Spacious room with king-size bed: comfortable mattress, coffee and tea facilities + 2 bottles of water, ironing board and iron. Spacious bathroom with shower in bath = high entry. Problems with the safe were unsolvable. Extensive breakfast buffet but the service is very chaotic at busy times.
We lacked information about public transport in the room eg train is 5 minutes walking distance and cheaper if you want to go to the center of the city.
Restaurant was closed during our stay.

Went to a conference there, pastries for breakfast were lovely warm and fresh along with the coffee, lunch was chicken curry with rice, potatoes and vegetables. The setting is like am old Manor House from the front but tastefully designed inside - the staff were extremely professional, friendly and polite while always smiling and saying hello :)

Just home from a stay with family and friends .The whole experience was fantastic , from initial booking , postponed because of lockdown , to finally getting there
We were helped and guided by Aoife who went above and beyond keeping us abreast of any changes the new restrictions may cause to our requests .She was friendly professional and diligent ,more than happy to change dinner seating arrangements, rooms or anything to make us more comfortable. Slight mix up with a meal selection was dealt with quickly, with no fuss ,apologies and a treat for the Inconvenience. All staff from bar to restaurant, whether dinner or breakfast went way above and beyond to make our stay a memorable one ,just looking at dates now to stay again .

Thank you to everyone, you'll be seeing us again soon x

The hotel is located at very safe and quiet area, where wealthy Georgian-style houses are located in Dublin. And the U.S.A. and UK ambassies are near by. Staff members provided good service with great hospitality except that they have forgotten our wakeup call once and extra coffee. Just make sure you set up an extra alarm clock. ^^

Tea & coffee we ordered & paid for at the coffee dock were fine. However, food service for friends was terrible. They waited for an hour, basic items like bowls of soup took orders were wrong and coffee cold. It wasn't just our table, we saw another table of five cancel soups ordered because they had to leave. Bad form. Would not be in a hurry back.

Arrived to find a big damp patch in the corner of the room from a presumed leaking water pipe. Promptly relocated to another room when reported with no fuss. Breakfast selection was also very good. Good bus transportation right in front of the hotel. Very polite and professional staff.

Man, I really liked this hotel. One of the receptionists gave my group and I a tour and a brief history of the hotel. The breakfast I couldn t get enough of. I would love to stay at this hotel when I travel back to Ireland again.

This very conveniently located, former Bewlay's Hotel in Ballsbridge, next to the RDS is ideal for a number of reasons.
The reception staff were quick and efficient, the bedroom was very clean and tidy. Restaurant staff were quite attentive during breakfast and early evening sessions.
Underground car park bays sizes are very small and I did get blocked in on both days during my stay.. Thankfully having a hatchback I was able to gain entry through the rear door - not ideal in a business suit.

We stayed here October 2017 for 5 nights. We found our family room conveniently located on the ground floor. The beds were comfortable with lots of pillows. The room was clean. The shower was hot and powerful. Great blackout curtains. Wifi was free and good signal. The television network could be improved. The reception staff were wonderful. The bar area is stunning. More toilet roll needed for a family of 4 as we ran out twice.

Terrible staff and very rude manager. The food in the kitchen wasn t great and the tap water is disgusting. Our shower took half an hour to even get luke warm. We ordered food from a take away with their permission and the manager sent our delivery man away to sit in his car outside. We asked him if he had seen a delivery man and he denied seen anyone. Room cleaning was awful, we weren t provided new towels or body wash after our first shower on our first night.

Our stay was okay. There was a match going on and there was absolutely no where to park; it was a super stressful way to start the trip. The staff let us park out front until a spot in the ramp opened up which was nice. I had reserved a king bed but the bed was way more queen sized than king. Service was okay no one was super friendly nor helpful. It a beautiful building but didn t give us a reason to come back.

It's an old fashion hotel, kinda old but does it's thing. It's expensive mainly because of the history behind it. Nice breakfast but the staff some times aren't enough and you might be waiting a little bit.

Stayed in August and everything was okay bar the fact that we had no hot water and dirt was pouring out of the taps. I told one of the staff members about the problem and they gave me an e-mail address. After explaining what had happened I was told a deputy manager would make contact with me. I have not heard anything from the hotel since. Hot water is a necessity for any hotel and I would advise looking elsewhere as if problems occur your likely to be let down by their customer service.

Very pleased with the Clayton Ballsbridge. Excellent value per price compared to other hotels in Dublin. The building's architecture, inside and outside, is magnificent. There is a beautiful warm smell of freshly baked croissants in the hallway. The room was very spacious and the bed and pillows particularly comfortable. The hotel's distance from the city centre guarantees a very calm and green environment but it's also very easy to get to the centre through bus connections at the gate of the hotel. The breakfast is rich and of very good quality.
Two improvements would have been appreciated: 1) Better placed electric plugs on both sides of the bed. 2) While the bathroom was cleaned very well prior to our check-in, the following days, it should have been cleaned more thoroughly in the morning make-out of the room during our stay.

Was extremely upset that I was charged for parking at the hotel. I have never in any hotel paid for parking as a resident. The service was good staff was friendly but I don't think I should have to pay 12 on top of the room charge for giving you business and staying at your hotel.

Loved this hotel. The bed was super comfy, it was right on the bus line and the light rail line. The only criticism would be the outlet - our room had one and it was no where near the bed. We made it work, though.

We didn't try the restaurant but it looked nice. The coffee in the morning at the coffee bar was a bit expensive but great quality.

We'd *definitely* come back!

Beautifully Located hotel with all the mod-comms you expect. Breakfast service was a bit slow due to the many groups eating at the same time. Also the rooms were Irish-fresh as there was no heating to be found

Nice looking nice hotel on the outside, but gross and disgusting on the inside. The hotel overcharged me by 50% & I only realized it after checkout. No gym, no pool, & no room service. There were ketchup or blood stains on the curtains.

I stayed during a poker festival & the entire floor was loud & smelled like pot smoke.

The staff actually tried to charge me 150 extra for a smoking fee. I never smoked in the room & found the entire thing laughable. In fact, I found it disturbing that they justified coming into my room when I had a do not disturb sign up & my cash was laying out & then charged me for simply having a pack of smokes on my desk.

The staff was rude & unreasonable to deal with. I had the option to stay but moved across the street to the intercontinental & was much happier for it.

We have stayed at the Clayton Hotel Ballsbridge qu...

We have stayed at the Clayton Hotel Ballsbridge quite a few times now and are never disappointed it is a lovely hotel with extremely friendly staff. However I have just one comment to make this time, on arrival the toilet seat cover was up I didn't think anything of this until I went to flush the toilet and when I put the seat down the panel on the wall fell out I managed to put it back in and when you leave the seat cover up it keeps the panel in place - obviously the reason it was up on arrival. We didn't spend much time in the room as we were up from Wexford for Shopping and the Leinster game but I was surprised that this hadn't be fixed prior to letting the room.

Its just something small and certainly won't put us off we will be back again.

Kind regards

We stayed for 4 nights. We wanted a place outside ...

We stayed for 4 nights. We wanted a place outside the city center and especially quiet at night as we had to travel during the day.
The bed were just perfect, once you lay down, it was like sleeping on a cotton cloud! ;-)
The rooms are really silent, you can't hear what's happening on the corridor or other rooms, which is really important for a hotel that has receptions and weddings at weekends!

We have not been disappointed at all, excepted for the restaurant and pub that didn't have vegan options, and when we tried to come on our first evening we had to wait 15 min without being served, then we left for another place.

The room was clean (+ bathroom) but we had to ask twice a refill on coffee and tea for the room, so I think that might be something to improve (the coffee/tea area was not even touched by the maid, excepted for the cups). The second time the guy at the reception was quite unpleasant or annoyed by our request when we came back at the hotel at night (bald guy with russian accent). All the other staff members were really friendly but not particularly this person.

One last thing is that the computer available for clients was not free? How come with a hotel such as the Clayton? I would understand if it was at a youth hotel but not here.

Beside all these little feedbacks or annoying small things, we had a perfect stay. The place is gorgeous, and the friendly staff will make it a perfect place to stay for our next visit to Dublin.

I would definitely recommend the place to friends and family.
