Great place. Service is good. Food is good. Large open patio allows for 'al fresco' dinning, and at dusk in april it was a big hit. The pizza is good. The lamb good. Well worth to get off I10.

Great food and great service. Place was busy but we were able to call ahead and have a table ready when we arrived. Complimentary fruit cup given to my kids and coffee to my husband. Place was adorable and menu was interesting. Definitely a place we will return to on our next trip through town.

My son and I were traveling through the area and were looking for a place to eat. Luckily we noticed that this building was a restaurant and decided to stop, very glad we did. We both had the chicken fried steak sandwich, it was excellent. Great steak fries as well, sweet tea was just right. We'll definitely be coming back.

This is what I had at TGC: Portobello mushroom appetizer, Creamy Tomato Basil Soup, Asian side salad, and the most divine chocolate cake with pieces of cheesecake and vanilla whipped cream.
If that [mostly] objective description wasn t enough to entice your taste buds, let me be frank: the food was incredible. The balsamic vinaigrette on the appetizer was mind blowing, especially when paired with the greens (quality dark, leafy, & flavorful greens like arugula I might add). The soup was a nice balance of creamy and acidic. The side salad was really impressive- it s far more effort than you d usually see go into a side salad. And the dessert...oh man that dessert. The server brought out a visual menu - a tray with real versions of each dessert option to choose from. Honestly, I would ve been fine paying more than the actual price for that hunk of heaven on a plate. Size was generous as well.
To sum it up, I appreciated how each component of each meal was well thought out; everything on the plate was important to each bite of food. Go!

This unexpected gem in rural Texas (along an endless stretch of I-10) was a Giant thrill the food, the service, the ambiance, the decor WOW! Sophisticated, yet down-to-earth, with old-fashioned hospitality from the very cordial owner, and wonderful food. The decor is right up my wife s alley so she took way too many pictures and thoroughly enjoyed herself and a delicious Moscato too. I had one of the best burgers Ever and my Sweetie had the chicken wraps. She ended up sharing a bit with me and they were super tasty (at least as good as PF Chang s if you re a fan). Unfortunately we got there too late to tour the garden center and gift shop, so plan ahead if you can to have enough time to check the whole place out. If the rest of it is anything like the restaurant, you will Not be disappointed. This place is one of those gems that make I-10 worth suffering through it would fit right in in any college town USA but chooses to remain gift to food-loving, gorgeous decor-appreciating long-empty-highway-through-Texas travelers. Can t thank you enough, Garden Co!

This is the best place I've been to in gears! We went in a larger group so I was able to try many dishes and everything was amazing! The hamburger was so flavorful I am still wondering what their secret is- like if it's grass fed or organic or what! Their grilled chicken, cheese pizza, blt, salads, etc all were mind blowing! The service was great- we were seated immediately despite having a larger group and it being lunchtime (there was a couple smaller groups waiting but not for long) they were busy but not under staffed so the time from order to service was decent. Our waitress forgot one of our orders but told us, apologized and got it out asap, which didn't take that much longer. This was a fantastic place! I had 3 children 10 and under with me and they cleaned their plates which NEVER happens. The decor was cool and interesting to look at and talk about. The prices are perfect for the quality you're getting. We didn't have time for dessert but we saw several tables around us getting desserts (some just beverages and dessert!) so I'm guessing they're really good as well! I can't wait to go back even though I live an hour away. I'm sure it will be soon!

This is by far the BEST restaurant in a 100 mile radius. It is upscale but worth every cent. Their chef has obviously been trained in fine cuisine because the food speaks for itself. Our party had the ribeye, rack of lamb, hangar steak salad, wood fire grilled pizzas, baked brie, grilled brussel sprouts and everything was truly exceptional. Proportions are plenty for one person with some left to take home because you'll want to do that! This is a 5 star restaurant in a tiny town that can surpass the best of them in the big city.

Great food, friendly service. The atmosphere is very chic, casual, and comfortable. There's a good but not overwhelming variety of delicious menu options. I got the beet salad (pictured, $12)--it was great. The staff were incredibly kind and it was a lot of fun to stop by the garden area afterwards, where they seem to have a great selection at reasonable prices. Highly recommend.

Service was fast and friendly, nearly perfect honestly. The food is amazing, Korean street tacos for appetizer were just wow. I did a wood fired pizza and it was the best I've had in many years. Those with me did a burger and chicken fried steak and we're not sure who had the best meal as it was all wonderful. I will absolutely be coming back

My wife and I happened to be driving through and saw this absolutely stunning establishment. When we walked in we continued to be blown away by the amazing farmhouse / rustic style decor... And then the food happened.. WOW... We started with the jalapeno bacon grilled chicken bites and then followed it up a grilled salmon cesear salad and the Farmer Fred and they can both be described as an EXPLOSION of flavor made possibly by impeccable service! Highly highly recommend.

We had the escargot, grilled portabella, and wilted spinach salad. The food is excellent. It was my second visit and we got the same thing as we did the first time. I would highly recommend the garden co. to anyone looking for something different than the usual lunch fare. Next time I'm going for the Reuben.

What a terrific and surprising find. Great decor and I wish I could make my house smell like this. This place makes the tragic drive from Dallas to Corpus actually bearable. I wish we had this in Dallas.

It's a must have! We were only in town two nights and ate there twice. Had the steak salad, Portobella mushroom appetizer, strawberry salad, country fried steak, and our son had the chicken strips. We finished with a almond joy pie. EVERYTHING was delicious. Service was good. It's a cute house and garden. I will eat here every time I'm in town.

What an amazing find!!! I met up with a friend from Houston and Schulenberg was our halfway point. We were totally delighted with everything we ordered - Korean mini street tacos, salmon salad and key lime pie. We also saw the other plates ordered nearby and they all looked pretty incredible! The restaurant itself is just charming. Our service was great. We will definitely be coming back again to try more of the menu.

What a pleasure to meet such kind people on our trip. We were exhausted and needed a healthy bite to take the rest of the trip. They gave us all drinks while we waited for our Togo order. Offered an alternative traveling route and most of all smiling faces. It is an adorable plant shop (was closed but they still let me buy a few succulents) and a really good restaurants with farm to table food. We had a pizza and a salad. Both were remarkable. Definitely worth the five minute detour off the freeway!!!

Delightful Surprise! Relaxing ambiance and wow, was the food good! We ordered side salads (creative, fresh, bursts of flavor) and bleu cheese burgers. The meat had outstanding flavor! We celebrated a special event with bubbly Prosecco. Must return to try their desserts! The staff and owner, Jeff, couldn t have made us feel more welcome, and added to the joy of our special day. Don t miss this verdant treasure in Schulenberg!

Food was delicious. However bill was over the top. While trying to decide what to eat the waitress approached us and offered their specialty for today " Chicken fried steak", not on menu. We get the bill $67.09 and no tip. We do not get out very often, but wow. Did not want to say anything they were expecting more people, so make sure for SPECIALTIES, as for special pricing. lesson learned.

What a treat to find this delicious restaurant in Schulenburg, Texas! Reservations highly suggested. The menu is more along the lines of something that you would find in a very upscale restaurant in Dallas, Austin, or in the Heights in Houston. Delicious food, served with a smile and a great appreciation. Generous wine servings, mimosas, and craft beers. The menu will please meet eaters, vegan, vegetarian, and kids! Comfortable surroundings, great food, small-town atmosphere, how can you go wrong? See for yourself and enjoy! By the way, the homemade Italian cream cake is worth every single calorie! Absolutely phenomenal.

I met a friend of mine in the middle of our two homes (hers in San Antonio and mine in Houston). We checked out this cute little place and were both so pleasantly surprised! The food was delicious and fresh and the service was exactly what you expect in southern hospitality. I tried the bacon wrapped jalapenos with chicken, pork tenderloin, stuffed mushrooms, and brie cheese appetizer. All were absolutely fantastic! I will be planning my trips around this pit-stop from now on!

Loved it!
