Bay View Resort Review

This is the best place ever. Everyone is so nice and friendly that work there. My family and I wouldn't stay anywhere else. They are the best..

We got this place for our anniversary because it said smoke free but yet was allowed smoking on the balconies. We did not get to enjoy that area due to smelling smoke and marijuana. We were put in wrong room that cost less then what we paid for then was told we will NOT be reimbursed and couldnt get us to the right room for 2 days. When we got to our ocean view room 2 days later the phone didnt work, the toilet seat was broke so everytime we sat down we got our butt pinched, the tiles in the bathroom was coming up and we found roaches! When we used our cell phone to call the desk about that or anything it was always, call back in the morning when maintenance is here. There were people in the halls loud, drunk and the smell of marijuana was overwhelming that we took our 2 minors with us and stayed gone till time to go to sleep. We saw the house keeper 1 time our whole time there. The first room we were in you could see the hallway from the crack in the door and the 2nd room we were in had roaches and many mishaps. Not one time was we told sorry about the wrong room and didnt even get offered for some of our money back due to the wrong room and we had to stay in it for 2 days that was cheaper then we paid for. Loud noise from people there and music. This was our first time to Myrtle Beach and from our stay at Bay View Resort, we will not be returning. Got 1 star which I didnt mean to click cause it deserves none!

Absolutely love it here and don't want to leave. We got an oceanfront condo. It was incredibly clean when we came in. Staff is friendly and helpful, they give advice on the attractions. Unfortunately check-in was a little crazy because there isn't much room to pull in. We love the parking garage though. Just a short walk away from the hotel. The pool is small but still fun. AMAZING view from our room. Love the ocean!!! Would definitely stay here again!!

Nice location, excellent view if the ocean. However, somewhat disappointed that housekeeping did not bring fresh towels/washcloths on day 2 of our stay. Luckily, I was the only occupant in the master bedroom w/private bathroom, therefore I had a couple extra towels leftover to give to the occupants (my family) in the adjoining rooms.

Great hotel, however the weed smoking is really out of control, AC sucks the smoke in from outside or even other rooms.

Trouble free carefree vacation. Was taken care of upon asking. Good service.Tgank you!

Nice and clean rooms and a good view of the beach and swimming pool

Very convenient location, tons of things to do within walking distance. It would be nicer if the parking garage wasn't across the street or they offered valet parking year round.

Beware that your A/C may not work properly do to the fact it is tide to another guest room Very odd. Spent 4-days sweating in our sleep, and yes we called front desk and no help. Our bed must have had a elephant sleep in it because it was totally smashed in on one side.

Enjoyed a great 3 day stay in a 3 bedroom 3 bath ocean front condo. For anyone who may be disabled or like myself in a wheelchair, I am a large Quadriplegic guy in a power chair and didn't have any trouble getting around in our large condo even though it wasn't listed as a handicap accessible and door ways very wide also at least 3 of the 4 elevators are very large. Great location right on the boardwalk close to everything. Clean rooms, nice kitchen, friendly staff, they have a handicap accessible lift to assist with indoor pool transfers an outside pool would be nice a addition but, I guess that's what the ocean is for. Having said that we look forward to our next trip and stay at Bay View Resort.

Waited 2 hours past stated check-in time.
3 elevators for hotel with 19 floors.
No concierge.
Must go out of lobby and back in to wait for congested unairconditioned tiny elevators.
Room keys didn't work.
Safe was not cleared from previous occupant.
Front desk wouldn't answer phone.
Doorknob falling off bedroom door.
Sliding glass door off track.
Had to go back to lobby and ask to get Starbucks tickets that we were supposed to get at check-in.
No outdoor pool.
Lazy River very small.
Icemaker not connected in room fridge. Checked 4 floors for ice machine that worked. Didn't find one. Told me to go to Starbucks.
Water dripping on my grandson's head in bed from a/c vent. Wall wet in same bedroom.

Besides the elevator breaking and a few bugs in the room it was a lot of fun!

Place was cramped, dirty, and did not follow COVID procedures.

If you decide to get a room here DONT get a Standard Room with an adjorning Suite occupied by another hotel guest. I didnt know until i got to room and the other guest started cooking. The AC vents are connected between the 2 rooms and whenever i used the AC you can ell what they are cooking and how often they burn their cooking at home. And the smell lingers all 2 days i was there. They obviously cooked all their meals in that room. Good thing i had a nice oceanfront view with a sliding glass door and warm outdoor temps because that door stayed open the entire time.

Also in your Standard room theres no place to sit other than the edge of your bed. Thats right no couch or table in the room. The room has a decent size mini fridge and microwave with a small sink. Overall the room was and bathroom was clean but that strong lingering cooking smell was bad.

They give you a Redbox like pass to checkout a movie one at a time from the lobby. The indoor pool area was crowded. The best part of the room was the ocean view and constant waves splashing onshore.

Good location to boardwalk and other interest. I may have had a more positive experience if i didnt book the standard room but now i know. Cannot wait to checkout tomorrow.

The room was very clean with a great oceanfront view. The only reason I didn't give it five stars were because the elevators took a while and parking across the street (security wasn't a issue ).

Not recommend to anyone .not clean. Very different from pictures

We stayed her for 4 days end on March by recommendation of friends, and I must say it was a nice experience. Check in was a little congested but staff was friendly and attentive to every customer needs. My kids enjoyed the indoor pool as we needed the pool as the weather was cool. Had a 3 bedroom oceanfront view suite, but was not informed that the 3rd bedroom was a separate suite of it's own with a very limited side view. Rooms could use a little bit more modernization, new furniture and bigger T.V's. Curtains definitely need cleaning or replacing and carpet was stained quite a bit.

Stayed here years ago. Reasonable prices and modern feel right on the beach.

I ve stayed at Bayview exclusively for the last 6-7 years(multiple trips each year). Bayview was the only place I would consider staying for our vacations because no other place came close to what we were looking for and expected from our hotel. My most recent trip, 9/7-9/12/20, will be our LAST stay at Bayview. I understand times and procedures have changed with the COVID-19 pandemic at hand, but the issues we had during our stay didn t result from it. Housekeeping has fallen off dramatically. If and when they came in to service the room, used towels would be picked up, kitchen trash taken out only, and the new towels for 1 bath of 2 would be left on the kitchen counter. We shrugged this off as no big deal, but on day 2, we returned to our room to find the hall way door leading to the main door left unsecured and the main door left held open with the night latch. No employee was anywhere on the floor we were staying on. We had no clue who else if any one had been in our room. Luckily nothing was missing, but with not knowing, we had to re sanitize everything in the room over again. This is unacceptable. I notified the front desk after the first occurrence, and was told the manager was in a meeting, but had been made aware of the situation and would contact me as soon as they were done. After 3 days of trying to speak with someone, the front desk assuring me that they were giving the messages with my cell number to the managers, and another incident where the doors were left open, I have yet to hear from anyone. (Today is 9/13). It s almost as if the attitude of the hotel has changed to not caring about the needs and safety of the guests. The last 2 problems I had technically were out of the hotels control, but to make whoever reads this aware, we couldn t even enjoy sitting on the ocean front balcony because of the amount of marijuana that was being smoked on/in the rooms surrounding us. This was an every hour occurrence all through our stay.
Finally, when we were checking out, there were several guest checking in. It was very busy out front. My wife was waiting with our luggage while we were getting the car from the parking deck. She was approached, while standing at the front door, by another guest at the hotel and propositioned for s*x. The same guest lingered around her and our belongings until I had returned. Maybe the hotel should consider having security or a member of the staff present if there are more that 3 vehicles in the loading and unloading area. This could have became a very big issue for anyone there. I notified the front desk of this as well. With all that has transpired over this stay, as much as we LOVE staying at Bayview, we will not return nor the friend and family that we have introduced and recommended Bayview to for the last 6-7 years.

We loved our stay but if your bringing very small children bring outlet covers they have lots of out in the open outlet. Overall great stafe and would return

The staff were nice enough and friendly, but the other guests ruined the experience for me. People were smoking in their rooms (non-smoking hotel) and it vented into my room, not to mention any time I stepped off the balcony it reeked of weed. I left the same day because I didn't feel comfortable or safe, even within my own room due to it reeking like an ashtray. I called to the front desk and they were nice enough, but said there wasn't much they could do except spray air freshener. I've tried calling and emailing the hotel to talk with someone in management about my experience, but nobody has answered the phone or my email.

That's about the only nice thing. Checked into an extremely small room was supposed to be 2 rooms but was 2beds in one closet size room Went to front desk was told no other rooms avail. sent down husband and was told yes for $50 more dollars. The young blonde same girl who told me no handed off transfer to another lady who then said there is no price difference?? Had to walk through drug dealer alley for parking. My 12 yr old and his friend were approached to buy drugs with us walking right behind them. The only view we had from our balcony are the drug deals taking place starting first thing in the morning. These are the lovely videos we have to show our family & friends. This is not a place for any family to visit. Not to mention you could not shower without the entire room sounding like a jack hammer was being used. The floors in the hallway were supposed to be being repaired (no workers even seen) tiles were laying all over with pieces missing. We stayed in room 901

We were very disappointed with our stay. We checked in August 31st. Knowing that hurricane Dorin was looming, we called before leaving Ohio. They told us that the only way we could get a refund was for them to be in a mandatory evacuation. We were evacuated Monday morning!!! We paid for 6 nights, and only got to stay 2. We were only refunded half our money.....For 2 nights, really? The 2 nights that we were there, no maid service what so ever. We were later told that as long as there was a State Of Emergency, that we didnt need to check in at all to get a refund. Last stay at Bayview, and we've been staying there for many years.

My room was facing a vacant bldg under construction. The room was mediocre. Front desk staff was not very welcoming and inviting. Beds were comfortable.

Very disappointing. Very small pool area. Room service did not come everyday. Room was small. No wadher and dryers. Staff was very friendly and professional. Cops had to come to deal with people and drugs. Not happy

Great Hotel, nice rooms, nice pools, great location,

Service is absolutely terrible, staff couldn t care less about anything. Cars block the loading/unloading drive for hours! Couldn t get anyone at the desk to help nor the guy sitting on the golf cart that completely ignored us.

Accidentally booked room at this hotel instead of hotel with similar name next door. Were told $100 was not refundable "because you paid that in advance". Decided to stay. The elevator smelled bad. The room was horrible. It smelled musty. The stove was dirty and the kitchen was dusty. The refrigerator was dented and had rust spots. The sofa was badly stained. The furniture was old and depressing. We decided to sacrifice the $100 and stay at the hotel next door. I would have driven home to North Carolina rather than stay there. The only bright spot was the nice young man who checked us out.

I live in Myrtle Beach and I made reservations for family members coming in town. I made my reservations 2 weeks early. When I arrived at the hotel they informed me that they do not rent to locals. Now I'm in my 60's and party days are way behind me. I had no idea they didn't rent to locals. So now I'm scrambling to find a place for my family. I called expedia (who i went thru for the stay. they were great. Got me in a nicer room in a newer hotel right next door! We are staying at South Bay, they have a Water park for the kids and a lazy river for me. We have ocean front with a kitchen... So save yourself alot of aggravation make reservations at South Bay. Thanks Bay view for not wanting me at your property!

Clean and nice. Close to many attractions in downtown area. The whole downtown and beach has been cleaned up, new landscaping, new lights. New walking trails and the traffic on Ocean Blvd reduced by their new traffic pattern.

Hotel staff and maids were very kind. We always stay here. I just wish they had a outside pool during summer time

Beautiful hotel at a great location and great value. The rooms have a washer and dryer and full kitchens! I have recommended this hotel to everyone that tells me they are going to Myrtle Beach..everyone I have referred has said they will be going again...and so will I!! Don't look at any other hotel...Bay View is definitely the best!!

Very lovely place, it has been our winter getaway for more than 10 years.

The bed is suppose to be queen however the bed we had were full size all day long. I'm not sure when they changed them but we have been staying here for the last 9 years and I can't believe there aren't many renovations since we first stayed in 2009. I like the hotel but some things can be a lot better for the money that you pay. There is hardly enough dishes or silverware for your needs when we stay.

Best hotel ever!! Great pool area- pool, hot tub, kid area, lazy river- all indoor, then spray areas outside, then the beautiful beach! Suite was huge - full kitchen, washer & dryer. Concierge was wonderful, even though I didn't buy any tickets! (No time). Great price! (Off season helps, I'm sure). Definitely want to go back sometime when I can spend more time!

It is a very nice hotel from the outside. We're visiting Myrtle Beach. We drove by to see the outside of the hotel and surrounding areas. Th beach is wonderful. The sunrise is awesome.

My heat was not working all night I called front desk that morning and this guy named Lavon (sorry if I spelled name wrong) fixed my heat and now I am happily warm thanks again Lavon

We stayed in room 1210 and it was perfect. AC worked great, kitchen was well stocked, and room was very clean and nice. Will definitely return

2nd time my mom and I have stayed here. We like it, but our first time was way better. This time, we had many cleaning issues with the room when checking in. Like, the garbage wasn't taken out, there was a weird substance on one of the headboards and just little stuff on the floor. And a bulb was burnt, but that's no big deal. After an hour someone finally came to help us and after that everything was great. Maybe they were really full/understaffed, but still- I felt very icky in that room the first night.

I only give this place a 1 star and only because the staff was friendly. The motel reeked of marijuana every where I went even the elevators and the parking garage. I could smell it coming through the vents in my room and when I went on the balcony. I even checked out before normal time because I was ready to get out of there. It was extremely loud in the streets until 430am which I know the hotel can t control. But I had young kids with me and I will never stay there again. Room was small and smelled really bad. I really have nothin good to say about the property other than the outside lawn appearance was nice.

The night shift manitance crew was awesome! Front desk lady was a little rude, but over all the hotel was really nice. Room was clean. We had a ocean front room with 2 full beds on the 9th floor. Elevators run a little slow but that is to be expected with 50 people trying to use them.I would for sure stay here again!

Staff was nice. Hotel could use some work. Was good stay over all. Lots of pools. Kids had a blast. "Arcade" is pretty lame.

Nice indoor pool with small lazy river. On beach and in walking distance to many restaurants and attractions. Nice rooms. Main drawback was incredibly slow elevators. Often used the stairs.

Bayview is amazing from check in all three way to your room. Love love love the resort.

Worst experience ever. Call the front desk 3 times to ask for simple pillows and blankets, never delivered. Safe in room at last day decided to start beeping. Elevators broke down hours before checkout, we stayed on 19th floor. Couldn't get our luggage cart down and management refused to extend checkout time. Poorest of the poor when it comes to customer service. Room was mediocre at best. Stayed here 6 years ago and had a much more pleasant visit. Place has turned into a joke now. Would not recommend, even to my worst enemy.

The beds were comfortable , furniture is out dated, the bathroom was nice. We got the Sunset view condo, it was very clean. We had someone come and ask us if we wanted clean towels everyday & they took our trash. I had read on the paper that they had attached to the fridge that they vacuum daily and made your bed. No one ever vacuumed and we stayed for a week. Lazy pool is small but alright. To be honest this resort isn t for kids, the little kiddy splash pad kinda sucked but it is perfect for kids under 3. The indoor mushroom thingy for the kids was always freaking cold! Overall it was okay and clean. But we did have roaches
It s close to the boardwalk so it s a little loud at night. We had the perfect view to watch people get arrested

Not sure yet Dishes were wet, putting through hot dishwasher.. looked liked everything had been wiped with spotty rag, cleaned with odor ban I disinfected.. hope for best

Comfortable place to stay at Myrtle Beach! Very reasonable winter rates.

Love the family style service but had to wait an hour to be seated.

Fridge ran loudly day and night. Had a walk in shower which was nice but shower curtain was too short so bathroom flooded every time you took a shower no matter how careful you were. Decor was dated. You had to walk across two streets to get to the parking deck. will look for other accommodations next time we go to the beach.

I came to Myrtle Beach for my birthday!! I've been dealing with alot since my mother passed away in March. So I needed a get away to get a peaceful mind and I couldn't have picked the best place to stay. The employees was the BEST I've ever dealt with in my whole entire life!! The room was perfect and clean!! The balcony was perfect for sun rise to sun set!! We're coming back Labor day weekend and bringing family cause I want them to experience what we had!! I want to thank each and everyone that works here, for making my birthday weekend to wonderful!! See y'all in September!!

LOVE this Resort! Perfect for families with an amazing Waterpark that keeps the little ones busy your entire stay. Close enough to everything so that you can walk to attractions, shops and restaurants. We never moved our vehicle once we checked in. Beautiful in every way with quality furniture and appliances. We stayed in the penthouse Suite, 1901 and 1902 and the amount of space was amazing for the four of us. Parking is in a secure garage a couple of streets over but a quick walk.
My only negatives would be a small area for parking to check in and the breakfast buffet was not stocked well any of the mornings of our three night stay. We were there during spring break 2019 so there were a lot of people there but the kitchen was unable to keep up with the amount of people there apparently.

They have roaches, and the front desk staff is rude!!!

I have NEVER had a problem staying at Bay Veiw until August.5,2018!!!! The room were different from the rooms I ve booked before this time a small room with 2 full beds the walls were super thin!!! I could hear my neighbors talking loud, cussing, bumping walls, loud music (no respect)!! I called the front desk she said she would have security check the situation if he did...it only made the situation worst It was 3:00 a.m and the party was still going. I wanted to get some sleep because I was leaving early Monday morning don t see it happening with all the noise!!! Also, had a few other problems the lamps didn t work, the bottom of the tub was dirty (black) the little freezer had about 3 inches of dirty ice, the comforters did not smell clean, weird smell in hallway. I have booked this place countless times myself or with friends NEVER a problem. IM DONE

The rooks are always very nice and clean...only place I stay when I go to beach...staff is very friendly....it just feels like home and haven't felt that at no other hotel.
