CASTEL MONASTERO RESORT & SPA 5*L Review

We put in our reservation that we were a honeymoon couple and booked a room with a double bed - they put us in a room with two twin beds and we woke up with backache because there was a gap between the beds. The next day we complained and requested a change of room - they informed that it would be impossible to change (we checked in booking. With and there were 13 free rooms still) and that they would solve the bed problem - they put a cover on the bed to fill the gap between the two beds but the cover was smaller than the bed and was a "step" on either side of the bed. The room was nowhere near the pictures on the hotel website and booking. The room was dark, there were very few windows compared to the pictures and they were much smaller. Also in the description of the room we chose it said that the shower was separate from the bathtub, and it was next to the bathtub. Even having a very expensive daily charge for eggs for breakfast. The outdoor spa area was poorly maintained and the garden was decaying. It is far from a 5 star hotel.

Not recommended at all !!! The hotel is beautiful but the price is very high
without justification.
Only the breakfast is good but nothing else is included in the overpriced price, for example, the spa costs extra money.

What a beautiful resort with everything you could want the views are extraordinary and the service can not be faulted, the parking can get a little squished but that is normal for Italy. The hills are absolutely beautiful and the architecture is amazing surrounded by vineyards a great place to relax

4 stars due to the splendid location immersed in a magnificent landscape. Young staff, friendly but still having to gain experience to get the 5 'Stella.

This hotel pales in comparison to the Cocumella in Sorrento and the Westin in Rome.

I was really looking forward to staying here and experiencing the renowned chef and amenities, but I am sorely disappointed. The chef is only here occasionally, so you are forced to eat at the Cantina. The food was mediocre at best. I ordered the pigeon and guinea hen fowl with pasta, and what I received was pigeon noodle casserole, minus the peas. The spaghetti with clams was full of broken shells. The service in the Cantina is fair. The breakfasts, however, are excellent, as is the breakfast wait staff.

As far as the rooms, they were nice, but not spectacular. They are, however, immaculate.

Terrible first class hotel. Setting was nice and employee was courteous but the manager was never reachable and never apologized for the disturbance created by the loud band until midnight. Avoid this hotel!

the place is beautiful, the pools are amazing but they open kinda late (10am) and close too early (7pm). the rooms are amazing, the bed was very comfy and the bathtub/bathroom really nice

Beautiful piece of Tuscany normally little explored and for this reason even richer and more varied than the flora and fauna of that area. Siena is near and so are other countries like C.Berardenga. In the structure we eat very well and the comforts are level.

The best definition, nothing left to chance, all the details are studied and coordinated. a great job of management and staff

The worst "leading hotel of the world" I've ever stayed at. Average rooms. No service at the pool. Ramsey restaurant shut for 2 nights. Tiny wardrobe for a weeks stay. Wasp infestation at the pool. Outdoor gym in baking heat. Really needs attention and I'm amazed by its accreditation as a LHOTW.

Fantastic place with beautiful rooms where you can relax immersed in nature a super luxury x who wants to have fun relax and above all eat well with the possibility of choosing between a gourmet kitchen where you can taste new and delicious dishes or choose a classic and delicious Tuscan cuisine!

Fantastic location, it literally comes off the plug. Surrounded by greenery, in the silence and beauty of the structure.

Easy to reach beautiful town rich in cultural interest and entertainment facilities

Beautiful structure, everything taken care of in the smallest details, fantastic Spa staff ... cabins x massages among the best I've seen, the customer is the center of attention and everything is coordinated and organized so that nothing is missing.

Rooms perfectly restored with taste and class. Unfortunately, considering the difficulties due to the ancient primary structure, they cannot do miracles ... Cqe is to be improved where possible the practicability of the various rooms with obvious indications of the unevenness that one can find by going up and down the various steps ... especially in the hours night !!! Courteous, thoughtful staff, prepared for any eventuality ... excellent cuisine even if rather elaborate, chemical and as such too sophisticated and not appreciated by many.

Resort surrounded by greenery, in an ancient monastery, sober atmosphere, services (restaurant, pool service) not suitable for a 5-star hotel. The restaurant is not good value for money. Rooms a little dark, not up to expectations .. Quiet, perfect x rest. Excellent breakfast served in a delightful open space. Note of merit to the maitre Emanuela, kind and competent.

I love trekking and Castel Monastero offers one of the most beautiful routes in the province. Besides being an enchanting place, it allows me to hold meetings and events of high standing, I found myself participating on behalf of an investment house and I was able to see the high professionalism of the employees in addition to the quality and goodness of the food RECOMMENDED!

Good food, nice location. Too bad we didn t had water in our room at our arrival. Air conditioner did not work properly as well. It was also difficult to get some fried eggs for breakfast. Gym was not suitable for a heavy work out, cardio was alright.

Very beautiful property and buildings on the property. Staff was very nice and food was great! Comfortable rooms, very relaxing. Nice pool area and spa with natural tuscan landscapes.

Exceptional: we went with high expectations having read and seen a fair bit about the retreat, and these guys exceeded them in every single way. From the personal, friendly and informative welcome service to the large, spacious, beautifully-decorated rooms, the awesome restaurant (Cantina) service and Michelin-star food quality, to the beautiful pools and generous breakfast served outside in the courtyard, everything was amazing. I cannot recommend the place highly enough. We will undoubtedly return (but for more than one night next time!) Castel Monastero!

Amazing and peaceful Tuscan castle/resort. 30 minutes maybe less outside of Siena. Perfect place for your Tuscan experience.

What a find! Was in Siena and decided to do a day trip. Had a hard time finding massages in the area and I found this place because of a CNN article which labeled it one of the top 10 in Europe. 80 euro without a spa service to access pool and spa. My deep tissue was 140 euro and we got to use the spa at no charge. Took about 40 euro taxi ride to get here. Give time to get one back because they don't linger at the hotel. They said they are busy on weekends and holidays. We had the place to ourselves for three hours. So worth a little getaway trip. Would definitely stay at the hotel next time.

Spectacular setting and view of the terrace in the village. Dissappointing cuisine, overrated. Lousy service and ridiculous expensive.

Wonderful location, with attention to every detail. Professional and highly trained staff. Exceptional bar for an aperitif in the restaurant serving Tuscan dishes prepared by hand, accompanied by excellent wines. The spa is very nice and great for relaxing completely. Recommended for one night, maximum two, to regain peace and completely unplug it.

This .place is beautiful. Driving distance to many other wineries within 30 minutes. It is a bit pricey but you cannot put a price on memories and good laughs and eats. We stayed in the older part of the monastery where the nunns used to stay and the rooms were ejaculate and inviting. Ask for Nick in the restuatant, he was out Google Info on wine and places to visit.

This place is extremely nice. Literally my wife and I used this as a home base for part of our Honeymoon in Tuscany. It's amazing for a few days in Tuscan region. Rooms awesome, location is beautiful but food and laundry service are a solid -1 star. Literally there is better food 5 minutes away at the local watering hole. We look at doing laundry and at 13-16 Euro per article 7 days of laundry doesn't make the service desirable.

Beautiful place, very well cared for. It gives you the feeling of such peace .. Very good food. Some details to improve: too high temperature inside the rooms / apartments on arrival; the system of light switches (very complicated, poorly understood); dining room service (4.8).

3 stars because the place is really beautiful and deserves. Peace, silence, spaces. It seems to live in a village back in time. X being a 5 star I found however mte flaws for such a structure. In the room (check in after 16? Let's talk) I found a bottle of water abandoned and forgotten. The rooms are very nice, spacious but not very practical: you can't understand how to turn on the lights and which ones you turn on when you press the various switches (I think I left them turned on all my stay because I didn't know where they turned on / off), the air conditioning works, I think, independently in the various environments, but the thermostat is not found. The fitness area absolutely not up to standard for machinery and equipment, but also a little dated (say tecnogym does not mean last generation), the staff seemed a bit lost, and in some cases improvised. Very serious mistake, in one of the wine paradises, first serve a white and then a red in the same glass (mistake made with all the table guests), good dinner but without a minimum presentation, with the wrong food / wine pairing. Portions poor (more platters than from dinner), breakfast varied but not quite developed. It would also be very useful, given the fact that it is not really in the. Immediate vicinity of a town, having a small shop (many rooms have the kitchenette option) where you can buy local products, renowned for their goodness, but nothing. In short, defining the cost to be paid may be simple, but the attention to detail is however lacking and cannot be left out, even in a country location !!

Suggestion, beauty, amazement, a Borgo invest in nature where every desire is heard.

It is an absolutely lovely location with beautiful rooms and a great pool area. The staff could not try harder to please their guests and everyone is exceptionally friendly. The restaurant is excellent, but overpriced and sadly the management had to discuss a reduction of costs with me, although we were woken on both mornings at 7 by loud gardening machines and the Wi-Fi connection did not work for a full day. At these prices I expect the courtesy of a reduction, when things don't go perfectly. The loss of two stars therefore solely for stingy management acting penny wise, pound foolish

The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are nice, but the service is poor. This surprises me as it is rated a five-star Resort and is certainly priced as such.
No one greeted us when we pulled up to the resort.
No one noticed us for more than 5 minutes when we stood at the counter for our dinner reservations.
While in the courtyard bar area, my husband had to finally get up to find someone after 10 minutes of sitting there.
And they store the bags of trash in Plain Sight at the top of the staircase to our room most of the day!

I would not return to this resort or recommend it to anyone.

Nice place loooong. A castle that engulfs you in its world, moving you away from reality. They also make the concerts and works to open. Very nice all.

Best hotel ever. The staff is always going above and beyond. Food is awesome. Gordon restaurant was closed but Cantina is 5 stars.

The place and people were great
We came for the Bocelli concert..it was amazing.
We had a special dinner at the Contrada by Chef Luigi...it was to die for

For now, my experience is limited to the SPA, which I found to be well-crafted, harmonious and well suited to the holistic concept of well-being. Prepared and courteous staff. Definitely to be repeated.
