Always wanted to try this place. There was a great stylish atmosphere, with high ceilings and and pretty open dining floor. The service was really fast and friendly. Everyone I interacted with from the host to the server to what I believe was a busser (who asked me if I needed change while my server was busy, great attention) was friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious, I got the Seafood Monger Platter and everything in it was fresh and different. The clams were amazing. My friend had the ribs, which were a tad smoaky but delicious none the less. Can't wait to have another night out here!

I admire this spot! They serve first-cleass meals, their menu is rich, The cook in that restaurant is very experienced, I like a lot eating all their dishes. The dishes are always fresh and tasty, the attitude towards the clients is friendly. I often eat in this place and I not even once was unsatisfied. Highly recommended.
This is not the typical BBQ place you expect. More of a bar and grill IMO. The brisket is a little dry, probably because I got the tip portion of the brisket. The ribs is good. The fried chicken is OK.. tender but not as juicy as other famous fried chicken in town. The meat quality is not doubt very good and I like the fact that they only use dry rub for the BBQ so that you can taste the flavor of the good quality meat, but definitely more room for improvement. The complementary chocolate at the end is perfect. Service is excellent and this place is great for family or friend get together. Reservation is usually needed.
It was my boyfriend's birthday and he was craving ribs so I started searching for a well-known barbecue place and stumbled upon the Carbon Bar. When we got there the place from the inside looked absolutely amazing so I was pretty happy with my choice, however that is where my happiness stopped. The server was nice but seemed to be pretty spaced-out, we ordered drinks and they took forever to come, my sister-in-law ordered a drink and after 20 minutes he came by and said to her: "did you order a drink by the way, I don't remember what it was."
I don't understand how that can happen, I was a server and totally get that when it's busy things can get out of hand but that is poor service and he didn't seem apologetic. Our food came before our drinks and the excuse was that the bar was backed up. My wine took over 30mins to come.
Now to the food...my boyfriend ordered the ribs which were $25, plus another $7 for fries...he got six pieces of ribs that did not have a lot of meat on them and we're not the greatest. Safe to say he didn't enjoy what he was craving.The brisket however was absolutely delicious and so was the boozy chicken.
Our server was nowhere to be seen half the time, it took us over 15mins to get ketchup for my niece . I will not be going back. The food was subpar and the service was just horrible.
Really great decor, I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The service was good, our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. Dessert was excellent, the lemon rubarb parfait and the Rocky road Sunday we're both excellent. My main course was tasty, portion was a tad small. But since it was Summerlicious I understand the smaller portions. Overall really enjoyed my experience.
This place is fantastic, I ve only ever been for brunch but it s perfect. Amazing cocktails and the brunch menu is bomb!!! Make sure to try the chicken and waffles and pancakes.
Went there for birthday dinner for about 12 people and was extremely disappointed in the service. The service was slow and unfriendly. Kept having to wait for a server to come by to take drink orders, literally had to flag a server down. Even after we got the food no one came around to ask us how our meals were. I expect better service from a place that automatically charges 18% gratuity for larger groups. As for food... it was ok.
This place is terrible - they charge high prices for mediocre food. The apps were decent but the mains we had (eg the brisket) were terrible. I m ok with paying high prices if the food is good but the brisket was terrible. Their service was decent enough, our waiter was nice.
I had my birthday dinner here and I had such an amazing time with my friends and family. The space is gorgeous and the food is delicious. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and the staff were so helpful and really took care of us. I highly recommend this place :)
Immediately welcomed by the bartender as I sat down at the bar to wait for a friend. Great value on drink specials from 5 to 7pm including $10 old fashioned. Pleasantly surprised that it came with complementary canapes (2 small tortilla bites). Hip/chic interior design, great for casual business meetings. Definitely going back.
My best food experience ever was here. Tried frog legs for the very first time and it was wonderful. Great wine with delicious food. Server was friendly and he took good care of us. Loved everything in here!
We had the carbon experience. Everything was excellent. Cauliflower bites, ceviche, salmon with crispy skin, buttermilk chicken, banoffee pie were my top items in each of the courses in this very delicious experiance. HOWEVER everything else also tasted amazing. The restaurant is classy so wear something nice but make sure it is a little loose or stretchy you will want to try everything.

From the moment you enter that place the personel give you an excellent feeling. Very courteous hosts, it is a nice restaurant to go out with friends or with your date. very good meals, skillful chef de cuisine, comfortable price and attentive service. Highly recommended.
Service was excellent; however, food was horrible. Five stars for hospitality, one star for the food. They need a new chef, asap. The bar is beautiful and the ambiance is great but I don't think I'll be coming back unless they change the chef.
The ceviche was super tasty and zesty. Mac n cheese was made perfect. A little crisp on the top and saucy on the inside. The jalapeno corn bread was so good with the home made butter was to die for. We put the butter on everything! The brisket was good, but they should've given more sauce and it was a little cold.
Review based on a dinner with a group of 6. Cocktails great, one of the favourites is the carbon infused margarita. Delicious. Oysters fresh, Alligator bites, Cauliflower all excellent. But the best were the Duck Tacos. Simply heavenly. BBQ was great and so the deserts, Death by Chocolate and the Pie. Comfort food made to enjoy and well executed. I take one star off for service, it was a bit inattentive. Recommendation, if you are in the mood for this type of food very much recommended.
The place is quite unassuming from the outside but very modern from the inside. We just had apps and drinks. The duck tacos were a treat and so was the roasted and spiced cauliflower. The place is quiet and great to have a conversation be it with friends or business.
Our waiter was the best waiter I've ever had in Toronto. This was the second intifada men I've ever been here, and it was with a girlfriend of mine. The waiter suggested what I should have, he was dead on with suggestions. I have never been more satistified with recommendations in my entire like. Needless to say this is one of my favourite place to each in Toronto - the atmosphere and the food are far beyond what I've experience in this city. Definitely a must place to try.
This place was ever so delicious! We went for the carbon bar experience and were NOT disappointed! The food was great and you got to try a bunch of new things (not to mention the normal food you got to eat which is way better than anything you will ever taste again). I honestly don't even like ribs or barbeque much and this was the best food I have ever had.
We made last minute decision to come here for Pre-Valentine's Day dinner. The front desk was not too friendly like they have difficulty to offer us a table without a reservation. We waited around 20 mins until they served few groups came after us. Yes, those groups had reservations. We ended up getting a table. After we seated, we saw empty tables around. Not sure why they had to make customers feeling "unwelcome" just because they don't have a reservation.
BBQ platter was good thou. However, I don't think I would visit again.
The food here is delicious and the portions are really generous - we had the burnt ends sandwich and the pit master platter for 1. We got the Mac and Cheese as a side.
Well...as far as BBQ joints go, it was okay. For the portion size, I felt it was too pricey. The brisket was very tender and well smoked and the ribs had a fall-off-the-bone quality. But, the portions were meager, the side dishes average and the drink prices a little too "hipster" IMHO. Service was, however wonderful!!
Big, empty and pricey. The drink and food menu had interesting items... But I wouldn't spend a lot of time or money on it. Grab a custom cocktail and an appy and head elsewhere.
Their slow-cooked meat options are incredible. Went with a friend and we tried the burger and the brisquet and they were both incredible. The fact it is slow cooked and well prepared makes all the difference. Also, service was friendly and there was a great variety of coktails in the menu. Highly recommend .
Ordered food from here once. It was the bbq platter. Qty was ok ; just about enough for two people. The ribs were tender and some of the best. The pulled pork tasted good too. Wasn't too impressed by the brisket. Would help if they include some more pieces of fried chicken in the platter too. The coleslaw was awful.
Very good bbq spot with a few delicious veggie options. Don t sleep on the fried cauliflower which is amazing. The risotto is also amazing. The rest of my party shared a meat platter and they were all impressed. Can t go wrong at the Carbon Bar.
Ordered the Pit Master Platter for 3 people which was delicious but "small" portions for $30+. Ran out of corn bread which was disappointing and Mac & Cheese side is good for two.
If you decide to dine here please order the pit master platter! You won t regret it!! Everything in this picture was cooked to perfection. My favourite is the pork ribs they literally fall off the bone!! I will never stop eating at this place! No No
Went to Carbon Bar for our 27 anniversary...wow what a beautiful place. A great smell from their wood fire pit great service and the Tapas are number 1 and I have been to a few in Toronto. The blend of the old Electric Circus dance club and an opening event into the dinning room makes the esthetics 2nd to none...will be coming back.
Something for everyone and the quality is worth the prices. The shareable options are fantastic - you MUST try the Korean Fried Cauliflower! You ll wish you had bucket of it to go. Beyond your traditional BBQ flavours, the seafood and veggie options are equally enticing. The atmosphere is sheik but casual. You ll find yourself back for more.
When we arrived for our reservation we were told our table wasn't ready. It was empty. They made people wait while half the tables were empty. Aaaand there were 4 people working coat check. The drinks and wine are grossly overpriced so we had beer, which was not. Appetizer was very tiny for 18 dollars and then we had the platter with a selection of ribs chicken and brisket with fries. The chicken would have been good if they added more salt. Everything else had so much salt I was almost gagging. Ah. Overpriced drinks, got it.
Great cocktails. Nice and promp service. Great foods. Nice place to have snack after work or dinner with family or friends. This time I tried alligator. Not the best I had. In the past I had frog legs. They were amazing. Best I ever had. Not on menu now. Management bring them back please.
Amazing food, atmosphere, and drinks! Generally, I don't go for cocktails, but after hearing some positive reviews, I decided to give one a try, and was not disappointed! Their twist on an Old Fashioned was really yummy- highly recommend. The food was fabulous as well! Come hungry, no small portions here! Stand outs were the shishito peppers, brisket, and fried cauliflower.
Duck tacos were fantastic !! The fried chicken was a letdown - the batter is too lightly seasoned , Popeyes would of been more satisfying in comparison
Large place, great for groups, good atmosphere although a little loud at times. I went with a big group so we were required to do the $79 group dinner, it was good, but bring an appetite because it's a HUGE amount of food. The food just kept coming.
The meat was at times a little too Smoky for my tastes but that's their thing, so if you like smoke flavour you'll love it
Friendly and helpful staff, I was served by the manager, he came by to check how things were. To say the food is amazing is an understatement, I wish I could eat here more often!
Beautifully designed space. Food was ok, drinks were good, and the service started ok but went downhill from there to the point of being just plain rude at the end. We were rudely asked to leave by the Server , then the Manager to accommodate for their schedule. Even when they were not ready with the bills on time, then they brought them 15 minutes later ... wrong bills had to be redone (they were still wrong but at that point we wanted to end the unpleasant experience and not put up with their attitude anymore and just paid them the way they were). Poor attitude and rudeness with customers is unacceptable in the service industry.
Excellent food. Went as a group and tried the fried chicken, burgers, BBQ platter and a few other appetizers. Would recommend and I plan on going back again.
Fantastic food. Love the various seasonings on different meats and other dishes - they don't kill everything with the same spice blend or smoke settings.
Mother's Day special included an apple crumble that was to die for.
Yesterday was our first time we went to this magnificent restaurant. But It is no doubt not the last. We had great time with the generous service, with the excellent cooking and booze and with the decent cost. We will surely go back there again.
