This is a Hotel I stay at regularly. The lobby has dinosaur exhibits which Colorado is known for its' dinosaur fossils and bones. It is beautiful and educational for adults and children. The Hotel has an outdoor pool, with handicap access and a year round outdoor air temp for this pool. The pool is kept clean and is beautiful. It is pet friendly, but does have a steep pet deposit. The breakfast buffet has the greatest selection from fresh fruit and yogurt to waffles and breakfast meats. I recommend this Hotel extremely highly.

The hotel was nice and clean, but one big thing that makes it have a low rating for me is I was charged for an emotional support animal, which should not be a thing. I'm pretty sure it's illegal to charge to that, but I did not want to argue and I was tired when we checked it. If you don't have any ESAs, it shouldn't be that bad, but this was a big flaw in my opinion.

Reply to the owner: I even asked the person I checked in with that I had an emotional support animal, they had no idea what that was and still said they charge for it. So I was charged regardless of having an emotional support animal with paperwork.

Pros: good breakfast, beds comfortable, rooms were clean, parking was easy, off duty attendant helped, pool.

Cons: front desk lady was not nice, small foyer area, work out room is pretty small and the water jug was empty, hotel feels a little outdated.

The last three times my husband and I traveled to the Denver/Lakewood area we had stayed at this Best Western. Reason is because the place is clean and everyone is so polite. And they have some great breakfasts.

The hotel is simple but nice enough. There is no elevator and they don't tell you this when you select a floor -- it was fine for us but may be difficult for other families. Our air conditioner went out and when I told the front desk attendant he told me that they had about 10 rooms open but since they were 'so close' to occupancy his manager didn't like when he moved people rooms. He came to look at the AC and determined they'd have to put a service request in for the next day (when we were checking out). We were stuck in a room without AC on a day that was 95+ outside. He offered us 10% off the room but that didn't make up at all for a hot night of restless sleep.

The hotel itself isn't bad but the customer service was certainly lacking.

The lady working the front desk was extremely rude to my parents today upon check out. Being a Diamond Select member my father asked for a late check out and she was very rude about it and kicked them out, my parents were waiting for a ride to the doctors office and are both disabled and were treated like this. I ve stayed at hundreds of hotels over the last 5 years or so and this is by far the worst experience. If I was you I would stay clear of this property, this will be the last time we stay here.

Great hotel. Dinosaur theme makes it a stand out from other BWs. The rooms aren't bad. The beds could be a little more comfortable and the breakfast buffet closes early at 9:30 am. I would stay here again. Still a nice decent place to stay for the cost.

Very Nice and clean room. Everything appeared new and high quality. Great shower and comfortable bed. This place was nicer than some of the higher end hotels. Housekeeping does a great job. Great complimentary breakfast. Great value.

This is a great little place, the view isn't very good, but the time are clean and well equipped. The guy who was running the bar talked to me and my girlfriend for a while. The atmosphere is great, lots of cool dinosaurs. I definitely recommend.

Mostly dissapointed
The Building is old but remodeled.
The pool and Hot tub are nice.
The staff is great in the morning really nice in the evenings but the overnight guy is Bearly trying. I guess a white undershirt and a Batman Vest is OK for overnights but NOT A GOOD IMAGE FOR THE BW BRAND.
I was under the impression leaving a CC on file for incidentals was customary (it is) the overnight person couldn't be inconvenienced enough to put snacks on our room as the evening gentleman did with out an incident.
The totally unprofessional said " sir I'm Telling You We can't do that"
Well I'm telling you your staff already has and I was told we could (and we can) but this Jackass insisted on arguing with me upfront of other customers waiting to check in.
Now... The correct way to handle that would have been to say no problem SIR I can do that for you as well... No prolem. Confirm room number and name and go on to next customer.
But NO HE HAS TO BE RIGHT...
WELL BE RIGHT OR SHOULD I SAY (WRONG) WE RENT A ROOM ONCE A WEEK.
Next Week we will be at the place across the street. WE WONT BE BACK. Enjoy being uninformed unprofessional and hopefully unemployed. You being right cost the company $100 week X 52 weeks $5200
Should have just put the Snacks on the CC room. Everywhere you go you can bill it to the room...
I'm TELLING YOU NO! Says the silly boy.

TL;DR - Would not stay at this best Western again, nor would I recommend it to others.

Pros: The hotel was clean. Front desk staff was courteous and friendly. Free hot breakfast.

Cons: There is no elevator. It's not that it is out of order, there is just NO ELEVATOR to speak of. My boyfriend and I had to make several trips up and down stairs with heavy bags and boxes because we were carting around perishable goods that we did not want to leave in the car. We asked for a ground floor room and, even though we were a platinum member, we were told that nothing could be done.

The workout room was not open 24/7 as was stated on the door to the gym and on the website. Neither were the two general use bathrooms near the pool. They were locked with a key I assumed by the front desk.

As far as the room goes, it was mostly okay. Except for the tiny bathroom you can hardly move in and the batteries in the TV remote being dead. Oh and the window ac/heat unit doing a pretty poor job of regulating the temperature of the room. No matter what we set it to, the room was either too hot or too cold.

We pulled in to a man greeting us with yelling and fervant whispers to himself while smoking something indescribable. He flailed his arms about and walked off yelling into the distance after about 15 minutes. After we checked in and left to get some food, we came back and a slender man quickly put out his cigarette and followed us in immediately. We told the front desk who seemed unphased by a strange man entering the premises without a key card. Room was ok. Thin walls. 1/5. Stay somewhere else.

Good value compared to nearby hotels. The free breakfast was robust (eggs, sausage, waffles, oatmeal, etc.) and the shower was hot with great pressure. Rooms were also clean and quiet. Only problem was the WiFi dropping in and out due to a glitch with the browser based sign in.

Love the Dino theme, it was fun and unique! Stayed here for 1 night to catch a concert at Red Rocks. The hotel is quite nice and very large, everything was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Internet was a bit odd as I kept getting kicked off it, but overall we loved the hotel. The Dino theme really makes it! Very cool for a Best Western.

Awesome experience. This place is like a dinosaur museum. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. The one thing that set this place apart from anything was the front desk staff. I have to give a shout-out to Yamissia. She went above and beyond in making sure our needs where met. I've worked in the hotel industry for over 6 years and I've also managed a customer service call center. Yamissia has "it".

Very nice lobby area with attractive furniture and coffee, tea and ice water always available. Updated rooms were roomy and clean. Many restaurants within walking distance. Kids would live the mastodon theme with bones and history of these ancient creatures. Nice breakfast.

Rooms are very neat & clean as was the overall appearance of the hotel.....Great workout room & laundry...Good hot breakfast....Staff very kind & accommodating....we were here for 8 days because my husband was working in the area, but stayed elsewhere a couple days previous to our stay here, wished we had stayed the entire time here .....if we should ever return to the area we will definitely stay again

I had called in advance to reserve a pet friendly room on the first floor because I have knee issues and it is hard to go up stairs. When I checked in they gave me a 2nd floor room. Walking up the steps there was a strong marijuana smell. I went down to request another room and was told they can't do anything about the smell and there were no other rooms. When I opened the door to the room a strong cigarette smell hit me. This is suppose to be a non-smoking hotel. It is not. I developed a sore throat and red eyes from the smoke. I always stay at Best Westerns but that may change. I will definitely never stay here again. I even canceled the rest of my stay and found a different hotel.

A very nice hotel. Hot breakfast options include scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, biscuits and gravy. The usual cold options as well. Rooms are spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable. One drawback--there is no elevator for 2nd floor rooms, nor is there an ice machine on the 2nd floor. Location is convenient to many restaurants, but is not particularly close to I-25. Located a block off of Wadsworth, the closest major road, it cannot be seen from Wadsworth. Staff is great. Didn't try the pool since it's outdoors and we there in late September.

Our experience was great and we have used best western in Denver before and it has always been a good experience for us. Thanks for another great trip to Denver. I would recommend this hotel to all my family and friends.

Front desk staff were very friendly. We brought our dog whom they loved and even gave us multiple milk bones for him, which he loved. The hotel was very clean. The pool and hot tub were fantastic at night as you could look up and see the stars and moon. Breakfast was the best out of 4 different Best Westerns we stayed at in many states.

Really cool Dinosaur theme! Treat staff or anyone for that matter with respect and you will have a great time. No complaints about bed or service on my end stayed for thee days during Global Dance Festival

We had a wonderful relaxing stay here. The cleanest best run hotel I have ever had the pleasure to stay in. The swimming pool is not the usual small/boring offering but large, outdoor, heated, interesting and very clean. Reception were very helpful and super friendly. The design of the hotel is really good. I stayed in the King Suite room - very big with twin aspect. The location is in a quiet leafy suberb of Denver but easy enough to drive into the centre. I would not consider staying anywhere else in Denver.

I stayed in a room on the top floor. It was kept very clean and was quiet. I was there for an event at the pool, and spent most of my time there. The staff was friendly and helpful with questions that I asked.

The sheets did not appear to have been changed since the last guest. I brought it to Matt the desk clerk's attention. He accused me of sitting on the bed then taking the picture. The top sheet was not even pulled all the way up to the pillows. While I was talking to him he just walked away and went in his office closing the door behind him. In recent years I have had several different hotels tell me that it is not cost effective to change the sheets and towels after every guest so I always bring my own sheets and usually stay at Best Western because they are pretty consistently clean. I did ask the desk clerk when I checked in about the changing of the sheets and she said something but now that I think about it, she never actually said that they change the sheets after every guest and neither did Matt. Besides that the sheets and blanket were like sand paper and the bed was super uncomfortable. The chef on the other hand was impressive and the only reason I gave as many stars as I did.

Our room had a funny smell when we went in. Hotel smelled like smoke. Pool was not great, really needed cleaned due to people tossing cigarettes in it. Staff was friendly. Room was clean.

We went to check this place out but didn't end up staying. We asked to see the room and the girl behind the desk seemed very inconvenienced and was rude after we said it smelled if smoke so it wouldn't work out for us.

It's a no smoking hotel so we were hopeful as we are so sensitive to smoke. But we had to walk through a cloud of smoke at the front doors as people were smoking 2 feet from the front door. The halls also smelled of smoke. I don't know if people were just dragging it in when they came in from outside or what. Also someone came out of their room as we were being led to see a room and they and their room wreaked of pot.

If your not sensitive to smells this is probably a great place I just wanted to warn people who might be sensitive or have asthma. It's a very cool looking building inside and dog friendly.

We stayed at the Best Western Denver Southwest, Lakewood, Co on our way to Utah. The front desk staff was very unfriendly and not helpful. He was away from the desk when we arrived and had placed a notice indicating that he would be back soon. Although I didn't watch the clock I'm sure I was there a minimum of 3 minutes, if not more, which seems like an eternity when you have been on the road for 12 hours. When he did return he didn't even acknowledge me standing there and answered the phone. I have been at many hotels where the front desk employee answers the phone but then politely asks the caller to hold while they complete my check in. After the call he did not apologize for the wait. When arriving later in the evening I appreciate a friendly front desk employee to help with restaurant recommendations and be helpful during the check in. The room was fine but had only a shower. This is fine for us but I think should be mentioned at check in because some people only use a bathtub. The breakfast was good and the room kept very clean by a wonderful, friendly man working in this area. If it wouldn't have been for this man it would have been an all around bad experience. Kudos to him for leaving us with a good impression.

A great location to stay while visiting the area attractions, visiting, or attending meetings. Tucked away in beautiful Lakewood, this hotel offers everything needed for the perfect experience away from home. All the comforts of home: a comfy bed, a "get you going" breakfast, and everything you need to make your stay a pleasant one. A short drive takes you to Red Rocks, Garden of the Gods, Rocky Mountain National Forest, and the Air Force Academy. Access is easy from the Airport by taking the RTD line to Wadsworth Station. Enterprise will pick you up there with a rental car which is much cheaper than at the airport. If the price is the best part, the experience is even better!

Our stay at Best Western's Denver Southwest could not have been nicer, thanks to the wonderful staff; from the folks at the Front Desk, to the cheerful lady who greeted & helped us at the breakfast buffet, as well as the fantastic housekeeping staff!
We will always stay here whenever we're in Denver. They are very professional, friendly and accommodating, and the hotel is beautiful, clean and well cared-for.
