Dead the giraffe, ride a skyline and mingle with gorillas. The zoo is well cared for, has good selection and easy to get to. My favorite zoo, better than one in San Diego I think

This is a fabulous zoo. The giraffe exhibit is amazing, and I don't understand why more zoos don't create exhibits like this. It's a smaller zoo, but what exhibits they do have, are executed excellently.
Absolutely amazing. We were blown away by our experience. The animal interactions were once in a lifetime experiences.
Almost everything is interactive. The staff around the enclosures were very informative and friendly. The giraffes were awesome, being able to feed and pet them was an awesome experience! The indoor enclosures were clean and well ventilated. Being safely within just a few feet of Super Dangerous snakes was thrilling. We would love to return.
We purchased the shuttle pass because several people in our party needed help getting around. Even with the reduced number of people in the park, waiting for shuttles to come was extremely lengthy. Sadly when it started to rain, and shuttles were needed the most, the shuttles Disappeared!
Always enjoy going to the zoo, they have great events for the family like boo at the zoo and the electric safari
We got there right around 8:20 am. We had to walk a while before we could see animals and when we did they were closed due to cleaning. Some rude zoo keepers and workers. Most if not all animals looked really depressed, even without small enclosures. The only thing that i liked was the part were you feed the birds which was also a dollar(well worth it) on top of a 24$ admission fee. To me the zoo is not worth the price.
So much fun with friends, kids will love it, not too pricey. Do it before the sun is on the other side of the mountain.
Wonderful place to visit over and over. Get up close to a lot of animals - a sloth hangs out oabove you in the monkey exhibit, wild birds roam the sidewalks of the Australian exhibit and giraffes eat out of your hand - beware of those tongues!. Beautiful location and good exercise! There are cooling mist fans in the summer, and warming fires in the winter. If you have some trouble navigating the steep terrain you can ride the golf carts.
Very fun zoo with a huge variety of animals. Many animals were able to be seen and not just lounging in their behind the scenes homes. Lots of chances to interact with the animals. Made it even cooler it was on the side of a mountain!
A great place to visit with friends and family for a magical tour in a beautiful and well maintain Zoo.
Best zoo ever.animals were so interactive, a testiment to amazing habitats and people who care about the animals.
What a great zoo! There are tons of animals here and the zoo is laid out nicely. The best part of the zoo, in my opinion, is that you can feed giraffes! They sell bundles of lettuce for a nominal fee (I think it's $2 a bundle) and then you can walk around a raised, fenced platform and feed whichever giraffe you'd like! It was definitely one of the coolest animal encounters I have and will draw me back to the zoo again and again. They also have a neat wallaby encounter experience where you can walk through (not: not touching the animals!) their enclosure as they're hopping around. There's also an area with birds that you can feed for another nominal fee. Free parking, cute gift shop at the entrance/exit, and a nice cafe in the middle of the zoo as well. (They're renovating the ape facilities and building an entirely new facility for penguins and hippos - can't wait to return when they're complete!)
Beautiful animals they were well taken care of. Drove from Oklahoma City ok for vacation. Highly recommend
Great place to visit and unique zoo experience, very cool to walk up the mountain to enjoy animals very up close. Also worth the drive up to the shrine to see the views of Pikes Peak Valley.
Expect a lot of steep walks and a wonderful experience with beautiful views.
Great compact zoo with lots of interactive opportunities!
Such a nice place. And the animals were all out where you could see them. A variety of snack shops and eating places.
I really liked it a bunch of space and you can feed the giraffes!!
Awsm habitats for all the animals and critters! Loved the giraffe feedings! Let's do it again!
Awesome zoo. All of the "hands on" was amazing, and I've never seen a zoo so we'll staffed.
Despite its age, it's an awesome zoo! Some very creative and great animal displays, and a great workout since it's on the side of a mountain. Be prepared to walk uphill, but it's totally worth it! The bear habitat is the best!
Unfortunately the zoo was closed on the day we went there due to a hail storm. We later found out that it was a very bad storm that took lives of several animals, extensive damage on zoo and guest property. They were very responsive and quickly refunded our tickets. We are looking forward to visiting them again. I hope they recover from the storm soon.
Had a wounderful time with our family. How upclose you can get is beyond exciting.
Love the animals and location, and the sky ride was so fun!!
If you re looking for a different type of zoo experience this is it. Beautiful zoo in the mountains with different unique animals. They even have a sky ride that allows you to see thee animals in the area from a top view. Simply breath taking. They also have baby kangaroos around a section that allows you to have a more personal experience. Highly recommend.
Clean, beautiful property with the best employees. Everyone is so helpful and kind! Animals appear to be well cared for. By far my favorite zoo and Colorado attraction!
This is a great zoo. Very clean and easy to navigate. It was very busy but once you are in it does not feel like it. The elephants were great to watch. I really like when you enter they give you some coins and you can choose from different endangered species to contribute to.
I really had a great time and the exhibit was awesome. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting or the residents local to go experience the joy of wildlife. I will be back!!!
If you are in Colorado Springs or passing through it would be a shame to miss it! This zoo is well thought out. It is on the side of our foothills. The walk can be challenging but it's worth it. The habitats are really animal focused, meaning the people may not see them if they need some solitude. The elephants have a trail they walk on everyday. They have no time limit and get to enjoy the natural growth. They are working on a new facility for hippos and penguins. It is a true gem of your city.
Very fun, especially feeding the giraffes and watching the orangutans play.
Happy, healthy animals! Amazingly interactive, and super close up to the animals. My new favorite zoo!
I would go everyday if I could afford the time and money. Seen zoos around the world and this one is a treasure!!!
The zoo is absolutely stunning! The animals have huge enclosures and you can get amazing pictures of the different animals with no risk! Plus they have a LOT of interactive shows and ways to learn more about the amazing wildlife here. You can tell the staff work strictly for the welfare of these animals and know them by name. They definitely show care for these creatures.
Fun for kids and adults. Definitely get your exercise
Exciting zoo with well maintained exhibits. The gorillas were entertaining. They are currently building a new water centered facility. The price is $20 for adults but they honor military discounts for veterans. Dont miss the rhino feeding. You get the opportunity to feed the black rhinoceros carrots. Besides the animals the view is amazing. With the paid admission you can also drive up to the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun.
Great zoo in a unique location with awesome views. The kids loved it. Highly recommended!
The zoo is great and an amazing experience. I highly recommend going. Be aware, we experienced a glitch in the ticket purchasing system and received a different date than we ordered. They don't care and won't help you if you haven't noticed their glitch. You have until two weeks before your reservation time to notice it and request the change.
Great place to visit. My wife is disabled with a service dog and they were very friendly and let us know whee we could and could not go. Very good place!
Love the zoo, the staff and the programs they offer
Reasonably nice as far as zoos go. CMZ does a lot of conservation work and sends out ambassadors to local schools to talk about the zoo and real dangers facing animals every day. They also host a yearly program where a local middle school sends students to present on different endangered animals.
If you're going to visit, wear tennis shoes. This zoo is on a mountain and there is some hill-climbing required.
My biggest complaint is that while the weather here is frequently unpredictable and hail can get quite large, there doesn't seem to be adequate weather shelter for the animals.
Be ready to walk some serious hills. This zoo is on the side of Cheyenne mountain. Some of the best exhibits I've ever seen. Seeing the pack of wolves running through their wooded enclosure was fantastic. The grizzly bears, hippos, gorillas, and mountain lions were incredibly close. The giraffe feeding had everyone talking about it afterwards.
This will always be my favorite zoo! The staff are amazing and the animals look so happy and always have plenty to play with and do!
This is a great place to take kids. The swim park is the highlight and is enjoyable for adults too. Most swimming is setup as kids pools so no peaceful and relaxing adult swim areas. Great water slides which are fun for adults too. Outside the swim area there is 9 hole putt putt course. Course is short but fun for kids. Typical game room with ticket redemption for prizes. 4 small bowling lanes for kids. A pretty cool aerial climbing platform good for kids 8-12. Overall a good experience but I found food and drinks to be over priced. Rooms lacked enough towel racks for a wet hotel, no vent fans in bathrooms, parking is challenging during peak hours, elevator access was frustrating especially at check in and check out times and were broken a couple of times which didn't help.
The best!! My family and I spent almost 6 hours here. The variety of animals is phenomenal and the interaction options are exquisite.
Cool zoo, lots of different exhibits and a lot of ways to interact with the animals
This place sucks. Favorite part were the few chipmunks I saw roaming around.
Great place for kids. They will love feeding the animals
Lots of effort put in to this zoo, but we hardly saw animals because they were sleeping
The zoo on the mountain! This is a great zoo, and a great day trip, especially if you have kids. The view cannot be topped, especially if you drive through the zoo to the Shrine of the Sun. I appreciate that this zoo functions without state or federal tax dollars, instead relying on entry fees, memberships, and charity drives. They have excellent seasonal and themed events, too.
Great place for the kids. Got to see the baby orangataun, the giraffes and everything in between. Made for a solid 3-4 hour excursion. The food is a little pricey. Dont really understand how these places get off selling a bottle of soade for $4, that's more expensive than the airport... And you can bring your own soda in, so go figure...
Best place in Colorado Springs to take the family! Animals are very well cared for and mostly live in comfortable enclosures (there is an older monkey house from the old erra, but animals are well cared for and up keep of the building is good. Love the sloth!) Love all the hands in activities. Riding the tram to the top helps save lots of walking. Newer layout of the zoo, however, helps it not be so steep. Be aware the zoo is on the side of the moutain with amazing views. Favorite animal exhibits are the girrafes, bears and elephants! Animals are well loved!!
Good food in the resturaunts.
Just beautiful and the animals look healthy and happy !
This is the absolutely best zoo I have ever been to, fantastic diversity of animals. Plus they have a new exhibit coming soon!!!
Very nice zoo. Wide array of animal exhibits.
Plenty of areas to sit and rest in the shade because there is a lot of walking. Reasonably priced. Get the chair lift ride , it is worth it .
Enjoy myself very much.
Without leaving the state of Colorado, this is by far the best zoo around.
Up close and personal with the animals.
Feeding the giraffes is a highlight, and my family really enjoys the space that the animals seem to have, compared to the Denver zoo, which really needs a serious makeover. The animals seem content here, and well cared for.
So much space to walk around and enjoy your day.
If you re looking to choose..., it is well worth the drive. Pick, pick Cheyenne Mountain zoo.
You will be very pleased with your decision!
Fantastic zoo, Giraffes were pretty awesome, along with everything else!
Great zoo. Under construction for some animals but a great zoo w lots of hills for exercise. Make sure to feed the giraffes
Great zoo! Easy to do in a day, even an afternoon. All of the classic fun animals to see. Well organized and well done exhibits. Unfortunately when I went, their aquatic center was still under construction, so many exhibits were unavailable but the improvements look very promising! The gorillas were especially fun. Very informative and helpful to understand not just the animals there but also ways we can help protect wildlife and their habitats.
Lots of interactive experiences. Clean and nice big habitats
Great place. The bears put on a show when we were there. Food was good at the overlook restaurant.
All the animals were away or hidden and they didnt enforce the laws to help protect people from covid. Plus you have a limited amount of time not worth the 30 bucks.
Amazing! Thanks to all the people who work hard to make it possible!
Best zoo I've been to! Our fam loved it! The animal exhibits are set up so you can definitely get a glimpse of the animals and some are really up close. Lots of hands on things to do like feeding goats and chickens and petting adorable wallabies and feeding birds. AND... right when you walk in you get to feed the Giraffes, it was AWESOME!! They are right there in your face! All of this with breathtaking backdrops of the surrounding cities made it a perfect day! We spent 5 hours there and loved every second! We can't wait to go back!
A great zoo. We have a blast feeding the giraffes and chickens. It was a little cold so some of the animals were hiding or not out. We got there around feeding time so we heard the lions making noise waiting for their food- very cool.
Nice zoo, some buildings still closed due to covid-19. Was nice going there in winter, easier to climb those hills and not so crowded.
Great zoo with lots of interaction between guests/zoo staff and animals.
Holiday lights are awesome. Cool to see nocturnal animals moving around that are usually sleeping!
Sweet zoo on the hillside, you just check out the giraffes
