Over many years of travelling and staying in hotels, Best Western and others, this one must rank in the top three of them all. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending it.

Friday night there was a wedding on in the grounds outside our hotel bedroom window with loud music playing until midnight. Set in beautiful place and expected peace and quite there.

Really nice venue and got a king size bed as requested. Bar area and restaurant was really nice. Food was very good and portions plentiful. Buffet cooked breakfast in the meaning alongside continental. Grounds of the Edwardian house are lovely and there is a nature reserve just beyond the gardens. Room had good sized TV, ensuite had bath/shower combo.

I had my wedding reception here on Saturday and all staff were extremely professional, welcoming, friendly and efficient. I have never experienced such excellent service at a restaurant or hotel before. The staff really went out of their way to make sure the day went smoothly and felt special, especially our wedding manager who was absolutely fantastic! The food was done to an excellent standard and there was plenty of it.The wine was lovely too. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to others. I can't fault it or the staff in any way. We'll definitely be back again. All of our guests were very impressed with the hotel and the service received by the stsff. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the rooms very spacious. Thank you Chilworth Manor for making our big day so special

We stayed here as our first night together as a married couple. The front desk staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and the building was fantastic, in some beautiful grounds. We had ordered for prosecco to be in the room but none was there - there was of course no issue with taking it off the bill. We also had real issues with room keys and getting locked out of the room. The room itself has obviously been modernised, with mod cons such USB charging points and coffee machines. Also the bed was extremely comfy! In general, the hotel was good, but not really any better than any other chain, and probably not quite as tightly run. With such a beautiful setting, it is a hotel that really deserves to be something special, but it is actually reasonable.

Appalling.........no TV due to technical issue, I get that........no kettle, reported, never recieved one.........they have modernised the bathrooms but whoever did the sealing on the bath and floor tiles must have been in a real hurry. I can take some issues, but no TV & hot drink, that's poor.

Beautiful building but the food was so poor. Stayed for two nights cancelled the reservation for food second night. Very limited choice so we both ordered the fish and chips, chips came out cold so we asked for our meal to be changed, it then came out with hot chips and cold fish and peas, didn t order dessert. Spoke to reception who said he would look to get a reduction in food. Breakfast was served when asked for toast, they said they could only do bread roll due to COVID I just couldn t be bothered to ask what that had to do with a toaster or grill not working. On checkout asked for bill, question the price as no reduction for food only to be told no one around to talk to. We won t be returning

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights over a weekend in order to see family members before Christmas.
The hotel was easy to find for our taxi driver; well sign posted from the main road. It's worth noting that the entrance to the car park up the main drive is one way, and the exit is another way.
Check in was quick and easy, staff were polite and helpful.
The room size was smaller than expected (Despite having read other reviews that said the rooms were small) but this is due to the building being an old Edwardian Manor House that probably can't be altered too much. Room commodities in our "Executive" room didn't seem to differ much from a standard hotel room. I'd question the difference when booking and next time may go for a standard room. Decoration was pleasant and neutral. The bathroom was a perfectly good size for our needs. The mattress on the bed was incredibly firm and not good for my wife who currently has a back injury. Neither of us slept particularly well for the whole stay. We did ask for a mattress topper after the first night, and this was provided although it was pretty thin, so we went to the nearby ASDA supercentre to buy another one. This did help a little although we feel as hotel guests this shouldn't have needed to happen. We do however, appreciate that not all mattresses will suit everyone. When discussing this with a few hotel staff, their 'party-line' seemed to be "Unfortunately you can't bring your bed from home with you". This we know, however we feel that perhaps if firm mattresses are bought, then more adequate mattress toppers (Memory foam ones?) should be provided in each room to suit guests. I shall be contacting the hotel manager regarding the mattress, in due course.
The bar area was nicely decorated for Christmas, and really is rather grand. The way the balcony overlooks this area is lovely, and the large Christmas tree was great too.
The food here really brings up my overall rating. Improve the mattresses in the rooms and it would've been 5 stars.

Stayed here lots of times, usually before a cruise. First time since coronavirus. Wasn't sure what it would be like. It was lovely. We were looked after very well and apart from having to wear a facemask while walking through the hotel everything was just as good as before.

A beautiful period house set in lovely grounds, good breakfast and comfy accommodation.
if i had to be picky, the breakfast room was very warm and very busy. Parking was also very busy and although extra parking was available, it was quite a walk from reception for my elderly mother and as it is a one way system, then once you realise you cant park in the front car park, then you have no choice but to use the car parks further away.

We had a perfect 4 night stay with breakfast. Chilworth Manor is a lovely hotel set in beautiful grounds. Very well located from major roads and within easy reach of Southampton and the ship terminals. The staff were helpful, friendly and attentive. Situated also on the edge of the New Forest it makes an excellent base to explore this exceptionally beautiful area of Hampshire.

Our stay over the weekend of 1st to 3rd March was exceptionally comfortable. The hotel is very well maintained, clean and fresh looking, unlike many others of the same type and age. The staff are incredibly polite and attentive whilst not too pushy, all our needs were met, I understand that many have been at Chilworth Manor for a long time which says its a pleasant place to work also. The quality of the room and decor, the food, both breakfast and dinner was of an extremely good standard and the lounge was an inviting place to sit and read on what was a very wet Sunday afternoon. Having the 'The Club' on the same site with its large swimming pool and spa facilities was added bonus. Chilworth you need do nothing more its just fine as it is, don't change.

Reasonable standard hotel, with very good welcoming reception staff, beds comfortable with all the amenities you would expect in the room and great wifi included. Lovely grounds. Negatives would be -Bar area not so welcoming when all the doors left open - drafty and people walking through all the time makes it uncomfortable. Breakfast ok, but difficult to slide plate along, & get the food out of the container with the lid sitting on top. Overall would use again.

Hotel looks fantastic and has some lovely grounds; the parking is plentiful and should never be a problem. The rooms are basic but clean and functional so serve the purpose. The problem with this hotel is it does not know what it is trying to be. Function venue? Conference meeting venue? Up market escape? it does none of them particularly well! The staff are generally off hand and devoid of any personality, bordering on rude and the place generally has no ambiance. Come on Chilworth Manor you can do so much better!

The hotel struggles to cope with individual bookings.
It is very tired and in need of a deep clean and refurbishment., a shame really because the location is very good.
The hairdryer in the room wouldn't work, and after an hour the hotel still hadn't been able to locate a replacement.

Very disappointing for the price paid. Main bar has no atmosphere, rude staff and warm white wine. Very early check out, 10am.. 11 or 12 would be far better and the norm in most places I've stayed.

This lots like a very high-end and respectable restaurant/ bar. Although I have never visited as I drove past and briefly stopped in their car park. Which they have quite a high level available. Will certainly be stopping in for a sit down meal once the pandemic is over

A very nice place with friendly staff and lovely grounds. I found the restaurant quite noisy during our meal with a lot of ice buckets being filled, but the service and meal was very pleasant. One star down the because you have a smoking area next to the main entrance to the hotel, I don't mind smokers but why right next to a door, which everyone has to walk pass. Please provide a better location for the smokers to keep dry and not to fume others with smoke.

Great character hotel. Customer service is top notch, the pool and spa are very good and our room was newly refubished with all the necessary modern tech including very fast wi fi. We didn't use the restaurant which though looked good had a limited menu which didn't meet our needs, instead there is a great pub a short walk away.

Nice and cosy property. Spend one night for business. Spacious room with good equipments, the only negative point was to be be in the highest floor and in a noisy room. Had a meal in the one rosette restaurant. It was ok. Breakfast room service delayed 40 minutes. Make sure to order earlier than needed so you can be still on time. Easy access to Birmingham airport and walking distance to the university park.

Stayed the night and had a fantastic stay. Rooms where comfortable and clean. Staff where friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant was amazing, especially the dinner we had where we truly where spoilt for choice of what to have. We also had a 30 minute back, neck and shoulder massage which was also really nice. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful if but a little noisy due to the closeness to the motorway. However this being said one inside the hotel there is no noise to be heard from the motorway. Overall a very enjoyable stay and we will defiantly be considering a stay in the near future.

Beautiful building ang grounds. Plenty of car parking spaces.
I stopped on a standard room which was fine, not the best I've stayed in but certainly not the worst. The bed was comfortable enough but it was very hot and there were no thin sheets available so it was either a thick duvet or nothing. As the room didn't have aircon it wasn't the best night's sleep. To be fair this is probably only an issue two or three nights a year as the the weather was freakishly warm for the U.K.
I stayed two nights and the menu in the dinning room was the same both nights which was disappointing. Breakfast wasn't great. The scrambled eggs were grey unappetising. It took an age for the staff to bring out items once they run out.
The bar area is nice and there is plenty of outdoor seating. However, by 10pm this was covered in plates and glasses which attracted the local wasp and hornet population and didn't really make for a relaxed evening drink.
Sadly I didn't get chance to go to the pool or spa so cannot comment.
All in all it's a very nice hotel with great staff and I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed stopping here. I'll probably stop again when I next have to travel to Southampton.

Initial contact with the hotel to check availability for a room. This was confirmed by the hotel. I then purchased a discount voucher and called the hotel to book the available room and use my discount voucher purchased. I was then informed that they could not supply the room I had enquired for previously. The exact answer : I CAN NOT GIVE YOU A ROOM FROM OUR LAST THREE ON A VOUCHER. This is obviously a nuisance for them as they are looking to make more money from the room and not honour the voucher I had purchased. Shocking service!
