I've been to children's hospital a lot, I am a scoliosis patient. I have been there for more things other than scoliosis, but all of my good experiences have been with Dr. Miller and the whole orthopedics area. I had a spinal fusion in October 2014 and there have been no complications, Dr. Miller is great. Nurses are great and caring, everyone was really friendly to me.
Now, my less positive experiences have all been in the ER. I have been to the children's hospital ER twice in the past year or so; once in June and once last night, actually. Each time I've been there it has been rushed and unorganized. It seems like the doctors don't care how long you're there, I was there from 8:30 pm to 6 am just for an EKG and blood labs. My mom and I spent 3 hours in the waiting room, 2 hours for the doctor once we got into the room, and 4 more hours for the things I needed done. I don't believe an EKG and blood labs take 4 hours. I understand the doctors are busy, but it almost seemed like they forgot about us or like we didn't matter and a lot of the nurses I met coped an attitude and made it seem like it wasn't important that I was there. Children's hospital has always been great to me and my family, but the ER is a different story.
