I have been a patient of Dr. Spektor, one of the ophthalmologists in this group for some time. Recently, I had a cataract develop to the point that it needed replacement surgically.
I was worried about how I would get through the surgery because you must be awake for the procedure to follow the instructions. However, I was assured that once measurements were taken, that I would be sedated enough that I wouldn't care what was done.
At first, I didn't believe it, but I was truly amazed that I remember having the eye measured (simply looking at a light) and after that, I don't remember anything until I was awake in recovery.
Amazingly, there was almost no discomfort after the surgery - notice that I didn't use the word "pain" because there was none. There was just a slight feeling of soreness.
Everything was exactly as Dr. Spektor told me to expect. I really like the fact that he explains everything relating to your treatment and situation.
The staff there is phenomenal; even though there are 30+ doctors in that group, the office moves like clockwork. The staff are very pleasant, professional and very helpful to the patients.
The offices are clean and attractive, and there is plenty of waiting area for patients to sit before appointments. Coffee is always available free of charge. Dr. Spektor is a rare kind of doctor nowadays - he spends as much time with his patients as is needed - you never feel that you're being shoved out of the door after 10 minutes.
The office is located on the 4th floor of the Baptist Medical Arts Building, West Tower. I highly recommend Dr. Spektor in this office for all of your eye care needs. I don't think you will be disappointed.
