Dreadful place, over priced and poor service. Limited menu and like canteen food. Honestly had better sandwiches from a garage than the ones with the afternoon tea. Extractor fan in bathroom didn't work, daughters bed was a broken zedbed. When attempted to address problems while there, I was told it was 'my opinion' and they said that I was getting a reduced rate as my employer was paying. Not sure why this would be relevant even if my employer had been paying, which they weren't.

Five stars for an excellent 2 night stay. The breakfast and evening meal was first class and the staff very attentive. We enjoyed a lovely spacious room and plan to go back again in the Summer.
The hotel was the venue yesterday for my granddaughter's wedding. The staff went to so much trouble to make sure everything went perfectly. The surroundings were stunning for the wedding photos. The food was delicious. Many of us stayed the night and I can honestly say as did many others that this is the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. A big thank you to all the staff for making the day so special especially the staff you never see like the catering and housekeeping staff.
This hotel has all of the features of most hotels. They have beds on offer, toilets in the WC, television in the room, even a shower/bath in the WC, I could go on. The restaurant and pub are servicable, no complaints. There are some walks in the gardens you can take, and a fitness center with a pool and sauna.
Too small for the family word and an extra bed for 3 years old my soon ! so there was no room in the no spaces 2 ninth and 1 hours whathing checking in the room! not good service!
This hotel was very disappointing. The check in and check out was very slow. We were overcharged on checking out. The room was a good size and clean although we found the bed uncomfortable. The evening meal was mixed - the two starters were good. The guinea fowl was excellent but the Cajun chicken burger was over cooked and therefore dry. The red velvet cake desert was very dry. The service in the restaurant was slow. Breakfast was good although the extra hot water that was requested with the tea arrived at the end of our meal.
I am afraid it`s just 3 stars, main reasons being the 10 AM check out time, we went for a one night stay with dinner and we had a few glasses of wine and it didn`t feel good to wake up at 9 on a Sunday on our weekend night out. We chose the hotel because it had a pool and a sauna which go hand in hand for a spa experience, with both saunas not working it didn`t feel like that anymore. Advice, if going for a spa evening at any hotel, call first to see if the facilities are working. Staff was great and rooms as expected, restaurant experience was also very nice with good wine and good food.
Great place lovely staff , good food, down side pillows we're too hard and no other choice both of us struggled with them , so would definitely stay again just would have to take our own pillows.
Chilworth Manor is a beautiful building situated in picturesque grounds. We had an afternoon tea there in celebration of our wedding anniversary. The food was delicious with a variety of sandwiches served in a range of breads. The scones were fresh and warm. My favorite part were the desserts. On our serving stand we had macaroons (each uniquely flavored vanilla, strawberry, coffee and pistachio), two baklava, a small raspberry cake, coffee cake, carrot cake and two fruit meringue nests. Everything was truly devine. The service was incredible too, when we told the waiter that it was our wedding anniversary he gave us two complimentary glasses of champagne. It really was a perfect afternoon tea and I would highly recommend you visit.
Attended a couple of weddings here. Beautiful building and grounds. Staff were nice. Food good. Wedding decor was stunning. Very expensive drinks but I suppose that's to be expected.
Absolute terrible experience. My husband booked for me a spa day with overnight stay as a present to get pampered and had a good night sleep. Well, certainly this is not the right place for that. I had a long way to the room, to discover that the electronic key was not working so I had to go back to the reception were they say that happened because the key was close to my phone (it wasn't) or because I did it very quick or very slow (I've been easily using this kind of key in hotels around the world). They gave me a new one so again the long way to the room to find that this key didn't work ether. On the restarant the waitresses and waiters do not know the table's numbers or they are really distracted, they were offering the wrong dishes to the wrong people and the same with the bills, that happened again during breakfast. The mattress was like a stone, a lousy false fire alarm woke me up the only day that I could sleep a bit more. In the morning the breakfast was interrupted by another false fire alarm and we have to evacuate. To complete my lovely stay I had an allergy reaction in my skin because of the products that they used on the spa. The manager certainly did not care, speaking with her was a waste of time because they are always right and you are always wrong, the old times when the customer was always right and they apologies for the inconvenience are gone. Basically they "saved my life" not only once, twice! from a fire that never existed. Awful experience.
The location is nice, wide and open with lots of grassland and a beautiful building, as you walk in you are greeted by a nice wide open bar with tables for lunch g and a separate room for breakfast. All staff are lovely and friendly. Overall a lovely place to go stay or dine.
Slow service at the bar to place orders, slow delivery of basic food order - sandwiches, maybe the speed of delivery explained the slightly stale dry bread on the sandwiches.
May I take much pleasure in saying that the standard of the gardens at Chilworth Manor has improved so very much over the past month. The walk around the garden has over the past few years shown a steady decline, now it has started to get back to the high standard one should expect when staying in such a beautiful hotel. Well done to the team and may the good work continue.
Special deal including eve meal n breakfast, 3 course dinner very good vfm. Don't bother upgrading as not really worth it. Breakfast make sure you get there before 8:30 or not much left. Room lovely grounds amaxing
Attended breakfast, and although the food was fairly good, it did feel overpriced. Service was ok - it was hard to get the attention of staff, but they were helpful once you did
Location very good, rooms also of a high standard. Staff and systems very poor. Ordered a sandwich, took an hour to arrive, and had to chase otherwise would still be waiting. No leadership evident.
I went to the manor for my year 11 prom and it was a great evening, the food was very good and the staff seemed to care about the costomer (which is difficult to find nowadays). I would recommend iy
Lovely hotel in it's own grounds. The fire in the hall and bar was lovely.Staff were very friendly and helpful. The leisure facilities were good although not attached to the main hotel. Breakfast was nice but service and availability differed on the 2 days we were there. Would recommend.
Brill staff, very clean and tidy.. the food is reeeeally good. only con is the sat nav (google) doesn't give you the exact location which obviously isn't the hotels fault hence the 5* What far out weighs this small annoying sat nav issue is the 24 hour bar, with cold food served 24/7 wich we all no can be a life saver! and its fresh not shoved in a fridge for 12 hours. Also there are lifts to your floor.. only 3 floors where i was but a lift is sooo important with heavy bags! The clean down service (dont no if maid is a correct term) are like ninja's i stayed for 2 nights and i didnt hear them at all.. just notice the trolly as i left mid-morning.. I really cant stress enough though how lovely the staff are, i love the fact there are international workers from all over working hear.. all really happy to help, even had time for my kid who was running round being as kids are.. annoying. i actually felt comfortable to plug my phone on charge, sit in the bar area (second reception) and watch the world go by.. Thank you for a lovely time, ill be back
The place is lovely, good position, green all around. Rooms are nice too and the "club" with the gym, the steam room and swimming pool very relaxing. The service and the food are not the best.
Great time away Great place to stay. Food very good and staff very helpful and great fun. Would live to come back. Thank you for a great weekend break.
Amazing place to stay, loved the forest-like walking paths around the hotel. Everything was excellent except the fact that our room was in the 2nd floor and there was no lift. This is not a big deal under normal conditions but my wife was pregnant and we had to go up and down the stairs so many times. May be I should have requested a room in the ground floor but I had no clue as this was not mentioned explicitly at the time of booking. Still great place to stay. I even did some pregnancy photo shoot for my wife.
Good place but the breakfast areas were a bit uninviting. Perhaps it was because this place is popular with people going on cruise ships from Southampton and maybe it was an exceptionally busy time. Who knows?
Lovely place to stay , nice comfy bed the room was very clean. We went and had a swim in the pool, sauna and hot tub!! We will definitely be coming back to stay.
Situated on large and beautiful gardens adjoining a natural reserve, Chilworth Manor is a magnificent building. Our room was large and nice. Well equipped, with small fridge and good size bathroom . Lovely views of gardens and surroundings. Good bar and restaurant, with great choices. It also has indoor swimming pool, steam room, sauna, spa and gym. Really, great value for money.
Most of the staff were brilliant 99%, very helpful and attentative. Beautiful venue and grounds. Had hot water issues, but they were dealt with as quickly as they could have been, hotel manager acted very quickly and professionally. Overall a nice weekend retreat.
All in all the hotel is very nice, staff are good, very busy venue Breakfasts are good. We will be back.
A very nice place to stay at a very reasonable price. You need have no worries about booking this hotel. Room, staff and all very pleasing. Plenty of parking space. Very important.
It was a nice relaxing stay. The restaurant was good and the gardens very pretty. We didn't use the swimming pool which was in a separate building but it looked like good facilities.
Nice hotel, (mostly) obliging and friendly staff, bar poor if you like beer, bar snack choice poor and prices expensive. Rooms clean and comfortable, no lifts to 2nd floor which may be a problem for some.
Hotel and service fine, however Grounds which could be and were beautiful are now neglected and derelict. These grounds should be a feature not a liability
Hotel is beautiful, room was basic but adequate, cleanliness could be better, stain on bedsheet and hairs in bathroom.
Food has a mixed review, my wife had pork loin with mash which was very tasty. I had fish and chips which was very average, reminded me of a Wetherspoon meal but 3 times the price.
When it comes to eating i would highly recommend the Chilworth arms around the corner, the prices are similar but the food quality in the Chilworth arms is far superior
Beautiful building in lovely grounds with pleasant and professional staff.
If you look at the pictures you'll see that the children's beds were camp beds. Middle child couldn't sleep on it so managed to get a few hours on the sofa instead. Once the beds were in there really wasn't much room to move about so I moved the table and chairs outside into the corridor. The baby cot was good.
This is not a suite, these are not beds.
Also when we arrived the beds weren't set up so instead of relaxing into our room we had to vacate it for half an hour while they brought the camp beds in and set them up.
On the plus side the duty manager listened to my complaints and was able to give us some wine and breakfasts - thanks.
More positives - there is a room with games for children and the gardens and pond are beautiful.
Finally though, take a look at that toilet picture and imagine trying to sit on that. I have a picture of me trying, squashed up against the wall and with my left knee wedged under the toilet roll holder but apparently posting that picture night be 'upsetting for Some' according to the wife.
Had this been a booking for work, just me, I would have been over the moon but since there were 5 of us, it just wasn't what we expected.
Rubbish food. Noisy at night times. Won't be back.... Ooh and there'll charge the earth for a two night stay with all of my minus points of this polished poo of a hotel.
Staff are so good considering the management can only be described as somewhat amateur. Night staff need 3 calls to raise them. Hotel is in a lovely location, but it seems to now be little more than a stop off for cruise passengers.
