Bel Red Energy Solutions Review

Do not get service from this place. Planning on getting central air conditioning installed and scheduled a 2-3 PM estimate and they don t even call to let me know that they are running late. Gave me some excuse of the consultant getting an emergency call and promised to call me back with a more accurate eta. Never received a call back.

Fernando O, Dustin H, and Russ H were timely, professional, courteous and absolutely respectful of the surroundings as they performed their scope of work (and then some...). This is clearly a case of "walking the talk" that BelRed professes.

Great experience. Very professional, clear communication and honest estimation and billing. We had a small issue that they resolved immediately. We would definitely use them again.

I have been a long time customer of Bel Red, they serviced my AC and furnace for about 10 years. As I started looking into replacing both (AC was 25 years old, furnace getting close to 17), I started doing my homework and Bel Red came through with a competitive offer and based on my previous experience with them I didn t hesitate to sign with them. The install took about a day and a half altogether and exceeded my expectations. Lead installer Jose and technician Cody went above and beyond to make sure that every detailed is taken care of. I had a weird setup for my previous AC (coil in the crawlspace in a narrow area), they spent more than one hour together in my narrow crawlspace removing the old coil, pump, wired, tubes, etc., installed a new screen outside the house where everything was coming through from under the house. Since that was the first day and they were running late in finishing the furnace install, they decided to stay late so that we can have heat that evening. Next day, as they were setting things up there was a noise coming from the furnace, which turned out to be because of the incline of the condensation pipe. The very first thing they did the second day was to correct the angle of the pipes so that the problem is fixed. They also decided to run a new wire in the crawlspace as the previous one was made of two different pieces/with different number of wires, which in the end made the setup/reuse of my Nest thermostat a very straight forward process. Everything was sealed properly around the pipes, Jose spend a lot of time ensuring proper insulation on the intake, Cody re-did all the wiring that he left intentionally for Stage one for the first night, tested to ensure both stages of the furnace work properly (to name a couple of things I saw them doing, it wasn't my plan to watch their back the whole time anyways). Even though they knew they would come the next day, after the first day of work they left the place clean even after me insisting that is not needed since they would start over the next day anyways. I was really impressed with the attention to detail, the perfectionism of both Jose and Cody, not to mention the patience throughout the process, whether it was my questions, them calling me to ask for my preference on running the pipes or having to redo the piping to fix the noise. I can't recommend Jose and Cody enough, my hope is that they are setting the bar at Bel Red so that everyone of their customers can share my experience.

Richard Saxton performed plumbing repairs at our home depot. He was polite, professional and efficient. We are pleased with his work.

Jeff, the tech who did our whole-house plumbing inspection, was professional, thorough, and friendly. Bel-Red has done great maintenance and repair work for us for many years. I highly recommend them.

Jordan was quick and thorough. Kept his work area clean throughout the day and left the work area as clean as he found it. I was also pleased he made certain I understood the components of the new furnace and heat pump.

Jose and Jorgen did a fantastic job installing my new furnace today. They kept me informed all day and were extremely polite and super friendly. When they finished they explained everything to me and then went above and beyond with their cleanup. My garage is cleaner now than when they got here!

Short review: go with someone else. This company is extremely overpriced, does a subpar job, and does not value their customers. Long review: the best thing I can say about this company is that they are available for services, but there may be a reason why they are so available. We used BelRed to install a new furnace when ours stopped working during a cold weather week. Their bid was extremely high, but we had few options since other companies were booked out for days due to the freezing weather. BelRed did a great job installing the new furnace and everything ran smoothly. My expectations, given the very high cost for the new furnace and install, were met. Naturally, we decided to have them service our furnace (as well as AC unit) this year since they did the furnace install. Their servicing was $100+ over the other companies in the area (yes, we should have gone with another company). I was expecting a high-quality job, but was incredibly disappointed. The weather was warm for several days following BelRed s servicing so the furnace did not kick on. We returned from a weekend camping trip a few days later to a freezing cold house and knew something was wrong with the furnace. BelRed s weekend on-call technician (who was knowledgeable and apologetic) came out that same day to discover that the servicing technician did not reattach the flame-sensor wire causing the furnace to shut off when activated. It seems to me that a servicing tech should always double-check to be sure the unit is operating correctly immediately following a servicing job! A few other minor issues we had, especially from a company charging top dollar for servicing, was that the servicing tech left our back gate open and our hose on. Again, minor issues, but not something I expect from a company charging so much. I also have little confidence that our AC unit was serviced properly. When I called BelRed to speak with a manager about a partial furnace-servicing refund, I was placed on hold for 13 minutes while the customer service representative tried to track down a manager only to have him return to tell me he was actually taking other calls. I was placed on hold again for another 2 minutes only to find out that, conveniently, the managers were not at their desks. I asked if someone would return my call that same day and was told yes. Fast forward to the end of that same day and still no return phone call. I called again and was told that the customer service rep s supervisor was reviewing my case and I would receive a call back that evening or the next day. I never received a phone call. It is very clear following my recent experience and attempts to resolve the situation that BelRed has little interest in their customers or their customers concerns. Bottom line - go with a different company. BelRed is extremely overpriced for the quality of their services and their management has little interest in their customers.

Richard Saxton did a great job explaining everything that needed to be done in detail and communicated with me the whole time. Very happy with the results.

Kyle G was the technician who came to my house for heat pump maintenance. He was professional, courteous, and took time to explain and answer all my questions. He took time to show me the work he was doing, how my filters needed cleaning, and a part in the heat pump that needed replacement. Bel Red consistently provides great service from courteous and professional employees from their call operators to their technicians.

Had plumbing service with Trevor this morning for our water heaters and general house check. He was on time, friendly, and efficient. Provided solutions for all the issues found, and wasn't even bothered by my (loud) 3 year old interrupting our conversation ;). Great service.

A crew of 4 installers & 2 electricians were able to disassemble my old oil furnace & install my Heat Pump in about 8 hours despite the very challenge of taking apart the old furnace without removing or destroying the wall built around the furnace in the garage. Kudos to Nick E., Kyle H., Jordan B. & Jose S. for their professional work. The start up & inspections the next day were quick and done without any problem by Corey & the City inspectors. BelRed's bid came in less than 3 other bids and they did not destroy my wall! In addition, they submitted the forms to the City to get my rebate. Thanks to Joe M. for spending considerable time measuring and reviewing my house & needs. Good job BelRed!!

Russ H and Josh O installed a new furnace in a little over a 1/2 day.
I was very pleased with the time spent explaining the process and of course how everything was suppose to work. The work and job exceed my expectations!
Turns out Dustin H. installed the furnace with the above great job and Russ H followed up helping us set the fan speed and tune up the fresh air intake. All around great job!

Replaced 30+ year old electric furnace with new heat pump and 96% gas furnace. Kyle H., Nick E., and Dustin H. did a really good job of piping, plumbing and fitting everything together. Wish I could have kept the nest thermostat, but the new touchscreen one is growing on me.

We have been loyal customers for over twenty years and when we had our yearly inspection we got told that our ten year old furnace that they installed had a crack in the heat exchanger and it was a hazard and he had to red tag it and shut the gas off and advised us not to turn it back on, he gave us a hard sell on a new one and when we asked for a price on repairs he told us that parts and labor came to $2100.00 and needed $1300.00 to order the part and we where responsible for that , we paid him and a week later when they came back to install the new one we learned the part was under full warranty and we paid the $2100.00 for three hours of labor to install it. We felt like we had been taken advantage of with misleading information and when we talked to there office they claimed that was there standard price. It left us feeling sad that we not loyal customers but targets of a scam

I used Home Advisor to identify Bel Red as a highly rated plumber. I asked BelRed to come and give me an estimate for replacing my house's main shutoff water valve. Dalton showed up on time, was masked up, and put on his booties to keep my house clean. He was very patient as I explained my problem, then expertly explained what my options were. I had a number of questions, which he answered in terms I could understand. Clearly he knew what he was talking about. The options Dalton gave me were very helpful to me making a decision about how I wanted the valve to be replaced. He did mention that I should consider also installing a pressure reducing valve at the same time, and gave me quotes with and without the prv. He explained why I should consider the prv but not in a pressure sales pitch. I was very happy with his visit, trusted him and Bel Red to do good work.

This morning our new furnace was installed in what I would say record time! Both Larry Brookover & Tracy Jennings completed the installation and gave us expert assistance with our new Nest WiFi thermostat. BelRed from our first contact, Joe Maly thru installation today have shown excellent customer service and professional attitude. We would recommend this company highly to anyone.

Richard came to my house today to do finish trim on a bathroom remodel. he was knowledgeable, helpful, and a great problem solver. He had many parts on his truck, and was willing to run out to pick up any missing supplies. He was thorough and really seemed to care about getting the work done properly and quickly for us. thanks Richard!

I would have given ZERO stars but this system requires at least 1 star to complete a review. This company deserves zero stars and zero trust.

Their coupon is a rip off. The 2 year coverage coupon where you pay for them to come out and tune up the system is a complete waste of money. When something is found wrong, then charge you a ton to fix it. 2 examples, last year they tried to charge me $170 for a capacitor on my furnace.

Example 1:
This is a $4 part that can be purchased online and is as easy to replace as a 9 volt battery (2 minutes of work). Mind you I had already paid $100 for him to be there to look at my furnace and heat pump. They charged $50 for the part >500% mark up, then charged $120 for install which took 2 minutes of time, this makes their hourly on install for the capacitor $3,600/hr.

Example 2:
From 2 phone calls, I found out that the cost of freon varies dramatically. They quoted me $60 per pound, where other companies charge $20-30.

I am done with this company. I have found a different company that I am going to have my hard earned dollars go to. Check out Action Heating and Air conditioning, 5 stars and Ive spoken to them and they seem to be a company you can trust. I spoke to Bob, he was awesome.

All the technicians (Steve B. and Mike S.) were very professional and knowledgeable. With BelRed you never have worry, they always do a great job.

Jamie replace the failed pressure relief valve on our tankless water heater as well as servicing it. He great, took the time to explain things and identified a couple if issues that will need to be addressed in the near future. He was straight forward and honest and I appreciated his input.

Jeff Richter came for an assessment of my hot water heater. I was very professional and very personable. I got a fabulous education from a knowledgeable expert. He advised me not to replace the hot water tank at this time.

Like many furnace repairs/replacements this was unexpected and required water damage repair from a leaking part in my 10+ year old furnace. Shane was the tech who came out to the site one day after I put in the service call as my furnace was acting odd. In my opinion Shane went above and beyond trying to determine the source of my problems. With both heat exchangers leaking and high lvls of Co2 entering the home the repair costs were going to be at least equal to a brand new unit. Next up: The sales process. Very easy and strait forward, low pressure with lots of information and time spent on site talking with me and my wife. Next up: the install. Brandon was onsite within two business days of the sales contract being signed. Once they began work Brandon and his crew took great care to make sure all our pets (dogs and cats) were kept inside; they were exceptionally clean and left the work area tidy. Sadly the install did not go as planned. Due to damage that was not visible until the existing unit was removed the install had to be put on hold until repairs could be made to the sub floor and the floor joists. Bel Red tried to sub contract water damage repairs to another company and of the whole process this was the only hic up in the whole process, and it was not Bel Red s fault (that is another review). In the end Tasha was wonderful and Bel Red went above and beyond making sure we were happy. Special thanks go to Brendon, Shane and Tasha for putting up with me through this process. Thanks Bel Red!

We had to replace our furnace this summer, and had a great experience through Bel-Red. Jake did the initial proposal, itemized everything and answered every question we had. The installers (Fernando O, Lawrence B, and Dustin H.) were on time for the install, very courteous, and cleaned up the job site properly. We've used Bel-Red for a number of years, and it's always been a top experience.

Our old water heater started to leak but Belred somehow found a way to reinstall a new one the next day.
Dalton H. came on time and was very courteous and professional. He explained the expected time and on what to expect during the installation. He cleaned up after the installation and was such a great guy to talk to.
Belred might be a bit on the pricier side but their service is excellent.

Trevor and Richard were great today as usual. They have come to my home several times over the past few years for various projects. Today was new toilets and shut off valves under my sinks! Both are very courteous and treat my home with care and respect. Their work is excellent, called ahead as promised and finished early today! Can always count on them!

Never call Bel Red for an annual maintenance for your furnace or heat pump. They will scare you that the furnace or the heat pump is about to break down, and sell unneeded parts at exorbitant prices. After paying $270 for a condenser in a heat pump, I learned that the part did not need to be replaced.

Dustin H., Stephen T., Steven B. and Russ did a great job installing and activating our Mitsubishi mini-split system. They were able to navigate through tight spaces and existing walls and hide all of the connecting hoses and wires. The system is up and running and providing cool air throughout our house.

Just got out full system installed. Great customer experience from the install teams and specialist. They were able to save me money on my install by breaking up the system installation in 2 parts. Richard did great job! He identified the problem, explained it to me in terms that I was able to understand and was able to fix the problem the same morning. He worked quickly and efficiently, provided some other tips for potential plumbing issues and was very professional. I was very pleased with the service I received from BelRed Energy Solutions. BelRed Energy installed a furnace and AC unit in my 100+ year old house. My existing furnace was on it s last legs and that combined with working from home, decided to add cooling. I selected BelRed after quoting a system with a couple other providers. They helped me through the selection process and in the end provided the equipment, installation and service I was looking for.

The team that installed my system was great! They arrived on time, took appropriate COVID precautions and worked through some challenges presented by my 100+ year old house and numerous previous mods/additions to heating ducting. The team lead by Jose S. who arrived first gave me an overview of the work they would be doing and approximate duration. Stephen T. and Mikal D. joined shortly after and work began in earnest. The furnace ducting was refitted, furnace installed and AC unit along with line set installed cleanly and tested in short order. The entire team was very friendly, happy to answer questions and explain the system. Very professional and efficient team!

We are very pleased with BEL-RED, they replaced our heat pump and furnace. We had 6 qoutes and they gave the best price and most detailed qoute. The man doing the qoute spent over an hour writting up the qoute including measuring for lengths needed. Other companies just gave us one number without any details. We worked with Yolanda at the front office who helped as we nailed down all the details of our contract, she worked back and forth with us until we were happy with the contract we were signing and had all things in writing. She answered many questions and was always cheerful. We also very much appreciated our installers Jose S and Dalone S who were at our home from 7AM till 8PM, working so hard to get our heat pump installed in one day. They answered more questions and worked with us on our needs for that day, very professional and went above and beyond. We highly recommend Bel Red to others.

When he left the furnace no longer worked but could be fixed for $ 800 and just happened to have the circuit board with him some coincidence, furncace stopped working after he serviced it but he had the one $ 800 part needed to fix it - what a surprise he had the exact circuit board for that model of furnace - maybe he knew it was going out?
Call someone else for service.

Excellent installation of our new heat pump furnace by Ray B. & Mike S... completed on time and as promissed. We received several furnace replacement bids and chose Belred because they offered us the best technical solution (quiet and efficient Bosch heat pump) and were able to match the price of a lower bid. I would definitely recommend Belred and their helpful team.

Richard Saxton and Eric Sams are highly informative and helpful for all plumbing questions. Richard came by for annual maintenance, and an installment of multiple sinks the following week. Eric came by to help us with a shower leak, dripping onto our 1st floor ceiling. They are both very friendly and efficient - highly recommend.

Excellent customer service! Our furnace stopped working and they sent a technician out within two days to investigate the issue. Before the technician came out we received an email with their picture and projected timeframe for arrival. We had a rust problem and had to replace the entire furnace unfortunately, however they were able to accommodate the replacement again within two days of investigation. They provided information on the options. An email was sent with a photo of the repair technician along with time of arrival and they were extremely on time, courteous, and efficient. Will gladly use the same company as well as refer to friends and family.

Justin H & helper Josh O installed a new Trane gas furnace when the old one failed. They did an excellent job and their installation looks great. With the frigid weather (lows of 19 degrees), we are happy to have reliable heat!

Sam Kirkland did a furnace inspection and detected a leaking inducer motor gasket. And arranged for an immediate fix. He was courteous and professional, and prevented what could have become a more serious issue.

Kyle H and Steve B did a great job replacing my gas furnace. I appreciate the modifications they did to fit the furnace and ducting to ensure form and fit. They were fast, accurate and efficient.

We had our usual excellent experience with both plumbing and heating. Richard Sexton and Jeff Richter spent hours going through the entire plumbing system in the house. They found several minor problems and these are scheduled for repair. This is along with replacement of our hot water heater which is very old with a tankless water heater and recirculating line in our house so that we will not waste water or wait a long time to get hot water at the other end of the house.
Additionally Spencer Young was here, also from Bell-Red, and provided a thorough annual inspection of our heating system. He made suggestions about a couple of upgrades that we needed done, and took care of them during his visit. As an aside, he took apart our fireplace and cleaned it up restoring it to mint condition.
We have used Bell-Red heating for a very long time, and are quite pleased with our service.

We just had BelRed finish a big job installing a heat pump in an older home. They were such careful workers I wanted to leave a review to share. Jose and Mike were crew under Brandon and they did VERY high quality work, adding steps to reduce drywall cutting and making the final product look like it was designed into the home (despite very cramped and challenging spaces). Joe who did estimate was also a very experienced and expert designer. These guys were PROS who I would call again in a heartbeat! I m very happy with result.
