My teenage son went to Children s Hospital Colorado for an inpatient surgery that turned out to be an outpatient surgery. We had an excellent experience. Everyone was extremely nice and perfectly suited to work with children. Everyone from nurses to doctors to the anesthesiologist communicated with both my child and us as parents in a way we could both understand. The food we purchased in the cafeteria was really good and the entire facility was clean and beautiful. They had many activities for children going on like crafts and a recording studio. I couldn t be happier with our experience.
My son was flown to childrens CICU by himself he was 1week old and a week later he has open heart surgery. He has done amazing the staff was wonderful. They all tried so hard to make th best of why we were there.
Drove 4 hours for the skeletal dysplasia clinic and only 2/5 providers showed up. Huge inconvenience, disrespectful and unprofessional.
Parents, DO NOT give birth at this hospital..... They want your child to be "Gender Neutral"
Dedicated, experienced staff that works tirelessly to help sick and injured kids!
A big thanks to the gastroenterology team for all they have done for my 7 year old son who has biliary atresia and a HUGE shout out to doctor Cara Mack & her nurse Annette Mccoy you are both very amazing! Love the hospital & will forever be thankful for all the medical help you provide & for saving my son's life more than once. I thank God for this Hospital & the amazing doctors & nurses they have .
Used this place for my kid a long time ago, worst experience of my life. Avoided returning but highlands ranch is way too far. The doctors keep leaving so we have to start over explaining his issues. Came in on monday to visit family who's baby is admitted there. The thing by the atrium elevators is disgustingly filthy. The tables in the cafeteria are sticky. My 8 month old and 2 year old are sick, it started Tuesday. AND the restrooms I used did not have a changing table....a CHILDREN'S hospital...with no changing table?
The emergency department and ICU staff have been awesome .
I'm a concerned parent. My child was brought in for a mental health evaluation cause she cuts herself and threatens to kill herself at least every week if not more and. We brought her in and was blown off by your psychiatric department about it and was told she isn't a threat to herself or other at this time. Well when do we get help from children's hospital when she's laying on the floor bleeding out cause she cut just a lil to deep that time or what.
I feel as a parent your psychiatric department is a joke and needs to be looked at and changed considering I asked questions about a hold to hopefully help her in some way and was told they can't do that and she isn't a treat to herself or others at this time.
I asked questions on matters of importance to myself and my child and was not given any answers at all just told she isn't a danger to herself or others at this time. This is all I was given for answers.
Please tell me why and when was it ok for people to cut themselves and not be able to receive some kind of help
Jeremy Fletcher
P.S. please don't give me that b.s. automated response about this
Children s hospital is the greatest, my son was treated there at 6 months. He was there for 20 days. He was diagnosed with Spinal Meningitis. They saved his life. Thank you so much!!!
Both of my kiddos just finished having surgery (5 night stay). The doctors and staff were amazing - shoutout to Dr. Partrick and his team as well as the south wing 6th floor!!! Everyone treated our kids and us very well. The facilities are clean and comfortable. My only complaint is the people working in the cafeteria - they were not friendly; parents going through a stressful time could use a nice welcoming smile :)
Every staff member was so kind, helpful and patient with our grandson!!
It was an enjoyable visit- insofar as Doctor visits can be enjoyed !
Recently my 7 year old daughter had to see Dr. Moulton with pediatric surgery. He and his staff were very kind and helpful. He ordered an MRI to confirm diagnosis. The MRI staff were very nice and helpful. Dr. Moulton explained his plan in detail and even explained what he would do in different scenarios, which was comforting. On the day of surgery we met tons of people, all of which were very kind and thorough in explaining what was happening. Between the nurses, the anesthesia team, and the surgical team we had the best service that could have been offered. The nurses on the 9th floor in recovery were so sweet and helpful. My daughter especially loved the play rooms. Every single person we came in contact with went above and beyond to help my daughter feel more comfortable and to explain things to me. All of the areas we visited were clean too ;)
My daughter was taken care of very well and so was i
I dont think I could use words to describe this hospital. If it wasnt for the doctors and nursing staff at this hospital I wouldn't be able to call myself a father today. I will be forever grateful to this establishment and hope that one day I can contribute to its greatness. Thank you.
We are here every 3 months due to the fact my son has cystic fibrosis. If it wasn't for the excellent staff and great medical team, our son would not be living today. Plus the food is actual human food and they don't charge an arm and a leg. If I lived closer I would stop in every day just for lunch LOL
I went to this clinic with a neurologist a psychologist to check my nine-year-old girl, because my experience was strange, all the staff very friendly but not satisfied with the diagnosis they gave my girl, at the end of a lot of questions that my daughter and I did not understand if their headaches are because of their anxiety or something physical caused by something in their head or body ... they did not do any kind of study or blood test or something that will help diagnose your disease ... I'm confused
I'm so grateful cause with out them I wouldn't have my baby girl today! !!!!!!
This hospital's staff are truly knowledgeable and are excellent at diagnosing and treating children. While this is the best place for your child to be to receive treatment, their bed side manor is lacking. They spent more time marching students in and out of your child's room, with no regard to his level of anxiety, than they did treating him. I found a lot of the staff to be rude and not very good at dealing with children.
Horrible place!! If they are busy they try to rush you out the emergency and don't do anything to help they absolutely don't care at all they asked me decisions doctors should make not me I left still in pain with just some pills they prescribed. They don't care if you say it hurts they keep touching it how they want anyway ... stay away from here ! The nurses are very ignorant.
Only giving a three for how nice everyone was to my daughter.
She broke her leg we were transferred to children's, we got there and they set it cast it no problem. Took or insurance card got our names all our info seemed fine no-one said the different.
Went in for the next visit they rewrapped it again no problem no mention of anything.
When I went to schedule her follow up appointment thats when all of a sudden they don't take our insurance. Now. 2 visits later. We are informed we will be responsible for the charges. And any other visits need prior authorization. Also they have magically LOST my child's CD of her break. From the emergency room.
So I call her main doctor get the authorization.
They scheduled her 3rd appointment before they got this authorization. Not quite sure why.
Call to make appointment 4 they refuse to schedule until they get authorization in hand.
So I fax and because her doctor only put 2 visits on there they won't schedule anything else until I fix it.
This all could habe simply been avoided if in the emergency room AT children's someone was smarty enough to say we don't take this insurance fyi you might need to get authorization.
Now to even switch back to my insurance to avoid any more hassle I have to get children's to ok it and have another visit with my doctor and more x rays taken, since they lost the CD. So unimpressed with this place and healthcare in general.
Brought in my son to er and I came in at 10pm it s 1:18am and still in the waiting room they should of warned me ahead of time I was gonna wait this much I would of left to another hospital.
I have seen a lot of Doctors at Children's for Various Medical Issues. My biggest one started when I was in Third Grade and just ended in 2017. Without getting too detailed, I had a Disease Related Injury to my Hip Bone and the Damage was extensive. They did 4 Initial Surgical Repairs (Two at the Franklin Street Downtown Denver Campus). Then last year after my 20th Birthday I started having pain in my hip. Dr. Nathan Donaldson in the Pediatric Orthopedic Cancer Center took my case. On June, 14th, 2017 I had a Total Hip Replacement. The staff was very Considerate and willing to listen to my Concerns. The Slogan, "Here It's Different" really is true in my case. Love Love Love Children's Hospital.
Their website is spreading dangerous infant sleep training information which can cause failure to thrive and emotional disorders. Pull the article. This is not health it is child abuse.
Not allowing siblings to come to doctors appointments because of Covid!! What are single parents with multiple children supposed to do. Is my child just not supposed to receive any care for a pre existing condition. 2 parents can come to the appointment but not 2 children??? What kind of policy change is this?? So my child has to suffer because I don't have anyone to watch my other child??? If I didn't love our doctor I would never come back. How can you legally deny my child care because he has a sister?!?!?!?!?
