I can't lie, I've heard so many horror stories the past few years, but I was so pleasantly surprised my last two visits! Check-in was friendly, prompt, and efficient; I didn't feel rushed by doctors or any staff; I felt taken care of and heard both times. Granted I only went in for a checkup and a follow-up, but keep up the great work! Hopefully I won't be back soon :)

Very mixed reviews, I also had a deviated septum done, but I didn't feel like it helped my breathing. Dr. Henry then did double jaw surgery and cleared out my nose way better than Dr. Wilson. The ENT dept is a little weak, I'm pretty sure there is something wrong with ears that is not being addressed as well. I'd say go the walk in clinic or a private service since the quality seems to be dropping in the last couple years. Maybe not the hospital's fault?

hospital is complete crap. .. maybe I'll add more later.. i have been going there for twenty years.. they just don't give a crap. Like the old phone company . "We are the only game in town so, WE DON'T CARE! ".. i had to ADD to this review. .I READ THE RESPONSE FROM THE HOSPITAL. . WHERE THEY HAVE A PATIENT RESPONSE LINE OR WHAT EVER IT'S CALLED, only dial that number of you want to be FURTHER EXASPERATED, FRUSTRATED AND DISSATISFIED. .. IT IS A NONSENSE NUMBER TO GET RID OF YOU AND BASICALLY A CIRCULAR FILE

Couple years ago, first time I saw Nurse Practitioner Lisa Profetto, first thing she said was, "I'm taking you OFF your meds! When I asked why?, she said, "Because I don't know you well enough!"....Never went back to her. Finally saw Dr. Hall. HE took me of my meds, when I refused to sign their ILLEGAL "Drug Contract" Said I'd "rather jump off a bridge", as a figure of speech. But HE heard it as a "suicide" thing! Then, he refused to put me back on my meds.
Their ER? Took over 15 trips to ER, including getting kicked out of ER 3 times, and once they CALLED the COPS! Cops showed, and cop I know just gave me a ride home.
No wonder their quack shrink Marcia Pabo recently "suddenly departed"!
CMC/DHK SUCKS!, SUCKS! SUCKS! Avoid it like the PLAGUE - if you can. There's NO Dr. NOT connected to CMC/DHK in Keene. God, I WISH I was just making this up. Christine Scheffler, Patient Rep, now refuses to reply to me. Oh, and their Lawyer, from *Sulloway & Hollis* THREATENED me in email, 3 days before a surgery. I HAD TO cancel it. Like I said, this place SUX! ALL TRUE! signed under penalties of perjury. Bradford Hutchngson. AVOID THIS Hosp.!....
Oh, yeah, I will EDIT this review, all right! I AFFIRM the TRUTH of it! CMC/DHK is the WORST.
Especially if you have Medicare/Medicaid. Their bogus "Healthy Monadnock" money-scam is a joke, too! Yeah, they just might be the "healthiest" hospital by 2020 - their stated goal. They're gonna acheive that by KILLING all the SICK folks! Sure seems that way to me. Horrible reputation in the community, too! ~B.02/05/2012

I feel it's my duty to give you my input on CMC in Keene, NH.
I have been going here for many many years. This year was the very first time to have surgery here on my shoulder. )I have had other surgeries but not here.)
I have to say, I am so impressed and I was at ease all the way through the process. I have never had a surgical facility so thorough as CMC. I felt so important going through all the red tape before and after surgery. The nurses and all the staff involved were so on top of everything you just felt as you really mattered and not like a robotic number. I am so happy with them, not only with the staff but the surgery as well that I am going to schedule through their orthopedic office for my knee now instead of a neighboring facility. And actually look forward to it! Thank you CMC! Other places I have been have had a glitch here or there, but not CMC at all. I highly recommend CMC! And for myself to take the time to share this info, is because I firmly believe nothing but 100% with CMC! Thanks Again.

Wow, lots of bad reviews! I've had very good care over the years. The Ob/Gyn and maternity dept at the hospital were wonderful with my daughter's pregnancy and birth. The docs and staff at Team D take time with me and I feel like I am a partner in my care. Our one ER visit took a few hours, but that it just how ER's work - they have to keep triaging as new patients come in. I do wish you didn't have to go through central registration and could go directly to the department instead, but it is not that big a deal.

I do wish they would renumber their floors 1,2,3,4. I have never figured out the sequencing with 2A thrown in there. Seems like the end of each staircase could simply be a new floor.

This place is a disaster. In my 25 years living in Keene I can only say 2 nice things about this hospital; an obgyn that I've seen in the past was great, and the team that drove the ambulance to Dartmouth Hitchcock was wonderful. Everything else has been a nightmare. I'm sure plenty of people have had great experiences here, but I can't say the same.

Since I am a resident in Walpole I go to the Walpole Clinic branch, and the staff there is very nice, but I can't continue dealing with Cheshire Medical Center and their billing department. I have been receiving bills 1 1/5-3 weeks after the invoice date leaving me with only a few days to pay the bill.

Most recently I called to inquire as to why a service from Feb 3rd didn't show up on a bill until May 3rd and the customer service rep blamed my insurance. While I don't doubt my insurance took forever to pay their portion of the bill, I find it hard to believe they were completely at fault especially considering it has taken Cheshire Medical 3 weeks at times to mail me a bill. When I asked the customer service why they would date an invoice on April 4th, but I wouldn't receive it until April 26th the rep replied "Well I don't know what to say about that". The rep was rude, and at one point finally said "I'm not sure what you expect me to do?!". I could tell she just wanted me off the phone so I responded to her very politely "I guess nothing. That's what I've come to expect from this hospital; nothing. Thank you" and I hung up the phone. I didn't want to hang up on the rep, but I also didn't want to continue a conversation with someone that didn't care about helping me or taking even a little bit of responsibility for the problems I was experiencing.

I was never rude to the rep, nor did I demand anything of her except to know why it was taking them so long to get my bills mailed to me. 10 minutes after I ended the phone call, I received a voice mail from the automated attendant at Cheshire Medical asking me to return their call. I never called them back, because, and I'm assuming of course, they wanted to discuss my hanging up on the customer service rep, but if they were really concerned they should have had a real person call me back, not some automated attendant. And I find it funny that, it only took Cheshire Medical 3 DAYS to cash my check, but weeks to send me an updated invoice, or any invoice for that matter. I mailed my check out on Friday and it was cashed the following Tuesday by 10am.

Clearly Cheshire Medical needs to work on it's customer service skills. Maybe they could take all the money and man hours they spend on sending me brochures about how to quit smoking seminars (hello I don't smoke!) and surveys about my recent scheduled appointments, and spend the money and time on some customer service training and staff competent enough to mail the bills out on time.

The primary care provider I have and the "team" that she is a member of seem to me to be just going through the motions , I doubt they could care any less about quality of care . More often than not the "primary care provider" who is an MD is not available, so I end up seeing someone else, and it's usually someone different each time, which in a pathetic sort of way is a good thing because most of the time the MD that's listed as my "primary care provider" acts ,distracted and disengaged.
The people behind the front desk are rude and seem uninformed and careless.

Crappy service and rude staff for one but for two as I'm sitting here writing this review there is an employee of the hospital sitting right across from me talking about patients using said patients full name! What happened to patient privacy????? This isn't the first time I've seen an employee talking about patients using full name and what's wrong with them and what meds they are on!!!!! Won't be returning to the hospital or the walk in cuz I don't want my privacy and medical history talked about in public cuz my medical history is nobody's business but mine! Cheshire hospital needs to smarten the f*** up!!!!!! Oh and hire ppl who actually care about patients and their health not just give them an aspirin and say they're fine!

Bethany, when you called it seems like you asked about how much the allergy testing was going to be. That was only 200 more than you were quoted, did anyone take in account that there is also an office visit? Also, since you say you don't go there, I am sure the visit fee was higher as your husband would be a new patient. ....

Why are you giving a PCP??? I am always told mine isn't available when I need him unless it's a schedule regular visit. Always referred to someone else or giving an appt up to 2 weeks away. Poor care and treatment.

it is becoming increasingly difficult to see a physician when one is needed. this is a deplorable state for Cheshire Medical Center. My elderly neighbor broke her shoulder in two places and was in tremendous pain. she went to the ER and was turned away because they were too busy!! She is not an immigrant without health insurance!!!

my son's fiance had a painful sinus infection. she was unable to see her regular dr. which she says is always the case when she calls for an appt. the dr. who saw her sent her home with tylenol and told her to rest!! When she got home she started coughing up blood!! What kind of fool advice do these doctors give patients!! No one needs a medical degree to prescribe tylenol!!! the clinic refused to let her see her ENT who has a medical history with her......instead she sees a dr. who does not know her from a bar of soap!!!

The maternity center is awful! They just treat you as a number and if you opt out of any exam they want to do they are appalled. They push as many exams as they can because $$$. They definitely don t treat you like a person and I was very insulted by them on more than one occasion. I switched to Greenfield because Keene was so bad.

When you arrive at 4:30 and it takes 3 hours before you are looked at, that is uncalled for! This hospital is nothing short of being a animal hospital! Shame on you all! Worst bedside mangers I have EVER seen. Absolutely no respect for the alderly.

Had to come here with my son as we were in area and he had an accident., had to have emergency surgery here which wasnt a good experience.i wont get into detail as its a long story but ended up back in Boston to fix the injury properly. Just made me appreciate the care we recieved in Boston compared to other places like this medical center. If you can take the 2hour trip to Boston...go!

The doctors and staff have always been kind and efficient, and very professional, in my experience. The newer system seems to work nicely, no more waiting around. I think Keene is fortunate to have a top notch facility close at hand.

If I could give it a FAT ZERO i would but the review doesn't allow me to. Today I'm here with chest pains and shortness of breath. Not due to covid at all. I've sat here almost 3 hours, thank God I am not having a heart attack because id be dead already. They left the ekg pads on me from over 2 hours ago. Took blood and left me to sit. All the while will not let my husband come in and wait with me because of covid restrictions. But a mom and 2 kids sit here, a husband and wife sit here. But I am made to sit alone. This place sucks and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone

I'm officially done with this hospital.

I'm officially done with this hospital.
1. The ER blatantly ignored a confirmed case of pyelonephritis the first visit and dismissed my pain and dehydration and I had to return a day and a half later.
2. It took them three days to figure out that the reason I wasnt fully popping positive for a uti/renal infection was because of the initial antibiotic treatment on monday. Did they not read any of the notes prior to this?
3. The hospitalists english is terrible and is now telling me that the meds I am on for my anxiety and depression are not nessecary and are making my Eds symptoms worse... ( excuse me, what? They have nothing to do with one another )
4. The patient I had initially been stuck with has had violent outbursts in the past. WHY WAS I PUT WITH THIS PATIENT WITH THEM KNOWING SHE HAD DONE THIS?!. She apparently stabbed her husband. When I called them out about this I was told that she was old and I needed to understand that people's minds go and they "lose it" as they age. She needs to be in a psych ward. Not stuck with other sick patients.
5. Patient advocates take the complaints and make you feel stupid for making them and consistently stand up for their doctors and nurses even when they are blatantly wrong.
6. It took them an hour and a half to bring me an ice pack and heating pad for my knee and side respectively. They couldn't even pop the heating pad for me so it would activate.
7. One of the nurses were anti iv med and would push me to take medication I was vomiting up. I had to complain to another nurse. She spent the rest of her shift taking her dear sweet time getting me the med out of spite.
8. I get home and check my CT results. They failed to tell me that they found Heart Disease. I would think that that is VERY important.

At this point I will only come here for orthopedics and physical therapy.

I strongly recommend you not go to this emergency ...

I strongly recommend you not go to this emergency room. You can expect long waits, rude nurses and doctors that either do not know what they are doing or do not care. There are issues with every visit.

Visited for severe flank pain, nausea and vomiting. Was made to sit in ER for two hours then brought back to a bed to wait another hour for any testing or treatment. After eight hours patient was diagnosed with kidney stones one of which was occluding a ureter causing urine to back up into the kidney,

Visited ER for erratic and high pulse and blood pressure (150 200/100.} Worked up and discharged with diagnosis of palpitations and syncope. The claimed all testing was normal yet not true. Four days after discharge we read the EKG results on Patient Portal and they were not good. Six weeks out patient is still going thru testing related to cardiac issues.

Again visited for high pulse 166 BPM. Claimed it was dehydration. Doctor spent less then five minutes talking to the patient. Only exam was to listen to heart. Discharged with a diagnosis of tachycardia related to dehydration. Never saw the doctor to go over testing or concerns prior to discharge.

Patient has a serious neurological diagnosis that the doctors and nurses knew nothing about. This illness and medications patient is on can contribute to these conditions. They do not care !!

We have decided never again to waste our time going to this emergency room. We will travel to Boston (take our chances on the ride) or go to DHMC. I have ZERO confidence in the doctors or nurses at this emergency room. They do not deserve any stars but I had no choice so I gave them one.

Never in my life have I had a more horrible experience with a doctors office!! Ever!!
-Poor customer service
-Lack of communication (in-house and with patients)
-Issues not handled in a timely manor
I could continue but finally after over a month long ordeal patient relations finally stepped in and corrected the issue. Hopefully this will help current and future patients.
No more Cheshire/Dartmouth-Hitchcock for me though!

My daughter had stomach bug and we went to emergency room .They gave her Tylenol and could not drop the fever still her fever was 102.3 ..they send her home. She had worst fever ever for 2 days after ER and we called her Pediatric doctor from Cheshire Medical we were just switch her doctor to Keene from Monadnock community hospital ..because we are from Keene. Any way we called her doctor office her fever 105.2 with the Tylenol even. She gave us next day appointment.. she would not see her before. I called her old doctor who wasn't her doctor anymore. She said immediately get her here. And We just fund out she had infection and needs to have antibiotic as soon as possible ...So I change my mind I'm driving to Peterborough to see her Doctor there. I don't mind to drive 45 minutes after that. Because they treat us as a human in The Monadnock Community Hospital ...

Been here for 2 hours with my 78 yr old mother who is in severe pain with a knee injury and all these other people who came in after us have all been called back to be seen. I was told that basically its not 1st come 1st serve they go by who is acute and who isnt, which I completely understand, but a couple of them were not that bad and in the same boat as my mom and they got called back. Keep in mind she has high blood pressure too. Yes, mom is not as important as the young lovebirds (major pda), that already went back to be seen. Terrible place, next time going south.

ER psychiatric nurses and security completely rude laughing at you in the other room could hear one of the nurses not much older than me laughing to her friend about me on a video call. The ER staff is the worst felt like I was around a bunch of high school bullies.

Dartmouth Hitchcock is a top rated US facility. The entire staff, admin, assistants, nurses and doctors are all friendly, professional, well-educated and thorough. I've had procedures administered in some of the best hospitals in the US, and DH is at the top of the list with all of them. The care has been great enough so that It's never been necessary to look elsewhere. Bottom line: I'm comfortable with the knowledge that whatever ailment, DH will be able to diagnose and care for the problem as well if not better than any other US facility.

I am absolutely frustrated. I had to take time off of work to bring my son to a medical appointment. Now before you go thinking this sounds like I am a bad parent...what is wrong with the situation here? I leave work at 1:30...for a 3pm appointment....at 4:05....there is no doctor or nurse in sight. When mentioned to the receptionist, she claims that she is confused and she wants me to wait so she can find out what happened....an hour and 5 minutes after the fact is a little late for that....I can't even give this one star!! And my poor son is having significant issues so I wanted to follow up with the person who knew his history best..rather than having to start over...now it looks like I will not have a choice...If a doctor is running late....you're on my time and I pay your bills....it would be courteous and polite to tell me there is a delay and give me the option to reschedule...not make he and I wait for an hour and 5 minutes and play dumb and confused...and decide you want to fix the situation because I called you out on it.....one star is an overstatement for a department that is known for overbooking their doctors to try and keep the patients happy....I'll be looking elsewhere. I can't afford to have my time wasted.

HORRIBLE service. HORRIBLE staff treatment. My whole family and i have been using this hospital and completed wasted all the money spent. My sisters currently on her way to another hospital with major issues because of keene saying nothing was wrong with her. I do NOT whatsoever recommend this hospital . You will end up waiting 3 hours to even get checked, and when you do they tell you you re fine.

Do not see Dr. Wilson in the ENT department. He screwed up a simple surgery of fixing a deviated septum. The deviated septum was in the left nostril and he pushed something over too far and now I can't breathe out of my right nostril. His physician assistant noticed this. I then brought it up to him and he said he didn't see anything wrong. I tried to see the other doctor in the ENT department but they wouldn't let me because I had seen Dr. Wilson. It's a nice little scam they've got going on so when one doctor screws up your blacklisted from seeing the other ENT doctor. Do not go to this hospital. Travel if you have to. They are lucky I'm too poor to sue them.

Before seeing a doctor in allergy/immunology my husband called the clinic for an estimated charge as cost was a factor in his decision to seek care and we do not have traditional insurance. After several calls, he finally was told via phone that the charges would be $300 to $700 depending on what was done. We were astonished to receive a bill for over $1,300 several months after receiving the services. Upon disputing the charge in person, we were told we would receive a call back. We did not. After repeated un-returned calls, we finally spoke to someone in billing were told we had no recourse because we could not provide documentation of the call. We also sent a letter to the CFO to request assistance with our dispute. We received no response to the letter nor to follow up calls and e-mails to the billing department. We are astonished by the lack of responsiveness and will seek care elsewhere going forward. We normally receive care at Monadnock Community Hospital and have never experienced such frustration.

Nothing but excellent care so far. The self educated patient usually gets better than normal I think, at least in my case that's my perception. So learn all you can about your condition, the medical terms, causes, prognosis, procedures, etc., before going in. It's served me well and often results in better communication between oneself and your provider. 4 stars because no one's perfect and things will go wrong one day I'm sure .

The billing department is by far the worst I have ever encountered. They have "lost" an insurance reimbursement, miscoded services and balance billed me even though I am on Medicare (which is hard to do since the EOB specifically states I am not financially responsible due to my Medicare status). It is impossible to resolve a billing issue quickly as well. I am used to calling a billing dept and resolving it over the phone efficiently - but now simple issues must be put in writing. There really is no excuse for this - and to put it in perspective, I have had less than 5 bills so far and I am healthy! I can't imagine how a hospital stay is billed - it would take forever to straighten it out.

I'd give no stars if I could. Personal and private situation I can go into detail with but we nurses are mean and rude, doctors are a joke. 3 days in the hallway of the er and no help and just sent my daughter home....you want to waste your time go to keene. What a joke.

Had a very unpleasant stay here with LESS than adequate care. Needless to say, my brother came into the ER after having a motocross accident. He suffered a partial collapsed lung and 5 fractured ribs (undetected by the nurses and doctors even though XRays were done and the pain was complained about) . After being sent home we were less than happy with the care he received so we went to a different ER only to find he has 5 broken ribs. How do you miss this?! Do yourself a favor and DONT GO HERE!!!

Would give this hospital a 0/5 if I could. There are some good specialists here, but as for the Emergency department it sucks. Waited 2.5hours to even be looked at, the nurses were rude and talked back to me, and the physicians seemed to ignore potential life threatening symptoms on more than one occasion (I ve been here in the ER a couple times for a variety of reasons). Terrible hospital and care they provide, only to predatory price you. If you re able to go to a different hospital, I d definitely try to avoid CMC. Terrible terrible terrible all around.

No choice of doctors. Called to inquire about innoculations for travel and put on hold for 15 minutes. Was told that I would have to go to Peterborough. When I asked for the location of the facility no one knew. This place is awful.

Limping badly and hurting alll over my lower body,...

Limping badly and hurting alll over my lower body, I told my regular doctor that I thought I have lyme disease. She knows I live in a rural area and have 3 dogs. She refused medication and even REFUSED TO TEST for lyme. Instead, I was sent out of her office with an appointment for an expensive Xray of ONE! hip. I ignored the Xray distraction, got a course of doxycycline through methods no proper health care professionals should make necessary, could walk correctly and without pain at the end of Day1, and was cured at the end of 9 days.

I have since met other Keene residents with the same story of rejection of testing and treatment for the Lyme disease they had. I have also presented with severe symptoms from other infections - one of which [soon after first arriving in this area] I knew the cause and the treatment - and was told nothing was wrong and was refused treatment. In that first instance, I was forced to acquire the medication on my own that my prior out-of-region doctor had told them was needed. The totally debilitating illness - after many months of agony - was fixed after 10 days of antibiotics.

This was a preview of my Lyme-disease experience and of my current situation. This total indifference has been brought to the attention of hospital administration twice to no avail. One administrator was actually quite explicit about institutional indifference. Now, I am forced to undertake 3 days of travel and much added expense to get the kind of responsible health care that used to exist in ven small towns in America.

It is shameful that Keene's healthcare is dependent on one irresponsible and bureaucratic provider.

The response in the Emergency Department is horrendous. My wife went there with a severe migraine and waited for four hours in the waiting room. When she was finally admitted to a room, the nurse was not pleasant and nobody took her vitals. After an hour and a half in the room, and only setting the nurse, we left and drove the thirty minutes to go to Brattleboro Memorial. Twenty minutes after arriving, she had been seen by two nurses and a doctor. Her blood pressure was extremely high due to the pain. The fact that nobody at Cheshire even checked it? She could have had a stroke!! We have called patient relations, and they don t even seem to care.

Horrible! I called to request a medication I need for a sinus infection, and the nurse laughed at me. I couldn t believe it. She kept saying I need a covid test. I don t have symptoms of covid. This place makes you feel dumb. Not everyone has covid! And hire nicer nurses. Yours is what you call dumb.

The clinic used to have 2 registration areas. Been down to 1 for a few years and it's horribly backed when trying to sign in. Staff is there but volume of patients is overwhelming with the 1 registration area, good luck getting to appointment on time if you cut it close.

Currently brought my 5 month old son to pediatric just a couple days ago for follow up and a few shots. Was not pleased at all! We ve been kinda iffy with the doctor and her advice and so forth but me and my wife had desided not to give him a flu shot, for our reaosns, and the nurse threatens us with the fact she could get us for child endangerment. Absolutely sent me to the roof!! Very unprofessional I my eyes. We er no longer bringing our 5 month old or his older brother back to the Keene hospital.

Mixed experience. My son broke his thumb and the orthopedic care was fine. He's going to be home on vacation next week and will be going to an orthopedic doctor at home, who he has seen before. We needed the x-rays and medical records for that visit, which is in 4 days. I offered to stop in and pick them up. The woman in radiology was really excellent, she was very helpful and had a CD burned and ready for pick up within two hours. The woman in the medical records department was terrible and should not be employed in any role where she has to deal with the public. She said I could not have the records for 3 weeks because they were backed up and she only had "one girl to take care of all the requests." When I explained that the appointment was in 4 days she said I should have called 3 weeks ago.....my son had not yet broken his thumb 3 weeks ago!! She said if the doctor he's going to be seeing would fax her a request she could get the records to the doctor in 24-48 hours (that's what we did). BUT I AM THE CUSTOMER, I AM PAYING THE BILLS, WHY DOES THE DOCTOR GET THE RECORDS IN EXPEDITED FASHION AND I CAN'T???? Her wonderful comment to explain the situation was "Do you have any idea how many people want their medical records?" Are you kidding me? That's not an excuse for rudeness, for lack of responsiveness to the customer, or for anything at all. If demand is high, figure out how to meet it. If you are behind, put in some extra time and effort and get caught up. It's called planning, administration and hard work. When I asked why the doctor could get the records in 24-48 hours and I couldn't her response was: "Because he's the provider." Apparently if a physician calls, she responds. Anyone else, she's rude and unyielding.

This is BY FAR the worst hospital I have ever worked with. Every time I schedule an appointment, there is an issue that ends up in me needing to schedule with an outside medical facility and lots of tears of frustration. I would HIGHLY recommend driving to quite literally another other medical facility rather than this one.

[Edited] Every time I deal with this place I can feel my life get shorter. It's hard as a patient to navigate the insurance system - and I realize that it is hard on the staff at CMC, too. But it would be nice to feel as if they are on our side and advocating for us, the patients. Like we're in this together. Instead they respond with the same frustration as we do, only they are directing it towards us. I've been made to feel like a bothersome pest when all I'm trying to do is get myself care and treatment.

This hospital is absolutely terrible. Every person I've spoken to on the phone has been rude and not even remotely helpful. It should not be that hard to get the medical treatment you require. I can't even believe this place is still in operation.

I am a retired physician having practiced in Keene as a solo practitioner outside the big box clinic and hospital. The reason these places survive is because the overwhelming majority of patients cannot tell when they are receiving poor quality care and those that do are too lazy to drive to Boston to get competent care.

I am incredibly displeased with the recent care that a family member of mine has received from this hospital. It is outrageous to assume that it is acceptable to send a patient home in more pain than he came to you in. Especially when your surgeon could not complete the task at hand, so instead settled for a treatment that the patient stated he did not want. After being sent home on the original surgery date because the machine needed was " lost " due to hospital incompetency, I would think that the hospital would do their best to treat the patient with care and make sure that everything you've placed inside of his body is working correctly, but instead he was sent home, and when he returned back the same day ( only HOURS later ) due to immense pain and bleeding he was turned away with what? Another script in his hand. It is sad that this hospitals idea of fixing a patients is to put pills in their hand. So thank you Dartmouth for not only being detrimental to my uncle's health and putting him in a position where he cannot work or even be comfortable, but also bleeding him dry of the little bit of money he had for scripts that arent helping because of the problem you created so that he now has no way to pay his rent or provide for his children. Do not recommend this hospital to ANYONE.

During the past ten years, I have suffered through two serious accidents, once when I was hit with a flying sheet of plywood and knocked off of a ladder 16 ft. above the ground and once when a car turned into my motorcycle and I flew 30 ft. through the air before landing in the road. The complications from these accidents resulted in several surgeries and many doctor and therapy appointments. Over the years I have been treated by multiple doctors, physicians assistants, nurses and therapists. I have nothing but praise for the people and infrastructure known as the Cheshire Medical Center. They have continually gone beyond what I expected for care and service. Thank you to all the people who have helped me over the years. To those who's lives are less than rewarding in every aspect, I would like to add that positive thinking backed up with gratitude will get the best results in any life experience. Since we are products of our thinking, why would anyone want to bring about their own bad luck through negativity? Bad mouthing anyone is never the way to find good service with positive results.
Update 10/2019: Last year I was diagnosed with prostate cancer which is the number two cancer killer of men. The doctors I saw were all helpful and I decided on surgery. A young doctor used a robot called Davinci to completely remove the cancer while leaving nerves and blood vessels that I would need for other bodily functions intact. My quality of life was preserved along with my very life itself. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Everyone from the multitude of nurses, doctors, and everyone else that I encountered during the past year and a half have helped and uplifted me. For this as well, I will be eternally grateful.

I'm surprised that the CMC has gotten so many poor reviews; my family has received excellent care. I was particularly impressed with the medical attention I received before, during, and after a major surgery a number of years ago. The departments of endocrynology and GYN are very good in my opinion! I've also have terrific experiences with pediatrics.

Can't say I was impressed. First issue was a lack of effort or follow up on a needed referral for my son. Second issue happened after we moved to CT for my job. In the hustle of moving, finding a place to live, etc , we lapsed on getting my sons prescription refilled, luckily, our pharmacist gave us a 2 week refill to buy us time. My son is on Medicaid due to being special needs, so that adds a wrinkle as I m finding out. Our local pharma couldn t refill his prescrip since it was issued by a NH doctor and he s on CT Medicaid. We requested a records transfer, but it wasn t happening very fast, so the local nurse called to verify the prescription details so that the new local PCP could issue a prescription until she could see my son, his first appointment is not until late January (about the best we could find with docs taking new patients with Medicaid) The nurses at our old PCP at Cheshire were very rude, and lectured us about taking too long (never mind I had to apply for CT Medicaid, get approved, and then find a doc who was accepting new patients who also accepted Medicaid!), and was VERY judgemental. Kept interrupting our new PCP s nurse, who was extremely patient and professional! So glad I m done with Cheshire Medical Center! Also, went to the ER once because my son, who has a history of seizures was feeling dizzy, so thinking it might be the onset of a seizure we went to the ER. They didn t do anything like an EEG, rather hooked him up to an EKG! Not a doctor, but his previous doctors at Colorado Childrens hospital typically used EEG s to look at brain function. Rather odd.

It is hard to believe that this hospital still holds its reputation as it did 4 and 5 years ago. Really? Yes. The staff is considerably rude to patients and caretakers. Is this necessary? I think not.

Please hire nurses that have a bed side manner. It would also help if the nurses and doctors took courses in caring for patients with kindness and compassion..

If I could have left less than 1 star, I would have. Refusing care is a no no. Shame on you Dartmouth.

I went to an urgent care center because I was concerned I had a blood clot in my leg. They sent me to the ER to get an ultrasound. I got to the ER at 7pm and wasn't seen by a doctor until midnight even though I told them I thought I had a blood clot and was in a lot of pain. There was only one other person in the waiting room and no one could give me any answers as to why it was taking so long. Once I was taken into a room I was informed that because it had taken so long, they weren't doing ultrasounds anymore and I had to come back tomorrow. If you have a serious emergency take it somewhere else

Dr. Gendron performed a labrum puncture on me and completely botched the procedure. She tore my spinal column and damaged nerves (which are still in pain to this day, over one year after the procedure). After I called and told her I couldn't leave my bed without the worse pain imaginable, she denied that she did anything wrong and basically told me to deal with it. I later decided to go to Cheshire medical's pain clinic, where a male doctor shoved something up my nose (after telling me I wouldn't feel a thing, MORE LIES) and caused me to throw up all night. Cheshire medical literally almost killed me and I am still recovering to this day. DO NOT GO HERE unless you want to die/and or be left in the worst pain you could imagine for a few months after your visit. Please suspend Dr. Gendron's license to practice before she hurts more innocent people.

Recent hospitalization of my elderly dad was an excellent experience. All nurses were fantastic - Especially Heather K. - couldn t ask for a sweeter, more competent, compassionate nurse. Wonderful care by Dr. Arvind Randhawa and Dr. Valerie Gendron over the last few years. Very thankful for both.

Grouchy doctors, terrible employees, such small mindedness galore.

Is it really that easy to get a medical job? Just attend college for a few years and then just *boom* you get hired and become a medical professional?
Honestly I felt like I was getting medical treatment from a Walmart employee. That's how narrow minded and inconvenient they were. It's terrible.

And all they did was ask me the same questions over and over again. Pathetic. It's like that episode of Fresh Prince where the 2 guys break into some fat guy's house but they get caught escape to the roof and some social worker who thinks they are suicidal jumpers comes over and whips out a script and starts reading it to them. That social worker probably works for Cheshire medical center.

My PC is awful. Doesn t respond to my medical needs. I requested a new PC and they denied my request stating there was a shortage of doctors, which makes no sense. On the upside I have three specialty doctors and they are good, caring people.

I had foot surgery done in April. I decided to travel an hour and a half to have it done in Keene. Dr. Heidi Newkirk is amazing. The surgical staff was also very efficient and kind. I would highly recommend Dr Newkirk!!

The ER and main hospital have all provided excellent care for my mother-in-law each and every time she has come to this warm and friendly hospital. Thank you to all the nurses and doctors, specialists, as well as the kitchen, cleaning staff, registration, billing and everyone behind the scenes that makes this place run so smoothly and with such care.
