Berjaya Le Morne Beach & casino Resort Review

Easy way to middle, but demanding to the top. They should install chains on steep rocks.

One of the most beautiful hotels of the Lux *: if you want to take a quiet holiday or you are kite or wind surf enthusiasts you are in the right place.
If instead they propose you this hotel telling you that there is always good weather and you are well connected to the rest of the island ... no they are kidding you the Morne is often windy and it rains as usual on the rest of the island and more it is far from everything, the nearest town worthy of the name is the Golette and there is only one supermarket and a few restaurants that are not really worth the trouble

Super located hotel, at the foot of the Le Morne Brabant mountain.
Very attentive and above all friendly service.
The facility is in top condition. The gardens are very well maintained and all paths can be reached barefoot if necessary.
Breakfast still has room for improvement, there is absolutely nothing wrong with dinner.
The rooms (superior) are adequately sized.
The absolute highlight is the use of the hotel's own app, which can be used to reserve activities for dining out or chat with the lobby in real time.
From the telephone booth in the lobby it is possible to make free calls anywhere in the world.
The hotel offers its own free ice cream in various flavors

A beautiful, tranquil hotel with the best beach in Le Morne. Amazing gardens where you can always find a quiet spot. The rooms and beds are large and luxurious. The food is great. The fisherman's buffet is the best meal I've had in 20 years, no exaggeration. The staff are all lovely and kind.

Two months to the day ..... November 21, 2019.

This time for a family lunch at "The Kitchen" restaurant in a sumptuous setting. A sincere warm welcome and perfect supervision. The staff always attentive and always there when needed, while respecting the privacy of customers. The meal was downright delicious and quite generous. The palm kernel salad was exceptional in its composition and the result just as elaborate. It is absolutely necessary to mention the homemade ice creams and sorbets ... to die for. We had once again a great time in this enchanting setting at the foot of Le Morne. Special mention for all the attentive, kind and very available staff.

I can only recommend this establishment.

Perfect destination for a honeymoon. We loved how Lux Le Morne kept surprising us every day. It was an unforgettable experience.

Beautiful hotel, in an idyllic paradise on earth, just left I wanted to go back, many activities available to do on site.

The perfect place for a trip for two, the location of the hotel next to the amphibian at the foot of the La Morne Brabant mountain. Very atmospheric hotel with a high level of service, I highly recommend it.

Beautiful hotel with fantastic staffs who would go beyond your expectations to make your stay as smooth and pleasurable as possible. The food was amazing with ever smiling people around. The atmosphere was peaceful and friendly. I highly recommend this hotel.

Been at the public beach restaurant beside the hotel. Nice location and nice idea to offer food and drinks to people at the public beach.
Good is the Flying Dodo beer.
Bad, there is as per the guy at the cashier no real vegetarian choice there beside fries and green salad.

A beautiful area, although not very large. Friendly staff. Especially Russian-speaking Olga, who met us. I didn t really like the beach, debris of coral and boats are standing, from which the water itself stinks of fuel. I think the price is a bit overpriced. It is not always convenient to walk with a stroller, you need to lift it and this is a big minus.

Hight prices, but they have one of the Best beach in front. During the day also horse ridding available and other activities

Love the place room's are clean and all the rooms are in front of the beach and even you can enjoy the sun set from the room. Food is excellent but if you are vegetarian then you have very limited option for food

Perfect 5* all inclusive resort. Staff service and amenities are top notch. Everything about the stay was fantastic. Comes at a premium price however.

This luxurious hotel is almost flawless - we only stayed there for a couple of nights during our Mauritius-trip, but we were blown away by the attention of the staff, the little surprises throughout the day and the way we were treated during our stay.

Whoever goes through the other reviews here will pretty soon find out, that is is probably the place you want to stay at - if you can afford it. I only want to highlight the extraordinary things that we noticed and which stand out of the majority of other hotels:

-) One afternoon, out of nowhere, a staff member lighted a small fire and laid out marshmallows and pineapples for us to roast. An awesome treat!
-) We had some days with bad weather and all video-on-demand movies (and there are plenty) were free of charge until the weather got better.
-) A guy came to us at the beach and asked us if we want our sunglasses cleaned.
-) On the day before our departure, we were provided with a bag that we could put our wet clothes in in case we want to go for one last swim without gettig our clothes wet.

This were just a few of the neat little things that made our stay so enjoyable and we can recomment this hotel to anyone!

Regarding the pricing, I want to point out, that contrary to other hotels on the island, we never had the feeling of getting ripped off. For example - there is an extraordinary asian restaurant in the hotel called 'EAST', priced a little bit on the high side. BUT: You get dips, an appetizer, a lovely atmosphere and top-notch service for free. Also, if you are on half-board, they add 800 MUR *per person* to the bill, so after all we only paid 20-something EUR extra. As a sidenote, the Pad Krapaow Gai was the best I ever had outside Thailand.

There is not a lot to criticize, just a few things I want to point out:
-) Service tends to be slow and inefficient when there is not a lot going on in the restaurant. Once the place fills, they are very attentive and fast.
-) The hotel, on several occasions, points out that shorts and flip-flops are not tolerated during dinner; yet a lot of people show of in the restaurant looking exactly like that. For the management: I have no problem wearing long pants and closed shoes, but I fail to see the point in the dress code if others simply ignore them. I personally would have loved to go with shorts, yet I like to adhere to policies to create a more elegant environment.

Top at all levels we can just note a lack of mattresses on the sea side which drives the unpleasant behavior of the reservation with a towel super nice staff but overpriced drinks

Beautiful hotel, the rooms are spacious (superior room, so the cheapest) with a great bathroom and very well equipped. The restaurants are excellent, including buffets which are amazing. The staff is always very kind and helpful. Just a little bit about the service at the beach, but it really depends on the place on the beach and donations from the person taking care of the area.
We took the "all inclusive", it allows you to really eat more than reason and drink at will. What is on offer is more than enough with a choice of excellent wine and very good cocktails.
For the price paid, we expect no less, but we are not at all disappointed!
It is also probably one of the most beautiful places in Mauritius, overlooked by the mountain Morne, with a coral reef that protects the beach against large currents and large waves. It gives full west to see incredible sunsets.
We were also able to rent a car, take a trip on the Morne (by Local Spirit) and go swimming with the dolphins! (by Navy Boat, it's skipper Dan, he walks on the beach and proposes the tour)

Cheap excellent food. Friendly staff. Nice view. They have Nespresso coffee and some ice cream.

Simply perfect, in every possible aspect. Luxury has a new meaning. From location, to food, to architecture to sports and services, to the smile of the people. Every dinner is a feast. Just remember three things: the reef colors and life are not so bright as in red Sea or Maldives, it is quite windy and be prepared to walk if you want to get to the kite beach, it's thirty minutes by sea shore.

Great resort. Quite busy. Service sometimes a little off par given price but nevertheless a fantastic experience in beautiful setting with plenty of beach and lounger access.

Magnificent setting! The very large bedroom with dressing room and very wide and comfortable bed and always clean (thank you to the little housekeeping fairy, good job) !!! top cooking from breakfast to dinner and at the three hotel restaurants. to the director and to all are team (accessible and kind).
Special mention to ismael barman at the left pool as well as the waiter (pro and caring).
Special mention to the bartenders of the central bar are responsible and his team (Jeel, Vishaye, Abhi, Mitch + evening team) for the animation around the bar and their professionalism !!
DJ on top, but worth playing him more.
Track improvement creates a club / bar area for party animals.
Highly recommend the hotel.

Luxury hotel at a perfect location on the island !
Pros : breathtaking location on a coconut trees, white-sanded beach with transparent waters and beautiful corals & fishes ! The view on Le Morne is amazing as well.
Rooms and hotel design is in colonial style = lots of beautiful dark woods, ceiling fans, etc.
Very comfortable bed & nice to have a private outdoor shower (in some rooms).
Direct access from the rooms to the hotel s private beach.
Good (but not exceptional) choice of restaurants (main one is a buffet).
Very nice / cheerful service with attention to details.
Cons : just a few - WiFi coverage is far from perfect + bandwidth is not great (still usable), rooms would definitely benefit from some upgrade / renovation work, and access to the beache s deck chairs is on a first arrived rule !

All in all, 5 stars for this LUX* Le Morne !

I made a honeymoon exactly 20 years ago !! Real paradise, very good service in everything ... The only downside because I watch a lot of videos with the hotel where I stayed le pavilions is that I don't see anything different compared to the facilities at that time !!

Room service was.excellent n very clean. The environment was superb. The buffet especially on Friday.night was poor quality
No spices at all n for mauritian too simple n ordinary .It wad.not value.for money especially on Friday night.On Saturday Buffet wad awesome n the breakfast very good.

Very good restaurant, nice hotel with great care

This hotel is just a dream. The spacious, harmoniously furnished suites are spread over the grounds. The staff is very friendly and thoughtful on the well-being of the guests considered. Since we got married there, we were spoiled from beginning to end with many little touches. The food was very good and varied. The evening buffet was different every night and there was so much choice of freshly prepared food that we were spoiled for choice. The hotel dispensed as far as possible on plastic. This was reflected everywhere and deserves appropriate support. We will come back in any case!

Very disappointed with the staff.
Seeing skippers throwing their cigarette butts in front of the hotel, I allow myself to go see 2 members of the staff who were smoking so that they pay attention to the cleanliness of their beach, and that they supervise the good ones. behaviors within their hotel.
As soon as I had my back turned they threw their butts in the sand, adding in Creole "it's not a little white girl who will tell me what I have the right to do on my island" (pity I understand Creole).
Incredible contempt, poor education and therefore a deplorable image for a hotel that claims to be upscale.
What a pity !

I saw some various trough their butts away. I told the staff of the hotel that it would be good to advice them not to do so in order to keep the beach clean. They didn't accept my words and said "it's not a while girl who is going to tell me how to live on my island". Those purpose were said in Creole but hard luck, I understood the message. It's such a shame to notice such a terrible behavior especially at a time when most people realize the effort that need to be done for the weel being of the planet. Shame on the staff. Shame on this hotel!

Top hotel! You can also reserve meals as an external guest. Top service! Top kitchen!

It is not a picture book beach. Everywhere broken coral.

We had lunch at the beach restaurant. The waitress assured us that their gluten free bread and pizza are safe for celiac but my daughter got really sick afterwards.

I would like to write this review to acknowledge the outstanding service we have received at the LUX during our stay. The overall level of service is unparalleled compared to any hotel or resort I ever experienced anywhere in the world. The entire team has been absolutely amazing, making sure that anything that could be done to make our stay more pleasant was done in a pleasant manner. We celebrated our wedding anniversary during the trip and the hotel made sure it was an unforgettable experience.
Our special thanks go to Vimal and his catering team who made went out of their way making sure that our (and more importantly our daughter's) every wish was fulfilled, which made our life significantly easier.

I chose to admire the scenery of Le Morne! The location of Le Morne was a force beyond imagination! There are no shops in the hotel, and there are no supermarkets, so it is an all-inclusive hotel that you want to spend your time relaxing.
Anyway, it was luxury and all services were first-rate. I was invited to a beach party at dusk and enjoyed the sunset.

Quite large so don't expect personalised service but it is certainly 5 star.
Great food and they had entertainment in place every day we were there to try coffee and crepes and drinks.
Very special place.

We initially planned to spend 3 nights at Lux Le Morne before heading to the north to Lux Grand Gaube but as the first days were beyond beautiful we asked for an extension to 4 nights.
In brief:
Rooms: Our superior room furnished in colonial style in the first floor of a bungalow was very beautiful & spacious, top housekeeping & very silent. Curtains to keep out the light & bathroom with separate toilet (proper closing door), walk in shower & walk in closet.

Food: nothing was missing at all, very nice service & questions to be answered at any time (ingredients). There are three restaurants: The kitchen (included in halfboard), The beach (included except of menus last page & lobster evening), East (not included in halbboard but with 800 MS credit pP).

Hotel premises: everything provided you could ask for. Perfect beach w/ sand like powdered sugar, crystal clear water, watersports (SUP, waterski...) on complementary basis, fruit infusioned water at several spots, little things like small pizza sliced to be served at the spot or service to clean sunnies...
If you want you find shadow at many spots (loads of palm trees) the view is stunning from almost everywhere.

We swam with dolphins, boat started very early directly at the beach. We would like to recommend doing the tour with Skipper Dan (see contact details in one photo, you can find him on Instagram too.)
He has 25 years experience, knows Mauritius better than the back of his hand and offers fishing adventures too. We got beautiful GoPro material which was included in our private tour.

We will keep this wonderful travel to Lux Le Morne in our minds forever. Almost everyone was very kind but we would like to adress our special thanks to:

Nayaaz and the whole pool/beach team who made our stay so very special.
In fact their kindness was one reason for us to extend our stay. Nayaaz really made us feel like we were on our honeymoon even though we weren t. Team seemed extremely well coordinated and we enjoyed a pleasant atmosphere at all times.

Furthermore we would like to thank Faadhil who supported us at & Priyanka who arranged literally everything with Lux Grande Gaube.

Nice hotel with a secluded park and fantastic beach. Not quite as calm as stated as there are some couples with infants. The buffet (breakfast and dinner) is very rich. Drinks and snacks in between but very expensive. What does not work in 2019:
WLAN only in the room nationwide, and since only temporary. On the beach grottig weak and lucky thing! Total frustration !!!
