Belterra Casino Resort & Spa Review

Small rooms and refrigerator didn't work but beautiful shops and restaurants

If you're a senior citizen who smokes a lot, this is the casino for you. Very nice-looking. Nice lobby. Rooms are clean. Plenty of staff.
The casino is tiny and smoke-filled. There is one tinier side room for non-smokers, with about 10 slots. But it's pretty smoky in there as well. About 30% of the slot machines were out of order. About half of tables were not open. On a Friday. Ate at Stadium. Food was average, but priced fairly high. Buffet for breakfast had lots of selection, but everything was bland... No flavor. Our room had one towel. Called for additional towel and told we could only have as many towels as there were guests in the room. Not sure if that's a cost savings thing or something, but was weird.
The crowd was definitely older. Seems to be a destination for seniors who smoke. Won't be back. Too many better choices nearby.

LOVE it! Was the cleanest and friendliest place I had ever been to. The staff was amazing and I cannot wait to go back!!

I have never had such a bad experience dining out as I had tonight at the Sports Grill. We were excited to try out the new restaurant. We go with two other couples. We put in our name and ask how long the wait is. We are told 20 mins. We go on the boat, for about 15 mins. thinking we will gamble after dinner. We go back to see how much longer and told it wont be long, another 15 min..we ask again and told 10 mins. While I am asking a guy butts in front of my and puts his name in for dinner. I commented "its a good thing I already had my name in, or I would be upset for him being so rude". So we wait even longer...now we are up to 2 hours! The two tables for 6 are now both open, but needing cleared. I ask the hostess if she could ask they clear the round table first. She said, yes. She went around to speak with the girl clearing the table. About that time a guy came over and started clearing the round table, I thought fine its just speeding up the process. NO..they both stopped and started clearing a little table for 4. She then goes back over and starts clearing the long table, she gets it clear and a group from ran over and sat down. No one told them to move! The other party of 6 ask if they can sit at the round table, another hostess say's yes! I told her, oh no we have been waiting for 2 hours and we were here before they were. She still takes them over to be seated. I look at the manager and told him, what was happening and he said, oh I'm sorry and sits us down in the back. Why did we have to wait 2 hours for that? If all they had to do was push two tables together, they could have done that the first 20 minutes we were there.
This is absolutely the worst place I have ever had the experience I suffered tonight. Had we not been so hungry and thinking that it would "only be a few more minutes" we would have left.
You better get someone in there that knows how to manage a restaurant or that place is not going to last 6 months.
I can guarantee you we will never be back again.
I am still so upset I can't believe I wasted that much time and the food was so terrible. I don't know which I am angrier about. That I waited that long, put up with all the crap and to top it off the food sucked!
Good luck with that place...let me know in 6 months when that place goes under how right I was!!!

Very smoky!! But a wide variety of games and a very good buffet

View of the river wasn't very great, but the bathroom was wonderful and the inside of the room was great. Everything was very clean and staff were very friendly. Breakfast bar in the morning did not disappoint. The omelets made to order are delicious! And the biscuits are warm and fluffy. Would definitely visit again.

First time going to the stadium to eat with some friends. What a huge disappointment when greeted by unfriendly staff when we were told there was no tables but could sit at the bar area . By the way there was 10 empty tables that would of accomodated the 3 of us. To be waited by the worst personality as a bar tender. What a horrible experience for a Birthday celebration and all of us spend a fair amount of money at the casino. May need to rethink that one.

The best customer service. Hotel is awesome and clean. Many choices for eating. Spa is great

Had a very exciting experience today!! Very friendly atmosphere. I won some money and came out whistling!!

We stopped by to eat at the restaurants. We ate at the Stadium grill. It was a Sunday afternoon and not very busy. It took almost an hour to get our food. The food tasted good and was a reasonable price.

Always nice and clean, but cant win shyt! Have NEVER WON a jackpot!!!

It was ok. Prefer their race track by Cincinnati though.

Fun, lots of fun and activities. Food is good, rooms are nice, spa is convenient.

I went during the week so it wasn't that busy. Actually did win a few bucks but typical put it back into the machines.

Called 3 or 4 times trying to make a good Birthday experience for a friend. Room location was bad, not what I asked for. Asked for a special delivery for b day girl.didn't come. Ask for couples message didn t get that either. When I told front desk they didn t see to care at all. The vip of quest told me she would make a note. Well isn t that great. Won t be back. Going to French lick next time. 1 star at best

*** Warning: (and this can be verified) emergency evacuation alarm woke up everyone before 4am..no guidance was given..old people with disabilities had to climb down 12+ floors. Al clear wasnt given for over an hour. Not even an apology***

I throughly love belterra. I only go when I have free nights because it s a nice little get away for a couple of days. I like the shops and buffet as well. Staff could have a little more giddy up in their interaction (be more genuine and happy) especially in the food area that s open later than all the other ones. I hope that belterra has a update in rooms in mind sometime soon. All the rooms look exactly alike and i feel as if when you go in the building its showing it s age. Especially in the carpets and decor. Nevertheless, it would take a lot for me not to return as I said I like it. I would definitely rate it a 5 star if things I said above would improve.

Convenient and nice assortment of food in all price levels!

While I didn't stay the night, I had a lot of fun at the casino. The desk workers were helpful and there was a ton of stuff to do. My only complaint was the bar was rather lacking in variety.

Problems with getting bonus cash from machines and reaching host

Belterra at such a beautiful place wonderful atmosphere. Employees treat you decent they're helpful. will be going back to Belterra love my comps I get from them I just don't know what more to say Belterra is an amazing place to visit

Buffet used to be exceptional. Not so much now. Slots are tighter than I like but they do move new ones in on a regular basis. Rooms are always exceptionally clean and well maintained.

Food is fair at best, but high in price. Too many machine games for me, I prefer table games, and there are few of those, especially on a busy day.

I had alot of fun celebrating my birthday with my daughter!!

The stadium always has great food. The potato soup is great.

The hotel rooms are super nice and some have really good views. The bathrooms are luxurious if your in a deluxe room.

The restaurants are pretty good. Food was good at the sports bar and buffet is good too.

Nice golf course with its own little restaurant.

Casino is nice too and chances of winning are pretty good. But the House always wins. The Rewards and promotions arent that bad either.

Not bad. Non smokers section tiny. Gambling limited. The shows have some decent headliners.

Love this place. You feel like a winner whether you leave with a load of money or not, at least you get a little play for it.

My son loves it. I'm so glad that theres things he enjoys. He is autistic and absolutely adored the staff and the atmosphere here. He asked every Wednesday night if its belterra weekend and to know he truly looks forward to going and enjoying a welcoming place is truly a blessing as a parent and as a patron.

The new owners seem to be cutting back on spending money on entertainment.

The place is always clean and the people are always friendly.

Great place. The beds were comfortable, the room was fantastic. Pretty fancy for us and we enjoyed the experience !!

We visited on a Monday and it wasn't crowded at all. Nice to be able to stay and play in our motorhome nice level lot.

One thing that I like the most is it is still a boat.
It might be me but, I really don't care for 1 floor for everything.
Break it up on the decks and have more no smoking than smoking, that would be awesome.

Update to my review..

Just visited French Lick Casino and I like it but , I still get turned around and don't remember where I was on a slot. It's just me so I am told. No sence of direction . Lol

It's a nice getaway for a change and the staff is pleasingly nice and will respond quickly to ur needs. However it would be nice if the pool was an inside pool and open to attending guests around the clock and during colder months. Also it would be really nice if the disabled guests would be provided a scooter along with a room rental instead of out of pocket pay for the disabled who really needs them. I can't walk very far nor stand very long and really needed one but they told me I would have to pay a required service charge in which I feel was excessive and it so much easier for me to enjoy myself I'd I could've gotten around with a scooter. But the rooms are nice and clean and peaceful.

Room reeked of cigarette smoke but the buffet staff and food were pretty good and friendly.

VERY DISAPPOINTED Will not go back. Could not have any beverages on the gaming floor. Confined you to drinking them in the smoking room and no machines in there were working. We called ahead to ask about drinks and smoking and was NOT told the whole truth. If we had known you could not sit at a machine or table and have a beverage we would not have went. Gentleman on the floor escorted me to a room because I had a beverage in my hand and was not real nice about it. They also were not wiping down any machines when a person got up from them either.

Love the place. Very clean facility and friendly staff!

Really great, helpful staff. My room was perfect, though the pillows were too soft. Loved the tub and bathroom! The on-site sports bar was delicious, and the breakfast buffet was perfect and HUGE. I was here for a work event overnight, but I would certainly want to return again.

Inviting place to have dinner and fun slots. Hotel rooms are very nice and weLL kept.

Good food clean rooms nice atmosphere in the casino

The staff was friendly and very helpful. The room I stayed in was very clean and nice though the tub drained to slowly so I had to stand in water because it didn't drain fast enough, it was a very minor issue. All in all I would recommend this place to others The golf course was very nice and a great course to play on.

Nice golf course, but kind of in the middle of nowhere.
