Myself and daughter for lunch nine days ago.I had main course, which had to be sent back as it was cold and the sirloin was tough.Daughter a burger and taco fries.Had to wait 30mins for her dessert. She also had green tea and fizzy water I also had a cup of coffee. The bill was 93 .A far cry for value for money. Will never be back.Totally pretentious .No tip given , first time in my life.Too many staff for so little customers. Was totally dissatisfied.

Booked for my girlfriends birthday. The place was lovely room was great. Staff where a pleasure to deal with.
And whoever handled our service when we went to the restaurant was fantastic. Food was great overall just a really great place. We will be coming back again and have already recommend it since coming back home.
Only thing I would nitpick is there vending machines are a bit dear.

Knowing that we were due to land in Dublin about 4:30 a.m., which was equal to 12:30 p.m. from my original location, I booked the room for the night before so that we could just quickly check-in and go to sleep. Instead, when we arrived at the hotel, there was no room ready for us and we had a long wait on the sofas. While the night manager comped us dinner (without alcoholic beverages), I did not think the hotel honored our reservation for the night. Someone gave our room - a double and a single bed - to a couple.
Dinner in their main dining room was an incredibly slow experience - ice cream on a desert was served without a spoon - and it took 10 minutes to get the spoon!
When I asked questions at reception, I got different answers - can you exchange 100 USD for Euros - NO, then Yes when another person overheard.

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and just like first time it didn t disappoint. Staff are lovely and the atmosphere in hotel (possibly because of rugby match) is great. Newly refurbished bar and restaurant area is lovely. Bar food and breakfast were also good would definitely have no hesitation staying again or recommending to others

Over priced for a hotel that is under renovation. Hygiene questionable - rooms need a deep clean incl. Bathroom. Room dark and dated with a lack of appeal. First Dublin hotel where I had to pay for parking....
Disappointed stay seeing it was to be a special occasion for my mother.
Overrated dated 4 star.

Very nice hotel with a great Bar and excellent breakfast at a good location. It is just outside Dublin City Centre, but the DART train station is just one street away which takes you in about 7 minutes to the city centre (only 3 stations). Furthermore very nice ambience and great rooms. Parking is a bit expensive though (considering we are outside the centre)

Stayed here for work during the recent snow-storm. Had to arrange last minute meetings in the venue. Despite the conditions and many irritable customers who were stuck in the hotel due to bad weather, the staff were outstanding throughout. They managed the stress well.

The 4-stars is because the hotel needs a bit of TLC. It's an older building that needs refurbishment (which they are doing at the moment). I may revise my rank upwards pending those redecorations.

looks a bit grand and unwelcoming to an outsider. Don t be put off. March right in and down the stairs to the bar and restaurant. Great atmosphere after rugby game next door at RDS.

BIG TIP: You re in Ireland so don t expect that they queue at the bar. As i found out..the bar staff will respond to customers 3 deep behind you before they will glance at someone politely waiting in turn. Shout out loud to get your order in.

The room was excellent and the food was so good..I do think the breakfast should be included in the price of the room.
The staff were friendly and polite but not alot of knowlege of area when we asked how far things were, also we went for a night cap after a show and the staff were not very good, but apart from that the hotel is great.
The food was excellent and very tasty.

I have ever experienced a more disappointing stay ...

I have ever experienced a more disappointing stay at a hotel. You had a thunderous event next to my room, and I had to wait until 1:30 when your event ended. If you want your customers to feel like guests, you would never organise to rent the hall for the venues at the time they are sleeping.
Your guest's satisfaction should be your primary focus, not just the people who you are renting the venue for events.
I had a long busy week, so I was looking forward to a good night of sleep and getting ready to explore Dublin the next day.
I understand you might be hosting people who also like to party on Friday night, but you should not assume that's valid for all of your guests.
The building is beautiful, and I can tell it has a lot of history, but the overall feel is that it hasn't been well maintained. The rooms are not very clean, and you can tell your stuff probably does not have time to clean the bathroom and bedroom deeply. (pictures can be provided). The rooms and hallway are in desperate need of refurbishing. It overall feels like you are staying in a two start hotel with a horrible management strategy.
Your front desk was very polite and apologies for the inconvenience.

Thank you,
Paula

We had a great night sleep here. Beds are super comfortable and we had all the amenities that we needed. The hotel is beautiful inside and has a great restaurant area. Breakfast was very good as well, with many choices and even towards the end of it every plate was full.
The only negative thing was the tap water that was impossible to drink, with a very strong smell. So be sure to bring your own bottle with water.

The room was comfortable but where the hotel lets itself down is inin the catering diluting the experience significantly. Why sis it not possible to get a decent breakfast, lunch or dinner? Choice of lunch and dinner menu very limited, overpriced and in small portions. Breakfast fry barely warm and tasteless. Venue was chosen for convenience of location adjacent to RDS but maybe this is no longer enough. It's pricey to stay in the hotel ( 12 parking per night for guests????) and every time I have got the bill I have asked myself was it worth the amount paid? The answer is no.

We found the personnel at the Reception Desk to be very helpful. Our room was nicely appointed. The beds were very comfortable. The room and bath had lovely finishes and were very clean. Location was great for walking to local amenities. The breakfast buffet had everything available that one could possibly eat for breakfast...and then some...

No major problems

No major problems
It took the shower 5 minutes for the water to get hot for some reason,
I'm an experienced plumber so I understood the problem and waited but I'm sure many other guests would just think there was no hot water
The parking is 12 a night at the weekend but on street parking is FREE !!!!!
Wouldn't the hotel be better off giving free parking at weekends also ..

I have to say that my stay was wonderful. From check in to check out. After a warm welcome and a very informative induction I made my way to my room. The room had been serviced extremely well- very fresh and everything in its place. I drop downstairs to the coffee dock and again the friendlness of the staff and service given was excellent. I had a very relaxing afternoon and evening in the hotel. As I required a taxi to go visiting- the reception desk ordered one and it arrived promptly. Breakfast on sunday morning was busy but a full selection of all items was available and again it was very tasty.
In summary I could not fault the Clayton on anything and I look forward to recommending you and to staying with you again.

Clean, old and classy. Decent staff. Let us check in early so that is why getting 5 stars! Nice people get rewards. Really do like the thick solid doors and the extra things modern places don t have like crown moldings and wood mirrors

Thank you Clayton Hotel Ballsbridge for our lovely stay with your for the Dublin Horse Show. It seemed quieter this year with less noise and mayhem evident from the bands of children who habitually roamed the hotel during this very busy equine event. We have stayed in this hotel for the past 7 years and the improvements include the availability of hot food downstairs for longer periods of time in a very relaxed surroundings. The bedrooms are spacious with nice tea and coffee making facilities. However, unlike previous years there no were shortbread biscuits or Welcome Letter awaiting us. Possibly cutting down on paper waste. The hotel was quieter at night also allowing us uninterrupted sleep which we appreciated. My only comment is that lack of towels in the bathroom. We were 2 ladies and just one hand towel plus 2 bath towels were provided. I was able to use the 3rd set of towels left in the drawers under the TV on our first morning but these were taken away by Accommodation services the second morning and I had to request additional towels each day after that . We stayed 5 nights. We paid 4* prices and I was not happy to have to look for an adequate number of towels each day. What's an adequate number of towels you may ask? A body size towel each: a towel for drying hair each: a hand towels for the sink. I totally support environmental considerations but I need a towel for my body and a towel for my hair and one to dry my hands. I have not had this issue with this hotel in my previous 6 years. The pillows have also improved. The complimentary toiletries and hair dryer are a good quality. I would recommend this hotel for a visit to Dublin and I will return next year for the Dublin Horse show. :-))

Disappointing from the moment we entered the hotel. The lady at reception did not greet us with any words, she was on the phone , then took another call and rrached out for our credit card. When will u be leaving she asked... morning or later so you think... excise me for being such an inconvenience. Transaction completed still not such thing as hello, enjoy your stay, welcome to the clayton.
Then we had food in the bar... omg. Only table suitable was unwioed and remained so u til my hisband went and got a clith and did it himself. Waitresss arrived with a very sour expression to take our order. 20 mins later I got up and went uo to her to ask for our drinks and perhaps the food. We finished that glass of wine and still had no food. I ordered another drink and asked about food again... out it came stone cold!!! My hisband returned the chios bit we ate the rest as we had had a long day and couldn't be bothered waiting again.
8.20am the door ooens, housekeeping, are they for real. I jad my little girl recovering from eye surgery in the room and she woke her... why??
No water in the room, beds sooo uncomfortable..... i'm kinda bored now and needto get out of here. I'm sure the check out will be just as friendly

Was there last week for 3 days. Very good bang for the buck. Friendly and helpful staff, Very clean rooms, HD TV and adequate internet speed for my needs.

Would like to see outlet near the bed though for such gadgets as CPAP. I not, provide guests with extension cord.

Oh, did I mention the superb complimentary breakfast buffet?

The hotel is clean modern and in a great location. The only thing I found shortcoming was the service in the restaurant for dinner. There was just not enough staff for a busy weekend. Breakfast was outstanding and a great selection in their breakfast bufett.

Room was very clean, staff were helpful and friendly. I loved the building!! We were only there for one night so didnt get to use the amenities. We did have a drink and a bite to eat in the restaurant... where they played stuffy classical music. The food and drink was good.
I called for a wake up call but didn't recieve one... Other than that it was a 5 star stay. They are doing renos (i think) the inside of the elevator could use an update but no biggie!

I stayed at this hotel with my wife and 2 kids from sat 29th oct for 2 nights. There was confusion upon checking in as to what room I booked but the receptionist very kindly sorted it out.The room was comfortable and to a good standard. We went to the bar to have drinks and dinner.I was waiting 25 minutes at the bar to get served our drinks.we orderd dinner and it took 1 hour and 20 minutes for our food to arrive when it arrived only half the order came and it was cold and inedible.I spoke to the manager who said they were very busy that night and offered to not charge us for the drinks but we had already paid for them .So we left and went to our room our kids very hungry at this stage I orderd a pizza and 2 fries from room service which took 50 minutes to come the pizza arrived cold and no fries so 15 minutes later the waiter came back with 2 fries we were charged 34 for this service!!For the money we were charged overall to stay at this hotel I think this was very poor value for money.

The Clayton Hotel Ballsbridge is situated near Aviva Stadium, University College Dublin and just a short drive into the city center. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. We arrived late at night having flown in from the Middle East and the staff were warm and welcoming. My wife and I were in Dublin for a black tie function and we were able to dress and prepare for the event. Our morning even included a walk on Dun Laoighire pier! Overall, it was a great experience. We stayed our final night at the Clayton Hotel Dublin Airport before jetting off.

They would benefit if they can develop their modernisation... Reception staff not as good as you would expect. Their breakfast is absolutely amazing. The restaurant is ok: do not try cold salads-they are appalling. We ate there some amazing slowly cooked beef and a great desert. The bar: don t try their cocktails, I had the worst Mojito in there.

How it's 4 star I don't know.. Far nicer Clayton Hotel 2 miles down the road in leeson Street.. Very average. No porter to help with luggage so forget it if you have a few bags. Rooms basic.a little run down. The lifts also are extremely slow I mean we were waiting 3 min For the lift each time. For a hotel very bad. Very slow on room service I had to call 3 times before someone answered. I would of been better staying in a 3 star saving money than here because it certainly does not deserve its 4 stars.

Let's start from the base in which Dublin hotels are not particularly good. After having visited several, in different areas and times of the year, I realize that things that in Spain would be unacceptable or not tolerable here are normal. Things like long waits to be served at the door of the place for breakfast; that the shower does not regulate well or that the room smells damp.
Having said that, I have to admit that the Clayton hotels are very good, they are quite luxurious and relatively comfortable. If you come to Dublin with the right hotel expectations you can until you like them.

All good, we had a very pleasant stay at the bridal suite the night of our wedding. The only downfall which didn't feel right was that we had to pay 12 for parking at the hotel grounds for the night which I think is a disgrace as the rooms are not so cheap anyway and you're staying at the hotel....

We enjoyed our stay at Clayton Hotel Ballsbridge very much. It is situated in a nice area of Dublin, a big plus is the busstop of the Hop on/Hop off-Tour and two bus lines right next to the hotel. It makes it very easy to reach the City Centre. Within walking distance there are a few lovely restaurants. Breakfast was very good and tasty, a lot of fresh fruit and different sorts of bread, juices and even detox water.

We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well presented. The cost for 2 nights was high and we were quite shocked at this, but this may have been due to local sporting events taking place during our stay with pressure for bed spaces.

Staff are very pleasant and helpful, the hotel has been tastefully refurbished. There are ample areas to hold a meeting in private for business discussions and coffee or talk over lunch. The carvery menus are generous and offer something for all pallets (good selection if hot or cold foods and salads).

We enjoy a lunch here quiet regularly as its an alternative to our Sandymount offerings when in work. We have also held a number of meetings here and find parking, access and facilities are all of excellent standard.
