Fun little zoo experience but pretty much what you would expect.
Great variety of animals and Christmas decorations. Well done and organized!!!
We will be back.
This zoo is so much fun. Lots of hiking to get through it, but they've got great views, enthusiastic volunteers, and a ton of info. They have some really lovely updates to their animal enclosures, and it's a worthwhile visit for kids and adults alike.
A great place, all the workers were very informative about the animals, the lift was beautiful coming down with the view of the city. Great place for family or just a day out.
Definitely one of the gems of Colorado Springs. This zoo is so well managed and laid out with a wide array of animals. They also have good food (albeit a little pricey). We have been members for three years and go to the zoo at least 15-20 times a year. We love it!!
Excellent zoo, a little pricier than most but well worth it. It's not open like most zoos, more linear, which is a good thing. Its on the side of a mountain and you start at the bottom. You can hand feed giraffes as well for a fee. Their are a few rides, including a sky ride to a play area. Don't miss the Will Rogers Shrine that's included in your ticket.
We went last year and got so lucky! They were feeding the moose, rhino and porcupine, the elephant was taking a bath and playing in the water, and we got to pet a kangaroo! This year, however, half of the animals were off exhibit, so we were really let down. Everyone was joking about how they should offer a discount on days like that. It's a great place, they have good programming, but we were really disappointed they had so many animals of exhibit at once.
Haven't been here since I was a child. Loved the zoo and will definitely come back soon.
Great zoo. Lots of stuff to do and see for the kiddos.
Great place to experience, especially since it has such a fantastic learning environment with excellent facilities
Come here all the time. Great zoo! Can't wait for the Hippo/Penguin exhibit!
Loved this place. For a zoo on the side of a mountain, it is very well done
Best zoo I've been too great family fun .We were able to feed the giraffes and birds elephants. And the scenery was awesome as the zoo is on the mountain.
Way overpriced! Looks like a nice zoo but no one should have to pay $25 admission.
Cheyenne mountain zoo is the Best Zoo for People and Animals. The animals are so well taken care of, and the workers are all friendly and helpful with information about the animals. Our grand children love coming here a couple times a month. Our membership was one of the best investments we could of made. Making memories here are priceless.
Very nice zoo but since it was late in the season not very many of the vendors were open however the gift shop was.
Good winter light show, but no Christmas lights. Animals inside, due to cold.
Never made it in to the park. Too expensive! Overcrowded. Very confusing pricing.changed by season weekend etc.
This place is so beautiful. The best zoo experience I've ever had. It is built into the side of the mountain and is quite an easy walk through. The feeding experiences throughout are amazing. Feeding the giraffes was so much fun. We didn't take the lift, but definitely will the next time make it out here!
I love the location of this zoo! The views are amazing and I like that I feel like I got a little workout in going up and down the hills. I do wish there was more parking, but overall we had a great experience here.
A fun and unique zoo with many great vantage points to see the animals.
Cool little place, lots to see but to small of an area to house 100+ animals make zoo bigger!!!
This place is always a good time! Right now they have a few baby animals there and they know how to show them off but remain humane to the animals. Also COVID19 regs are just right.
Ok this is literally the best zoo don't even try to fight me on this one. There are so many interactive activities with the animals. You can feed so many giraffes. So many that when you get to the area giraffes are just waiting with their tongues out for you to insert lettuce. Its the best. You can also feed an elephant, a rhino, goats, birds, chickens. Theres a ski lift that goes over the whole zoo that is so relaxing and has amazing views of the mountains and city. And you can see straight down into the animal enclosures. Theres also an area where wallabies are just walking around with no fence or anything between you and them. I love this place and I am so sure that whoever is reading this has to go here.
This is a beautiful zoo. It's a completely different experience from other zoos. They have great exhibits that are very interactive. We got to feed the giraffes and my son got to feed a hippo.
Awesome experience feeding giraffes, rhino and elephants. The zoo does a fantastic job in allowing visitors to interact with the anamials then taking the proceeds and using it towards conservation and protection efforts.
Our favorite exhibit is the giraffes! We could get up close & personal. They were curious. The CO City views were spectacular. Get ready to hike! The lions, grizzly bears & the variety of other animals & areas was fantastic. We only scratched the surface in 2 hrs. The staff seems to be managing the crowds well with the COVID virus requirements. We'll be back!
Definitely one of the best zoos I have ever been to! The habitats are so incredible and spacious, but well laid out so you can still see most of the animals even when they're lounging out of the direct line of sight. They have lots of interactive options for animal feedings and encounters, and there are so many great plaques up to explain what you're looking at. They definitely have a focus on conservation, which is a really nice thing to see. I went on a Monday so it wasn't too busy, and it was a wonderful zoo experience.
Destiny was the stand out star employee of my trip to the Zoo today! She was such an Angel, very polite, helpful, kind, and professional! Wow! Thank you Destiny!!
Since this place is on Cheyenne Mountain there is a beautiful view of Colorado Springs. The animals seem very well cared for and there are lots of little presentations/talks at different exhibits throughout the day every day of the week. Since it is on a hill, be prepared to do a lot of walking up/downs hills. Paved walkways and they do offer a shuttle service for 2$/day. They have a wide variety of animals. And lots of information on greater conservation efforts. Well worth the visit.
Adorable baby giraffe. You can even feed the giraffes. Beautiful views of area can be seen as you walk around.
The zoo and staff are doing an excellent job trying to accommodate visitors and maintain compliance with the current rules. They can't be everywhere and loads of people fail to help them avoid being shutdown. I must say they've done quite well given the multitude of restrictions. Thank you to you all for keeping such a valuable and educational resource available to kids and their parents.
Giraffe feeding is always the favorite stop which makes this zoo a must do in Colorado Springs.
Holy freaking moly this place was far beyond expected!!!! Tons of wide variety of animals, active and looking real healthy! All of the staff were informative and courteous! Even tips of best how to navigate the zoo! The habitats look more natural because they are. Feeding the birds and the giraffes was amazing. Huge huge hugely recommend coming here! I love in broomfield and it is well worth the drive for me and my nephews!
Hands down, without a doubt the best zoo we have ever visited yes, even better than San Diego, CA. The giraffe experience is unmatched and unbelievably affordable! About a dozen giraffes walk over and are happy to be fed lettuce. You get an amazing up close experience! The primate building was also a huge hit with our toddler. The playground allowed for the littles in our group to get the wiggles out and enjoy some playtime to break up the day.Our 16 month old walked the majority of the day despite the hills. The grounds are stroller friendly and very spacious providing an extra sense of safety given covid-19. Most patrons respected the mask rules and were courteous about allowing enough space between families/play pods. Several bathrooms were located throughout the park with changing tables as well as refill water stations both a huge plus!
Love this zoo. I am from Denver area, so normally I go to the Denver zoo. But this is now my favorite zoo. We went during the most cold time of year when it was freezing to walk around, so I definitely want to come back. This zoo is beautiful. I love the Will Rogers Shrine as well.
This was hands down the best zoo experience we've ever had, and we came in the off-season!
Staff were friendly, animals were healthy, viewing areas were well designed.
We can't wait to come back for a night visit!
Great for kids and old "kids." We didn't do the chair lift ride, but it looked like fun. It flies over some of the enclosures.
And the giraffes are amazing! You can feed them and everything. Getting to be so close to these animals was incredible.
OH MY! Totally worth it.
Fantastic place for kids and adults. Animals and their enclosures are very well taken care of. The ski lift ride is also worth it. I have a 6 year old and it was an epic day. We said 10 outta 10. Highlights; we got to pet wallabies, we were less than a foot away from penguins, we get giraffes, saw lions up close, gorillas, rhinos, fed birds they even landed on our hands for the millet. Cool yutes(fancy tents) at the top you can relax. And sweeping amazing views! We Will be going back within 6 months. Allocate at minimum 3 hours.
The zoo is a lot of fun. My kids really enjoy feeding the giraffes. The carousel always gets a smile. Didn't do enclosures the zoo is building are spectacular.
Decent zoo with lots of places for kids to play. Currently under COVID restrictions (March 2021).
Nicely setup, nice views, but not many animals compared to any other zoo.
My Mom and I always visit the Colorado Zoo's when she's in town and we love Cheyenne Mountain Zoo everytime. Thank you
Big and open, even with covid very clear pathways on how to stay safe. Only zoo i have even been to where you could see the animals and not feel miles away
We have so much fun every time we go. The animals seem happy and well cared for and the environment is beautiful.
Beautiful zoo!! We always have so much fun here. The lady who sold us tickets was not friendly at all, but I'm still giving it 5 stars because the other staff members were nice.
I love that you can literally feed the giraffes! Lots of walking up hills but they do have carts that you can pay to ride in.
This was such a fun zoo to visit! We visited on a cold day, but my kiddos still had fun! I can't wait to go back!
Very nice facilities that takes great care of their animals. Allows for super personable interactions with them and has a very knowledgeable staff. Great views of Colorado Springs to go along with it. Note: Not a ton of walking but the Zoo does reside on a hill so people with mobility limitations might struggle without the SkyRide or shuttles.
Nicest zoo I ve been to and rated one of top zoos in the US. Animals looked well cared for and amazing views from several places in the zoo. For $4 the chair lift was really fun.
The Zoo is a wonderful place to visit for all ages and abilities
The zoo is wonderful.but is awfully packed due to covid and way too many large groups I saw a family of 12 and social distancing wasn't in place through out the zoo so many herded in groups in front where everyone is passing through and every display of animal were over crowded there should limit of people I think today there at least 500 people pretty disappointing it is social distancing waiting to go in but not in the zoo itself
Love this place. We get the yearly membership since it's so close and it gets us out of the house when it's nice outside.
Highly recommend this place if you never been here before.
Food is great here as well. They serve pretty good meals not fast food carnival food.
Showed up at my scheduled time and hung out in a down poor for 60 mins. Asked if they offer rain checks and was told tickets and non refundable or exchangeable. I m sure it s a great zoo as I ve heard outstanding recommendations but unfortunately didn t get to experience it and don t want to pay double so thus the 1 star.
Amazing experience! My whole family is so happy with this zoo so many species you can't see in most zoos. we will definitely be back to see the baby wallaby and we're super excited to see the new hippo and penguin habitats. Great job CMZ.!
This is an amazing zoo. Thiers alot of walki g up and down hills. But the habitats are more than just plastic boxes and painted walls unlike the Philadelphia zoo. The zoo employees actually come up to you and explain stuff about the animals , like how old they are and places they've been. The food is pretty good too.
Wonderful views and layout of zoo. The animals are close and easy to see.
Great zoo, you can bring in your own food and drink
Always a family friendly trip. The electric safari was great.
Fun time interacting with some of the animals was cool experience. Good work out too.
Great zoo, with lots of animals to see. Be prepared to walk(wear comfortable shoes).
My family has been to several major zoos across the country and I have to say this is one of the best! The enclosures weren't so huge that you can't see the animals and there were several interactive experiences. I highly recommend making the drive if you're visiting Denver.
I always have a great time seeing the animals and the new baby animals the baby animals are cute 5
I hadn't been here since I was young, so I was very excited to be back. We first went up to the Shrine at the top of the mountain which was absolutely gorgeous. A view like no other. My favorite part of this zoo, is definitely going to be the giraffes. They are so loving and sweet. I feel like this zoo is so unique in many ways in the way the let their little animals run free and the displays are set up differently unlike Denver Zoo. Love this zoo.
This place is beautiful huge and so different! They have so many different kinds of animals it's so amazing and I'm so glad that I went !
It's was pretty cool to see some animals. Others just look sad, or are not to active in the day time. But kids left happy.
Very unique and fun setup for a zoo on the side of a mountain. Captivities are large where you don't feel bad for the animals but can still see most (best time to see them active is after a rain).
This place is amazing..the entire zoo staff is amazing.great place to do community service..get involved with the community..even the chefs that work here are outstanding.the grounds crew do a fine job with upkeep .one of the best zoos I've been too
I had an awesome day here! Will be going again because I didn't visit as many animals as I would have liked too.
Breathtaking zoo. Friendly staff. One of the giraffes tried to eat my map.
One of the best zoos I ve ever been to. Great for the kids. They absolutely loved feeding the giraffes. Note; it s a bit of a hike but well north it.
Great place to bring the family. Definitely worth the time and money.
