I originally walked into Blackfoot Motorsports looking for a 2019 Triumph Street Twin but it turned out they didn t have any left in stock.
Met Miles Cantafio, the sales specialist for Ducati and chatted with him for a while about the type of bike I m looking for, type of riding I want to do, differences between the bikes on the floor etc.
Miles blew my mind with his knowledge on bikes and just how I was treated more like a buddy than an easy sale.
Great buying experience all the way through. If anybody is looking for an upgrade or that first bike, just go have a chat with Miles about motorcycles and you can talk about bikes with him for hours if you wanted. None of that classic salesman BS (You knows the ones).
I have to add that Dave Smith, the business manager was awesome to deal with as well. Had some good laughs and made the not so fun part pretty entertaining to say the least.
In the end, I walked out with a 2019 Ducati Scrambler Icon and WOW....What an amazing machine!!! Exactly what I wanted in EVERY way.

Always great service from the guys there, educated opinions supported by facts when purchasing a new or used bike, or even just when getting parts.

Some places will push you to buy parts you don't need and/or don't care if you're tracking down the wrong trail during your diagnostics, and I always go to Robert in parts because he will almost always ask why I need a part and gives me an educated opinion on what else I may or may not need and what to check for when installing it.

I've put five stars because customer service is key to any business, especially from a consumers' point of view.

I am going to start of by saying Doug was absolutely amazing, the fact the first time I walked in he just so happened to be out on the floor and I asked him not to be biased or sell me on something I don't need...long story short he got me into my first brand new 2016 Aprilia rsv4RF. After that two years later and a great start I had the pleasure of purchasing a second Aprilia (RSV4RF-LE) due to my first experience out the gate. However each experience is different, I have to say a BIG thanks to Dorian (who not only saved me a TON of money by keeping me in the loop for things like a tent sale that saved me hundreds of dollars on gear for my girl. But also making sure my knowledge and bike is always taken care of) Next would be Jay in service and the gentleman that is the service manager I believe for making sure my parts, questions and concerns were not only addressed but taken care of in the right direction. Lastly there is a girl in accessories that put up with me and my girl spamming her for product and safety info that not only answered all the inquiries, but did it with compassion and a positive attitude haha. Overall I know everyone will comment solei on "bad experiences" or "one offs". I must say that I have spent almost 100K in the last 4 years at this place, and even today a guy in accessories got me a new sena headset for my helmet, not only did he price match, he installed it for no charge! I cannot say anything negative, because even when they made a mistake, which they did on my frame sliders on my second bike. They went over and above to make sure I wouldn't second guess a mistake. Thank you guys (and gals) for everything and I look forward to more interactions going forward!

I have To thank Ron at Blackfoot Motosports for making my new bike purchase very easy and smooth also to Linley for taking care of me with finances. The whole experience went super smooth and although I have known Ron Newman for a long time, this was my first new bike purchase and I couldn t be happier. Price was competitive and Blackfoot is a first class facility.

Had an issue with a fork air bleeder on a dual sport I purchased privately. My issue was repaired within 10 minutes. Everyone at Blackfoot was great to deal with.

Thanks shop foreman Jeff and everyone else.

The gang at Blackfoot are awesome. Simon in sales is knowledgeable and great to deal with. Always follows up on questions and concerns. Definite asset to the business. Recently the service department squeezed me in on a quick ride through Calgary. Greatly appreciated. See ya soon. I need a new lid.

I bought a bike from Wone at Blackfoot motorsports this week and couldn t be happier with how things went! This is a knowledgeable bike guy, easy to see he loves the sport and helping people enjoy it to the fullest. He had the bike ready for pick up before the target date, clean and full of fuel! Linley was helping me with the finance part of the process and and was awesome with making sure things were smooth and understandable for me. I would definitely recommend using Wone for any Motorsport purchases. Thanks again team Blackfoot!

Phone staff rude and unhelpful - at 10:00 a.m. on a weekday, said no one in accessories was available to take my call, but they could call back within 24 hours. I explained that I was on the road, on a motorcycle trip with broken gear, so would need a call back within an hour, with the intention of making a substantial purchase as we would be overnighting that same day in Calgary before continuing on. Nope, call back within 24 hours - no exception. Didn t even find out what product I was looking for. After that, I would rather continue on with broken communication gear, than spend a dime at this place.

I don't deal with very many of the staff at Blackfoot but there are a few stand outs. Mike and Rowan on the accessories counter are both great to deal with, very helpful and really know their stuff. I've been happy with my interactions with Matt on the parts counter as well. He's clearly an avid rider and seems genuinely interesting in getting you set-up with the best parts for your needs.

My KTM spent a ton of time in service with warranty repairs and Jeff M was awesome to work with. Having your one and only bike in pieces during our short riding season is stressful but Jeff and the guys always got it back out the door to me in good time, did a great job explaining what was going on with the bike, with the warranty claim etc.

Thanks for your hard work guys!

Robert Goyer, Commercial Parts SuperManager... If all parts-persons nowadays could take a lesson or two from this man on service to the client/customer, I am certain we would all have better experiences with parts departments. There are few like him and his manner, professionalism, facts, and delivery of what he says is very rare. Just Excellent!~!

Cool selection of bikes, some employees are very helpful and knowledgeable (mostly in the sales department) but everywhere else its full on BS. In the parts section nobody seems to know what they're doing, they're often rude, and when they make mistakes like ordering in the wrong parts which has happened both of the two times I used them!! They make me feel as though them screwing up is my fault and when I go to return things they charge me a 20% restocking fee. most difficult and unknowledgeable motorcycle shop I have ever set foot in. If you can go somewhere else its probably a good idea to do it.

These guys did a fantastic job helping me pick out my first bike and making sure I was going to love it for a long time. Big shout out to Dani and Harsh for being patient through the whole process and putting up with me! They not only found me a bike I'm super proud of and excited to ride but also got me financed at a rate I was more then happy with! Solid 7/7 would recommend. If you need anything at all go see these 2! These guys are the cats pyjamas hands down. Thanks for everything!

I just finished a day of GS Training with Tobias and Simon from Blackfoot Motorsports. I wanted to take the course to learn some of the basics of off road adventure riding and gain some experience.
Tobias and Simon instructed the course, held at the Wild Rose Motocross Track near the store. Both were very good at teaching and guiding our group of riders of varying experience, ages and bikes. I got a lot more out of the course than I thought I might.
They covered a wide gamut of bike handling skill from clutch control, to body positioning, cornering, hill climbing, braking, and many others skills and safety techniques.
It was a full day of on and off bike training, which increased both our skills and confidence. We could all see the improvement in one another from the beginning of the day to the end.
If anyone wants to learn the proper way too safely handle an adventure bike off roads, take this course as it will surly help build on your skills and even teach you things you did not know.

The staff were incredibly helpful. In particular Simon, the guy helping us, had great knowledge and gave great advice to fit my needs. Although I wasn't quite ready to buy, I'll be heading to Blackfoot when I am that's for sure.

Hi all, I don't know if you have been here but I'm born in Calgary and we are always at North stores for bike parts etc. That changed today. The whole team but especially Mike Becker ; who spent so much time with us as well as being so sincere and we only spent 20 bucks felt like we spent 20k. What a great place to go everyone !!! Even with times like these downturn hold on Alberta - I love that store and those guys. Thanks Mike and team !!! Glenn

HUGE shoutout to Simon A. with the sales team at Blackfoot. I m super picky and went from Edmonton to Lethbridge looking for that right guy to buy from who I was comfortable with and who I knew would pick up the phone if I had questions. Simon, even though he s part of the BMW team at Blackfoot had no issues knowing every brand on the floor and didn t push any product specifically but gave me the knowledge I needed to make the right choice for me. Hey Simon!! You re motorcycling passion is showing again!!
I ve bought several bikes from him now for me and family members and know that when it s time to switch up again or add a few dirt bikes for the kids, he ll be there, very capable and willing to help in whatever way I need. He s the kinda guy you WANT to call before you get there to see if he wants Timmies on the way!! All of the guys at Blackfoot are good, but Simon Definetly stands out for me. CHEERS MATE!

Wow, I can not say enough great things about Simon at Blackfoot. Right from the start he helped me order my 2020 BMW S1000RR from Germany. We had some challenges along the way with Covid. Simon was always available to me for anything I needed for the bike, even on his time off. He even picked me up at the airport and delivered my bike to me on a Sunday on his own time. Without his help I probably would not be riding my bike already. I would definitely recommend Simon at Blackfoot if you are looking for someone who goes above and beyond.

Excellent customer service, the person helping me was Wone K. Yip. if you are ever looking to purchase a bike whether new or preowned this is the person you want to speak with as he is very knowledgeable, respectful and goes above and beyond to help you.

I've been a regular customer since 2011 and have bought multiple bikes, parts / accessories & general consumables throughout the years. Your enthusiastic staff members always seem to roll out the 'red carpet' for me whenever I visit. If I had to pick one outstanding member right now, it's most definitely Scott Furlong!

They must pay these guys okay because the sales/service guys aren't pushy at all. Bought a few parts and a couple batteries over the years for my VStrom.

I just took my bike for a service, and they nailed all the things it needed, and didn't sell me things I didn't need. If the boss reads this, your staff's integrity is a large part of this five star rating. Would recommend this business unconditionally.

Bought my 2018 BMW GT1600 from Simon. Have nothing but positives to say about the buying experience, especially the patience Simon had as I changed my mind several times. I never felt pressured to make a decision and he was able to address any questions I had on the various bikes I was looking at. Thanks Simon!

Over the past two riding seasons I was seriously considering buying a $1300 (Schuberth C3 Pro helmet + C3 communications system) from Blackfoot Motosports in Calgary; on three separate occasions I stood and waited FOREVER (Minimum 30 minutes and even up to an hour) to receive any help whatsoever, when I did it felt as if the help did not have much enthusiasm to help me and was constantly interrupted...

It seemed the whole organization works this way: Not much help in other departments with staff running off their feet and not very good phone support either...

Unfortunately they are the only Schuberth authorised dealer in Calgary that I could find...

Not impressed...

We deal regularly with Robert in Commercial sales at Blackfoot. We couldn't be more pleased with his efficiency, friendliness and attention-to-detail. He always goes above and beyond to make sure we get the info. or products we need, could never say enough good things about him or the commercial sales dept.!

These guys wrote the book on customer satisfaction. Absolutely couldn't be better.

I live in Southern Ontario. I bought my Triumph Trophy working with Simon in sales over the phone/fax/email, which was as smooth as could be. I flew into Calgary airport and Simon picked me up in his personal vehicle and drove me to the shop. Paperwork, inspection, etc. was super easy and done in a couple of hours, all very friendly and professional.

I left Calgary on the bike and headed into BC. Upon reaching Radium Hot Springs the bike wouldn't start. Simon responded immediately to texts and did the best he could with remote diagnostics on a Sunday night - no luck. Monday morning - on Labour Day, mind you - Sales Manager Jason called me and arranged to send a truck to pick up me and the bike and haul us back through the mountains to Calgary (thanks Juan!) Blackfoot put me up in a good hotel in Calgary that night.

It took a day and a bit of work to get the bike fixed. There were fuel injector issues. I got it back into my hands on Wednesday about 11 AM. The bill for all this? $0.

Over the 2 days I was driven around Calgary, updated constantly on progress, etc.

I immediately rode the bike from Calgary back to Southern Ontario with no problems whatsoever.

When it's time for a new bike I know where I'll be going. Thanks guys!

Parts/ new sales department has always been super helpful!
So this review is only for service - needed help pressing out ball joints on our quad and did not buy the parts from Blackfoot - ( for once)
Unfortunately even though we stated we weren't expecting a free service/ nor warranty, they declined.
not happy with the answers or the attitude
What if someone brought you a bike to work on that you didn't sell them?

Good morning Ron,

Good morning Ron,

The XSR900 is only FANTASTIC so far!

I've only ridden 130km mind you, but first impressions are that the drive train is smooth with minimal vibration transferred to the rider at highway speed. Power is crisp but easy to modulate on the throttle with good low end response, and shifting is also crisp and precise. The bike is more than willing to run through the revs and it takes discipline to mind the 5600 rpm limit for the break in period! Already I get the impression it will have no problem producing butterflies under acceleration when the initial run in process is complete. Slow speed handling is confidence inspiring too. Running through a slow slalom the bike is easy to balance and the steering is light but easy to control, partly due to the handle bar width I suspect. As speed picks up, a slight shift of weight in the direction you want to go encourages the turn and the bike follows mellifluously. I'm looking forward to cleaner roads and bigger lean angles.

I like the more upright riding position, compared to my '93 VFR, there is less pressure on my construction weary shoulders, and riding two up with my 12 year old son is more comfortable for both of us. The ride is firm, probably the biggest difference for me since I have been riding an older bike for so long, so with a passenger the bike feels way more confident, especially in the corners. I will likely play with the adjustable suspension in the future once I've had more time in the saddle to decide if on longer trips a softer ride might be better.
Anyway, suffice to say that considering the time I spent looking at so many different bikes over the last few years to decide what my next ride would be, so far, the XSR 900 is more than fitting the bill. There is something to be said for delayed gratification!

Kudos to Gavin for his product knowledge and enthusiasm at the Calgary Motorbike show. That went a long way to influencing my decision to put down the deposit at the show, and I'm glad that I did! Thanks also to yourself, Cynthia in the business office and Mark for the professional and personalized service at delivery.

All the best,
Robin

I have been going to Blackfoot since 2000. Sometimes a few bad experiences but overall positive. I've bought 2 new bikes from them and likely soon a third.

Lots of stock, lots of manufacturers and lots of parts and bits.

Service department also pretty decent. I've been mostly impressed with them and will continue my business at Blackfoot.

Edit: Bought my third - thanks Ron for making the trade in and purchase so easy. Always a pleasure.

As a semi-famous celebrity of the greater Calgary area I sometimes need to get out of places in a jiff. Blackfoot Motorsports helped me to get a ride that is safe, reliable and speedy...not to mention that I look super cute on it. Brett Clay did an amazing job helping me find all the parts and accessories that I needed to ensure safety was a top priority!

I had some questions about ordering some riding gear online. So I phoned and was able to speak to someone right away. I was provided with prompt, knowledgeable service from Lorne. He was fantastic! He was able to help me with all my question about the various gear and the ordering process. Wow! I have purchased many things in my life and it has never gone this smoothly.

In March I bought a 2019 Triumph Tiger 1200 from Dave B (no longer there) and must say that it was an wonderful experience to deal with Dave, the only reason they even get 1 star. I picked the bike up at the end of May to ride back home (800 km away) and north of Fox Creek AB a damn deer ran into the side of me. So after the accident I tried 4 different times in June and July to contact Blackfoot but no one ever replied to me (as I found out Dave had left the company).

Finally in Aug I was able to make an appointment to bring the bike back for an inspection to see what parts I needed for repairs. I figured $5000-7000 in damages, headlight, rad, tank plastics and a few other items. I asked the dealership to call me when they were done with the inspection so that I could leave the city fairly early as I would have to drive all day back north. So the next day I arrived at noon and they tell me $24,000+ in damages. As they listed items like foot pegs, the front wheel assy and other items which were just fine but just had a bit of paint missing due to road rash I then asked if the frame was listed which the service writer said yes. I asked for them to show me where the damage to the frame was and they couldn't show me damage on the frame. So they wrote my bike off basically hoping that I would go and talk to a salesperson I guess.

I no longer trust this dealership and will be informing Triumph about their actions. They were very happy to take my money for the bike but after that, nothing but disappointment with this dealership.

**UPDATE** A Service Manager did contact me after the google review to see if the relationship could be mended. After reading the Owner's reply I don't know why they keep thinking that insurance was involved with this as I repeatedly told them that I was covering the cost of repairs since insurance wasn't. Even after a 38 minute phone conversation with a Service Manager they still don't listen to what you tell them I guess.

Blackfoot motorsports is hands down the BEST bike shop in all of SE Calgary. When I came in, Cole Kussman from the parts department was quick to assist me with any questions I had. He was very polite and professional throughout my entire experience there. I was very pleased with the quality of service both Cole and Blackfoot Motorsports provided and will most definitely be coming back and recommending this shop to my friends. 10/10

Watch the "Fine Print". The price as marked does not include the "fee's and taxes". Not until paying for my bike did they slip the 50.00 freight fee in. Just a money grab, freight is the cost of doing business and should be included in the ADVERTISED price, taxes i can understand.

Extremely poor policies for handling parts returns. Plenty of people to help buy but only one person can do returns and if they are unavailable then you are outta luck. I left without being able to return my parts... I'm guessing that is great for them.

We went in last week to outfit my husband in gear to safely ride his new motorcycle. Miles was nothing but helpful. He was honest and gave great advice, explaining why each piece was important and outlined all safety features/differences. He asked the right questions so that we know the gear is the right fit/model. I feel good about my husband being "out on the open road". My husband is very pleased, all the gear is comfortable and suits his needs well. We would recommend this shop and Miles as a sales guy, without hesitation.

Just bought a new F700GS and Mike Becker and Dave went out of their way to hook me up with all the accessories I need. Dave called around to make sure I got the BEST price on hand guards, and sent me to the competition who had a better price (only because the competition forgot to update their website, otherwise the prices were the same). And who said Blackfoot prices are higher? The BMW Vario bags were cheaper here than anywhere else, and Mike keyed them for me on the spot at no charge! Between Mike and Dave, I spent at least 4 hours looking at parts, and these guys were patient, excited for me and offered awesome advice to make sure I walked away happy. I highly recommend Blackfoot, and if you need parts - talk to Dave or Mike. (Although all the staff are awesome, Ray, Kevin, Eric, Joe - these guys know their stuff, don't use pressure tactics and always share my enthusiasm.) Thanks so much for making me a happy customer every time I leave your store.

Writing the review not about the store but their website, been trying to make a purchase online for the past month. It crashes everytime and giving errors, somebody needs to do a better job on the making the website actually work so for people who doesn't have time to go to the store to be able to shop online.

Very understanding! I Had a 2k deposit down on a Vstrom. Long story short.. its my dream bike and I had been waiting a long time to finally make that purchase, but just after I put the money down, my Mom got diagnosed with breast cancer and I needed the money back to travel to see her, so I went to talk to the staff and even though I had signed a document that clearly stated my deposit was non-refundable the staff and manager at Blackfoot had compassion and fully refunded my deposit!! I understand my circumstances were out of the ordinary but all I can say is that Blackfoot has gained a customer for life and I will using them for all my motorcycle needs from here on out. Thank again guys! you made a huge difference!!!

Ive been coming to blackfoot motosports ever since I was a kid, Always wanted to buy a nice new bike, well I finally was able to afford a new Bike this last week and I ended up getting the KTM 790 duke for a great deal. everything about this experience of buying a motorcyle here at black foot motosports was A+++ I would highly recommend any moto purchase through these guys. Tyler and I believe it was john helped me out with trying to get financing (my credit is bad, ended up just paying cash) great experience with the purchase, I also ended up buying a full set of gear, and although it was insanely busy while trying to pick out the proper set of gear paul (i think that was his name haha im bad with names) did a great job helping me get everything I need. I ended up with the tech air alpine stars airbag jacket with airbag and I couldnt get it registered at purchase but the guy at the gear counter called me back a couple days later and it was all sorted out. great job guys, I couldnt be happier.

P.s. The duke 790 was the absolute perfect bike for me. thanks again.

Just wanted to give some posative feedback about the service department at Blackfoot. I was in today getting some recall work done on my bike. The day before my appointment I had noticed a knarly noise coming from my bike that to me sounded to me like it was coming from the engine, so when I brought the bike in I asked if the service guys could try to find what was causing the noise on top of the already scheduled service I had booked. To my surprise the awesome guys in the service department were able to find the problem (which took some time) fix it and do the recall work, on short notice. I also have to add that I did not purchase the bike there and was still provided with fantastic service.
Thanks again Blackfoot service department.

Odd I just noticed my review was "flagged and only visible to me" Don't know why as it meets the guidelines. I will repost. Funny ,when I had poor service from the service and parts department a few years back I called the manager to sort out the issue. He never once called me back even though I left a few messages. Yet on here when everyone can see they want to help right away..I Will not buy a single thing from this place again. Calgary is not a one shop store, I'll spend my money elsewhere.

Could not be happier with the service I received. I live an hour away from the store so phoning was the best option for me. I spoke to Mike Becker in the parts department and explained I needed all the individual parts for a full small engine rebuild. All other local motor sports stores were very unhelpful and told me the parts were no longer made since the engine is 20 years old. Mike not only greeted me very friendly, he also made me feel like an important customer. His database did not come up with the parts I needed, so he went even further as to search the net and track down every last part I needed, and cross reference part numbers. After they were ordered, he was quick to happily answer my phone calls as to the status of my order. He called me as soon as the parts were in, and I drove down with my old parts for reference. He took the time to match up every new part with the old ones, and every last part was correct. As a mechanic, I have been buying parts for years, and rarely get parts correct the first time. Mike did not let me down, he was very friendly and extremely helpful, and I could not be more happy with my experience there. He will be the one and only parts guy I will go to for motorsports parts from now on.

Experienced and knowledgeable staff helped me through the entire process of buying my first motorcycle. Financing was pain free and done transparently and quickly. The sales team member, Harsh, who was working with me was super friendly and really made the entire experience special! 10/10 recommend Blackfoot Moto!
