Great spot for a visit while vacationing in Vermont
I have to admit that I am not an ice cream freak...but after tasting Ben & Jerry's new A medicine Dream, I'm hooked. Had no idea of their dedication to social and environmental issues. Will gladly gladly and proudly support this company!!!
We loved this place, but know that it gets insanely crowded so I would recommend going in the morning. We got there 30 minutes after opening and got tickets for a tour right away. By the time we left that was obviously no longer the case as they had filled up multiple parking lots. Tour takes about 30 minutes with free ice cream sample at end and costs liek $4 for adults and I think kids were free (if i remember right). Kids enjoyed doing tie dying and coloring outside and visiting the flavor graveyard. We ended up being here for around 2 hours. A must stop for families in the area.
Amazing factory, Great ice cream, if you are traveling through Vermont, go here.
You can look around the grounds. There are enough parking spaces available. Everything is designed so that even large numbers of visitors can be handled well. The tours start every 15 minutes and are divided into three phases. Advertising film about the genesis of B & J, look at the production and finally there is ice cream to try. The clock is tight and you are guided through quite quickly.
It might be crowded but it's worth the wait! Be sure to say hi to the cows!
Fun, informative stop. Great ice cream sample at end of tour!
The tour was only 4 dollars and included a scoop of ice cream at the end. The tour was interesting and informational. The gift shop has plenty of cool souvenirs and the ice cream shop has flavors unique to that location.
Awesome ice cream and the team is incredibly helpful !
It's a fun place to visit and the ice cream is delish.
Not worth the $4 admission price. After sitting through a 6 minute political speech the tour begins. Tour guide narrates a fifteen minute video.
A fun little place, but far too small and with a tour that left me wanting more.
Great ice cream! I wish we could have taken the tour!
Pretty decent job of balancing COVID safety and keeping the line moving quickly. Cannoli is probably my new favorite ice cream flavor!
Busy place. But very cool. Loved the factory tour.
I think you have to love B & Js ice cream to award lots of stars. Neither 70 somethings or 40 somethings adults cared for the RIP off $4 tour. Ice cream taste glimpse at the end. The tour leader couldn't give away the remaining 4 samples. The kinds we liked were probably in the graveyard.
I agree with another review, the tour leader was boring but he tried. Watched a later one yawn a lot waiting to take your money and lead another tour.
We did appreciate how B n Js came about and how ice cream is made tho they were floor mopping but the time we got there.
Oh well, bucket list checkoff as we drove thru Vermont. Next time we won't make it a destination.
Great family place with really good ice cream and though it is now owned and operated by Unilever it has still kept its original founders core ideas and sense of community. They give tours, offer ice cream making class and serve a variety of flavors. Lots of visuals, collectables, etc. Gift shop is small, there are stairs to climb or a path weather permitting, not for the faint of heart but there is a drop off and handicapped parking at the top of the drive. Bathrooms are small as well compared to the ratio of people that visit, plan accordingly in warmer weather. Four ice cream windows with two huge bay doors that open in warmer weather. My favorite part of B&J was the graveyard for retired flavors.
Ice cream, excellent! Video, not so good. A bit too liberal for a non-commercial.
Nice little wink, but the tour is not much, not sure its worth the detour.
Interesting, fun, beautiful, really good ice cream by the way.
Fun little tour that ends with a delicious sample. It's Ben & Jerry's what's not to love.
Great tour to start the day. I started at 10 a.m. Learned all about Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream. Tour guide had it down. Throwing in cow jokes, etc. Got a sample at the end. Went outside and got in line to order a waffle cone. Everything was great for my first Ben & Jerry's experience.
The tour was nice, short but nice. I expected a bit more explanation about the process, but I assume this was nit feasible. Overall a nice place to visitefor a couple of hours
Every current flavor plus a really interesting graveyard of retired flavors.
Great tour. Ice cream sample given. Ben and Jerry don't own this company any longer. Hate their stance on Black lives matter. Make ice cream and stay out of "politics". Will never buy this product due to this.
The tour was worth the low price! It was cool to see how they do their thing!
It was as much fun as eating a whole pint of their ice cream, a great tour and fun to learn how they got started. Great lesson on the opportunities in the USA. We will be back!
One item off my foodie bucket list! Did the factory tour & I definitely recommend it. The tour itself is not long and goes over the basics of how they make their ice cream. There is also a short political video message included in the tour, but it emphasizes the ongoing social advocacy Ben and Jerry's is known for. A nice sample is included at the end of the tour. There are also various other activities to do around the factory, including the flavor graveyard, children's playground and even making your own tie dyed shirt!
We love Ben and Jerry's! I have been coming here since I was little. It's very crowded during the weekend so go during the week. Ice cream as always is delicious and they have vegan options.
Nice stop on the way to Stowe. Tour last approx 30 mins; it starts with a video of Ben & Jerry...then off to see the production plant followed by a Q&A session and the absolute best part is taste testing at the end! You can't miss out on the Maple Walnut which is ONLY made in Vermont!
Standard corporate factory tour, with no real heart. Watch an advert-movie, listen to a "tour guide" speak from a script while a video plays reiterating everything the guide is saying, then huddle into a room and have a small cup of whatever flavor of ice cream they happen to offer that time. Certainly not informative, at least.
The Umiak tours of the factory backyard are sweet, though, so kudos to them!
The tour is fun but kinda short and this place is sure to get crowded on a rainy day. It s hard to say if it s worth your money. The gift shop is nice but things are on the pricey side. The tour includes a free sample of a flavor, and my favorite thing is that the sample isn t on of those cute mini spoonfuls, it s a whole scoop for yourself. Over all it was pretty pleasant experience. The staff was friendly and upbeat with their cow puns. The factory and facilities themselves are clean and nice.
During my vacation in 2015 I took part in a factory tour and it was great! Everything is nicely explained and at the end there is an exclusive tasting. :-)
It's a tourist trap with touristy things. The tour is quite short and doesn't really consist of much, but in all that's not really a serious con. It's nothing special but it's fine if you're in the area or a die hard fan
Some of the flavors were great and some were a bit icy.
Factory tour was really interesting, and love the free sample! Fun gift shop with unique shirts and gifts. You can purchase just about any currently flavor at the front of the factory. Tour guides are knowledgeable and friendly.
Fun and interesting place to visit. Factory tours available.
We did the $4 and enjoyed it. The tour is in the sections: Short video about Ben and Jerry's, a windowed room overlooking the factory floor, and a room where you're given samples and can see the research room.
One thing to note: There's never a really long line for the tours (but they sell several hours in advance), so if you join a line it's probably the one to buy ice cream.
Ben & Jerry's never disappoints! It's as fun and interactive for me as an adult (and my parents) as it was for me as a kid. :)
Just the ice cream was good, nothing really great about the factory tour. The tour guide was funny though...
An interesting little tour of the history of Ben & Jerry's ice cream. About $4 for adults and $3 for kids and seniors, starts off with a seven-minute movie, you go on a short tour to see the floor of the factory if they're making ice cream that they are doing something else, you get a tasting of their feature flavor and then you can continue your exploration as a software. Which includes exit through the gift shop and ice creamery. Delicious and delightful
The factory is really cool! Worth the tour and tasting. The souvenir shop is something worth visiting. Outstanding ice creams
Stopped by to check out the tour of the factory and grab a scoop. Interesting to see once, probably wouldn't go back.
You can't go wrong with the low cost of the tour and amazing ice cream. Even in the winter, this is a must see, if you're in Vermont!
We didn t want to wait for an hour for the next tour and ended up exploring the grounds and found the Flavor Graveyard. It was a delightful pun-tastic little commemoration of flavors long past.
We did see that the tour was just $4/person, which is relatively inexpensive. However, there was a line for just about everything whether it s to buy an ice-cream, signing up for the tour, or buying something from the gift shop.
Went here late on a weekday very easy no lines but it's also off season and was cold and rainy! There's multiple levels of parking lots but they are all pretty muddy so plan to walk and not wear nice shoes
Had a great custom cone
Tour takes less than 30 minutes and can be crowded, even on a rainy day
Fun place for a quick stop if you're in the area. The tour is informative, but not very long (some would argue it's the perfect length). Note that none of the machinery is running on weekends, so don't go expecting to see much action if you're not there on a business day. They have ice cream samples at the end of the tour, and a shop with more ice cream and souvenirs outside.
Kids get in the tour for free. Quick tour and you get free samples afterwards. The ice creams are huge that you buy.
Long line for the ice cream, well worth it. Glad I went
If you love Ben & Jerry's and are in the area you have to make a stop here!
The st Albans location for the first time has really had a lack of communication it not the company it's some of the peoples
A great Vermont attraction, this is the perfect place for a family outing. The tour is a great value at $4, and the kids are sure to love it as it is short and filled with cheesy jokes, and everyone gets a healthy sample of ice cream at the end! They even have special flavors on 4/1 The gift shop is relatively expensive, but the ice cream shop is pretty standard prices. There is a playground on site, some good photo ops, and plenty of parking. Would definitely recommend if you re visiting the state.
The tour is a great quick activity with a perfect amount of ice cream to taste at the end. Children under 12 are free, and outside the is a playground and plenty of space to run around. Fun and quirky, with the flavor graveyard and gift shop... I go at least a couple of times a year when we have visitors from out of town.
Interesting to stop there as a break for children, there is a playground on the site.
After that, it remains a factory so do not expect to see craft installations. Tubes, vats and a packing line are what we see.
Nice but not essential in my opinion
Nice tour of their facilities. RV 's can park in the parking lot up the hill.
Good ice cream. Fun tour. Loved the ice cream activism through the years:) Ice cream can change the world!
Nice if you come by, also many flavors available. If you are in this state then I would definitely stop by for a one-hour stopover, but I wouldn't go to Vermont specifically for it.
Took my fiance here for his birthday and had a wonderful time. Took the tour, watched a cute video and got a sample of ice cream. Also stopped at the gift shop.
Fun, but overcrowded. Tour was interesting and fun.
Who doesn't love Ben & Jerry's ice cream. They have so many awesome flavors to choose from... My absolute flavor is "Chunky Monkey", which is made with banana flavored ice cream, among other tasty ingredients...
Personally I am not a fan of Ben & Jerry's. That's good for what it is. The service is relatively fast and courteous. There is something for every taste. It only lacks soft ice cream.
This. Is. The. Place!
ICE CREAM!!!
Ben and Jerry s is a must-do for anyone touring Vermont. The ice cream couldn t be fresher! The tour is fun, and you can get a free sample of ice cream at the end. It is short, so try to get the timing right. However, be aware that the interesting bit is mostly a movie of the history of the establishment. The vermonster is a fun task for a big group, and it is worth having a bunch of the flavors you can t get anywhere else.
guided tour is great! especially sweet to end with a sample/taste of their world famous ethically produced Non GMO ice cream.
