One bedroom suite with Club Room access was an absolute gem for a Christmas vacation.
River view from Club Room where we had our breakfast daily and canapes and drinks in the evening. Our suite had king sized bed, 2 tvs, massive bathtub. Free WiFi. Staff very attentive and friendly. Highly recommended.

My friend and I had the loveliest catch up yesterday in the Firewater Grille. We had the Free Flowing Sparkling High Tea and it was worth rating! The food and sweet delights could not be faulted. The restaurant is lovely, the teapots are gorgeous, the teacups are fine and delicate and the sparkling wine is indeed free flowing. Thank you to the staff for making it such a fun day for us :)

The Duxton itself is a beautiful establishment, always clean and professional everytime I've dealt with them.

Beautiful venue, great staff, unfortunately food is a disaster. If you are gluten intolerant avoid the food here. Salmon over cooked and tasteless. Felt like Manu asking where was the sauce? Was hoping for a come back with dessert and a chocolate brownie. Epic failure. Couldn't get my fork through the brownie it was so hard and dry.

My husband and I stayed here recently for 1 night. The accommodation was average. The breakfast far too expensive for what it was and should have been included in the price of accommodation.

Had tea and scones in the cafe - the scones had clearly been in the freezer and were perhaps reheated in the microwave as they were still frozen in the middle.

To access to pool area was extremely difficult as I am on crutches and had to navigate my way up several stairs. The pool area is tired and needs an upgrade. Pool not hot enough. Kids running around splashing with no supervision from parents so we left.

The spa is very tired and did not look very inviting.

Overall, a very disappointing experience for a 5 star hotel.

Money Grubbing Wedding Experience

Money Grubbing Wedding Experience

My husband and I frequented the Duxton Hotel and had enjoyed our hotel stays here over the years. We were therefore extremely disappointed at the following issues that occurred on our wedding day 18/08/2018. No refund or apologies will make the difference as it is a day that cannot be repeated. The issues were as follows:
1) Waiter demanded we pay the bill in FULL 1 hr before our reception closed (5pm) even though we were staying overnight at the hotel and even though our wedding event had not finished yet. We were told we had to pay 'before we left the function room". To add further insult, he didn't account for our deposit. The wedding coordinator emailed me 1 week later, simply stating ' since I chose to pay in full, what account would I like my deposit returned to?"

2) We had all our function room decorations in clearly labelled boxes to unpack, and was told Duxton staff would help pack down our items. The Duxton staff THREW ALL THE BOXES AWAY, and then EXPECTED THE BRIDESMAIDS to put the items away! Luckily I had spare boxes in my room and after a stern discussion with the venue coordinator, they agreed to pack down our items!

3) We paid for the same king suite the night before and the night of the wedding. We checked out at 12noon Sunday. My husband realised at 12:30pm Sunday he had left his suit behind (which was a bright red Chinese suit). When he went back to retrieve it, housekeeping had already thrown it in the basement amongst the other lost property. Could housekeeping not alert the room clerk to give us a call? Is it not obvious since we just checked out half an hour ago to give us a call?

5) The alternate drop menu - Turns out guests are not offered the option. It is automatically assigned to the table and guests have to swap amongst themselves. If we knew this was going to be the case, we would have gladly indicated the food preference for each guest to prevent this situation. The coordinator told us guests had choice when they did not.

6) We were offered complimentary parking spots but the staff made it extremely difficult for the guests to park. It was not explained until the night that complimentary parking meant 'you park your car yourself'. If valet staff take your car, it was a $50 fee. This was not explained to my photographer whom I assigned the complimentary spot- when she introduced who she was and said she was signing in, the valet took her car and she was billed $50 the next day.

My brother was also on the list of complimentary parking. When he double checked to see the parking was free, the concierge then explained to him no, its $50. He then asked whats the free part then? The man explained the spot was free, but my brother would have to park the car himself, which he was willing to do. However, the concierge refused to allow him to park his car UNTIL he checked in ?? The concierge demanded my brother quote his room number. This became a standing argument -how can a guest tell him the room number until he checked in? The concierge insisted that my brother had to check in first, before allowing him to park - he would not let him even keep the car there for 5 minutes. After all the commotion, the free spot was right in front of the door. my brother had to wait by the car so I could quickly check him in at the reception desk, all the while the concierge was giving us a hard time that my brother could not keep his car there or park his car until he checked in!!

7) The housekeeping took all the alcohol but left the food behind during the "free Complimentary drinks and Canapes for the bridal party". As we were rushing to get ready for the lunch reception, we had a few unopened bottles of beer and champagne that was offered to us, but we finished most of the food. Housekeeping took all the alcohol, but left the empty plates of food behind.

My husband and I checked out several venues for our wedding but none came close to what we found at The Duxton our last search.

We decided this venue for many reasons including best customer service, quality, quantity, polite and hard working attendants/waiters/staff/cleaners, Reception staff, reasonable prices, extremely clean venue including the toilets, honesty and above all our most amazing Wedding Coordinator Rebecca. This lady blew us away with her politeness, patience and keeping us regularly informed of the process from our first meeting with her to the day we married and even after. She was accommodating and made us feel comfortable. I felt a load off my shoulders as I left the major plans to her in confidence.

The guests raved over the service, cleanliness and well organised wedding. Everyone loved the food .. so a massive shout out to the cooks, chef and kitchen staff. My family and friends haven t stopped talking quality and quantity of the food. Yum yum yum!!!

Thank you to All especially Rebecca from the bottom of our hearts for everything you did for us and our guests. We were all blown away and couldn t fault any of you. Everything went smoothly to plan.

I must make mention again of their honesty. The staff found one of our expensive gifts which had sentimental value and we were so thankful to get it back. Where do you get such genuine service these days.

Thank you Rebecca for being there every step of the way and the truth is, we couldn t have done this so well without your expertise and hard work. Honestly you need a promotion you re a huge asset to the company.

We had the most amazing time celebrating our Wedding in November 2018 and didn t want it to end.

I will definitely be using The Duxton again for any occasion or even just to eat their yummy food

We very highly recommend you
check out The Duxton even before other venues. It ll save you time and energy searching. They have all you need.

Good luck and blessing

Perfect location; close to both the shopping area and the parks! There are bikes available for rent and a lake right down the hotel with a running track where you can bike or jog. It's a good idea to go at sunset time to catch some magical views :) The rooms are also big, comfy and very clean.

We stayed in a Club Room with access to the Executive Lounge. Fabulous experience. The standard of cleanliness of the hotel was excellent. The Brunch at the Firewater Grille was of a very high standard and extremely well priced. We will definitely return.

We had several issues with our room. The shower door didn't close properly so the water went all over the floor. When we turned on the jets in the spa bath, hair and other bits came out. One of the towels had a hole in it, and the complimentary milk in the mini fridge was already opened when we went to use it.

Stayed at deluxe room, very basic but spacious and clean. Big whole in one of our bath towel. Tried to write phone number on piece of paper and pen was broken.
Breakfast is basic but fresh. Staff with no smile , cold and not welcoming. After breakfast, we said thank you to restaurant supervisor, she did not response. Also we said Good morning to the housekeeping lady on the 6th floor corridor, again no response. No hospitality. Very dissapointed. Not recommended.

The facilities are a bit old but a very good hotel with a sense of stability. Rather than using CAT, you can get to the city center in one zone by using a free bus that goes out in the free zone every 5 minutes. Return is the same.
The view from the room was very good.
It is definitely recommended given the price.

The 5 stars are the very good Stekhouse which is located in the Duxton Hotel. So if you want to enjoy a delicious steak in a pleasant atmosphere, is here in the right place. Very good wine list and a reasonable price for money. Come again.

The rooms are a good size. Staff are helpful. Very very clean everywhere. Strict timetable for eats and drinks. There isn't anywhere you can have a coffee and catch up with a friend from breakfast until lunchtime. The same applies from lunch until dinner time. I found this awkward as I was only in Perth for a couple of days and was hoping for a few 'catch ups'.
