Excellent car service with careful, responsible drivers.

Would highly recommend this service. My daughter was travelling alone to NYC and the driver arrived right on time and got her to her destination safely. It brought piece of mind to her parents in another country. I did receive a $10 voucher for submitting this review.

This is my review but Carmel is giving me $10 Car Cash for posting it. The app works well, determining your location and giving estimates for how long it will be until your driver gets there, just like Uber or Lyft. Unlike the ride-sharing apps, though, you can schedule your pick-up in advance. And the best thing, in my opinion, is the choice of payment options: You can pay for the whole ride using the app, you can pay just the base fare and then pay the driver directly for tolls and tip, or you can even reserve a ride through the app but pay the driver in cash. My only complaint is that the pickup situation at JFK is incredibly chaotic, but the same is true for Uber and Lyft also.

I've been using Carmel for years and have always experienced prompt and professional service. Recently my cousin was trying to arrange a pickup with another car service without success. She remembered I used Carmel and gave her the number. When she reached her destination, she texted me that she was very happy and satisfied with the service and professionalism. The driver that picked us up was 15 minutes late. Luckily dispatch called and warned us. Driver was blunt and not very friendly, but I believe that was a language barrier issue. The driver told us with traffic that it would take us 90 minutes, but Google maps said only 50.

We arrived at Newark EWR airport earlier than expected. Our driver was at the appointed pick up area in less than 3 minutes, extremely courteous, offering current status of NY traffic, because the UN was in session in case we did not know it, and his car was immaculate, he drove well, communication with Carmel dispatcher was easy and instructions clear. All over a perfect pick up.

Great company, always on time and reliable. Would hae been 5 stars except, our driver on our return trip from the airport seemed a little dstracted in his driving. Our driver to the airport was exceptional.

We ve used Carmel three times this week, and the service has been fantastic each time. Our first ride was from JFK to Midtown. Our driver was early, and he hauled our two gigantic suitcases into the trunk with a smile. He was terrific. Our next trip was from Midtown to Mahopac, NY, and then back. Both drivers were early, courteous, and safe drivers. While I am awarded $10 Car cash from Carmel for posting a review, we ll be booking yet another ride next week, back to the airport. Overall, we always felt safe, found the rates very reasonable, the cars were clean and the drivers perfect in every way.

I've come back to using Carmel's car service in NYC after years of using those other ride-sharing apps. After noticing the pricing from the other apps skyrocket as a result of congestion pricing or increased competition, it's a relief to still have the reliable service of Carmel at a competitive price. Also love the new app and the ability to request cars quickly and track where your driver is. I typically don't post reviews but felt compelled to share, especially given my recent airport pick up experience from the driver, Eloy, who was one of the best Carmel drivers I've ever had. I had a great experience. I booked the ride from Manhattan to JFK pretty short notice. The driver, Mr. Dhillon, was on time and helped me with my luggage. I felt very safe and Mr. Dhillon was extremly nice and knew his way around. I highly recommend Carmel. Thank you very much.

I will receive $10 credit for this review, nevertheless I am very pleased by the service in 2 trips with Carmel Car Service, March 2019, in NYC. Efficient to order on line, clean car, excellent driver. Made good time to La Guardia despite rush hour traffic. Highly recommend.

The over all experience was good...very similar to Lift/Uber but cost more. We had a difficulty booking. 1st with the phone number application. The program kept kicking us out not accepting the phone number. 2nd the address that we needed to submit would not be accepted. Eventually we chose one of the options, hoping that it would be the right one and...it was not. The driver would not listen to my explanation of the situation and started driving us to the wrong location. I was leery of this the whole time so I was watching his navigation and when the passed the exit ramp for our location, I made him aware of the problem. He immediately realized the problem and got us back on track. The program was the problem...not the driver.

It was my first time on NYC. So I didn't know how to get from JFK to Times Square.
UBER/LYFT was around $80 when we got there, and Carmel was $65 with toll and tip included.

Driver was helpful and very nice.

I use Carmel whenever I travel into NYC. On my trip from the airport yesterday, the car was prompt, as always, a late model, roomy Toyota Highlander. The driver was courteous and handled luggage with a smile. My return airport trip is already booked as is my airport round trip for 3 months from now. Highly recommended.

I have been using Carmel since 1998, when we resided in a suburb of New York. We moved to Manhattan in 2004, and are still using their service. I have tried Uber, Lyft and Dial 7, but find Carmel more reliable, and very easy to use. Carmel has offered me $10 to do this review, but I am more than happy to give them a thumbs up, even if it was gratis!

Can I do less than one star? Awful. Called six times. Always on hold. Driver a few minutes away for 40 minutes. Got a Lyft in 40 seconds. No apology from Carmel. Nothing.

We always reserve a car with Carmel when going to or from the airport. When being picked up at home, the driver is always early and waiting for us. Upon our return at the airport, it is very easy to confirm arrival and meet the driver at the terminal.

The website was super easy to use to book our trip to the airport. We had to make a last minute change to our booking and when I called the office they handled it with no problem at all. I had an excellent service from Carmel for a pick up from LGA. My flight was delayed a couple of hours but Carmel ensured that there was a car waiting for me after I picked up my luggage even though it was a couple of hours after my reservation time. I also appreciated how quickly the operators pick up when telling them about the flight changes and when you tell them that you re ready for your car. Will definitely use this service again. I booked a car 24 hours in advance of my 14 hour flight home from abroad, I put in my flight information at the time of booking. I received a confirmation email and when I collected my luggage I used the app to say I was ready for a car. The app informed me the driver was on the way but the pickup was at the wrong terminal. I called, got hung up on, called again and was told the driver would come to me at the correct terminal in 8 minutes. After waiting 30 minutes total I called back and was at that time informed they didn t have a car for me! I was told I could continue to wait but there was no driver available.

I had a great Carmel experience yesterday. The car arrived early, which was very helpful. The driver was very nice, chatted a bit when I wanted to talk, and then was silent. I used Carmel Car Service to book a last minute airport pick-up for my brother and his family. They were quick to accommodate my request and provided great service. The driver was on time and gave my brother a perfect ETA of when they would arrive at my apartment. I will definitely use their car service in the future.

I just had another excellent ride with Carmel - who I have used for years. My driver was excellent and he made it through insane NYC traffic with ease and calm focus. I always check with Carmel first when I need rides to/from the airports.

Driver arrived early. Very friendly and was also sensitive to Covid concerns.

After 30 plus years of great service, covid-19 may cause me to abandon this service. Called to ask if cars had partitions and was told no. This does not work for a senior like me. Hope they reconsider. Uber is putting in partitions. Will miss you guys:(

Terrible service. I've used them 3 times and had major issues 2 of them. The first time, the car was an HOUR LATE. Second time was fine. Third time, they called me 10 minutes before the car was supposed to arrive to say that the website quoted the wrong price and they need to bill $11 more or they would cancel the reservation. Terrible customer service and lost a customer over $11.

Great Service! Booked in advance and all I had to do was call them once had my bags at Laguardia. A short walk around the corner and the driver met me 5 minutes later. He was great and the trip to my hotel was easy. Best value of all the options I researched to get from LAG to Midtown.

I usually prefer Carmel. But this was my first and last late night call. 2 texts ... 5 phone calls saying the driver is on the way, it will be another 10 or 15 minutes ... 1 hour and 8 minutes later, I get a very polite driver who asked me ..."what no tip?" because I only tipped him $2. This was an interesting experience.

Days searching in internet a transfer between Newark Airport to JFK Hilton in NYC. I know all the options will be costly but I kept searching. I reserved nothing and got to Newark. No transfer and don't know what to do. I saw in every corner this sign about this company and the easy way to work with it. I got the app, start playing with it and did it! I call a phone number, gave my confirmation # and in less than 15 minutes an Avalon was waiting for us. Very reliable and Profesional. In the web the less expensive transfer cost 74.00, in a van, without tolls and tips. And they get me to the airport and not to the Hotel. Would be more expensive because then had to take a cab to the hotel. Here was private, to the door and fast. The best price and best service by chance. I have to put this by law but is unfair and unnecessary because it looks like they are paying for a good review and that's not true. Frankly, we got satisfied and the ride was smooth and comfortable knowing that from Newark to JFK, that's almost impossible.
