If your looking for authentic Caribbean food this is not the place for you. The dishes are prepared and presented well but the food does not have the flavor that most people from the Caribbean are a costumed to. His style doesn't cater to West Indian people. He gives you a good portion but its severely overpriced. The staff is very nice and the atmosphere although a bit cramped isn't too bad. On a more personal level I will no longer spend my money at his establishment. My Caribbean group and I attempted to have a function there, like we have had on many occasions spending lots of money, but due to management trying get over, the event was canceled and someones birthday party was ruined all for the sake of money.

Over priced. Rude service. They only worried about the money. Good customer will sell anything, but they don't know that. The food didn't taste Caribbean at all. I love oxtails peas n rice the Caribbean way. They don't sell beef or jerk patties so my assumption was that they weren't a real Caribbean restaurant. Jerk Hut is the best I've had so far.

Had a great time at this lounge while visiting Sandy Springs, GA. The jerked wings were great. The place grew quite festive as the hours grew long and that's because the DJ was on point! He played a nice mix of just about every genre of music out there and the people loved it! I will definitely revisit next time I'm in town.

Tonight was one of the most efficient nights I have had here of all. The staff constantly checked on me to see if I needed anything and the food is always amazing. The music next door is on point and the restaurant is always very clean and the presentation on the plates are great.

Best Caribbean food in Sandy Springs, GA. My all time go to is the Curry Goat, with rice and peas. Also, the best tastiest Beef Pattie Pockets I've ever eaten in my life. Whether you've never had Caribbean food before, or you just love Caribbean food, please go to or start here at Chef Rob's and tell them Sean Denson, @seanismyatlantarealtor, sent you. #SouthernHospitalityMetroAtlantaStyle #SandySpringsLiving

I must say as a fellow West Indian Brooklyn girl where Chef Rob is from I was very dissappointed with the service. I had very high hopes for this place as I had been there in the past and loved the food and the recentyl added on lounge. I liked it so much I decided to have my birthday there which was a party of 35 people. I was told the private room could hold up to 35 however, was shocked when I arrived to see it was not even a private room and it I could hardly comfortably hold 20 let alone 35. In addition, other guests who were not with my party had to walk through and in between my party to go to the bathroom not mention the Hooka station which was not being used was in the way as well. They made no plans for my party of 35 they did not move any tables or have enough chairs.I called for this reservation 2 weeks in advance yet when I and my guests arrived they were not prepared. I had to request 2 more waitresses so my guests could stop complaining about the wait. In addition, their staff is unexperienced and slow. They are not able to think on their feet or handle large parties. After all this, the manager nor the owner himself even came over to say hello or apologize for the HORRIBLE service. I had to request his presence. This entire experience left a bad taste in my mouth. After 50 minutes I had 2 people from party actually leave without getting their food. I had planned for my party to transition over to the lounge once dinner was over however, it took this slow unexperience waitress 45 minutes just to get the checks. She acually brought the checks one at a time! When we finally transitioned into the lounge the music was horrible. They tried to compensate with a free bottle of wine and a free section but it did not matter people were annoyed as was I. There was no saving it. I would never hold a party here or recommend this place to anyone even though the food is good. They have put NO effort into customer service at all and do not seem to care as this was back Labor Day weekend of 2013 and it is now OCT and I just had a friend placea catering order of $1,000.00 and he is furious with their service. He also said he went for lunch just 2 people and the service was still HORRIBLE! STAY AWAY!!

We went to Chef Rob's during our trip to Atlanta and I was blown away by the food. I had the blackened mango chicken and it was to die for. The flavors were so unique. Whenever I go back to Atlanta, I'm making the trip to Chef Rob's for some of that awesomeness.

Writing my review solely based off this one dish and service I received yesterday. The oxtails were amazing! I went in for their lunch special because a friend had recommended and I left super happy.

The restaurant was a little too cold for me so we opted to sit outside. The weather was nice so why not? The server was quick to seat us and take our orders. Usually when sitting outside service is harder to receive but they always checked on us!

Food came out quickly and my oxtail was super tender. The flavor profiles were wonderful and for my first Caribbean food experience, I can honestly say I'm a fan. I always think mac and cheese at a restaurant are a hit or a miss and Chef Rob did a great job in making sure his mac and cheese was delicious! He also stopped brought the food out to our tables himself and made sure we were satisfied with our food. I'll definitely be back!

I tried Chef Rob s via Uber Eats. I ordered the seafood pasta and it was DELICIOUS! It was still steaming hot when it arrived; I added lobster. It was seasoned well & had plenty of seafood! The portion size was large as well, so it will double as lunch the next day! I recommend the seafood pasta any day.

Great food, great taste. horrible service, I was double charged for my $36 tab it showed up as $72 on my bank statement. i called the restaurant multiple times and they gave me a hard time. i reported the waitress and they said they processed it my report and it was up to my bank to give me my money i called my bank and they said i had to re submit my report with the restaurant. I would not have minded paying $72 if thats what my tab, i am not cheap. = the fact that they gave me such a hard time was very frustrating. If you're going to eat Chef Rob's great cooking i suggest you order take out, don't tip, check your food and check your tab. Great food, hope they have new employees. by now.

What's not to love at Chef Robs? I have experienced the lounge and the cafe. Both have a very friendly, warm inviting atmosphere. The lounge is the perfect place to bring girlfriends for drinks and conversation. The cafe is great for sharing a cup of coffee with a loved one. The food is exceptional, like no other Carribbean restaurant that you have ever visited. I enjoy the beef patties, the ox tails, the flavored coffees and desserts. Don't limit yourselves to these though. Everything is great!

First and foremost, the food is delicious. A restaurant needs more than good food to be successful, however. Customer service is paramount. On two occasions, we placed phone orders "to go" and our orders were incorrect, causing me to wait at least 20 minutes in what should have been a quick pick up transaction. That's an issue but frankly not my complaint. Anyone can make a mistake with an order. It so happens that it happened with us twice. My complaint is with the curt, nasty attitude of the employee. Granted, I gently expressed my disdain about the "to go" service, and her attitude went south. She never expressed regret for the poor service; never said thank you; and her demeanor was disastrous. So I asked for a manager. I explained to the manager basically what I expressed above, and she gave me a $5.00 off coupon for our next visit. While I guess that was a good gesture, I wasn't looking for that but rather some satisfaction that the employee issue would be addressed. I can't read minds, or know exactly the steps management may take to train the employee on basic customer service skills, but my "feeling" was no corrective action would be taken. I hope I'm wrong.

I'm writing this not to discourage patrons from enjoying this restaurant. Rather, I hope the owner(s) will read this review and develop and execute an improvement plan to ensure their business's long-term success. I will return with high hopes of better customer service.

I really really wanted to give this place 4 stars but couldn't because of the slow service and somewhat expensive prices. It took almost 20 minutes to get my meal and this was at lunchtime. Not that it was all the waitress's fault -- she was the only one there and there were a number of full tables there. I ordered the Bob Marley plate with jerk chicken and had a couple of Red Stripes with it. It was unusual but very very good. I'd definitely order it again. If this is the jerk sauce they normally put on their chicken, then they got the jerk chicken thing right! Very spicy but not too much. I'll be back for more. Just pass on the Red Stripes... they were $5 each. That's too high for Red Stripes.

Food is decent, but the woman at the pick up window is rude and unprofessional for no reason. I ve only been twice, and both times, she acted like she was mad and inconvenienced that I was there to pick up my order. I m sorry you have to do your job. The lack of hospitality will keep me from coming back.

This was a great surprise to have everything that we wanted and requested at our service by a very friendly and accommodating server. We planned a surprise get together lunch for my husband and everything was set up when we got there. The food was delicious, tasty and unique. I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu. We ordered the grouper strips, delicious with the vegetables and sauce or without, mac n cheese, calloolo, veggie patties, ackee and saltfish, veggie roti, dumplings and yams, seafood pasta, fries, ginger beer, sorell and the cocktails were fruity and strong. My sister ordered ribs but said they were salty. We were overall pleased with everything.

My wife and I went here using a Groupon deal. The food was pretty good although expensive considering what we were eating. One thing that really stood out, the patrons were all black. There was a palpable sense of whites (us) being shunned by the clientele. So, for us, the atmosphere sucked! The help was nice enough.

I wasn't expecting to give this place a good revie...

I wasn't expecting to give this place a good review because I'm more of a "hole in the wall" Caribbean food type of chick. You know the place that kinda looks shady, servers speak in patois, and the patties are slamming?! Well, that's the type of place I like. So to say I wasn't expecting much from the Caribbean equivalent to Paschal's Restaurant, is an understatement. However, I must say I was pleasantly surprised.

First, we had a large party of 42 and the service was on point. There was no hassle when it came time for splitting the checks, they honored my Foursquare discount, and the servers were attentive and cordial.

The food, although not very authentic tasting, was pretty good. Well at least my stuffed fish dinner was. My husband's jerk chicken and curry goat dinner wasn't. He liked it; while I thought it was unseasoned, lacked spice, and was on the bland side. However, the stuffed fish was truly delicious, and I'm saddened it was a special item and not on the regular menu.

I was kinda miffed I had to pay an additional $1 for rice & peas to substitute for the jasmine rice that came with my dinner. In all my years I've never seen where rice & peas isn't the only &/or main rice served at a Caribbean restaurant. The accompanying plantains were standard but really good, and my rice & peas could have had more flavor. However, it was nothing too bad that a healthy dose of scotch bonnet pepper sauce couldn't fix.

All in all I can say Chef Rob's gets an A-Ok. Chef Rob's Caribbean Cafe is overpriced in relation to your typical Caribbean restaurant, and I've had better tasting Jamaican food. But, for those of you who aren't acquainted with Caribbean food, or prefer their Caribbean food less spicy and flavorful, you should give this place a try.

This was my first time at this restaurant. The food was EXCELLENT. Our waitress was nice but service was a bit slow. The atmosphere was very casual (which I prefer), very conducive to a girls night so we felt completely free to have a good time. The libations were very good (and colorful). I had the blackened salmon with jasmine rice and collard greens. I cleaned my plate. At the same time, when we ordered dessert, the white chocolate bread pudding (their most popular dessert) was out. :-(

Decor: 2/5 - The restaurant isn't as appealing as the lounge. Extend the decor or just be the lounge.
Food: 4/5 - Overall from appetizers to deserts -details below
Price: 2/5 - Too pricey. They charge for every substitution even swapping something to white rice is a charge.

The food is great if you are not accustomed to authentic Caribbean meals. Many of the dishes are not as properly seasoned as if made for a milder palette. Example the jerk chicken wings were bland underneath the jerk sauce that covered them so if i were to wipe off the sauce you wouldn't taste anything at all. I'm use to the seasoning penetrating into the meat. The jerk sauce did have a nice kick to it. Kudos to Chef Rob for his sauces & gravy. The service was good, I came during a non peak time & everything came out in a reasonable time frame.
So on average Chef Rob's get a 3 out of 5. It's okay but it's nothing to brag to your friends about.

I rarely write reviews but this is my spot! The atmosphere (both cafe and lounge) is perfect and the music is always on point. They have vegetarian and a vegan (Bob Marley Special) options which are ideal for me. When my friends and family come from out of town I bring them here to catch up and have a good time. They loved the food and Chef Rob is mad cool, he always makes sure that me and the people I come with are taken care of...I took my mother and her friends here for her 50th B-Day and they really, really, enjoyed themselves. In terms of total package you can't find a better Caribbean spot in Atlanta in my opinion. I have been going here for years and my experiences have been consistent...and those Long Island Iced Teas (Bruh!), will put you right where you need to be!

I arrived on a Saturday, restaurant not packed, got seated quickly, but had to wait for them to clean a table. I saw this place on IG and the Chef on the local news station a while back so I figured I'd give it a try. I thought it had to be good After Chef G.Garvin showed up with his family right after us. After waiting almost 10 minutes for a menu I had to get up to ask for a server to come take our order. This was after Chef Garvin had to do the same thing. I knew I was in trouble if they didn't know who he was! All the employees were under 30... Young melinials with no senior management lighting a fire under their azzez. So they moved super slow. There was no hustle at all. They definitely need a person over 40 to supervise. I watched the servers take food to the wrong table. Then the food runner brought the wrong food to us. They need to use and train on the numbered table system that every other restaurant in the world uses. The Hostess had to take my order as the waiter or waitress never came over the entire meal. A male food runner took the Chefs order and he had no idea what was going on either. Now to the food. The most authentic thing on the menu was a $5 Sorrel drink. They had the nerve to put Thyme in the Collard greens??? Horrible! Then they had a hard piece of turkey? In the greens too. The cabbage my husband had was flavorless & over cooked, the BBQ shrimp was over sauced & over cooked. The chicken was tough. The COCO bread had no Coco... They had the audacity to use Red Kidney beans instead of the traditional Pigeon peas. I ordered another Sorrel drink that never came... $70 later I was ready to go! I am from Brooklyn so I know and cook great West Indian food.. this was not it. Chef Rob never came out from the back. I guess he had the day off... I didn't mention the Hookah bar next to the restaurant that is also part of this restaurant. They needed to keep that space because they restaurant got packed and cramped by the end of my meal. I went there on a whim... But I won't be going again. My fellow New Yorkers!!! ... Stay away... Cook at home it'll be better!

I will NEVER come back here again. Not only did they get my order wrong, but they purposefully took a long time to correct the order AND took over 30 minutes to bring a side of sauce so that I can add flavor to their bland shrimp. My waitress Tiffani was amazing and is the only reason why they even got one star out of me.

I took my husband here this past Father's Day I had previously eaten from chefs Rob food truck but had never visited the restaurant and was looking forward to doing so as much as I hate to say it because I love to support my fellow Jamaicans I must say that the food was not on point and the portions were extremely small when the girl brought those many plates of food to our table me and my husband just made eye contact and instantly knew what each other was thinking being Jamaican you supposed to know real big man thing those little food can't full nobodys belly and who puts sugar in jerk and in curry sauce I guess you're trying a thing but just stick to the authentic recipes the way they're normally made please don't try to mix it up because you're just screwing up a good thing

Looks like a cool atmosphere but good is pricy just order something for 20$ was the same portion as the 13$ meal. If the want to charge 20$ that's fine but why is it the same portion as the 13$ meal? Something is wrong there may not return unless I go to the lounge side and don't eat. Smh

I had high hopes because of Chef Rob's affiliation. I ordered the jerk chicken egg rolls, the braised oxtails with rice and peas and steamed cabbage along with a creme soda.
I used uber eats for delivery.
On line order was easy, driver Shawn was friendly and here quickly.
The egg rolls were tasty and spicy I would have liked them crispy and put that request in my order notes. They were not.
The oxtails were not good, they were tender but had no flavor, the steamed cabbage was fresh and crunchy and barely chopped for eating and again no flavor at all, the rice and peas were ok and the rice was slightly over cooked. I was disappointed my local Jamaican spot in Charlotte called Anthony's is amazing. The food there is flavorful and true to the Jamaican style of cooking. $36 down the drain I barely ate any of it. Oh and the soda came room temperature not cold.
I really wish I'd read some the reviews first this establishment does not seem to even respond to them. There are some disturbing comments here. Never again for me.
