My family and I have been coming here for years but it has changed so much. There used to be a big kids area in the 2nd floor but now it has been narrowed to 5 different small areas. It seems that they have removed things so it looks empty. It's still a nice place to visit for kids because they get to learn about space, the human body, and habitats.

Endeavor, as well as other space probes, are on display. Many real objects are on display, which is very impressive. There are many exhibits on the space shuttle. There are also many exhibits that are not in Japan, such as real and touchable objects. It takes half a day just for space-related exhibits. It was an irresistible museum for space lovers.
Of course, there are exhibitions on various topics such as creatures and the environment, as well as the universe.

We LOVE this place! We drive far to come here ever so often with our kiddos. There is fun for every age, and the place is so interactive and educational it s hard to believe it s free. It s a day trip, and always fun to visit the Rose Garden right outside afterwards and enjoy the street vendors. One of our favorite places!

This place is quite the experience!! We walked under a space shuttle, came face-to-face with ancient dinosaurs, explored mazes of precious stones, rare gems, and massive nuggets of be pure gold, peered into Gemini and Apollo Landers, and SO MUCH MORE! I always heard of these amazing moments in Earth's history or seen photos of these rates artifacts, but I never imagined I would experience them in person. I love this place!

Can't beat free admission! This place is so much fun for kids (and adults). You can learn so much about different topics and have a great time while doing so. There is definitely lots to see and everything is interactive, which is perfect for children, since they like to touch everything they see! There are even live starfish and sea urchins in touch tanks. Add this on your list of places to see/things to do when you're visiting from out of town with kids!

This is a great place to bring your kids! Young children will love the dog exhibit!

We also saw the imax theater dog movie and enjoyed that very much. I am not sure if young children would like the movie as much for be able to follow all the things they talked about in the movie, but I am sure that young children will Like that the movie is in 3-D and they will enjoy seeing the dogs jump and the thrilling parts of the movie visually.

You can even upload your dog's picture to the display in the children's exhibit.

We also got to go see the endeavor! It is included with our price to see the dog exhibit. I really enjoyed seeing that endeavor and learning more about its tasks and all the things it accomplished for our space Program.

General entrance is free. Xtra for movies and special exhibits. Totally kid friendly with plenty for all! Fabulous Resource courtesy of the Great State of California -- free general entrance. AMAZING!!! See the Space shuttle Endeavor and posted Tributes to ALL space shuttle mission. BUT first see Moon and space exhibits.

AND the totally astonishing California Ocean tank complete with sharks, anemones, Girabaldi (state fish), bass, rockfish, morey eels etc... (kelp is the Star ) often divers feeding eels and fish. Interactive tanks upstairs. Bonus shuttle fuel tank exhibit outside, a rare surviving example. For those with no kids, go right for the Space and then Ocean Marine exhibits. Teachers and parents, plan for awesome interactives in both!

Food court about 10-15 per person, decent quantity of food for the price (it's LA).
Get there cheap from Union Station, from Amtrak take the Metro Red Line - Transfer--off at 8th and Metro, Transfer to Metro Expo Line (light blue - don't confuse with Metro Blue line - no extra charge but tap your card!), off at Science Center / USC.

Walk through the lovely Rose garden to get there. Next to USC, Rose garden, LA Coliseum.

Excellent for a day trip. Parking is $12 at the Science Center but entry is only $2 per person. Carpool or take the Metro which has a stop in Exposition Park. They have the usual space and aerospace museum as well as the Space Shuttle Endeavor on display.

Until January 2019 they have the King Tut exhibit which opens an hour earlier during summer. Tickets are extra for the exhibit. They also have a King Tut IMAX movie to go along with the exhibit. It sold out on the Saturday we went. Go early and avoid the crowds!

They also have a nice gift shop, additional IMAX movies, and good food offerings. Pizza, tacos, sandwiches, and burgers as well as salads and a conveience store.

You should look at the Endeavor. I'm not a space enthusiast, but I'm tearing involuntarily once again knowing the history of the Endeavor development (I was watching the tragedy of the Challenger's tragedy in real time.) I'm gone. How much of what we enjoy now is built on the will, courage, and sacrifice of many people, and it spreads to the end of the universe without stopping in the atmosphere. It makes me think variously, such as the power of human curiosity.

We went here for the King Tut exhibition which was amazing. The artifacts are accompanied by pictures above the glass cases and short videos giving details about the artifacts. There are a few places to eat here. A very beautiful rose garden is opposite to the science center and it's worth taking a stroll through it.The science center also has different satellite models and is home to the famous endeavor.

Really cool place. We spent 5 hours there and didn't have nearly enough time to get thru it all. Plan for the whole day.

The dog exhibit was awesome. Gives me new appreciation for my pup, for sure. Also saw the IMAX movie about dog heroes. Awwww it was so cute and amazing to see those incredible doggy heroes!

Definitely will be back.

Parking was $12 for the day. Tickets were free for the main exhibit, but cost for the IMAX movie and special exhibit (like the dog one).
