We went for Thanksgiving dinner. I was very impressed with how they had every food item labeled (if it had a gluten and/or dairy ingredient) I was so excited when I saw the gluten and dairy free chocolate dessert. Due to my food sensitivity, I'm used to not having a dessert option, so I'll eat some fruit for dessert. The food was delicious, and they didn't run out of anything, the service was good, the day was beautiful, the view was beautiful. We would do it again.

Went in for Happy Hour in the bar. Grabbed a sofa facing the fireplace and shared a yummy hamburger and fries with my friend. Had a great glass of wine and enjoyed the view and atmosphere.

You know when you are tired of driving on a road trip, decide to stop at the next town and stumble upon something spectacular? This is it. The room was ambient, well-decorated and felt at home. I was pleasantly shocked to venture onto the patio and see a tranquil forest. After spending all day in traffic, this was paradise. The staff was delightful, even in the middle of the night, and the only regret I have is that I didn t spend most of my vacation here; it is a calming escape from reality.

Stayed in a Forest view room (room 707)... gorgeous view, pretty room with comfortable bed, blackout drapes, mini fridge, and sliding doors that open to a patio. Staff was great and check in was a breeze. Perfect temp pool and hot tub. The bar & grill was great with the best battered green beans ever. There's even a shuttle van to haul you back to your building after dinner. My only complaints are: not enough parking near rooms (had to park way out down the drive), no microwave, and no late check-outs allowed (despite night staff saying it would be ok, just had to call in the morning). But despite these minor things, I still give it a 5 star rating and cannot wait to go back. :)

Very impressed with the service at Chaminade Resort & Spa. When we had a situation arise with our reservation, Shane at the front desk and the manager were very accommodating and able to resolve the issue quickly. Pleasantly surprised with their customer service.

Fun, quirky resort nestled in the Santa Cruz mountains. Nice comfortable rooms, nice pool/spa, and good restaurant and bar with gorgeous views of Santa Cruz. Hiking trails starting from the resort through the surrounding forests. Good service and very nice staff. Would definitely stay again.

Not going back for sure. Like a portable work camp i stayed in northern alberta. Smelled bad. Got assigned to second floor without an elevator. Pool looked nothing like the picture. There was a man with his feet in the whirlpool. Regret buying a bathing suit.

Great amenities and cocktails. The steam room is great. Clean locker rooms. Would have liked complimentary shower shoes. Jacuzzi could use an update. Would recommend. Went for 2 hours only.

Beautiful property. Efficient meeting space with good support, everything ran smoothly. Highly recommend the Ropes course with Synergy Learning Systems. Stayed ground floor in building 9; not much sound insulation to the floor above, so could hear footsteps very clearly. Otherwise very peaceful.

The location was nice. Friendly staff. Pool was crowded, small but looked appealing. I didn't utilize the fitness center or the spa. The room was nicely decorated. The robes were good quality-heavy. The room was super noisy, constant sound of running water. I woke up every hour due to the sound. When we arrived at 5pm one of the rooms still had their dirty tray out in the hallway from breakfast. No one picked it up until about 8pm. The bathrooms were clean but small. Sliding "door" to the bathroom didn't close properly (due to design). Small patio outside the room, open to the woods and your neighbors. No dividing walls. Eco friendly space. Charged $37 spa fee on top of room price.

We just left from a short stay in September 2015. We were undecided in this hotel, hotel Paradox, or seascape. I feel we have made the correct decision. The rooms were tasteful with good quality. The beds were very comfortable and clean.
The location is very private and peaceful. We had the pool and hot tub to ourselves mostly and the other visitors were adults and polite.

Hotel staff were excellent.

Parking was very limited when we arrived on saturday due to a wedding but complimentary valet was offered. On sunday there was plenty of parking.

Breakfast food was excellent and worth the cost...if you are on the fence about your decision, go with the Chaminade. You will not go wrong!

Probably won't stay here again. Fold out bed was awful, as if it was a really old mattress, broken down......just horrible. There was a vibration all night for 2 nights from the room below and I one was able to sleep. What we were expecting to receive for the price at a spa and resort........we did NOT receive it.

Good

Beautiful, well-run resort in the Santa Cruz hills. I was part of a wedding party, so I got a first-hand experience of how the staff handled various situations. Angela did a great job coordinating the rehearsal and the wedding. Highly recommended.

Recently met some friends here to celebrate a birthday. Always a pleasure to visit here for cocktails, food and the amazing view of the Monterey Bay and surrounding Santa Cruz area below. Plenty of space to sit inside on a chilly day, or outside on one the patio areas for warmer days and evenings. Great service, friendly and helpful staff.

Strange location. You have to go past the hospital and the cemetery then up a steep hill to get in. Parking can be difficult. Valet service is offered, but often not attended. Food is hit or miss. Trails are poorly maintained and lots of poison oak, ticks, and flies show that this isn't a hiking destination. The restaurant, spa, and hotel are definitely better maintained than the trails. Look out for locals only deals, holiday packages, and couples discounts. The restaurant overlooks a great view that makes up for the weird drive up and the difficult parking. Convenient freeway access to 1 near 17.

I was not impresed, the marketing was very leading. The main reason why I chose this place over the other places I have stayed previously in Santa Cruz, was primarly for the view. I booked a forest view and got the view of the parking lot!. The reservations was a total disaster!. Room 118 made a noise in the bathroom fan. Room 119 made a huge vibration in right outside the bathrooms. The TV'S guide does not work, and you have to press the buttons on the remote in order for it to work. Overall not very relaxing, I wouldn't choose this place again, at least in the paradox if they tell me I get a pool view is what I get.
I when ask if it has a patio the staff said the Junior King Suite with forest view does not have a patio.

Rooms are dated but clean. Grounds are beautiful. Hot tub was out of control when I was there... At least 20 adults getting drunk and using glass bottles... Staff was nowhere to be found. Front desk are snobs

The spa is definitely worth a visit. The hot tub outside overlooking the city of Santa Cruz is lovely. The spa treatments are very good as well.

It is centrally located but still secluded. It has a couple of nice hiking trails.

The look of the room was not worth the rate.
The food menu was mediocre. I expect more from a hotel that calls itself a 4* resort.
