The Chaminade is an excellent place, offering plenty of space, gorgeous views, excellent service, and good food. Breakfast is a particular treat with omelettes made to order. Additionally there are always a great selection of desserts at lunch.

The bar staff were friendly and efficient, providing an excellent service.

The resort is a short trip away from the town, and so access is easy and quick.

The hotel is very nice and cozy, the rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable. The service from the staff was very good and in general for our work group, the hotel provided exceptional facilities.
I will definitely visit them again.

Great place for large groups to organize multi-day events. Everything was really well maintained, from the conference rooms to the hotel rooms to the pool/spa area. My only complaint is that the food was bland, but that is to be expected when preparing on this large of a scale for people with various tastes. They also did not have good snacks outside the meeting rooms for anyone allergic to nuts.

This place is located on the top of a beautiful hill. Only inconvenience there is very limited parking plus walking a distance with luggage, kids and in the cold gets to be tiring. It's a luxurious, clean, fresh, quiet, relaxing place to spend away from daily life. Very spacious rooms with a strong cell & Wi-Fi signal. Decoration is very basic modern black and white palette. Latest high tech security system for all doors and surveillance.

Came here for a company event . Place is very pleasant and staff is very friendly from valet to front desks guided me in all the right direction to where I needed to be.Staff members Valets Brandon and Jack were phenomenal very kind young men. They were beyond busy and still guided me to the correct room with a smile on there faces. Food was fantastic!

Very scenic and well sited with a unique ride from the upper entrance to the main restaurant. It is built on a steep hill and it is on several levels to say the least. Food is quite good. A good place to go to.

Very well keep, great staff. Steam room not large however it is the best one I've used. Had the ribeye not the largest size, but taste was great and was enough.

The resort was a great experience overall! Although on the surface the resort looks a little aged and dated, the insides are quite modern and clean. The weather was fairly cold, which I heard is a standard experience with visiting Santa Cruz. The beach is quite close by with a lot of different atttactions to take part in (the boardwalk comes to mind), and there are nice short and easy hiking trails within walking distance of the resort.

Nice place. I use the Red and Blue trails, very pretty and pleasant. However, a lot of folks seem to have their dogs off leash, despite the signage. So, if you re sensitive to that, or if you re planning on bringing your leashed pets, just be aware that there will probably be loose dogs here.

Wife and I needed a place to crash on a road trip from Los Angeles to Napa. Chaminade popped up on our radar and we booked.

This place is exceptionally charming. The grounds are beautiful, naturally (being in Santa Cruz), but the forest drive to the entrance still enchants each time.

The staff is as friendly as one could ask for. They directed us to an awesome pizzeria on Pacific for dinner (Pizza My Heart).

This stopover in Santa Cruz itself, as well as Chaminade was random, but we ll be returning specifically to stay here.

An acceptable place for a work retreat. Nothing special about the food or accommodations, but no complaints. Meeting room works, including A/V, and outdoor area conducive to socializing with coworkers after meeting.

My husband and I got married here last July and everything was wonderful. The wedding coordinator Angela was wonderful to work with from beginning to end, clearly very knowledgeable and very patient with every little thing. The venue was beautiful and it was so nice to have an outdoor ceremony and then just walk upstairs for the indoor reception. It was also great to have all the tables, chairs, linens, tableware, etc. taken care of and not have to worry about all the set-up and take-down! The food was delicious and the service was great. There was a even a lovely woman named Shannon who kept checking in with my husband and I to make sure we had food! Overall, we were extremely happy with our choice to get married here.

We booked our engagement party through Chaminade. The events coordinator was extremely helpful, guiding me (never done this before) through the different decisions need to make the evening special. We had our meal out on the upstairs balcony area and the view was spectacular. The food was delicious and plentiful. Lighting was romantic, presentation of the food beautiful, and the wait staff was attentive and friendly. This event completely exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend Chaminade as a hidden treasure as well as an excellent value.

Lunch was OK, but for the prices, I expected more. The flatbreads are all prepared ahead of time. Really makes one wonder how committed these folks are to fine dining. The salmon is Atlantic farmed! I mean really, in Santa Cruz, they are serving farmed salmon rather than wild caught Alaskan. And, why are they not part of Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch and alert to serving only sustainable seafood?
If you are a vegetarian or vegan, you will have very few choices; they seem to put cheese on more than 1/2 of their entrees. And, because so much is premade, you won't be able to ask them to hold the cheese, e.g., on the flatbread.
Our waitress took care of our order but we never saw her again, e.g., like to get a refill of our ice tea, etc., until she presented the bill an hour later.
The view is unique and beautiful, so you may wish to go there for a drink, but don't expect fine dining.

The view is spectacular from the patio. We've gone here several times and the service is great in the restaurant. We have had to send a couple of dishes back to the kitchen because the cook was a little heavy handed with the salt... but they are very gracious about it and we enjoy this brief respite from the hustle and bustle.

I found the Sales Department to be very rude and money hungry. Upon booking a banquet room I was quoted a daily rate and we agreed upon booking. Once they realized I was not paying for my groups meals they wanted nothing to do with me. They did not care about there incompetence only money. Horrible customer service

The pool is a bit small, food needs more varieties, location is remote (but this you already know before going)

Rooms are modern/beach styled and very nice. Everything in the room was nice and clean. Staff has been super friendly and helpful so far throughout our stay. Called the front desk for help with changing our TV's input to HDMI and they sent maintenance to our room right away. Very happy with our stay thus far!

First I want to say that when we arrived and told the man at the desk it was our 10 year anniversary he made us feel like we were the only people at the hotel. I really appreciate that level of service!!! The sad part is that the first night we stayed here we had to call the office about the noise level upstairs.

This relaxing spa getaway is equipped with 2 indoor hottubs, a spa, massage, and fitness center, an outdoor heated pool and hot tub, as well as tennis courts, a sand volleyball court and a lobby that is always bustling with new people, as well as a hiking trail just behind the resort. The staff onhand is incredibly friendly and accommodating. The only things to keep in mind is that no meals are included and the rooms are comfortable, but definitely not made to entice you staying there all day. Minimum cable options, and a mini fridge are the only extra amenities, although I here you can request a microwave.

Room was large. For a town that prides itself on sustainability and conservation, they had no automatic light switches or recycling cans in the rooms. Shower head didn't work correctly. TV remote and coffee maker were both broken the first day of a two day stay. The location and grounds were very pretty.

My family and I stayed at the Chaminade after the hustle and bustle of my graduation from a nearby college. The resort was the perfect place to relax. The restaurants were fabulous, the rooms were large and quiet, but most of all the staff was outstanding. We especially enjoyed hikes in the evening. I have shared the experience with many friends and family and will look forward to another visit.

From booking to check out Chaminade created a simple and wonderful experience.
During this unprecedented time we're in, celebrating a teenager's birthday was something we couldn't do as we normally would. So, we thought coming to this resort and just hanging out would be fun. We swam walked around and in the eucalyptus forest. The front desk brought milk and cookies for the birthday girl with a sweet card.
It was incredible! This resort sits right on top of the mountains the sun just soaks you up, it is a great location!
Oh BTW, we chose the executive suite-- really cool set up. Oh and I brought lysol wipes to disinfect the place (door knobs chairs rails window handles counter tops bathrooms) everywhere i swiped--no dust no dirt. The upkeep on cleaning is superb!
Thanks Lane, and Chaminade. I'll never forget how memorable you made our stay!

Cheers!

We have to give a big thank you shout out to front office manager Jezzel Chavez he came through for us and made our stay a wonderful, mostly stress free, one. Our rooms were comfortable and we thank the resort for the roll away bed. The restaurant's food was delicious and the staff was accomodating and friendly. Our family loved the pool. I would have given the resort 5 stars except for the fact that housekeeping was terrible. They made up one of our rooms the first day but not the second room. They didn't even remove the second room's trash. The second day they didn't make up either rooms and what was worse is that a "do not disturb" sign magically apperared on one of our doors. We never had a d.n.d. sign before that. They took the towls I left by the door but did not leave us any clean towels. My husband believes that housekeeping put the sign on our door so they didn't have to clean our rooms since they never cleaned our second room. It was late when we returned from the boardwalk and all 3 of our room keys didn't work. The front desk kindly came and gave us new keys and let us in our rooms. They also sent up clean towls and coffee. They were great. We would stay there again because the rmajority of our stay was great.

Not worth it! At check-in, front desk was adamant that we should "upgrade" to a "forest view"(read street view), the ambient noise of the air conditioner rattling and what sounded like a generator did not drown out the sounds of every other guest especially the overhead neighbors who sounded like they were stomping on the floor until 1am. Ambient smells were none to enjoyable either. Pool was Motel quality.

Secluded in the beautiful hills of Santa Clara, this is a great place to chill out. Rooms are comfy but maybe not as upscale as you might think for the price. However the great views and surrounding nature makes up for it. Plenty of activity for the kids.. Pool can get crowded. There are tennis courts, bocce ball frisbee golf, and corn hole. For Tesla and ev owners, there are 6 Tesla destination chargers and 1 regular ev charger.

Brunch service is still lacking. Waiters walked by carrying a couple dirty plates and didn't bother to take ours. Management doesn't train the wait staff well. We were also told on the phone it was $30 each. It was $35.

We had Thanksgiving meal there. This was buffet style. We reserved for two people in the afternoon. The place was packed and we had to wait for about 30 minutes. Everything was great and the staff was very friendly. Even the vegetables were done just right. Great selection. We loved the butternut squash soup, the salad bar, and the fish section. We wished they would have refilled some of the dishes more frequently. Some of the spoons and tongs ended up right on top of the food. Quite expensive but we treated us there. Happy Thanksgiving.
