I love Brennecke's and would give it a 4.5. The food is good, the portion size is huge, the view is stunning and the staff is so friendly and welcoming. Everyone is happy there- why wouldn't you? You're in Kauai

You know.... I was hesitant in checking this place out We have been here twice in a week and it s Flippin awesome!!! The customer service is on point and the food is superb! You definitely have to check out the deli for the breakfast muffins in the mornings. I love this place!

Slow service but they were busy so I understand. Wonderful tropical drinks! Food was a bit overpriced but you get that pretty much everywhere in Poipu Beach. Friendly staff and fun atmosphere made it worth it!

A little expensive $22 for Caesar salad with tuna but good food and it s Hawaii

Tried this place right near Poipu Beach. Food was decent, ordered the fish burger, ceviche salad, and the sampler. Nothing you write home about. Can't say the prices are justified.

Great views over the beach park & fresh/tasty food. The house salad is local greens with a nice white vinegarette, the coconut shrimp were delicious, albeit the portions were a lil small. However, the prime rib was huge & delicious.

Great location, great food, service was on point, live music was very relaxing.

My wife and i were there with my mother and father in 1998 it was a great place and the food was excellent , especially the best piece of cake we ever had chocolate suicide cake , very friendly staff prices were decent , we loved it thus 5 stars. Jon Donnelly.

You pay for view and the location. Over priced too, but I can't image the lease is cheap in this location. Not great, not horrible, just nothing special. Drive a bit from the beach and go to Kalapaki Joe's or Keoki's.

Ya know, it was just okay. Okay food. Okay service. Just okay...

We had a large group. We went in at the end of happy hour. Ordered some Mai Tais and apps (nachos and coconut shrimp) . Just okay. The main course was fresh fish tacos, linguine, and the fresh catch fish sandwich. Again, just okay.

Maybe my group spoiled ourselves a bit ahead of eating here. Or maybe we had an off day there, but for the price I expected much more.

All that said the views and atmowwas great!

Beautiful view to enjoy while eating delicious food. Really nice place to just relax and have a great meal.

I was a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews, especially since it looked like a tourist trap, but I was pleasantly surprised with my dining experience.

Their Kahlua pork nachos rock, and the Mai Tai was great, but the lava flow sent my blood sugar skyrocketing, overly sweet!!!

My fish and chips were delicious. Fries were thin and crispy, loved them.

Keep your expectations low, and you might just have a great experience

Ok, nice view. I guess that's where they get there business from. I had a burger that was over cooked to my request. Service was good. To be fair, I've eaten here before and had the linguine and clams and it was pretty good.

Sunset dinner here was beautiful. Service was great and food almost great. They have Kauai kombucha in a bottle you can take with you if you don't finish it with the meal and they gave a kama'aina discount!

Fun place with a great view. Easy walk over from the beach after watching the sunset. Good beer. TVs for watching sports and very friendly service

Service was friendly and prompt, prices very reasonable - especially at happy hour - but food was just ok.

Great service and my teriyaki burger was good. Fries were a little stale was the only negative.

Location is great, but food was mediocre. The bartender seemed annoyed that we were there, and we felt uncomfortable as she was conversing with the servers about getting a break from people. We agreed that was our worst experience at a restaurant on our first visit to Kauai. We will not return there nor will we recommend it to anyone else.

This is one of our go to's on the South side. Way before we moved here. Good reasonably priced food, excellent service always. Today was Chelbie nice end to our beach day

Lots of options! My personal favorite is the beach burger deluxe! Very large portions too, and amazing waffle fries!

For the record, I d give 4.5 stars, just not an option here.
My husband and I got the large Caesar salad and added both the grilled shrimp and Ahi blackened. The shrimp were outstanding and the ahi was delicious too. The Caesar salad dressing was was just ok. (I would suggest ask for light dressing and a small side-but that s just me wanting lighter dressing)
The waiter we had was great, very attentive and accommodating.
The view is, of course, incredible.

Very nice, casual setting with a good waitstaff. All four of us enjoyed our meals. My steak was perfectly grilled and juicy. The only reason it doesn t get five stars from me is that when I ordered steak and scallops I probably expected that scallops meant more than two. Regardless, I ll definitely be back!

Always consistent, all the staff are super friendly, in a prime location.

Nachos were not up to usual standard today. Only half the nachos were edible, the rest where limp and in a half inch of liquid which the waitress explained as grease from the pork. No attempt was made to rectify the situation. Sadly, I will not eat there again even though it has always been on my vacation to do list.

Very good food and nice views but we felt it was overpriced for what you get. If you don't feel like going far from the beach - then you'll enjoy the food - but you can do better for the price nearby

Upstairs is a grill, and downstairs is a sandwich shop. Service was good at both, and food was fresh and tasty. Prices were not bad either. They feature their own home made chips in the sandwich shop, as well as ice cream, drinks, and coffee selections.

We remember the old before the hurricane Brenneckes! We always make it a date when on the island! I have to say The best damn hamburger in the Islands or on the mainland!!! Fries yummy too! Fish n chips outstanding!!
The bartender made us a special cocktail from my Hurricane recipe from The Bushwhacker in Port Angeles,Wa. Sadly now closed due to owner retiring, but we can still have their famous drink!!! Thank-you wahine bartender!!You did awesome! Would love to see it on your bar menu!!! Hint hint

Casual beach restaurant with large open windows overlooking the beach. I enjoyed the lunch and atmosphere!

We had fast service, good food and good atmosphere with a nice ocean breeze. Have been there a couple of times and has been consistent.

View was amazing, we saw whales spouting and breaching on the horizon. I ordered nachos during happy hour and they were LOADED. Generous amounts of everything. The sweet pork on them was just fantastic. Definitely coming back on my next trip!

This place has good food, good beer, and overlooks the ocean at the southern end of Kauai. The sun was out and so were hundreds of folks swimming and and trying to get sun tans. A great day!

Service was excellent and friendly but the food was nothing special.. the "char-broiled" fish sandwich was definitely not char-broiled and there was no lava in the lava cake. For a table of 12, no one was particularly thrilled with their dish. The garlic waffle fries were tasty, though. Would not come back.

Good lava lava flows except they were slightly too sweet. Worst Mai Tai we have had yet on our 2 week trip in Hawaii. Which is sad since that is what they are known for. Dragon fruit mojito was decent but not recommended. We got fish tacos: fish didn't taste good but the sauce was good. Service was good and optimally quick. Price was expensive. Essentially you are paying for the view.

I don't remember what we ordered. I believe it some type of sliders and a few appetizers. I just remember the food was good and the service was really good. I recall we were all really tired by the time we ate. We were driving around the island all day prior to stopping by here when returning to the Sheraton.

We've visited this place everything we've been to Kauai. They have a great range of fish dishes so there's always something new to try. Service is friendly and attentive. On top of that you can look out onto the beach as you eat. Wonderful!

Good spot just off the beach. Good happy hour and pupus. It is family friendly and you can get pitchers of any blended drink. It is reasonably priced off the resorts and has a good relaxed vibe.

Best fish tacos I've ever had. My wife had the coconut shrimp - just amazing. Service was great; the waitress was cheerful, prompt, and gave us advice on the nearby beaches. Great experience!

Ate here twice. Food was excellent both times. I had the ahi tacos and the macadamia crusted mahi mahi. Both were delicious and the service was excellent!

Nice location. Lots of beach ambience. Prices reflect location. Burger and fries $18. Fries were cold however the burger was very good and large.

When we came to Kauai 4 years ago we ate a dinner here which was ok, but the drinks were to die for. This time the drinks were sub par, but the meals were great. I had a local fish dinner that was perfectly prepared and the sauce used was a excellent match. I could have easily woofed down another portion. Fish is easy to over cook, so I was quite impressed . I had a mai tai that way too weak, which surprised me as they toot about how many they sell. But like a chef, different bartenders do not make there drinks the same way. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience, and our waitress was nice and attentive . Yes, we will return.

When for Happy hour, picture of margaritas and the coconut shrimp appetizers, delicious, so much we order the orders for four of us, to full to eat dinner, keith our waiter was so good to us, we even had house Mai tai's, so good.

Awesome food/restaurant with amazing views. The only reason I m giving them a 4 star review is because from the time we were seated to the time we left was over 2 hrs. While we don t want to feel like we are being rushed out, getting our food (which was delicious) took a long time and getting our check took a while as well. They are a very busy restaurant so it s understandable.

Really nice spot to end the evening. Food was good every visit. Except the smoked marlin pupu..tough and hard to eat. Drop down to the beach to watch for turtles and grab a shave ice with vanilla ice cream to go.
