The full review is on their facebook page, but I am character limited here.
Let me announce loudly that I am not a mechanic. If I was a mechanic, I would haven't have pay someone to work on my bike. I'm very open about this fact when talking to mechanics that I go to. I have to trust them.

I took my bike in for a squeal that was happening when under load. If up on the jack there was no squeal. So I booked it into Blackfoot service. They took a look at it and diagnosed it as the splines on the input shaft as wearing down.
Blackfoot offered me 2 options. Option 1 was the by the book repair which was to break the engine open and replace the shaft. Option 2 was the not by the book repair which was to weld the pully to the shaft. Option 1 would take about 2 full days of shop time. Option 2 would take about 3 hours. They further pushed me towards option 2 as they said they expected it to be a permanent fix (as in, it should last longer then the bike has left in it's life). They did give me the caveat that once done, it's permanent. If i ever want to change the pully or shaft, it's the full time in the shop then. There is no going back.

They told me option 2 was a good option. They told me it should only take 1 hour on the welders bench to get done. I trust them that it's a good option. I approve option 2. The bike goes off to the welder.

I finally get the bike back but no time for a shakedown ride. The time frame between getting the bike and leaving is too short.
I leave for Nelson and everything seems good. Until about 1/2 way there, it starts to act a little off. It doesn't seem to bad, so I keep riding and head up into the last round of mountains before Nelson. The bike starts making a loud squealing sound. I start losing power. The noise is getting so loud that the rider behind me starts moving closer then further away to make sure it's not his bike making the noise. (Hint: it wasn't).

I start slowing down and the bike stalls. I got the clutch in before the back wheel locked and pulled over (still raining). I try to move forward and the bike stalls again. It's dead. I call a tow truck.
One of my riding buddies knows people at Blackfoot so he starts making calls on my behalf. One of the sales guys from Blackfoot was also at the hotel so he starts making calls. At his suggestion we take the side cover off. Here is what we find:

imgurDOTcom/a/RmjNz shows everything.

At this point, the bike is opened up and we have confirmed it's dead. With it open, I go to move the bike to a part of the parking lot where it's out of the way and the front pulley falls off. The part they had welded fell off. After it had tried to drill itself through the side cover.

This doesn't explain why I'm writing this. It's how Blackfoot reacted when I told them this had happened. Not their fault, not their problem. I was on my own to get it to Calgary and to fix it. It was a bandage they said, one with no guarantee to work at all.

I have some issues with this obviously. 1) They said it should last longer then the bikes expected life span. It lasted less then a single day of riding, and less then 500 Km before failing. 2) Nothing on the paperwork said no warranty, that it was a bandage. 3) They knew I'm not a mechanic. It it was not a valid and safe option, why were they presenting it in the first place? 4) I'm at a motorcycle rally and everyone there who expressed an opinion about the work said it should never have been done that way.

So now I have a dead bike. And Blackfoot is refusing to stand by their work.

Had some parts custom ordered from here and they got to me in time. Also had a few test rides done at this location and there was no sales pressure for me to buy anything. Staff was friendly and has a solid understanding of the bikes and gear

Bought a couple of KTMs motocross bikes from Ron N. at Blackfoot.. The entire process was awesome and it had to be because I live in Edmonton and came to Calgary to do the deal. None of the Edmonton dealers could deliver on the price like Blackfoot. It wasn't just the price that impressed me though. I appreciated the up-front, no BS deal and the good communication. I can't comment on the parts and services department because I have not used them and probably won't only because I live in Edmonton. It was a pleasure picking up the bikes. They were ready to go and Ron spent time making sure everything was delivered as expected. Friendly guys. The dealers I've bought bikes from in the past seem to treat you with very little respect - not at Blackfoot. Staff was great all around. Thanks guys!

OK I am editing my previous bad review. I needed some gloves and they had the ones I wanted so I thought I would go down there to check if things have changed since my first visit in 2013 where I got a bad impression. I can happily say they have.

It was really busy in there and it can be hard to get a sales representatives help, but in all fairness it was Saturday. All the sales reps I talked to were really friendly and the manager dealt with an angry customer professionally (he was angry because he had to wait in line and he was at the front of the line lol).

I bought a used Ducati Monster a couple days ago and didn't realize that Blackfoot Motors had taken over the Ducati name in Calgary. The gentleman upstairs overseeing the Ducati section was very friendly and I got a great vibe from him. I may be purchasing a Ducati leather jacket there in the near future.

I ended up leaving there with some Dainese gloves and an Ogio Mach 3 backpack and the guy helping with the gloves was really good to deal with as well. He gave me some suggestions for his favourite gloves and explained why.

I will definitely be doing business with Blackfoot Motors again (I will get them to service my Monster), but I will probably be going in on a weekday :)

I bought a 2012 Suzuki rmz 250-f brand new from Blackfoot Motorsports. Ron Newman was my salesman, and they don't come any more honest and helpful than Ron. i would not hesitate to send anybody to Ron.

I always have a positive experience here. I have bought two bikes here in the last year. My experience this year was especially great. The salesman Erik met with me each time I went there, he was knowledgeable, courteous, and patient. I spent a lot of time kicking tires on various types of bikes and he never once made me feel pressured to buy anything, just offered sage advice.

Now when I say those guys are awesome... I mean it!!
They were extremely helpful and got me suited up in some very nice Dainese riding gear!
They took the extra time to ensure I was getting what I needed.
I highly recommend this dealer! Friendly and energetic staff answered all my questions and gave me some great ideas for future purchases! I will be a repeat customer :)

Super helpful and friendly, never had an issue. Great pricing on bikes and service. Purchased a V7 Classic Guzzi a few yrs ago and unfortunately had to sell recently, the bike had some minor issues before I sold and Jeff, the shop-foreman, his crew and Danny the service scheduler went out of their way to squeeze me in and saved my butt. I'm rebuilding an older model Honda and Jeff even recommended some names to help me out. I will be a customer for life and tell everyone shopping for a bike to give Blackfoot a shot and judge for yourselves.

Stopped in today to buy some riding gear and was very disappointed with the service. Store wasn t too busy and there seemed to be lots of staff around but couldn t seem to get anyone to acknowledge me. I had a few questions but finally left without buying because of the lack of service.

Went in to Blackfoot looking for a helmet and started talking with Blaire. Ended up leaving with a new KTM. He knows his stuff and made buying a new bike an overall great experience. Love my bike. Thanks Blaire!

Great support and service from Simon. He helped me with my BMW purchase and was patient with my endless questions and waffling! They are there for ongoing support and I will continue to learn from these knowledgeable people. This is our third bike from Blackfoot. We have never been disappointed with their service, knowledge and support.

Honestly, the most exceptional service I received ...

Honestly, the most exceptional service I received - EVER. This is in no way exaggerated, I brought my bike for an insurance claim, and it was the only place to accept my bike in the city in the middle of the summer, whereas other places I am on a wait list of 2-3 weeks. They had someone come by with a bike trailer, and hauled it off for me, took care of all the insurance work, but that's not all, the reason why they were exceptional is for the work they did AFTER the insurance claim, I had a bad gas cap, and 2 mechanic spent literally 3 hours removing my seized gas cap, cleaned it, reconditioned it, and reinstalled it. The best part? They didn't even charge me a single cent for their labor. This service team is very qualified, and knowledgeable and helpful, they take the time to do the stuff right, and I saw them working in their shop (which unlike most shops are closed off to the customer), they are coordinated and organized and most importantly, they take pride in their work and it shows.

My best experienced ever at any mechanical shop, or really any service delivery location ever.

Keep up the good work, and I look forward to doing business here time and time again

I have purchased 3 bike from blackfoot, An R6, A WR 450 and a Fz07. I always joke with friends that they can treat you however they like because there is no where else to go. I have always felt looked down upon like your not in there elite motorcycle club when you go in and deal with people. The buying experience is great, of course like any dealer. However I found prices really high on gear and service. 3 stars is fair i think anyone who goes there will agree

I just purchased the 19' KTM 450 Factory editions ...

I just purchased the 19' KTM 450 Factory editions from Ron Newman at Blackfoot Motorsports for this upcoming season and there are a few points I d like to touch on with this experience. Ron has a passion for two wheels not just motocross but anything two wheels. He is very knowledgeable of two-wheel sports whether it s riding area for play or upcoming moto events to enter or be a spectator.
Ron isn t there to sell you a bike but help you get an experience that become as passionate as he is in the sport of two wheels. He willing wants to help you out if you need guidance from a large two-wheel community in the form of places to ride, clubs to ride with, or maybe even dipping into the racing scene? Ron has the knowledge to guide you.
It s also cool that whether you are buying parts or apparel the staff has a knowledgeable back ground of what you need for your application because they are all participants in a two-wheel lifestyle themselves.

Had a small issue with my GSA 1200 Tobi had a look and could give me an exact date when I would get my bike back being the shop is very busy this time of year... Tobi also knew my wife a I are planning to leave on a trip North.... well to my surprise we received a call 3 days after bring the bike in to the shop to come and pick it up ...WOW we are so happy that we can still keep our original plans ....Thanks again the entire Blackfoot experience every time we go in is way above most other establishments Thanks again Tobi and the rest of the BF staff...C&D

I ve had nothing but positive experience with Mike Becker from parts department. Bought my bike here few years back and any time i had a question he was my go to guy. I was there few months ago looking for part for my triumph and no one could find one. Than week ago I was buying brake oil and saw Mike is back so i stoped to see if he can help, when lo and behold he looked around made few phone calls and found extra part in the back.
Ive been coming to Blackfoot motorsports for long time and its guys like Mike that keep me loyal customer. As a business owner I value time and extra effort he puts in and I truly appreciate his knowledge and help.

Excellent customer service, much appreciated.

I bought a 2004 Aprilia RSV1000 from them in 2017....

I bought a 2004 Aprilia RSV1000 from them in 2017. It was a used bike, but had the blackfoot guarantee so I wasnt worried. However the day I picked it, I left the shop on it made my way up blackfoot trail and the engine started to bog. So I brought it back and they took it in and found a pinched fuel line. They replaced it and a day later I picked it back up and rode it back home with no apparent issues. The next time I rode the bike it was for a longer ride. But when the engine temp got above 90 degrees the idle would turn very rough and the bike would stall out at a stop. I took it back in and the mechanics did an inspection and decided the ECU mapping needed an update. I took their word for it and went for another ride after the fix. But the problem wasnt fixed. I again made it clear that the probelm wasnt fixed and the response I got was "its an old bike and they have issuses" and they wouldnt be doing anymore work on the bike as they have lost money on the sale at this point. I went on the aprilia forums and found quite quickly what the issue was. The stator and Regulator/Rectifier were toast and when the bike heats up they would fail and cause the rough idle and stalling issue. So I took the bike apart and pulled the stator (replaced with a new one) and the Reg/Rec (replaced with a new one) and now the bike doesnt have those issues. Will not be buying another used bike from them again, as their certified preowned wasn't very certified. I would rate one star, but their parts desk is very helpful! and the salesman was also very helpful.

Update 1:

It s been a couple of weeks now and haven t heard anything. The replacement parts I bought were from an online dealer as I was told your shop couldn t get Ricks Motorsport parts and they have the reg/rec and stator I needed.

Update 2:

I heard from the service manager (they had a different number on an old customer profile) and a resolution is in progress. Will update on that.

Update 3:

A resolution has been found. Appriciate the effort put in to help me out.

Reposting because the owner flagged the last one saying I had the wrong Blackfoot Motorsports, well there s only in one Calgary SE, and I know damn sure I have the right one but thanks for trying to hide the truth from your customers, the wording of your previous response just shows how much you don t actually care about your customers.

Overdue review. Typical sales experience, the sales assistants were great until they had my money, at which point nobody would answer my calls or respond to messages about the additional parts I had ordered with my ATV (winch, winch mount, etc.) - this went on for weeks. It took 7 more weeks to get my winch fitted to the quad. So there s the sales experience.

Now for service. These guys are completely incompetent. Let me elaborate. A couple of years after buying my quad, I drove in from near Cochrane to drop it off for the 100 hour service this includes valve adjustments, belt checks, etc. A few days later they called me saying it was ready to pick up, so I drove back in from Cochrane to pick it up only to find out they had only performed a 10 hour service (oil change only), so a waste of my time as I required the 100 hour service. So I left the quad with them for a few more days until they called confirming it was ready to pick up. I drove back in from Cochrane for the second time to pick up the ATV, and lo and behold they had only done the 10 hour service again! I couldn t believe it! I was pretty ticked off by that point, and the service guys knew it. So to try to save face, they offered to work on it on a Saturday morning and deliver it to me out near Cochrane. A nice touch but didn t make up for the incompetence.

I don't recommend and won't ever go back as a result of these experiences, and to the manager, I wish to remain anonymous so that is why you won t find the name associated with this review in your system.

Ask for HARSH!! He genuinely wants to do what's best for the customer. Gave me un biased opinions on the scrambler type bike from all makes, with pros and cons. He really knows his bikes, doesn't make up stuff as he goes. I work in car sales so trust me when i say i know a good salesman when i deal with one. At the end of it i ended up purchasing a Brand new Ducati scrambler, Love the bike and overall happy with the experience.

Came here two weeks ago for the very first time. As soon as I walked in we were greeted very politely. The guy in the front explained and pointed out the layout of the place which was awesome. Receptionist ladies were fantastic and friendly! I went upstairs in the pre owned area where I was eyeing on a certain bike. I got to talking to Michael in sales! He was really genuine to me specially having found out I have no ridding experience and his personality and patience with all my questions was excellent. I come back a week later and saw Michael long story short I purchased a bike from him! Feeling comfortable and confident with him from last weeks experience. Michael really gave me a great sales experience and customer service and I appreciated everything he did. Also I had a really great experience with Tabitha in finance thank you! Over all everyone I dealt with here was fantastic! Would defn come back and I would defn purchase another bike here!

Awesome group of people working here. Ron, one of the sales team was so informative and helpful, showing me the bikes in categories I'm searching for helping me weigh out my choices. I' feel like I can go back with any kind of question or concern and probably will drop in from time to time just to see so many beautiful bikes!

I had the best experience at Blackfoot. I've always been hesitant of bikes but it has always been something I have wanted to overcome. Michael and Taylor were such a great help. Michael helped me pick a bike I'm in love with and feel so safe on and happy with my purchase. Taylor spent quite a few hours with me going over safety gear and making sure I had the best stuff and felt safe and comfortable in it. I love riding now. I would tell anyone to go see these 2 for sure. Great job guys

If your looking for a bike I recommend you talk to Joe, great insight on the different styles of bikes they have in stock.

Buying a bike should be a pleasant experience but not in this case. Completed the online info page, completed the financing info page. Had 2 phone calls ( under 3 mins each )and one email about a particular bike and then it became clear this was not going to work. Salesmen said he didn't have time to song and dance with me while seemingly not acutely reading my concerns or questions or completing the mock bill of sale with the correct price information we agree upon. It seems he was more angry that I didn't sign his offer letter that he kept begging for that he neglected to even attach. Only then to request a reply from a manager along with photos of the bike because its now 3 emails and 2 phone calls apparently it has damage. Got the email from the manager now with the sales contract completed wrong and still no photo's. In the words of YOUR OWN SALES STAFF *** I don't have time for this song and dance with you, I guess either !!!!

Genuine staff that strive to make long-term client relationships vs. Short term money making deals like bowcycle. Ive never felt pushed or fed misleading advice from their knowledgeable sales staff. Excellent selection on dirt bikes best in Calgary for sure. Honest service in the shop too! So rare! Very fast and again, will treat your bike like their own. Seen it first hand. Trustworthy goes miles in that business. Would like to see sales insentives on gear though.

I've wanted a bike for quite some time and finally found exactly the one that checked all the boxes for me at Blackfoot. Simon helped me buy the thing and get it delivered. Andrew in the gear department really helped me out in picking the right stuff. They truly couldn't have been more helpful while I navigated through this entirely new experience. Thanks a lot gents!

This place could be the number one online bike part and accessory place in Canada if they had a decent website that you could actually find parts on or at least answered the phone now and then. Edit - while standing in line for parts I decided to call the main line. The person didn't even take her eyes off her cell phone when it rang. Shame.

My experience in Blackfoot from day one had exceeded all my expectations. The great customer service experience with Joe Brooks,l who lead by example to his Team down to the delivery guy who was very enthusiastic and detailed in explaining everything had made my experience more pleasant and memorable especially this is my first bike. No nonsense and very helpful towards my needs. Very patient with all requests I have asked, whether a simple quote he will provide and respond to you on time to a more complicated request, he will make sure he will have an honest answer.
Of course, before I even made the decision to purchase my first bike at Blackfoot I already went to the other renowned dealership in Calgary but this made an impact the most. What is important is the after sales, because most of the time in any dealership once they secure your business they already forgot about you
A few weeks ago after I got the bike I went back just to check some parts, and immediately I was surprised to a gentleman at the main lobby who approached me and had conversation as if we knew each other! This is customer service! - so impressed
With other dealership, you get lucky if you see someone welcoming you. Most of the time they're behind their desks! And you have to walk towards them to inquire.
I didn't buy because I have saved $ but I choose to purchase my first bike because of how professional and after sales and customer service they have. Cheers!

Blackfootmotosports is by far the best of the best. Our family spends a ton of time there are always welcomed with huge smiles and the best service around! We have 5 kids and Megan and Danika never fail to pull through with gearing them up. Even on short notice before an event. Megan has recently taken a lot of time with us ordering all our summer gear for our family, and even stayed after hours when we arrived 5 minutes before closing time, just to finish our order, and grab some stuff that we had ordered the week before. Our kids absolutely love the the girls in the moto apparel section and always get a fresh sticker from Megan when she gets some new ones. We honestly feel like a part of the blackfoot family and wont be shopping anywhere else thats for sure.
The parts guys are top notch as well, Casey goes above and beyond keeping us set up with all the parts we need and doesnt try and up sell us stuff, he will tell me straight up not to get something thats not needed. Thanks guys!! keep up the amazing work!!

Bought my Yamaha Bolt 950 R Spec off Blackfoot Motor Sports. Jason Mitchell is the most knowledgeable person I have ever met in the motorcycle industry. The service and response time is next level. I would definitely recommend Blackfoot Motor Sports to anyone in Canada looking at buying a bike. Thank you so much Blackfoot team and Jason Mitchell.

Today I visit the Blackfoot Motorsports to get the missing part for my Shuberth Helmet as I lost it while riding with it.

At helmet and gear counter there was a man and women who both helped me to get and install the missing part and answer few of my questions and 5 starts for that.

After that I visited the parts and service area and when my turn came up, I asked the young man few questions on recommended tools for my bike service.

He just look at his board behind him and not even able to bring it to me and show me few options. Other sales rep did notice that he didn t even tried. I did not see any motivation from him. For this 0 star.

I really feel very demotivated to buy any parts or get any service done for my bike here now. As my next question was to get an appointment for my bike service.

I will look else where for these service now.

I am just sharing my experience what just happend an hour ago.

I still do recommend to others to visit this place but if you encounter similar situations, do let manager know which I should have done so.

2 star just because of these 2 individuals helped me. Other wise zero.

I recently purchased a KTM Super Duke at Blackfoot. It was truly refreshing to experience a positive and passionate sales process. George, Tabitha and Dorian are all invested in their work and their customer skills shine through when dealing with any question you may have regarding your purchase. They are fine examples of people who are true assets to the Blackfoot organization.

I have dealt with Jordan B in parts numerous occasions and will continue to ask for his help, beyond knowledgeable and very polite / professional. Jordan has went out of his way to ensure assisting myself and girlfriend we had ordered correct parts and even offered advice on maintenance / service for preventative action in the future with our bikes. 5 STARS!

Nice store just a bit to big city for me. Some really nice people working there and a few I tried to avoid. Accessories were priced quite high. Ordered parts they failed to email or call when they arrived funny how that is when they want full payment up front! Works out good for them because service can slide down hill that way. Priced a factory part there called the Edmonton dealer and they were almost fifteen percent less money for the same part number. Shop around.
