't seen a physician, and there is no update to my child's treatment plan. So far we've experienced sub-par treatment, this is unacceptable. If this situation wasn't truly an emergency, I would have waited through traffic to be seen at a different branch of the children's hospital. Words cannot capture my feelings of desperation as I await adequate medical and psychiatric care for my child. I implore all potential patients to objectively evaluate your needs and make a different choice in hospitals if at all possible.
Amazing hospital and people. We just went for a routine exam for my son and every single person we had interaction with had the best actitud and biggest smile. It was our first time at Children's and now we know where to go.
My daughter has mild scoliosis and the Orthopedics department at Children's Hospital have all been excellent to work with. From the receptionists to the doctors we have had nothing but the best care possible. Thank you for taking such good care of our children!
I have loved Children's Hospital for many years. They have always been wonderful to my children. They have had 2 emergency surgeries there and one scheduled surgery among many other things. I have paid them thousands of dollars over the past 10 years and have never had trouble of any kind, until now. My daughter broke her wrist skiing last December and we went to Children's Ortho for her follow up. The PA determined she didn't need a cast, removed her cast and gave us the option to choose one of two splints. I asked about the cost and pros and cons of each. I was told one (the one they sell at Walgreen's for $16) would cost about $50 and the other which she could use and play sports with would cost about $100 so we chose the one that she could play volleyball with. When I received the bill it was much higher than I anticipated. It also was not itemized. When I called they told me her splint cost over $400! Obviously, if I would have been told the correct price I would not have bought that for her to where for just three weeks. I have been trying to reconcile this for over 6 months with Children's and NO ONE will work with me. I have offered to return the splint and offered to pay the $100 I was quoted. I get the constant run-around and have been told that the doctors don't know the prices or that it has already been processed through insurance. It is unacceptable to quote one price to a customer and then charge them 4x that amount. This is what the politicians are talking about when they are asking for "transparency." Today - I give up...I paid the bill in full (before it goes to collections which is the last notification I received) and am going to try to put this behind me. But, I wanted to let others know.
I have heard of nothing other than great service here by the Dr.s and Nurses, however trying to check in is chaotic and some of the desk ladies are rude ( the woman named Barbara on the 2nd floor is a sweetheart). I spent 30 minutes bouncing between the floors because we were being directed by the desk ladies who clearly did not know where to send us. First the main check in who told us to go to the 2nd floor, checked in at 2nd floor which told us to go to the 4th floor. That lady told us that was incorrect and to go back to the 2nd floor. That's when Barbara helped us out and told us we needed to go back to the main check in and ask for radiology. Went back to the 1st floor lady who was very rude and unclear as to where we should wait.(I couldn't get her name, I tried.) Loved the actual medical staff and Barbara but it was a frustrating and stressful process to check in. Especially when you are told your appointment will be cancelled if you're 15 minutes late.
Disgusting and deceptive billing practices. Took my daughter to an orthopedist for her knee. As a part of the appt the doctor took an x-ray. If the x ray was billed as a part of the doc appt I would have owed $40. And since the x ray room was right next to the doctor exam room of course I assumed it would be part of the visit. Imagine my surprise to learn that Children's billed the x ray as an outpatient service and therefore I owed $320! Children's bills all of it's diagnostic testing as outpatient in order to bill patients as much as possible and therefore pad it's bottom line. If I can avoid it, I will never use this hospital again and would advise others to avoid it as well. Any institution that bases it's business model on deceiving customers is one I want nothing to do with.
Dr. Taylor Triolo is the best! My daughter and I enjoy seeing her! Best personality and professional I have ever meet in a doctor!!!!
Now for update, some how getting charged from 3 different people for 1 visit. Over $300 after insurance to use a room for less than an hour? This is scandalous to the parents of middle class. Now I cannot afford to take her here!
Thanks for putting me in debt with a child that has brain tumors! But as long as everyone is making tons of money
This is just a visit too! Not even ER!!! No medicine administration, iv literally a chat !
As a parent who has had a child in hospitals all over the country (due to military moves), I have to say that this is one of the best hospitals in the country. Yes, hospitals are expensive, but that's the same anywhere you go. Yes, hospitals, doctors, and nurses make mistakes, but they do so everywhere.
From surgeries, to inpatient stays, to specialist clinics, all but one time (we talked to patient advocate) have we been treated with the utmost respect and fantastic care. The Special Care clinic is incredible, so is the Aerodigestive team and the Colorectal clinic, as well as the many other specialists we have seen, including Dr. Soden, Dr. Collins, Dr. Santucci, Dr. Pena, and more!
The child life specialists have been more than a blessing to us with their patience and kindness, and the many events the hospital has going on to keep kids busy and to give them great experiences have more than made up for the many times my daughter has had to visit. No hospital is perfect, but Children's Colorado comes pretty close.
I remember was made surgery and come back 2 days after feel a very painful at the emergency door, they treated me unfairly and got back without nothing
We Love the Childrens Hospital. We haven taking our daughter for the last 20 years to the special care clinic. Our current doctor Courtni Santucci is amazing. She is the real deal doctor. She cares about her patients and it shows every visit. We may not always agree but we listen to one another to come to an agreement that is in the estate interest of our Child. She has helped us come a long way. We couldn't be more pleased and blessed with her as our doctor. Many thanks to all the wonderful nurses and assistants at the special care office. We are truly grateful!
If you end up having to stay in-patient it is very family friendly. 24/7 cafeteria and snack kiosk with lots of food and drink options though if you want soda that is not diet or sugar free prepare to bring that with you. There is a well stocked gift shop that also has toiletries should you need them. The playrooms on each floor are fantastic and open 3 times a day during the week. They are open on Saturday and Sunday when there is a volunteer that comes in. You just have to check with the volunteer department to see when its open. A family library where you can search the internet, use a printer and check out a variety of health books and chapter books as well as childrens books. If you are just visiting for imagining or a specialist appointment check in is easy and clinics are pretty good at keeping as on time as possible. The grounds are well maintained and a joy to walk around.
Lack of communication, no concern for my child, and the food is overpriced and pretty awful. Would give negative stars if possible! They state that they are top 10 in the nation but this has now been the second time I have brought my children here with a bad experience. The first time my son had nursemaid elbow and it was very obvious his arm was in pain. We were almost sent home by the nurse saying he was just throwing a tantrum before insisting we get the doctor to look. When the doctor came in she was pretty nice and fixed it in a matter of minutes making her assistant/nurse looking very rude and unprofessional. Now my new born daughter is in the NICU and there has been lack of communication on all spectrums. First we got here the nurse got her hooked up to everything. 20 minutes later the alarm on the monitor that reads the pulse and heart beat was going off and continued going off for a good 10 minutes witch to me is disrespectful especialy since she told us she was watching the monitor. I could definintly name off about 5 more things from start to finish that have been unacceptable. On other notes the parker adventist hospital has made our standards high and have treated us extremely well i will definintly not be returning to this hosptial i dont understand how they claim to be top 10 in the nation when i can even get an explanation on whats wrong with my 9 day old baby!!!
This is the nicest hospital I have ever been in. From the information desk to the specialist to the nurses to the people who just guide you around, everyone was helpful and nice. They completely explained everything, confirmed that we understood it, checked in with us frequently to make sure we were still okay. I am so completely happy that we chose this hospital to take our kids to for a medical procedure.
I expected too much from this hospital I guess bc they were a huge disappointment, my son had appendicitis and covid the pain was unbearable to say the least, but even though that was the case none of the nurses were able to keep on schedule to stay on top of the pain I had to call multiple times especially with one nurse that would take 30 min to an hour to answer calls when she would answer it's as if we were bothering her! She would say things like "I only have two hands" "im only one person" eventhough I would never call her out on her tardiness or lack of compassion. Anything I asked for went unnoticed until I called a couple times, after every diarrhea episode it was waiting for 30 plus minutes for a change of sheets or a clean chuck all the while my son in complete pain from holding him in my arms or having to place him on the couch so I could change the sheets myself. For the first 2 days I was there I had a larger room after surgery we were moved, without notice so we were walking all over the hospital bc no one was doing their job until they finally figured out where we needed to be for the remaining of our visit ( a week) we were crammed in the smallest room, normally this wouldn't bother me for a short stay, but considering we cannot leave the room we were in isolation due to covid this was frustrating and feels like a prison adding more stress to an already very stressful situation over all I would not recommend this hospital to anyone they lack compassion and attention to detail, they charge the guardian $8.50 per meal that's $127.50 for three meals a day for 5 days, the list goes on and on they just plain out don't care about people they do the bare minimum job and even that is too much of a bother for them. Of the 5 nurses we had two were nice and tried to help the rest treated us like a nuisance.
Each encounter I have had with my 4 year old daughter at Children's Hospital- Main campus and North campus have been excellent. We drive down from Wyoming to make sure she gets the best care possible. I can't tell you how amazing everyone is!
Went to the Outpatient ENT, and the place is gross! Found what appeared to be poop by the examination chair, then when I asked for a new room, they took me to a room with dried blood over the chair. My child might have a operation here, and they can't keep a exam room clean, what do the operating rooms look like?!?! I'm going to take my child to PSL after seeing that, what a mess. Clean this hospital right!
Perfect place to go if you want to be treated like a child abuser daily, and threatened to have CPS called on you because your child is sick.... will NEVER EVER return.
