Incredible place for a family trip. Loads to see and do. Hotels were brilliant and the kids entertainment in the evening was fantastic
I love this place I'm not a thrill seeker and dont really like roller coasters but luckily Chessington have everything for everyone they also have the sea life
excellent for young children plenty of food and drinks places altho can be expensive
My favourite place ever. Rides are amazing me and my family go here regularly. Hotels stunning .. We love love love
Great day out. Great for children and adults alike.
We visited on monday 17th August and had a terrible experience. We stuck it out because it was my sons birthday but we basically spent the whole day queuing and in totally unsafe situations. This place should not be open at the moment as it clearly cannot maintain any social distancing or mask wearing. I think we wasted around 90 minutes just trying to get in and out the place. If you are thinking of visiting here don't! You will be disappointed. The animals all seemed very miserable and there was a deer just circling his enclosure which was very sad to watch.
It's a fun day out however I feel it lacks a curtain urgency. The glacial pace of the queue in the burger restaurant lost us a good 45 minutes despite there only being 4 people in front of me.
Having said that the young staff in the park were very cheerful and helpful
Too busy each ride you have to wait 40-90 minutes on average outside in the cold. Way too many people aloud to skip the queue for whatever reason I understand some can't queue but the numbers that do take the p!ss. I will not be renewing are passes. There should be a system in place so you don't have to stand out in the cold and rain for ages like a time slot
Love the fact there's a zoo and rides, great place to visit
OK but obviously aimed at kids and looking very shabby and tired. The attendant Tyler on the Rameses Revenge needs to attend a good course on Customer Services after asking me to leave the ride without any explanation whatsoever. This was downright humiliating and the guy was extremely lucky I kept my cool. Out of the three theme parks we visited over the weekend, I can truthfully say that Chessington is the poorest out of them (Alton Towers, Chessington, Thorpe Park). Alton Towers is and always has been the best theme park in Britain in my own opinion.
We had a slight issue on the 14th of June with regards to purchasing tickets. I have been trying to contact them directly over the phone, online (don't even bother trying to use live chat as it doesn't work and is not available) and email, but I have not had a response yet, which is quite frustrating! Every time you call the phone numbers, no one answers and when you leave a voicemail no one returns your call. I really hope someone will email or call me back as soon as possible!?
2) ALSO... I went to the ladies toilets where The Gruffalo ride is. As I came out of the cubicle, the man cleaning the toilets shouted to himself "oh hurry up for goodness sake" (I assume he wanted them to be quick so he could clean the place) and sprayed the bleach or chemicals they use to clean the toilets, over the top of each cubicle spraying people who are using the toilets and walked out. I couldn't get his name but I did inform a manager and an employee there at the time. He's an older man with a lot of tattoos on his arms. Disgusting behaviour from this creature. Imagine if you are a person or a child who is allergic to chemicals and then he's there spraying you.
Had the best time, all the gruffalo stuff is fantastic. We stayed in a standard room at the safari hotel and it was lovely.
A wonderful family day out on a gorgeous, sunny day! I prefer Chessington World's of Adventure when I come with children because there is a lot more for the little ones to do. The new Tiger themed ride and tiger viewing area is really good.
It's a shame that the park and restaurants close at 5, so when you come, bring plenty of snacks and be prepared to stand for a long time in the queue for popular rides, unless you buy fast track tickets....
Highly recommend that of you stay at the hotel to book the giraffe experience I loved it
Was way to busy, supposed to be limited numbers, had to queue one and a half hrs per ride, not good for the kids who are so impatient.
I used to love Chessington but I was quite disappointed on my last visit. They have had a change around with the parking and we had to walk through fields of squelchy mud (probably ok in the summer) to get to the main gate ( which has also moved since my last visit). The mono rail has gone which surprised me as it was always very popular.
The only saving grace for me was the fantastic vampire ride (stupidly long wait even when it's raining!) and the laugh out loud rattlesnake ride. Saying that, this is a great day out if you haven't been before and there is loads to do.
Good day out for families, a little tired in places and a couple of rides not working.staff friendly and helpful.
The rides are great! But can take up to 3 hours to get on one. Take megga amounts of money with you, the grounds are full of expensive games and machines. Food is expensive in the hotel and the grounds. It's a good day out but sadly not the best. The paths are in a bad state of repair, resulting in my ending up in a wheelchair. No zoo just a few animals dotted about. The window in our hotel room had something thrown all over it and it was still the same 3 days later when we left!
Don't cheap out get fast track tickets definitely needed wish I got them
Brilliant for children.if you want thrilling coasters etc go to Thorpe park.plus there's the animals to see at Chessington.also the hotel is lovely..
I have a premium merlin pass yet I'm unable to do a booking for a special date, there are spaces available but not for a merlin pass holder!?
Considering I have a premium pass, I would like to think this would give priority over bookings.
Along with not being able to make my booking after months of not being able to enjoy the pass due to understandable reasons, I can not book the special date.
Live chat is unavailable but states it available, calls are not being taken and an email response is taking up to 2 weeks.
This is so disappointing as if I were to purchase a full ticket, there is availability but as a premium pass holder I cannot!!
I'm absolutely appalled!!
We went glamping and had so much fun outdoors but with some home comforts. The park was fantastic, our favourite part was Tiger Rock. Lots of great places to eat.
Surprisingly quite today! Parks are clean, staff are great! We will keep going back!
Great day out my little boy loved the gruffalo Xmas special.
Was pessimistic before going but had a great day. Really like the set up and variety & was happily surprised
Love it we go there 2 or 3 time a year kids love it.
Really good theme park and food and drink prices are very reasonable.
Really good for the kids. We stayed overnight in the resort hotel. The children loved it. Lots of things to see and do for ages 2 and up.
This is an amazing family friendly theme park that has fast and intense rides for the brave, and slower and calmer rides for the more light hearted and the younger. It not only has rides, but it also has a large animal area full of loads of different animals from lions to snakes! it even has its own little sea life in the park with no extra cost!
Needs attention, ride not working, looks run down, will not be rushing back there with the children
We stay each year for my wife's birthday this was an awful experience.
On top of being in the unclean room cleaned twice still dirty, not allowed to upgrade being premium pass holders, TV not working, awful pillows, poor food we not had a good time at all or slept well. I would like a refund please. It really has been awful and I'm not sure we will come back we come to stay here annually. We have spoken to managers on site and offered 50% off our stay and they have seen the srate of the room for themselves. I have photos too.
Kelly renshaw we spoke to.
Also to be put in down graded room with pull out bed for my son is not acceptable. This room was cheaper and I can't believe we were down graded rather than upgrades at the time of check in there was an upgrade of room on the broom available but a manager said no. As it was too much of an upgrade to us.
I've never had this at alton towers ever. It's shocking.
Wife's birthday and family treat spolit and I won't get that time back.
Keeley in the restaurant is lovely. Member of staff.
Amazing holiday location, loads for the kids to do with a well themed hotel. Collecting the coins from different activities and swapping them with staff members also keeps them entertained.
We just love this place. More to it than just a theme park thanks to its array of animal enclosures. No matter the weather or age there is a great day to be had. The Hotel can also transform your visit too, well worth the money.
We stayed in the hotel and kids loved it. After hours we were allowed back in to see the animals which was lovely
with bags & with out bags people have to queue up in the same line For very long time & when tried talking with staff at the entrance gate she is very rude & said instead of wasting time start walking
Had a great time here. Kids loved it. We stayed in the safari hotel. Evening entertainment was good aswell
As a manual wheelchair user I found the site very hilly and difficult to get around. Much of the ground is paved but uneven and I nearly tipped out of my chair several times.
There are lots of rides I cannot go on, despite being able to transfer from my chair, because they have steps or claim that you have to be able to walk/use steps because of their emergency procedures (other theme parks manage without that rule...)
There seemed to be lots of staff wandering aimlessly about, but not enough staff to run the rides and food serveries - the queues for coffee were longer than for the roller coasters!
Visited over two days . Lovely place but not a lot of rides for under fives .Gruffolo ride was broken down but soon fixed and glad we queued for it . Loved it as much as the kids. Older children will love the fast thrilling rides .Good value compared to some theme parks .
Good day out. Even though this was opening day and cold it was very busy. The wind kept some of the main bigger rides closed so bare this in mind on the day you go, as it made some of the other rides very busy. Lots of animals, some we didn't see due to the cold. Would certainly come back again but next time when bit warmer.
Good rides and lovely zoo. Some parts could do woth a bit of a refurb, but gteat plave to take young children. Terrible food service though. Not many restaurants. Waited 45 min in line for hot dogs as 3 out of 5 of the workers were just chatting and on their phones. No manager or adult in sight.
Love Chessington so much! It's the park we always went to when I was a kid so going back was so much nostalgia for me!
Went on Easter Bank Holiday. Very short queues and a great day. We were given creme eggs by staff at end of the day too!
A nice day out for the kids, was a really hot day so waiting in lines was abit unbearable. But overall typical feeling of a theme park
go to the arcade and win a Timon, Timon the meerkat from lion king, Timon friend of pumba, timon
Very lovely place, i will come here more often :)
I'm sorry but my experience at the amusement park was quite horrible. They did not accept cash at almost every eatery in sight and the actual fun-looking rides were all under maintenance. Additionally the park was not suitable for ages over ten and classified thirteen year olds as adults just to scam adults out of their money
Really great place and much more entertaining than I had expected. However, I'm not giving it 5 stars due to the sheer length of waits to get on some queues in excess of 2 hours. My advice? Get there at opening time and go straight to vampire and dragon rides.. Then buy a fast track ticket for land of the tiger definitely worth going.. Oh and dont forget your car ticket needs to be purchased on leaving the turnstiles
Beautiful animals with wide range of fun activity for both children and adults
Visited 31/12/19 so end of season. Parking was not well signposted - only one was open. There were a number of people wandering around looking for how to get in. Lots of areas of the park were closed limiting the number of attractions. A number of food courts/restaurants were closed.
I went with my 3 grandson (1 wich is disabled). When you have to go down flights of stairs through back entrances to get rides that are unsafe to use due to being wet and slippy, then it wasn't a great start.
From the start because of the location (Near London) I knew it was going to be expensive. But how expensive I wasn't prepared for.
Before you start saying well you should of taken these things with you, yes I did.
It was just a money making operation.
The staff weren't that helpful throughout the day, no doubt due to the constant queues all day.
This is why I gave it a 2* rating. Won't be going back.
Awesome. It is not huge though but good for younger riders and if you are looking for the best of the best try another park but good for unexpected trips.
Very good for children with special needs as the staff are so sweet and go extra mile to make sure you have a great time
Awesome place worth going with family great day out
Chessington seems to be running understaffed and under resourced at the moment. Perhaps we are not in peak season yet and it will have more staff later in the Summer, but for now, the team members running the attractions seem very inexperienced and in short supply. I am sure the venue complies with minimum safety standards and at least one experienced member is staff is supervising/training the newer ones but we would have enjoyed it more if things moved more fluidly and staff could answer our fairly simple enquiries.
Our brand new Merlin cards did not work on the way in. They also did not open the barrier to get out of the car park. There was no attendant and no working intercom. Luckily another visitor used their card to open the gate for us.
However, I am speaking as an adult. My child had a good time and that's what we went there for. Her favourite ride was closed which was a shame, but she enjoyed the rest. It's still a good place to take children.
It will be interesting to see if the Lego buy out will mean more investment in Chessington.
Great place and full of adventure. Specially the Lion and Giraffe are great
WOW! What a wonderful day out. I was amazed by the detail and quality of their rides and animal habitats. Perfect for adults and children of all ages
There is plenty to do and see. I didn't have to queue for too long and the fast track tickets were reasonably priced. I saw lots of places to eat and drink and you could easily find shelter from the sun. I thoroughly enjoyed the time and ramasis revenge was well worth a go aswell as the vampire and dragons fury.
The park and staff were nice. I'm probably being picky but there were kids running up and down the hall at nearly midnight and the connecting door is the room offered no soundproofing at all. This led to one of the worst night's sleep I've had in years
Wicked day but shocked to see loads of rats in with monkeys etc
Really good, even for young children. Plenty to do & see. Only problem was the last 2 miles getting there; queued back due to only one access road in to car parks open
Excellent place for family with small children who would love small rollercoaster and other little attraction
Was fun... A real adventure, lots of entertainment!! Be ware of exhaustion especially with more than one kid!! Other than that amazing 5* will deffo be going back. Great value upgrades, very nice staff. Allowed to vape which is always a plus.. Barley any pokemon stops :( my kid was not impressed. Brilliant new rides lots of passion.
This place is great but could be better. A great choice of different rides. This park was very clean.
The sea centre is beautiful but there isn't so much going on there. It takes few minutes to go round it.
I like how they use different themes throughout the park.
The ride in the military like truck to see the giraffes, the zebra, the ostrich etc... was very good.
The main attractions are really the different rides. The restrictions are set in height.from 1m and above there are lots of rides. There are also rides for the younger ones.
We go here at least once a year. Always a great experience. Good rides, lots to see and do, helpful staff and nice food. Cant wait to book our next visit.
Thorpe park is better organised but the rides are fun
Fantastic time, quick waiting time on rides, food was delicious
Which I could but my grand children are in them but I daughter won't let me show s photo with then in
Poor experience too many people in park no chance to social distance. Too many shops shut hence long ques. Lack of toilets. Soda machines not looked after all empty. Would avoid. Its says a Zoo which is a few animals not really a zoo of any size
The Park is amazing! There are plenty of rides, animals to see and beauty to admire.
We stayed at the resort in a standard room as it was convenient, I am not sure if it's due to the Covid measurements but I found less facilities in the room than I would find in a room in a budget hotel. Also, it was extremely noisy at night, door being slammed were heard until late, shouting, stomping and laughing. I know these could be because of the inconsiderate people however I believe that the doors can be set to close slowly or be fixed to avoid being slammed every time anyone use them.
We had dinner at the resort restaurant, it was fantastic. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was luscious.
Too busy queues way to long and no social distancing.
Had a good time with the children even though only part open. Enjoyed the animals and nice place to go in winter.
Can spend hours looking at the animals. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Chessington is a great day out for the family if you have a child over 1 metre tall! If you're child is under 1 metre then the park is very limited. And queuing is a joke as well?.
Friendly staff, lots to do, great food, very helpful, good disabled access
Staff great, some customers not so great on the social distancing but at least the park was trying to enforce social distancing and mask wearing
A lovely place for a fabulous family fun day. Excellent staff with great customer services. Very friendly people among the whole crowd. Kids loved the place.
Love the zoo, theme park opening later in March. Reasonable prices. Not a lot for vegetarians to eat though, would be 5 Star with a better vegetarian menu.
Went in December, lots of the park closed, and as I'd travelled 3 hours to get there, I was quite vexed at that. Park itself was lovely. Targeted towards under 10 years olds. Staff were mostly friendly and helpful. I would go again, but not in December.
couldn't see loads of the animals and my daughter and son couldn't go on many rides. although there are bigger rides at other parks that they could go on
Had a nice visit my 1 year old enjoyed the animals and the hotel looking over the enclosure. I would of given four stars but we had an issue with our Merlin VIP pass that was not managed very well at the time or after a complaint.
Fantastic day out, for families, adults or school parties. Loads of rides and attractions, and a zoo and play areas.
There are food outlets and kiosks all around the park, and a lot of gift shops.
Older people may find the walking from one area to another a bit difficult. Waiting times are much longer at peak periods throughout the year, weekends etc, so it's better to try and go when it's quieter. On a nice sunny day, it's a great day out, and if you can get discount vouchers, it's not too expensive.
Great day out with the family lots of rides for the kids to do
Busy even for a wet start, enjoyed our day and hope to vist again to see anything we missed this time! But still got vists to Thorpe park and Alton towers to fit in i think it might be next year now. Well done chessington
Just taken my 2 kids. We had a nice time but my god the ques are way too long for EVERYTHING! Toilets, food, rides, parking, it's way too long to wait for such short rides. We didn't even use any larger rides because the kids are too little, I'm just talking about the kiddie rides. The staff were happy and friendly but sooooo slow! They could see the ques, people complaining but they did nothing to try and speed it up. One was even standing talking about when she could go on break! The biggest thing this park needs is Aldi staff to run it. Also to stop letting older kids onto the kiddie rides. This would shorten the lines. Overall is fun but expensive for the amount of stuff we could actually use.
Great night roar and explore kids loved it hands on with some of the animals good idea and for a good cause well done chessington
Just a shame that rides kepted braking down. And also you could do with lot more benches around the park.
Absolutely loved it here, so much to do! Lots of fun theme park rides, as well as all the animals around the park & in the zoo. The sea life centre was amazing too, at one point you walk through a tunnel which goes through one of the aquariums so you are surrounded by fish & sharks! Staff were all friendly and helpful, we spent 2 days there & still didn't manage to fit everything in! We managed to see the amur tiger feeding & talk as well as the Sumatran tigers, both were amazing. We attended quite a few animal talks & displays which were all informative & interesting. The sea lion show was great as well. We had so much fun, thanks chessington!
Had a lot of fun, but the park appears to be entirely run by teenagers, not that the staff are bad but there is an element of thoughtlessness that you would expect from this. For example I probably could have had the same experience for free as nothing was checked and I talked my way through every checkpoint with noone particularly interested in seeing the tickets on my phone.
All what you'd expect. Could be better if they didn't allow people prepared to pay more jump the queues. Leaves you wondering how long you'll wait.
