Can't say I was impressed. First issue was a lack of effort or follow up on a needed referral for my son. Second issue happened after we moved to CT for my job. In the hustle of moving, finding a place to live, etc , we lapsed on getting my sons prescription refilled, luckily, our pharmacist gave us a 2 week refill to buy us time. My son is on Medicaid due to being special needs, so that adds a wrinkle as I m finding out. Our local pharma couldn t refill his prescrip since it was issued by a NH doctor and he s on CT Medicaid. We requested a records transfer, but it wasn t happening very fast, so the local nurse called to verify the prescription details so that the new local PCP could issue a prescription until she could see my son, his first appointment is not until late January (about the best we could find with docs taking new patients with Medicaid) The nurses at our old PCP at Cheshire were very rude, and lectured us about taking too long (never mind I had to apply for CT Medicaid, get approved, and then find a doc who was accepting new patients who also accepted Medicaid!), and was VERY judgemental. Kept interrupting our new PCP s nurse, who was extremely patient and professional! So glad I m done with Cheshire Medical Center! Also, went to the ER once because my son, who has a history of seizures was feeling dizzy, so thinking it might be the onset of a seizure we went to the ER. They didn t do anything like an EEG, rather hooked him up to an EKG! Not a doctor, but his previous doctors at Colorado Childrens hospital typically used EEG s to look at brain function. Rather odd.
