Excessively expensive. $40 for a tasting a 3 reserve wines is too much. You can taste reserve wines in other wineries for the price of the regular wines in here.

I had purchased 2 bottles of Chenin blanc and I set them in my wine rack. They blew the cork right out of the bottle.
We went to the $40 wine tasting in the Rhine house just before closing time and it was awesome. We were greeted by Matt who presented us the wine we tested and talk with us for about an hour. He was super nice and taught us many things regarding wines and comparisons between France and Nappa.
The wines presented were really good but I'm far far away from being an expert, I won't judge on that.
But we definitely enjoyed our experience here. I recommend it.
We visited the winery on our honeymoon and felt rushed and the sales pitch was very heavy. We ended up trying out a membership and one of the wines they shipped was bad; we called and emailed and they never made good and shipped out a new bottle. There are so many great wineries, I would recommend skipping over this one.
Giselle is a great host! Loved all the tasting experiences with her.
I have not been to the winery but today I purchased wine at the local grocery store. (Gorgeous estate photos!) I'm very selective with red wines because I prefer white wine but the Red Moscato is a semi-sweet wine with just the right tingly-on-the-tongue effervescence! I like recommendations.
Nice cave tour and beautiful grounds. Good wine and shop.
Gorgeous place to just visit even if you don't try any wine
Berlinger is a storied winery, got a good lesson in history here! Unfortunately didn t get enough time with their wines, still had a fun time.
Beautiful property, paired with good wine. A great way to spend an afternoon.
Had a private blind tasting with Carlos. Wines were awesome and Carlos was an amazing host. Cheers to a wonderful time in the Rhine house at Beringer!
I tried to open a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon MISTAKE! The stupid synthetic cork was so embedded and stuck that it broke my cork screw. I had to use a mallet and a screw driver to break it, which broke half the bottle neck... still the cork was stuck. Only with the help of a pair of pliers was I able to free the wretched cork! And after all that, the wine is below mediocre!
BEWARE THE IMITATION PRODUCTS FROM BARINGERS, WHO ARE TOO CHEAP TO USE REAL CORKS!!!!
Thank god it was a gift because I'd really be angry if I had spent my own money on their junk!
This is only my opinion.... I hope you have had a more pleasant experience.
I will start out on a positive note. The guide Jesus was great and very informative. However your description of the tour was misleading. I would not describe it as a culinary tour. Due to this fact I believe it was way over priced. Though I like Beringer wines, I did not buy any because of this issue. I would give it a 2.
Very nice grounds and wine. Kind of pricey but what isn't in Napa? You don't need a reservation but you can reserve tastings spots (probably recommended for busy season)
Not a wine fan, however this place was fantastic! Only took the 30 min tour, but Tim, or guide, was awesome!
I go to Beringer atleast once or twice a month. Their reserve wines are amazing and the reserve club comes highly recomended
Beautiful grounds with lots of history and multiple tasting areas. Staff was friendly.
The place is very beautiful, we did a wine tasting in which the guide was extremely attentive, explaining details about how to taste (in a room inside the surreal cellar), the history and processes of the Beringuer brothers. Very cool !
Nice estate. Distasteful wine. $30 for a 30 mins short tour of portraits of Beringers.
A beautiful estate. The wines offered in the tasting were hit and miss, but overall very good
We could not get through because we did not make a reservation
The place is amazing, Beautiful and clean
Excellent service, they are really nice. I just love it
Received a response from the ownership 4 days ago that I would be contacted, but still no response. Seems more like a social media band aid action from their side, unfortunately.
Requested to have our wines shipped to my work and the order confirmation said same, but was instead shipped to our private address. Also, requested to have the wines shipped with cooling element due to excessive heatwave, but they was shipped in a regular box with just cardboard dividers resulting in receiving Chardonnay Reserves lukewarm due to the heatwave in Southern California
Called their customer service and was told to take them out of the box and let it cool down before putting them in the refrigerator. Really, is that the passion they have for their own reserve wines?
This experience was not what I had expected from such a winery
Although it is a major winery, the staff was kind and there were a lot of reasonable wines.
Historical landmark. One of the oldest wineries in California. Don t book the cellar tour though because you can get just as much out of it from touring on your own
We really enjoyed Beringer! Joel was fantastic in the Old Winery!
We did the old winery tasting. Was really nice. You're not trying the mass produced wines that I think of with Beringer. The biggest draw however is the grounds. The Rhine house and beautiful gardens are a fantastic spot to grab a glass and relax.
We (a party of 4) went to Beringer and we were approached by an asian lady who started explaining the options in a way that made us feel like we weren't able to afford a $45 wine testing... that right away turned us off, no professionalism at all. We ended up going to Sterling instead, the service there was amazing, we talked with approx. 26 people there and all of them where welcoming.
Beautiful big winery and decent wine for the price. Came here for the 1st time with my husband for his birthday during covid and felt really safe. We became a member and spent $500+ yesterday and it was worth it. Thanks Nina for helping us on a busy day. Although, I would of given 5 stars if they cleaned up the handicap elevator because my stroller and I got spider webs all over us using it. Also, the man named Jose wasn t too helpful and seem like he didn t want to be at work or put in any work while only one just running 8 tables and he s just chillin by the door most of the time. Either then that I d be happy to come back as a new member with my husband again :)
Nice wine and nice garden!!
We bought many wines!!
Nice grounds. Veey family friendly. A lot of outdoor actvities. Not a fan of the wines but everyone has different tastes in wine.
We enjoyed our host and private tasting.
The grounds and home are beautiful.
Our purchased wine was very well packed and shipping was quick.
Highly recommend a stop a Beringer.
Average, inexpensive tasting for very average wine. Cool property
Our experience with the staff and service at Beringer Winery was top notch! We began our visit there by getting into a car accident as we were waiting to turn into their parking lot. Ryan Chernick the Assistant Hospitality Sales manager was on the scene instantly offering his help and seeing to our needs. Cynthia at the visitor center was very kind and helpful as we waited for a different rental car to be delivered. They presented us with a bottle of wine and free wine cave tour. The tour was given by Don and he did an awesome job. The wine is excellent and I highly recommend this winery.
Impressive and beautiful house. Tour was about 30 min, great tour with tour guide Jesus into the wine caves and tried four wines. Beringer one of the oldest wineries and it was a great first stop in Napa valley. Easy free parking. Free glass of wine for military. Went to Market for lunch (recommended!), 10 min away in town. Wanted to write this review to highlight Melissa, she was not our tour guide (she does Chinese bilingual tour) but she went out of her way to show us the way to the Beringer main house and explained the history. We really enjoyed meeting her and felt very welcome. Thank you Melissa!
Beautiful place. Friendly staff! Excellent wine selection!
The wine was overrated for its price, and service was bad.
Overpriced wine and rude staff that knows nothing about wine. Just take a look at how they serve it and at what temperature they keep it: way too cold. The only reason someone would serve something too cold is to mask its true taste.
The property is nice but that s it. Expect it to be kinda crowded.
This historic Winery founded in 1877 is definitely worth a stop if you are in Saint Helena. Take the tour, taste the wine, enjoy the environment.
Good wine, as expected. The tour wasn't as long as I had hoped. Still, the tunnel tour was worth it.
Getting a wine served in PLASTIC cups is a rare experience at a winery in Napa. Could have certainly done without it.
But when we later saw that other parties were drinking from proper wine glasses, the experience turned very bitter.
I guess this is what everyday DISCRIMINATION looks like.
Unfortunately, previous attempts to receive an explanation from Beringer did not yield in a response.
Conclusion: THE EXPERIENCE COULD NOT HAVE BEEN WORSE.
Krysta, our tour guide, was a delight. We had a large party (there were 10 of us) and she made it fun and engaging. The three wines we tasted were delicious, and she had answers to all our questions. I will definitely visit Beringer again!
A must stop in Napa for the wine, gifts and to checkout the amazing landscaping.
Taste of Beringer Tour - AWESOME
Thank you our great tour guide Jesus!
Interesting vineyard to visit as it one of the oldest vineyards in Napa. Wine is good but prices are too high
Great service! Annette was great and very knowledgeable about the wines and area - she gave great tips and really helped my boyfriend and I have a great experience!
It s a winery that I bought in Taiwan.
From evaluation to advanced red and white wines
And there is a Chinese tour, or a Taiwanese
From manor history to red and white wine production
Introduced in great detail
I usually drink wine from their home, and I can resonate with the introduction.
One of the finest wineries in the entire Napa Valley. Unfortunately I had to drive ....
I had incredibly high hopes at Beringer. It was a place I d long longed to visit after my parents came through in 1980s and made lifetime Beringer drinkers out of our family. Unfortunately, immediately upon our arrival this afternoon we were met with a lack of acknowledgment despite our attempts for 10 minutes in the Rhine House and what could only be described as dismissive hostility by the woman in the Welcome Center. If hospitality is everything, Beringer has nothing. Our party left with nothing but disappointment and no inclination to choose Beringer Wines in the future. I expected better and was throughly let down. Choose elsewhere. We had remarkable experiences at Cosentinos, Bouchaine, Grgich, Rutherford Ranch, and Mumm.
This of course is a large Winery which Mass produces a lot of wine. Some of their Reds are okay but overall it's a medium quality bottle of wine. There are some decent read that I have enjoyed in the past and some of their mid-level wines are very good for the price
One of Napa Valley's greatest wineries. They have a rich history and beautiful acreage. The staff here were spectacular. They let us sit down in their 2nd floor banquet room to do 'work.' Apparently that's where a lot of marriage proposals happen... like mine! :) Staff were super excited for us and it was amazing! <3 I highly recommend their tours; you get to try high quality wines and learn of the intricacies of their heritage.
Wife wanted to check out the area, looked well manicured and nice. Decided to split a tasting since we had a 20% off coupon of the standard lineup, not reserve. There wine was terrible, for what they were wanting to charge the only palatable one was a cab they wanted $65 for but to be honest, many in trader Joe's for around $10 was better... expected more, maybe the reserves taste better but not impressed at all, felt cheated out of our $20 tasting and time that could of been spent elsewhere...
The McDonalds of Napa Valley vineyards, I will leave it at that!
This is our second time here. The wines are amazing, Gisele is awesome, and the property is beautiful.
Reservations were easy to book online (covid times) and lucky for us, the air quality wasn t bad enough for them to cancel our reservation (smoke from Napa fires). This place is probably our favorite (we went to a few others in the area but concluded Beringer is our favorite). We got some sandwiches from the lunch menu to go along with the tastings (get the turkey pesto it is soooo good). Service was great and we learned about their various wines during the tastings.
Good time tasting and learning about Napa wine history with our guide Dave. They have some wonderful cabs and the property was stunning.
We stopped by for a late afternoon tasting at the Old Winery Tasting Room. While the grounds were very beautiful and the staff was helpful and knowledgeable, I was not so much impressed with the tasting itself. For $25 we were allowed to try only three wines. Most other wineries allow 4-5. The wine was good but for $25 dollars, I would expect more than just a few sips of wine.
Go here instead of Mondavi if you're with a large group looking for a touristy experience. Better service. Wine lovers go for the reserve tasting in the Rhine House.
We went here but the pictures on yelp and Google were deceiving. I didn't see the front view of the place. Wines are expensive here
While this place is a little institutional, the caves and the Rhine house are worth the visit. The Beringer wines here are so much better than what you find in the grocery store.
I would like to know if I visit yr wineries by myself( 4 person) by driving my own car, do I need to make appointing? need to pay any charges? Any specific date and time?
Founded in 1876 Beringer Vineyards is one of the oldest Napa Valley wineries in California and even prides itself on being the oldest in operation. It was the first to reopen in 1934 after prohibition and also the first to be opened to the public.
Coming from Mainz in Germany in 1868, Jacob and Frederick Beringer first settled in New York before learning that the rocky hills and the fertile Napa Valley looked like Germany. So they bought a hundred hectares (250 acres) there in 1875 and created their vineyard. Very quickly, they distinguished themselves by the quality of their wines and won numerous distinctions in the United States (San Francisco 1887, 1893), Dublin (1892) and Paris (1889, 1900).
Beringer offers several tours and several tasting formats, whether in the historic Rhine house or in the old cellar located just behind the old house. The tasting highlights Cabernet Sauvignon whether from the Howel Mountain or elsewhere, but above all the flagship vintage, the Private Reserve (nice 2014).
Not worth the price we paid. They offer 4 wines for tasting that you can easily get in your local stores. For sure, it was not a unique wine tasting experience.
The grounds are amazing, and the people are proud of Berenger. I had a great time, and I can't wait to go back. Money well spent!!
The select wine room area had a hostess who was not welcoming. We left and went to the more casual wine tasting room and our hostess was wonderful. The prices were better too!
Huge winery with a sub-par tasting experience. Wines were ok. Poor service
In our last minute visit from Napa we decided to take a tour and they were one of the few wineries that had 4 pm tour. It was nice and our tour guide was really knowledgeable.
Winery with nice grounds and live music, but the wine tasting can be pricey.
Came to this winery to taste the wines and stroll around the property. There are two wine tasting areas, one on the main building and one on the side, near the parking lot. Wines are very good, but tasting on the main building will cost you $40 which is pricey. On the other room is $25 which is more reasonable.
