Dr. William Trattler changed my life--and I've never said that about anyone before. He and the staff inspired confidence from my first visit to the office, and I felt safe and well cared for throughout my treatment. I am extremely grateful.
Trattler and Eisner are good...lenses are fine but it was a mistake to buy my glasses there. First the prescription was wrong and I didn't have time to leave them for a week to get correct ones made. I needed my glasses. I swore I would not get anti reflective lenses again but they convinced me. After a year I went in to complain that they were smearing and the coating was wearing off. I was told they only last a year and I should be replacing my glassess annually. $400-600 annually? I'll still go to the opthamologist but not for glasses. The staff are super nice!!
The most ineffective office I have ever been to. Get ready to sit and wait for hours. They have no respect for appointments or that you have other things to do. Find another office because this one will waste HOURS of your life.
I am pleased with my Doctor and the overall experience - HOWEVER the people "selling" the glasses are a different story (!) the person must have been a trainee and i watched her clumsily adjusting my frames which broke in one week at the point of adjustment - the glasses were of cheap construction perhaps, bend them and they are vulnerable - brought them back, they replaced them. BUT I should have listened to my wife (!) and gone to Walmart - Curiously I bought two more pairs of glasses (Prescription sunglasses) at the "W" for 1/4th of the price - conclusion: use their Opthalmoligists, but get the glasses elsewhere. the price differential was amazing. Called this AM for an appt. and gave up after a long wait - I'll just try later, no big deal, but they are NOT the source for the hardware!! G.R.Derman
I saw Dr. Victoria and she is absolutely wonderful. Had a terrible chalazion and with just one treatment it got so much better. She has great bed-side manner, was kind, and her staff was great too. I would definitely recommend to family and friends!
Was seen by Dr Kaiser because it was an emergency,it was a very good experience. He was so professional, caring, explaining everything I was scared I didn't know what was happening to my eyes, but he put me at ease ,he even helped me with my wheelchair when I was leaving. Thank you so much Dr Kaiser.
Terrible administration staff, but the worst is Dr. Gabay, who is an absolute disaster and only thinking in the $$$$. All the work is done by the assistants beforehand and then he comes at the end, asks you if you want an examination ("no, Dr, I came here to get a recipe for blintzes"), reads their notes and tells you "You have cataracts", which you already know, so he can write a diagnosis and get the $ from the insurance. A joke.
The Doctor was so rushed to move on to the next patient, he barely spent 2 minutes with me. I waited 3 hours to see him and left with more questions than I went there with. Also, the staff put numbing drops in my eyes without warning me they would cause drowsiness and I nearly passed out. By the time I saw the doctor I was so exhausted and messed up from the drops that I couldn't even process the drive-by tests he gave me. Modern medicine is such a gross business.
I have been a patient of Dr. Spektor, one of the ophthalmologists in this group for some time. Recently, I had a cataract develop to the point that it needed replacement surgically. I was worried about how I would get through the surgery because you must be awake for the procedure to follow the instructions. However, I was assured that once measurements were taken, that I would be sedated enough that I wouldn't care what was done. At first, I didn't believe it, but I was truly amazed that I remember having the eye measured (simply looking at a light) and after that, I don't remember anything until I was awake in recovery. Amazingly, there was almost no discomfort after the surgery - notice that I didn't use the word "pain" because there was none. There was just a slight feeling of soreness. Everything was exactly as Dr. Spektor told me to expect. I really like the fact that he explains everything relating to your treatment and situation. The staff there is phenomenal; even though there are 30+ doctors in that group, the office moves like clockwork. The staff are very pleasant, professional and very helpful to the patients. The offices are clean and attractive, and there is plenty of waiting area for patients to sit before appointments. Coffee is always available free of charge. Dr. Spektor is a rare kind of doctor nowadays - he spends as much time with his patients as is needed - you never feel that you're being shoved out of the door after 10 minutes. The office is located on the 4th floor of the Baptist Medical Arts Building, West Tower. I highly recommend Dr. Spektor in this office for all of your eye care needs. I don't think you will be disappointed.
Lets star saying that i have one of the best insurance in the market they said after they did the service that my insurance don't cover that service they should let people know how much they have to paid before the service is in the state of Florida law i want my money back im no happy with the service they will steal you money in you face BAD SERVICE NO RECOMENDED
I have been going to the Center for more than 30 years. Dr. Frank Spektor is the best doctor you can see. He's extremely knowledgeable and really cares about his patients. He also has a great sense of humor. My husband and I highly recommend Dr. Spektor.
I recently had a lens exchange procedure in both eyes under the excellent care of Dr. Spektor and his team. While the procedures require a number of visits, the scheduling was done with precision and it was apparent that they respect the time of their patients and get them in and out without delay. I got a great result and no longer need lenses to either read or see. I am now a big fan.
Dr Spektor and staff performed cataract surgery on my aunt Teresa Chea on 5/16/17 left eye and on 6/27/17 right eye, she wanted me to write this review thanking the good doctor and staff for taking so good care of her, they were excellent.
web site read free eye exam went in blinded me with eye drops with out telling me left me to walk to the bus blind, almost hit by a car then they sent me a bill for the exam of 250 dollars which went to collections and they keep reinstating it so it will never get off my credit. Very professional people.Btw Simon did my eye surg when i was a kid my grandma always spoke highly of him so i went back 20 yes later and thats how i was treated. Thanks alot!
SEVERAL VISITS .I can honestly say ,I would refer a friend. my first visit was to treat a eye cyst ,it was surgically removed without complication or scar by Dr Lee.Several yrs later ,I needed an Eye exam,I had not had one in quite some time. Dr Trattler Sr ,saw me and in the process diagnosed a condition that if not treated could have been critical.. After treating and finding out ,it needed to be redone .He referred me to Dr Colon who he felt would be the right person for the job. Am quite satisfied. As always consumer beware, your best defense is to ask questions beforehand and be educated .Its your health
Dr. Prashant Parekh is fantastic so I am very sorry that the poor review has to do with the fact that the billing department is not competent. I paid the full balance that was due on the day of my last appointment because they do not take my insurance. Then WEEKS later I got a call from billing. They said that they forgot to charge me nearly 97 dollars and that it was due. They asked me for my insurance information so they could try and charge them for the 97 dollars they claim to have forgotten to charge me. This is unethical and only a sign of incompetence. If you want a great retina specialist and a disorganized billing office, this is the place for you.
I had Lasik performed (last Tuesday) by Dr. Spektor and his excellent team. I was well prepared going in, and the procedure was painless and quick. Recovery was very fast and very easy! I had some tearing that stung a bit in the first few hours after the numbing drops wore off, but it was very mild and cleared up around 5 hours after the procedure.
In total there were maybe 2 hours or so of mild unpleasantness - I was given some anesthetic drops to use if I felt I needed them, but I never did. Dr. Spektor called to see how I was doing that evening, and I was already seeing better than I ever thought possible! I had the occasional bit of blurriness for the first few days, as well as some light halos. I was fully prepared for these symptoms, and they've steadily cleared up.
I'm generally an anxious guy when it comes to anything medical, but for me every part of this experience was simple, quick, and easy right down to the parking! Dr. Spektor has seen multiple generations of my family, and I would absolutely encourage anyone considering vision correction to set an appointment to see him. He's an exceptional doctor, his staff are superb, and the Center for Excellence in Eye is a wonderful facility. Well deserved 5/5.
The center is a money making factory. First encounter and foremost you must pay your copayment no exceptions. I had an eye infection and in my hurry to leave the house I forgot my wallet. I had to virtually beg to be seen; even though I've been a patient since 2007 and owe the Center ZERO money. Then the second part was being able to have the prescription filled. The ordered eyes drops which my insurance did not cover, twice. I left voice mail messages because the place is so huge no answers the phone. STAY AWAY GO ANYWHERE ELSE.
Called after hours on a Friday because I was seeing floaters with intermittent flashes of light. A good friend in the industry (not a doctor) advised me to be seen by an opthamologist asap because I am diabetic. I left a message on the "emergency" line only to receive a call back by an obviously annoyed woman who asked me two questions: Are you a patient here I responded not sure and she then asked is this really an emergency, cut me off tersely and gave me the number to Bascom Palmer stating they are better suited for me. I had more questions, but she flippantly mumbled something and hung up. I don't necessarily expect Presidential treatment, but a little patience and compassion would have been appreciated. I'm not sure what is happening with my eyes and instead of being reassured and offered care, I was treated as a bother (this center was reccommended to me by other industry professionals) I now have to wait until Monday to be seen somewhere else. I will not recommend my or any of my extended family or vast network have any eye care needs taken care of at this center. Future reference being dismissive lacks humanity. Excellence is in your name. Be that.
Dr. Victoria and her staff are amazing! I had a chalazion in my lower left eyelid removed the other day. She was very delicate and kept me calm during the procedure. She talked to me throughout the procedure and I felt so comfortable. 10/10 would recommend. I look forward to my checkup in a month! Thank you so much! I am very grateful.
I have surgery scheduled for Tuesday and no one has reached out about pre-op instructions. After multiple calls they call back at the end of day. I missed it and when I call back and I m put on hold for 10 minutes and at 5:00pm on the dot they hang up.
Worst office ever. Do not waste your time or money.
Horrible customer experience, Dr. Zuniga is the most unprofessional person I have ever met, made me wait for over an hour just for a simple eye exam. I recommend you find another place. These people don t think that customers have options and they treat you like a number.
My first impression I received upon stepping into the Lobby of the building was so extraordinary that I thought that whoever works or has an office in it must be a highly professional and skilled individual. It didn't take too long for me to be able to appreciate the level of organization and professionalism of Dr, Frank Spektor & Staff. The diagnostic, measuring and operatory equipment been used coupled with the level of professionalism of Dr. Spektor, its technicians, assistants, nurses and support personal blew my mind. The end result was an excellent outcome on my right eye cataract surgery and IOL placement. I couldn't be more pleased with the results and am already programmed for the same procedures for my left eye. This is what I call a top notch practice. Thanks to everyone there.
While cataract surgery has become routine, the patient s participation is still needed for a successful result. Dr, Frank Spektor, and his team, made every step of the process, from first visit, through surgery, and post-op, easy to understand with written instructions and contact phone numbers. At every visit, I was encouraged to call with questions, and, when I did call, I received straightforward answers. I couldn t be happier with my results.
I made an appt about 2 weeks ago for an eye exam. I informed the receptionist at the time of the call that I had insurance with EyeMed and she said "we take it." Great. Two weeks later I show up for my appt and Im advised that I would have to pay $140 for my visit as I am out of network, after I was told I was covered. They never called to confirm my appt and much less call to advise my insurance is not accepted. I called out from work, my wife called out from work to come with me and now they want me to pay $140 on top of that because they gave me wrong information upon making my appointment. If you make an appointment with them triple check your insurace is accepted so they dont hit you with a surpise upon checking in for your appt.
PEOPLE, GO SOMEPLACE ELSE!!! I scheduled an appointment for my daughter and explained that she needed a procedure done so they gave me an appointment to see the ophthalmologist in two weeks. I had to take my daughter out of school early and when we got there we had to WAIT FOR 2+ HOURS to be seen. After an hour we had waited I had asked the receptionist when my daughter was gonna be seen and then is when they told us the doctor was late a little over an hour. So unprofessional! The receptionist asked me if I wanted to reschedule I said no. She also asked the doctor s assistant if my daughter was gonna be seen soon and the answer was negative. The doctor was running late! I went and asked for my money back, that was not possible because now takes several days! The receptionist talked to the doctor s assistant and she called my daughter after 5 minutes. As usual, we had to answer several questions and then go again to the waiting room. ANOTHER HOUR AND A HALF! RIDICULOUS! Finally, the doctor called her and then, we had to wait for another 5 minutes, then the doctor got out of the room twice after being rudely interrupted by another assistant. Either WAY TOO MUCH or WE RE IN MIAMI. IF YOU CAN AVOID THIS PLACE, DO IT. Unless you have plenty of time to waste.
The Center For Excellence in Eye Care is a great place to have any eye situation taken care of all in one convenient place. From a routine eye exam (glasses, contacts) to more complex cases( glaucoma, retina issues, etc) this place can meet all of your ophthalmological needs. Yes be prepared to wait. I don't understand when people review any place that you'll be getting excellence medical care and complain about the wait time! Yes it stinks I agree but maybe there's a reason for that? Try going to Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and not waiting. Both high quality, respected ophthalmological centers. The staff is and has always been very professional. My only issue with the Center for Excellence is that they should divide the check in & out line. However, it does move quickly.
Awful. The prescription I got was worse than what I had. The prices are 2-3 times what you would pay elsewhere and the service is mass production. After having two pairs of glasses made that were unusable and having to go to a competent optometrist for a good prescription (at half the price with better equipment and no dilation) they still insist on billing for the service or lack thereof.
