Merriman's Honolulu is a welcome addition to Oahu. The food is great, the service is wonderful, the bistro vibe is nice, and there's valet parking. We now have a new favorite restaurant, and will be returning frequently!

Giving this place 5 stars. Food and service is excellent. Very tasty food. Can just go for drinks and appetizers or order those delicious entrees. Ambiance is great. Decor is tasteful done. Prices $$ to $$$. FYI they automatically charge you 2% for kitchen fee and 20% gratuity for large parties. Our party is a party of 9. Wouldnt mind paying this much as long as the food taste really really good - and it was!!! I will be definitely coming back for more....

Dropped in at 6 PM and was told next available seating was 8:45. Took open seating at the bar (did not have to wait). Samples most of the appetizers and found them to be tasty. Poke was made right in front of us and tasted great. French onion soup was different to what I am used to, but nevertheless tasted great. If you can afford it, Nobu may be a better choice.

The place is great and service is amazing. I stop with my wife for happy hour and order a $5 burger. Yes $5 burger in Kakaako and it was the best burger I ever ate and I`m not exaggerating. If you are close by during happy hour you must stop by and try the burger! lol

During a visit to several islands my wife and I stopped by Merriman's as they advertised using local ingredients. We were most pleasantly surprised at the quality of our meal! From the appetizers and cocktails to the main course and desert we were extremely satisfied. We enjoyed many fine restaurants during our vacation but Merriman's was our favorite. Definitely check out the Maui onion soup and Merriman's Mai Tai!

Very good quality of food and delicious. Atmosphere was too loud and noisy. Great for crowds who don't mind having a fancy and expensive food and you have to shout so your companions can hear you!

Bad first experience here at marriman's. First we were sequestered to the outdoor dining and only allowed to order a grass fed burger. The burger was good but the service was bad. We didn't even get the 25% off our drinks that we had ordered during happy our. Left me disappointed being that this restaurant had good ratings.

One of my favorite and go to spots. Happy hour menu is great and can get a good amount of food for cheap. Their dinner menu is great as well with plenty of options. I've yet to have a dish I didn't like. Servers are friendly and atmosphere is comfy with live music. All of their dishes give some sort of twist on a classic and none of them have missed for me yet. Their cocktails are also on point with the na koi oi being my wife's all time favorite. Highly recommend.

Horrible service but good food!

Horrible service but good food!

Arrived at 11:30, ordered at 11:40 and food finally came out at 12:45.
We asked our server and never got a reason why the food took so much time.

The food was good but the wait is just ridiculous.

With such a variety of dining options at Ward Village, it s hard to stand out, but Merriman s does so with a creative take on some classics.

An escargot dish features tender bites of tako, or octopus, bathed in a garlicky butter sauce, and fish and chips re-envisions the latter with crispy smashed potatoes. Bread pudding gets a Hawaiian touch with Maui Gold pineapple and a generous sprinkle of macadamia nuts pulled together nicely by a rum sauce.

Just be sure to make reservations if you re planning to dine during peak lunch and dinner hours!

What an outstanding restaurant. Definitely the best dining experience in Oahu. From the service to the food this place just can not be beat. From the lobster pot pie, to the ribeye, to the ahi, also you can't forget the chocolate purse (so good even those at the table who didn't like chocolate fell in love). We are excited to visit Oahu again, and even more excited to go back to Merriman's.

As with the Merriman's locations in Kapalua and Waimea, this was an excellent visit. My parent and my wife had an excellent lunch, and the wait staff was fantastic. The kimchee was a bit spicier here than it was at the other two locations and, as such, was a bit more than I could take. However, everything else we had was phenomenal, as always. Thanks again for a great visit!

Food and service was good. I had the fish and chips, my wife had the burger, my daughter had the mac & cheese. Burger was juicy and full of flavor, my daughter ate my fish and chips. The star was the bread pudding, it ruined by diet .

I would have given a four stars however on Thanksgiving Dinner 2019, it was a set menu at $79 ++ per person...
And they ran out of one main course and one appetiser when we ordered. I am assuming this would not happen since the menu is "fixed"; an experience restauranteur would have a better gauge of the forecast of inventory ...
O.wait...It was total of 3 things... They also ran out of one of the 3 desserts ( a person gets all 3 desserts ) and they replaced the missing one with chocolate ice cream.... :(

It was sad to have dishes you love ran out
...

Service was reasonably sweet .

Thank u

Service was good, and the appetizers were tasty. The entrees we had for dinner were not impressive

I had the lamb dish which was a very small portion of an off cut big island lamb. They claimed shoulder and tenderloin but I think it was 90% shoulder. While tasty, I would classified this as a $44 small plate. Not worth it.

My wife had the lobster & shrimp pot pie. Too much filling, very little lobster

Grabbed lunch and tried the biscuits, Caesars salad, kale salad and quesadillas.

Really enjoyed the biscuits. The kale salad was good but I was not "wowed". The Caesars salad was better because of the fried green tomato slices. I wish there were more of the tasty tomatoes. In fact, this would be a great appetizer with some arugula and siracha aoli.

The quesadilla was very tasty and paired well with the kimchi and mustard.

Overall, liked the food but I was expecting to have been wowed a bit more.

Excellent. Menu was varied but not too adventurous, portions were generous, taste was great, and prices were fair. The space was perfect for a work meeting or family get together, as well as for someone just wanting to grab lunch. Service was excellent; very knowledgable and approachable staff. While at a distance this place may seem like an exclusive fine dining experience, it isn't. Its very warm and inviting and the focus is obvious: people and good food.

Happy Hour is highly recommended as it offers burgers and onion gratin soup for $ 5. The car seems to stop at Whole Foods or tjmax.

What a lovely lunch.

What a lovely lunch.
The bread plate was exceptional -the biscuits were fantastic and the Rye bread was the best I ve ever had and finally the rustic white bread and sea salt was divine!

The Caesar salad was excellent .

The room itself is well laid out with just the right amount of air conditioning on a hot day.

I will definitely be going back a few more times on this trip

This place is absolutely amazing 15/10 recommend! The service and atmosphere is chill but still upscale. The food.....our waitress gave us the best recommendations. My husband and I got the Maui cattle filet and the Ny bone in steak. Cooked to perfection and the filet melts like butter in your mouth even better than the my steak did. I got the polenta with goat cheese, best polenta I ve ever had!! Decently priced could easily have a nice dinner without spending too much, even though me and my husband went all out for our anniversary! Can t wait to come back!

Visited the Ward Kakaako area, which is lined with redeveloped condominiums and stylish apartments, as a reputable store built last year. Honolulu is said to be the first store to open, but there are shops that require reservations on the island of Hawaii. I asked for the delicious steak, but I enjoyed the glassfed beef. The motto is local production for local consumption, and you can enjoy fresh vegetables and local seafood. Smoked oysters are mainly made of smoked raw oysters and smelled, but the idea is interesting and the taste is deep. The kimchi that I ordered was fermented moderately, and it tasted sour and tasted good.

First sit down meal in Honolulu. Made reservations for 7pm and was seated promptly. Service was friendly and attentive. Food was fantastic, particularly the macadamia crusted local monchong fish which tastes like a buttery cross between halibut and sea bass. My sister loved the burger with local Maui onions. We also had the octopus cooled a la escargot that was served with this fantastic toast. Atmosphere is warm with a crowded buzz. Highly recommend!

The food and service were good but not up to par with the prices they are charging. I do have to critique the cleanliness of the place, the floors were dirty, my chair seemed to have some grease stains, and the waitress placed my menu on a dirty table. If this restaurant is trying to be upscale, it needs to work on the details. Won't be coming back unfortunately.

With the name Merriman above the door and a location within a stone s throw of other Oahu culinary heavyweights I was confident this would be a great meal and was not disappointed. It was surprisingly easy to score a Saturday evening reservation and my party and I arrived an hour ahead to enjoy the bar. Everything there exceeded expectations and I ll be back for the incredible rye-based cocktail on offer. Dinner service was among the best on Oahu; the staff cares and works hard. All the food was on-point but a day later nothing stands out as a signature dish. And we tried a lot of them. Will definitely be back, but may stick to the happy hour.

The main store is the Hawaiian Waimea store Honolulu
Is it possible to go without a reservation on weekdays?

Parking is available at South Shore Market.
There is no valley.

Personally, appetizer doesn't feel special
It was a normal feeling.
The main amount is large for Japanese people.
The ingredients are locally produced and consumed, and the taste is relatively strong.
It was delicious.

Unpretentious
The atmosphere is good.
Out space might be good, too?
Server is also a nice staff
You can enjoy your meal!

There's a whole story
I wonder if I don't need it for a while (laughs)

Best restaurant in Oahu. Bryce and Nikki at the bar are amazing mixologists and offer superb service. Best Mai Tai in all of Hawaii. You won t go wrong. Very surprised that their ingredients were locally sourced. Also Timothy the pianist was extremely talented. The chefs are culinary experts and on point with all the courses. Will return the next time we visit Hawaii.

A slam dunk!!!

A slam dunk!!!

An eclectic menu that is gastronomically mind blowing. Best is to sample a multitude of items (if dining with a group).

Chef Merriman rules the roost in the area.

There is entertainment that truly knows how to quietly enthrall the crowd.

The service is tops. Courteous and engaging. You can question them extensively on the menu and they will suggest the best options.

Also, finish the meal with the French press Kona coffee - mind blowing.

Nice location if you want to wander around.

Nice location if you want to wander around.
This was a special occasion so we decided to splurge. This place is pricey, which normally would deter me. But, I like to splurge on a special occasion. When I do, I want to make sure it is worth it, because plenty of places in Hawaii will take your money and feed you garbage.

This place is worth your splurge. The menu is delicious, and creative.
I ordered the goat cheese Mac and cheese appetizer. Ive had great Mac but this was truly wonderful. I was stoked on the goat cheese already but what I was really impressed by was the pumpkin seeds and fennel on top. It was so different and gave it an entire new, and delicious flavor.

My boyfriend had the oysters, which they smoke, and actually bring to you still smoking, which is cool.
I had their lamb special, again so much flavor.

In addition, our server was super professional and polite. He described everything perfectly. The rest of the staff was also helpful with taking care of us.

I sat near their open kitchen, so naturally I was watching everything. Everything coming through looked delicious and everything just flowed so smoothly.

Oh! And the ambiance was great. Live music was lovely.
If only we could have a Merriman s this good on Kauai?

I've traveled the world and let me tell you- this place is world class. The management and staff are absolutely magnificent. The menu and the atmosphere go hand in hand. The location is nice. Just take your time finding parking and enjoy the stroll through the shopping area. Ask for the Bartenders Ella and Mandy!!! They're sweethearts! Cheers and Namaste.

High class restaurant with a live singer playing soft melodies in the background as you dine. As you can see from the menu, it's definitely a place you splurge at. Regardless, it was delicious! Loved that there are a lot of lobsters in the "pot pie" and it had a tons of scallops too!

Service is great, drinks are awesome, but food was a little bit of a let down. I feel that the onion soup could use a bit more broth but it was still pretty good. Ceviche could have used a lot more salt and lime, this was lacking seasoning and flavor. I ordered the cavatelli pasta, this was pretty heavy on the oil for my liking.
