The hotel is going through a refurbishment phase. A lot of the bedrooms and meeting rooms have been upgraded. They're looking really good and fresh. Stayed for a light lunch served in the Bar area... perfect setting to relax in front of the fire. The food is aromatic and tasty. Definitely recommend.

If you're planning on visiting this hotel then don't bother. The bed was far too small for 2 adults and you couldn't move around the bathroom. The television was at a side angle to the bed. The restaurant service is poor and bar prices extortionate. The jacuzzi wasn't working and out of action for at least the next 6 weeks.

The staff are really helpful. The food is good. Wonderful choice for breakfast. The beds are comfortable. The rooms are quiet. i.e. no noise from corridors etc. The grounds are stunning, especially in the spring when the rhododendrons and azaleas are in bloom. I highly recommend it for all types.

Noisy kitchen staff right outside our room, talking loudly and swearing 8-10pm and emptying bottles etc into bins (maybe leave that till the day time?)

Swimming pool allows under 17s from 3pm-5:30pm only on weekends. Fairly useless for young families

Decent breakfast, room decor pretty good, bathroom well finished. Wifi strong and stable.

I would recommend this hotel to a 55+ brexiteer who doesn't like young children, and who has poor hearing.

Nice hotel, rooms small but satisfactory. My only small issue is that I was travelling with a 3 year old and the staff members behind the till did not give me a kids welcome pack... My child had a tantrum and on enquiring they gave me one!

We stayed here for 8 nights July-Aug this year, This is quite an impressive looking building, with its long drive past the gatehouse and up through landscaped grounds, to the majestic old Manor House, it defiantly looks the part, and from the pictures that you can see here and elsewhere online you get the feeling you are going to be in for something above the usual hotel stay .. However first of all a little reality check If you pay for the cheapest room , or a basic package, you can t really be expected to stay in the grand luxurious Manor rooms , on a large jewel encrusted four poster bed , the figures just don t add up. What you will get if you go for the cheapest room option will be one of the rooms in the Newer outer wing, which are more reminiscent of a Travel Premier Inn Lodge type of thing, all adequate and the essentials covered, but no Lord of the Manor, upstairs Downstairs type of feeling, but really that is to be expected, if you want the better rooms, you of course have to pay the higher price.

The entrance looks feels the part, the spacious lobby with its large welcoming fireplace and large comfy chairs, takes you back to a period where grand lavishness and a cringing and fawning service was the norm, where you were treated to the real luxuries in life, by people that were there to cater for all your whims and needs at the drop of a hat

But this is where it ends, it has a feel about the place that this was once a Hotel with more stars that is now living on its former reputation and on its way down, or it s trying to be a higher class establishment on a budget, and falling well short. My main issues were with the staffing, there seemed to be a lack of training or a least hiring of staff that would be efficient for the job they were intended for, they lacked that Finesse and to be honest a few of them just appeared to be in the wrong career totally, looking bored or appeared to be Not Really Bothered if you were to enquire for anything. And the place was run with a more That ll do attitude, rather than a How can we improve this type of attitude.

And breakfast was the biggest issue , comical at times bordering on total incompetence at others , it just feels like no-body is looking anymore , it s like they are going through the same routine & motions (badly) with closed eyes on automatic, and the Guest are just getting in the way a bit. It just feels that it needs someone to go in there with fresh eyes watch where it is going wrong and how things can be improved by staff re-trained, and I feel they could be onto something so much improved
*** If you haven t paid for breakfast with the room I would like to say that it is not worth the money they charge for the individual price ***

Don t get me wrong the stay was reasonably enjoyable, and many of the staff were friendly and helpful, it s just that their service was over shadowed by the poor service from others.

I should point out that we never had a meal in the place after the experience we had at our first breakfast we decided to go elsewhere , so I can t comment on the food , well only to say that it seemed pricey , and there was little chance that service would be acceptable for those prices if the attempts of the morning service was anything to go by

TBH I could provide a list where things are lacking, however I feel this has gone on way too long (should have kept this to the usual two line review, uploaded a few pictures, grabbed my points and moved on) , and most of you would have stopped reading by now. Oh and I am not one of those people that just us Google to slate off a place for no reason , I just feel that this place to could be so much improved , by taking a few things back to basics

It was okay but I won't go back. The staff was friendly. Room was plain and simple. Very squeaky floor boards and thin walls. You could hear people walking in the corridor and in the next room and on my last night I could hear the person in More

We were at Chilworth Manor with a stall for their Countess Mountbatten charity event. The event was very well organised with some lovely and friendly stall holders. The only negative was there wasn't any food readily available and as the event was from 10am to 3pm the chance of buying lunch would have been nice. Other than that, no complaints and would certainly recommend the Chilworth Manor and would certainly be interested in being part of another event held there.

Attending for a training event, great facilities, friendly staff and the refreshments including lunch were all to a very high standard. Well looked after and would recommend based on this stay.

Good WiFi. Room okay, though not vacumed. Nice breakfast. Staff who interacted, friendly.
Lovely outside areas. Food & Drink from the Bar, limited & expensive.
Parking can be difficult, as used for cruise passenger stay and park and packed when an event is on, with no priority for guests.
Had a school reunion which took over the whole place and staff, on the second night. Can imagine the same or worse for a wedding.

Lovely location but hard to get to from the motorway. The conference catering was a bit strange. The soup was potato and leak (sic), and the fish pies turned out to be cottage pies. Lots of bread and biscuits for cheese but no butter (or marge)

Beautiful place we ask had a great time there ... quiet lovely to stay over ...

The staff were very friendly and the food was very nice, although the bar could do with more variety of beers and ciders. The standard rooms were comfortable - not too hot as other hotels can be - and good sized for 2 people, although our bathroom door would not close fully. There is a spa/gym complex on the hotel site, but it is also for locals and gets busy quickly. This was a shame, as we were under the impression it was for hotel guests and by the time we arrived all spaces for treatments had gone, which was the primary reason we chose this hotel. The staff were unable to recommend many nearby alternatives, but this may be in part because they don't want to promote local competition. The hotel offers complimentary WiFi so you can work or plan your trip, bit during our stay the connection was very hit and miss. However, the mobile and 4G reception wasn't too bad and could be used in most areas of the hotel. That aside, the Best Western Chilworth Hotel is an excellent base for exploring the Solent area and the nearby New Forest national park. Overall, an enjoyable stay despite not being able to use the spa facilities.

Their restaurant has been empty since 7 am. But they wouldn't book us in for breakfast untill 11 am. And wouldn't let us walk in before that either.
I would understand if it was actually full, but its not, its mostly empty. Happened to us on both the days we stayed.

17 family members, including 4 children, celebrated my sister's 70th birthday here. Our evening meal was served in a lovely private room and the food was excellent. Used the swimming pool in the afternoon but a shame children were only allowed to use it between 3.00 and 5.00pm, especially as the weather was so bad and we could not explore the beautiful grounds of this hotel. Overall a lovely weekend.

Amazing looking lobby bar area, looks especially stunning when done out for Christmas, log fire in winter, service sometimes slow, drinks reasonably priced for hotel bar. Food pricey and not always up to standard. Rooms are lovely. Great patio area for summer drinks. Also have use of the pool etc. Nice location for a chill out or for getting aboard cruise ship.

This was part of a Paultons Park Brake and I think should be removed as a choice. I would say this Hotel is unsuitable for family s. The kids menu have large portions but you feel like your put in the corner in the restaurant as did the other family due to having kids. The guests are more suited for business and get away breaks. It s like your an annoyance otherwise. Also being placed all the way at the back of the hotel with the only other family. The beds for the kids were broken with wires hanging out and the mattress were very thin. Our daughter who normally sleeps for England was unable to sleep well and was tired all day the next day. The Swimming pool was not allowed for kids and we actually left the paultons park early to go swimming and they said you can t use it for kids during the week. This was not explained and when we booked it online with the park and our reasons for the pool, they did not mention this. The kids were disappointed, tired and ruined our break. The Hotel is also looking a bit tired and bathrooms may need updating.

I am a carer for two vulnerable adults who recently stayed at this hotel and I am leaving a review based on that experience. The staff who dealt with both us and them were excellent, very kind and understanding, patient, and they looked after our two service users exceptionally well, particularly Adam, who works in reception, and Michael, who works in the bar. We cannot rate highly enough the professionalism of these two members of the staff, and we thank them for their help.

All staff are very helpful and friendly and carry out their duties with a pleasant disposition and a smile. The hotel is good value and is

set in lovely grounds with lots of woodland paths and forest walks with beautiful countryside views.
Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. They are in good decorative order with all equipment in good condition and good working order. Very pleasant well laid out Dining area serving excellent good Quality food. Enjoyed a very tasty breakfast and evening dinner and buffet while attending our daughters wedding celebration. Would recommend without hesitation for long or short breaks and definitely if you are planning a wedding.

Great hotel. The surroundings are beautiful. Quiet as well. The staff is very professional and helpful: The day I checked in I was ill and my credit card failed on me and they were very nice and helpful to me.
The bedroom is very cosy. Everything is spotless!
I came for a business trip but would like to come back for some leisure time!

Booked a room for our 1yr old to see our friends for the weekend. I'm not sure if the booking staff have met any one year olds but you don't give them a fold out bed. We waited 6 hours to get a cot going down every hour to chase up progress and being fobbed off. During this time we had to hold our son after driving 250 miles straight after work we were both exhausted. Staff didn't see this as a priority to help. After almost no sleep we got up and the shower wasn't working properly this was followed with breakfast the high chairs were all dirty, none of the ones offered (I think we tried 5) were serviceable ( broken tables, securing straps some just taped together) again staff were not aware of this (so had no training on how the high chairs should work). We raised these points with the manager at the desk and they passed us off to someone else. After lengthy discussion we were offered a half price stay.. needless to say this is far from. Satisfactory resolution for a rather determined effort to injure our son through lack of due care.

Thank you very much for a lovely afternoon. Although it was Mother's Day it was also my Mum's Afternoon Tea Party, celebrating her 90th birthday!. We had a great time, Thank You to Bianca she stayed after work to look after us, what a star! I think you need to put more photos of your afternoon tea menu, as I was not sure what we were getting, but in the end everyone throughly enjoyed themselves and the food was wonderful!

Lovely setting and beautiful main building. Room was spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable, with no complaints. Bar staff were Ok and prices reasonable. Breakfast was very good quality and extensive selection. I would definitely recommend. Ideal if you were on a cruise from Southampton, just 10 mins from the docks.

Lovely building and grounds. Room a very good size and very comfortable. The leisure facilities were good but a short walk off the hotel grounds. Staff were a little inattentive and just missed on service.

On arrival all looked nice. Got to room, and could not even breathe. No air con. So looked for a fan. 1 tiny fan in a big room. Went to turn it on and faulty switch. We asked for a few as needed to circulate some air. They came with one. Also bar didn t have a full menu. I was so disappointed in this hotel I have just left and booked somewhere else. 1 star is to many
