Stopped by for picnic, stroll the grounds and watch the grape harvesting. Tasting room was packed but after a short wait, Ian guided us through a great tasting experience. This was our 5 day of wine tasting, Dry Creek is now our favorite winery. Best of all, the wine club first shipment is on the way!

The Sonoma County wine next to the Napa Valley is ...

The Sonoma County wine next to the Napa Valley is also good! Sonoma is the meaning of "Many Moons" in Indian legend, so the production area is also called "Moon Valley".

Sonoma is the cradle of California wines. Although there is no name in Napa Valley, many of the good wines produced here are rich and cannot be bought because the wine growers feel they want Doing winemaking, not business. Compared to the Napa Valley next door, Sonoma County is twice as large as the area, as well as numerous wineries and grape varieties. In this piece of land of about 1 million square miles, a total of 190 wineries have settled here. If you have time and enthusiasm, you can spend half a year here. In Sonoma County, you can find all the grape varieties in California. Come to Sonoma and choose the grape variety: Pinot Noir from the Russian River Valley and Zinfandel from the Dry Creek Valley. The World Wine Magazine only recommends drinking both in this area.

Our dinner, July 20th in the vineyard was once again a spectular evening . We look forward to this summer event every year. Kim , Mike, Amanda and the winemaker were most gracious. The wine pairings were wonderful with the delious dinner. Each pairing was richly described by the winemaker. This was our 3rd year and we look forward to the wine dinner.

Had a lovely Cabernet Sauvignon for $6. Darren & the gentleman at the bar were very friendly and laid-back. No appointment needed - you can just walk in, grab a table in the garden and enjoy your glass of wine. Highly recommended!

Dry Creek is a beautiful vineyard with a great history and some delicious wines. A family-owned vineyard in the Dry Creek region with a lovely picnic area, tasting room & insect garden. They take pride in not only their wine craft but also in preserving the region's ecology & resources. They have a few Sauvignon Blancs & Fume Blancs that are great for sipping on a hot summer day, but their Zins & Cabs are wonderful for pairings with food or enjoying with friends. If you are lucky enough to get Ian to host you, you will learn a great deal about the wines, the history, the region, and more! Worth stopping in for a taste or making a picnic of it!

They got a beautiful tasting room, all the staffs are very knowledgeable, we stayed about more than an hour, had around 8 different wines, fantastic zinfandel, also had some interesting whites as well as petite Syrah. Nick our host was very friendly and keen to learn from each other, one of the best wineries in our trip indeed. Definitely recommend it!!

We spent time here on Monday afternoon and it was our favorite of the day. Kevin was pouring our wine for the tasting and he was amazing! We felt like we were spending time with our family tasting wine and sharing stories. Every wine that was poured was delicious and full of depth. We really recommend taking time to go taste here and get a few bottles to take home! The people, wine, and ambiance are a perfect story. We walked out with a bottle of the Sauvignon Blanc, Petit Verdot and the Endeavour (get it!). We will definitely go back and you should go too! Thank you Dry Creek and Kevin!

The Healdsburg Jazz Festival was hosted here when I visited. I grabbed a bottle of the Old Vine Zin for $30. A good value! Smooth and good flavor. I did not taste any of the other wines - but enjoyed grounds watching and listening to the Jazz players. Dry Creek Vineyard is nestled in the valley amongst small hills. Picturesque.

Dry Creek is a popular winery, you can find their wines in the supermarket. A visit, however is worth it. We tasted a very nice Sauvignon Blanc, and ended up purchasing an interesting Verdot, a grape you don t see that often. Try some!

Beautiful grounds and vineyards. A picnic in the secret garden is now on my bucket list! The tasting room is very elegant with a nautical theme. Bob Antoniuc is one of the most knowledgeable wine pourers I have ever spoken too and knows an incredible amount of the history of the winery as well as what makes each wine special. And of course the wines are exquisite! I love how the labels are so transparent, giving you the details of how each bottle was lovingly created. You must leave with a bottle of the Endeavor! Can't wait to return.

Beautiful location and knowledgeable staff. The tasting allows you to choose 5 wines and threw two freebies which was nice. If you purchase or two the tasting is free. You can enjoy the tasting outside on their covered patio or inside with the AC. I would have loved the tasting outside but we had a baby with us and wanted to make he was comfortable in the heat. If you are in the area this is a great winery to check out!

I love wine tasting and do it often. I think wine is beautiful and appreciate the experience of tasting another persons' craft. At Dry Creek, not only are they so proud of what they do, they treat you like family no matter if you are a member or not. I had multiple AMAZING experiences here (between the wine, the staff, picnicking on the grounds etc) that I became a member and in 3+ years have never regretted it and expect to continue to be a member. Highly recommend a visit!

DCV remains one of the unspoiled gems of the valley. Despite being the legit OG vineyard of the Dry Creek Valley, they continue to evolve and create amazing bottles of wine at reasonable prices. I hope the Napa syndrome of overpriced wine despite decreasing quality never infects this hidden oasis of great, reasonable viniculture

About Dry Creek Vineyard

Dry Creek Vineyard: A Family-Owned Winery Crafting Quality Wines for 50 Years

Dry Creek Vineyard is a family-owned and operated winery located in the heart of Sonoma County, California. For over 50 years, the winery has been producing high-quality wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region. With a commitment to sustainable farming practices and traditional winemaking techniques, Dry Creek Vineyard has become one of the most respected and beloved wineries in California.

History

The story of Dry Creek Vineyard begins in 1972 when David Stare founded the winery with a vision to produce world-class wines from Sonoma County. He purchased an old prune orchard on Dry Creek Road and began planting vines, focusing on varietals that were well-suited to the region's climate and soil. Over time, he expanded his vineyards to include Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and more.

In its early years, Dry Creek Vineyard faced many challenges as it struggled to establish itself in a crowded market. However, David Stare's dedication to quality paid off as his wines began winning awards and gaining recognition from critics around the world. Today, Dry Creek Vineyard is known for its exceptional wines that showcase the best of Sonoma County.

Winery

Dry Creek Vineyard's beautiful estate is located just outside Healdsburg in northern Sonoma County. The property features stunning views of Mount St. Helena and surrounding vineyards as well as a tasting room where visitors can sample some of their award-winning wines.

The tasting room is open daily from 10 am-5 pm (closed major holidays) with no appointment necessary for groups under six people; however larger groups are encouraged to make reservations ahead of time so they can be accommodated properly.

Visitors can choose from several different tasting experiences including:

- Classic Tasting: This includes five current release wines for $20 per person.
- Reserve Tasting: This includes five limited production or library release wines for $30 per person.
- Heritage Club Tasting: This includes six exclusive club-only releases for $40 per person (complimentary for club members).
- Food & Wine Pairing Experience: This includes four courses paired with four different wines for $60 per person (reservations required).

In addition to tastings at their estate location visitors can also enjoy wine by-the-glass or bottle at their outdoor patio area which overlooks their beautiful gardens or purchase bottles online through their website.

Wines

Dry Creek Vineyard produces a wide range of varietals including Sauvignon Blanc (their flagship wine), Chardonnay, Zinfandel (including Old Vines), Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot blends among others - all crafted using traditional techniques such as hand harvesting grapes at optimal ripeness levels followed by gentle pressing methods before aging them in oak barrels until ready-to-drink stage arrives.

Their signature wine is undoubtedly their Fumé Blanc which was first produced back in 1972 when founder David Stare decided he wanted something different than what was being offered by other producers at that time - hence creating this unique style which has since become synonymous with Dry Creek Valley AVA where it originated from!

Sustainability

At Dry Creek Vineyard sustainability isn't just an afterthought but rather an integral part of how they operate day-to-day operations both inside/outside vineyards/winery facilities alike! They have implemented numerous initiatives aimed towards reducing environmental impact while still maintaining high-quality standards across all aspects related directly/indirectly towards production process such as:

- Solar Power Generation
They have installed solar panels throughout various locations within property generating enough electricity needed during peak hours thereby reducing reliance on grid power sources significantly.

- Water Conservation
They use drip irrigation systems throughout vineyards ensuring water usage remains minimal while still providing adequate hydration levels needed by plants during growing season thereby conserving precious resources like water!

Conclusion

In conclusion,Dry creek vineyards are one-of-a-kind family-owned business who have been crafting quality wine products since last fifty years. They offer various types/tiers ranging from classic/reserve/heritage club tastings along with food & wine pairing experience making sure there's something available everyone regardless if you're new/experienced taster. They also take sustainability seriously implementing eco-friendly measures wherever possible without compromising quality standards set forth by founder David Stare himself. So next time you're looking out try some new/exciting flavors head over dry creek vineyards either physically/virtually via website!
