Excellent mountain except for the fact that there is fog on most days
Nice light flurry powder snow! It can be real foggy some days.
A variety of terrain that can please all skiiers, excellent snow but the community is what makes this mountain stand out.
One of my favorite sku resorts so far. Small and accessible services everywhere. The mountain has some amazing runs.
Perfect mountain for new skiiers and families. The runs are incredible and the village is full of restaurants and activities for people of all ages. I do consider this the best family friendly mountain out there. If you are a very experienced heavy skier you may want to consider Whistler instead. The level and difficulty of the runs here are more intermediate.
Amazing terrain and great snow. The reason why it gets three stars...the "village" is horrible. This place does not work as an all season location, the amenities are so disjointed that you really do need to be on skis or a snowboard to get around. It's not walkable so I would not recommend it in the slightest for a family getaway. Go to the far superior Sun Peaks or maybe in Silver Star instead
With record snowfall last year, the mountain was amazing right up until closure in April (with people in T-Shirts and doing water skimming on Perfection on closing day. Memorable experience!
Very nice place. Would like to spend a couple of nights there
Had our kids in ski school and the instructors were great. Snow conditions, even in early season are amazing. Lines move quickly. Really like that night skiing is included in the life ticket prices as well.
From Seattle and so the drive to Banff is a little too far. Whistler is super expensive. Big White is none of those. about 7 hours door to door with bad weather and a pretty cheap ski n stay package. Stayed at the white crystal inn. literally could walk out the door and ski right down to the lift with no walking. Staff was very friendly and informative. There are a decent amount of restaurants as well. If you're looking for chutes and cliffs, go to whistler or revelstoke. But there are plenty of advanced lines and all of the greens and blues up by the tree line are a lot of fun too. Getting all the way to the far quad takes a while since the mountain is so wide but other than that the terrain is great. Plenty of options for those in the family who don't ski as well. Also for foreigners with no Canadian data there is a lot of free WiFi at the lodges which is a nice touch.
Awesome place. Worth the trip. Explore Kelowna too.
Great hill, lots of runs, best snow, and the best part... No Lineups!
A great resort for families. Fun and somewhat affordable.
Everything about this mountain is disorganized. From ticket buying, signing up for lessons to renting skates. Nobody could answer basic questions like "when will the ticket window be open?" Even when the window time was already supposed to be open. Stood in line for skate rentals, only to figure out that there were kiosks that needed to be signed into first. Another 15 mins wasted. There was no signage at all. The line up for the 6 person chair was chaotic and seemed very inefficient. The only experience that was smoothe was the gondola loading and unloading and that was left up to the public to load, no attendants. Our son hurt himself in the first run and we asked about getting a refund at least for a half day and they said that was not possible. Just go to Sun Peaks....everything was a gong show here
If I could give Big White Ski Resort more than 5 stars I would! We took our kids there over Christmas and everything was amazing. The village and all of the holiday festivities were wonderful for families, it was one of our best Christmas's. I would HIGHLY recommend this ski resort for anyone looking for a great ski vacation.
Best ski hill I've ever been to. I have a blast ever time I go. One of my favorite places to be. Amazing ski in ski out accommodations as well a huge variety of train to ride.
Looking out the window from the White Crystal Inn. Fantastic ski resort and mountain.
Incredible powder, beautiful scenery, not overwhelmed with skiers, and great spots to eat. We will be returning here for sure!
The instructors were so patient and thre view was spectacular!
Terrain park is awesome and more runs than you can ride in a day
If you are into snow then from the moment you arrive here it's what heaven looks like.
Grew up skiing here. This is my home sweet home mountain. Lots of variety in the terain and many lifts so line ups are never very long. And yes they do have champagne powder.
I was glad to see people walking their dogs in the village. It's nice to know that they are becoming more dog friendly with the accommodations.
Skiing is good, usually lots of powder. Road up to the resort could do with repair.
Great family resort with an awesome tube park and outdoor rink for skating and hockey. Tons of different Terrain for all types of skiers. I love it here!
The pow was pretty sick, but you probably won't like it. The calamari at the happy valley lodge bar was so small for 15$ I'm only giving one star.
Great ski resort for family and all levels of skiing ability.
We've been here multiple times. Every time the snow is good. Even if the terrain is not always challenging, we have tons of fun skiing in the trees. Most of the lodging is ski in ski out, village center is car free, good bars, ice skating, tubing... Love all. OK, sometime it's foggy but when it's not, the views are spectacular. We'll come again. And again. And again.
Great family ski resort. It seems all resort staff are Australian so it lacks some Canadian charm but a great place to ski - under an hour from kelowna
Wonderful sunny day spent hiking . Breathtaking views. Open and safe environment and friendly staff.
Love the snow!
And now the summer season is great fun too!
Great resort vibe, be sure to get to Globe Tapas and BlCk Diamond Steakhouse for fab food & wine!
One of my favourite ski hills. Tons of runs, fresh snow and good weather. Always have a blast
Excellent snow, atmosphere, people, very family friendly.
Beautiful rustic place in perfect location right in middle of the village
Great Resort. Friendly staff. Good equip. Fun spot.
This place is amazing, and absolutely beautiful! The powder alone is worth the trip. Everything you need is on the hill, very well equipped and well staffed. Great food, music, shopping, and plenty of activities for non skiers or snowboarders. Not your ordinary ski hill!
Love the mountain, lots of different trails, great for beginners to experts. We got some lovely powder runs in on the first day, wonderful grooming too.
Great skiing location. Even today on Saturday December 30th the line up on lifts was still ok and this with a sunny day and plenty of new powder snow. Coming from Europe and used skiing in Austria the ski lift equipment is a bit out-dated and you are missing the comfort on windy cold days. Free ride runs were ok. But unfortenatuelly some skiers and snowboarders are going to high risk for others and jumping around without checking if is free. The ski patrol is missing or not taking care enough. The lodges are quiet comfortable and it was always no problem ro find some places for lunch. The road up to the ski area was good cleaned and no problem to drive up and back. Ok some people were to fast and tested the edges of the road but own fault :).
Got a cabin boarded for the First time. Restaurants were great atmosphere was loud and friendly was a great time
Great terrain, with something for all levels of skier or boarder. Love the Black Forest area on a whiteout kind of day! The village is pretty decent, but could use more shopping.
The tree skiing here is something to be experienced!
True ski in and ski out resort. People are friendly and cheerful. The mountain is medium size and lifts are fairly fast. The snow quality is great and fairly powdery. However, when it snows, white outs do occur.
It's a great family Hill. Great for beginners and intermediate with lots of green and blue. Advanced to expert is limited. Has its moments for the advanced, but your staying in a similar area as double diamonds are few. I enjoyed the bowl area but the cliff chair is older and slower. You need to hike to the top to really experience the better sections of the bowl.
Best value hill in the area! A great mountain at the lowest prices. Great restaurants! My favorite mountain in the vacinity of kelowna
Great Resort, BUT...accommodations getting old! I had to change my review after recent stay at Whitefoot Lodge (Jan 2020). Entire place smelled of mold and dampness from time you first enter building right through to unit.
Let central reservations know and they were not interested.
Will rent privately if I return.
Such a great family ski resort, every time we have been the snow has been fantastic. Small but useful village centre.
Too much fog and where is the trail signage???? You can get lost up there.
It's a nice place to go skiing and snowboarding, but almost everyday there were clouds in our way so we couldn't see longer 100 meters. But otherwise a great resort.
Great variety of runs and usually the lineups are small to none.
This is one of my top picks for ski resorts with maybe Sun Peaks and Whistler topping Big White. Most on hill accommodation is ski-in ski-out and are good value. Hard core double black skiers might be better off in a more challenging resort. Here are lots of groomed runs, varied terrain and tree skiing. The resort is great for families and we found the restaurants to be reasonably priced.
Great place for skiing. lots of trails and lifts. even usually there are lots of people there - you do not fell it crowd.
Loved it has some great terrain and ski patrol gets it done
Top notch Ski resort! The best I have been to so far, such great snow, so much terrain, lots of easy off piste through the trees terrain and nice and quiet! Very well laid out and the little township is great too! Will definitely visit again!
Awesome place for families with kids, tons of slopes for all levels.
The amount of snow is insane! Looking forward to returning next week with 2 of my grandchildren and my husband
I am not a skier nor do I snowboard and I always have a wonderful experience when I take the short drive from Hwy#33. Even in off season there are qualified and helpful staff. And, also, they have a very capable Fire Department.
Honestly this mountain is nothing special. It's nice, but I probably wouldn't come back. The staff wasn't really helpful, the chairlifts were nothing special, the best part is the passes to get on the chairlifts are quick.
Snow quality is very high! Great view, good food! Signs on the slopes are pretty bad though. If you are not familiar with the layout, it is easy to get into a wrong one. If you're good at this sport, it doesn't matter. If not, you may find it difficult to get down from one that is steeper than you expect!
Was a blast aside from the line ups being quite long. Part of the hill was brail skiing. Ugh that's gross!!!
